OMG there are so many things I hate about band. First of all I really hate my teacher. He is such a retard. Always blaming me when the clarinets aren't doing good. I'm not even the leader person thing. And I hate the geeks who always annoy me about their band problems. And ONLY their band problems. Don't they have anything else to complain about?
What do you hate most about band?

I hate how after class if you walk by the brass sections its like a lake theres spit everywhere its so gross. I also hate how it consumes most of your free time, I can understand during marching season, but during concert band I work at home to make sure I know my parts. Why should I have to stay after school for sectionals just because other people cant take the time to learn their own part?

There are only two things I don't like about band
1. The few people (about 2 or 3) who make me feel like I'm not good enough for them, not in terms of playing but like I'm not cool or something (how juvenile) and
2. That I'm not playing everyday.....why oh why didn't I go to study music at uni?!

I hate the idiots.
Whenever we finish playing a song, someone starts talking.
And when the BD cuts us off, someone always keeps playing.
There's this stupid 7th grader that I also hate in band, but he counts as an idiot.

Durrtyboi about 2 people in my section who absolutely suck and just are so damn annoying I know how that feels. I'm in a cadet band, so we have stricter rules, but there's this one trumpet player who just does NOT shut up, and doesn't listen to his superiors either! We play in a cold room cuz the heaters a broken, and we were sitting at room ( basically you can't move, talk, or nothin else...) and he was figetting and talking. He was told by one of our band instructors to stop, and he said he was putting his mouthpiece back in his trumpet. when the instructor asked why, he said cuz it was cold, so he put his mouthpiece in his pocket. the instructor got so fed up with him cuz he kept doing it, that he sent the trumpeter to our Captain.

I don't like how my band director only works with like one or two sections for most of the class period so the rest of us have to sit there and do nothing.
the other thing i don't like is how bad people can get into the top band. They literally suck but my director puts them in anyways just because they are a senior or some other crap like that. We would get so much more done if we only had good players in there...but the down part is that we probably wouldn't even have enough to cover most of the parts...lol i could understand if a couple people were bad but just to fill the parts but there's at least 2 to a part and like 3 or 4 for clarinets and trumpets...annoying much!

gollen i live a good distance from my school so i have to get up at 5 to be out the door by 6 so I can make the 7 am band rehearsals. It's so annoying for some reason our teachers decided to combine both jazz and symphonic band and use two rooms the band room ((used to be the library)) and the sevie choir and the orchestra room..of course us non-jazzies are forced into the mini which is only like double the main directers office....while the jazz gets the whole freaking library sized band room with about fifteen people..and us with about forty.

WELL EXCUSE US BRASS PLAYERS FOR PLAYING THE CORRECT WAY! we cant help it if our instruments get spit in them....not out fault!!! ANYWAYS....i hate that some of our seniors think that the band is going to fall without them....its so stupid...i mean i'm a junior...going to be a senior...and i really could care less if they leave...i play loud enough AND i'm 1st chair...not any of the other seniors could beat me on the playing test....its that simple...we'll be just fine w/o them...@.@

I hate the unenthuastic members(aka, nearly everyone in my band, minus me, my brother, a handful of others) whenever our director(who is awesome guy by the way, our school lucked out, had him for like 29 years) passes out new music, or tells us pull out the sheet music for any of our songs people start groaning and mumbling like it's the end of the world, according to them every song in our repertoire is a 'retarded song'. I also don't like the B****es that sit next to me and are always either patronizing me with "that was really beautiful" or blaming their mistakes on me, not that I don't make my own, but they should woman up. The worst part, they act like they hate band, but they WON'T LEAVE! they use band as a big free period and are always talking when the director is working with other sections. *stews*

My band director is like the coolest person ever, but he can get mad really easily if it's a serious rehearsal (like one right before a concert). So I hate when he starts yelling at someone for 10 minutes. He made this trumpet player guy in my band cry last year, it was really sad.
I have band 6th period (the last period) and at the end of class a hundred sixth graders come in to get their instruments (I'm in middle school). Not only do they interrupt our playing time, but then when you're packing up they get in your way SO much, then act like it's your fault.
I also suck at playing by myself. If ANYONE else, anyone else at all, is playing with me, I'm fine. But if it's just me in front of the whole class, I do awfully. The other day we had a playing quiz and I did the worst I have ever done on the part we had to play and I got an 83. And it was especially annoying because the things my BD was telling me I had to fix were things I normally did flawlessly.
Band rant over.
