I beg for humor, if only for a second. (PC Guild link about celebrations for 53 years of choice) http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=11702787I feel like... on one hand, you have a group of people calling abortion a "difficult" choice and that no one truly "likes" to actually get an abortion. Then you have this "happy" and "positive" celebrations over the ability to make said "difficult" choice. Did anyone else forget the fact that this is a surgical procedure? Not quite sure about any of you but I haven't seen any listings of celebrations forrhinoplasties, or angioplasties or chemotherapy in the past... like forty years. Y'know, just saying. I think certain people need to pick an attitude that does not contradict their views and stick with it. EDIT: In line with Guild rules, do not use names, and do not make reference to individuals.

Don't you mean 35 years and not 53?
I agree why would you celebrate something like that?

The intelligent pro-choice attitude that I've seen in REAL LIFE and off this site in the more hard-to-find intelligent corners of the internet state, quite clearly, that this isn't some thing to celebrate. Not because its a bad thing, but because celebrating looks like a desperate cry of saying "ITS NORMAL, DAMNIT!" and so long as you seek to try to prove it, hardly any one will actually accept it.
Most intelligent choicers have the simple inclination to accept the existence of abortion, pry they never have to exersize its existence, and move on with the rest of their lives.

Anyone else notice most of these celebrations were put on by Planned Parenthood?
"35 years of the most profitable choice yet--cha-CHING!"

I forget where I saw it (either ADT or the other guild) where a pro-choicer mentioned seeing crosses set up to represent abortions and actually feeling pride that so many women had made that choice. I was more than a little nauseated by that statement. You're right, I think. Normal people do NOT feel pride at making such a choice.

How about a "I gassed a Jew" T-shirt, or "I flogged a slave" or "I beheaded an infadel"? I would actually wear one of the jew ones in public, to protest that kind of s**t.

I'd wear the slave one, because then people would look at me weird, and I'd be like, "Yeah I'm 150 years old, what's your problem? It's all in the diet and exercise!" But seriously though, that's pretty damn disgusting. Especially since so many of them argue that abortion is like a necessary evil.

I don't think it's about the choice. I never have. It's about having a choice, as if they've never had one to begin with.

That's pretty hypocritical.
If I argued for the death penalty, I wouldn't celebrate "20 years of death, huzzah!"

It just disturbs me that majority of pro-choice people ignore the fact of whether the fetus is "human" or not and just rant on about how it's "the woman's body, so it's her choice."
Well, I believe labeling pro-abortion people as pro-choice makes little sense and really doesn't apply because it's actually limiting the choice to the woman. I believe it also affects the man and, of course, the child.

Does this person feel proud when their little cousin sets an entire row of ants on fire? I think all the pro-choicers I know IRL would call that ******** sick, too.
