Appearance: Sleek and elegant, Ardenna is a dark haired woman with whose skin tone is just pale enough to go well with the black robes she prefers to wear. Her slanted emerald eyes give her a fierce and intimidating appearance despite her other, more delicate facial features. Her black robes are fitted from a slightly stiff material, and the splits on each side extend to her hips to reveal soft, whit pants tucked into knee-length, dark brown boots. A thick, teal-blue sash is tied around her waist and is inscribed with a number of elegant scripted runes. The long, billowing sleeves of her robes, though tight around her upper arm, are often rolled up above her elbows and out of the way, and if her shoulder length, fingerless gloves weren’t black many stains and burns would be easily visible from her various experiments with different magics. She keeps her waist length hair tied back with a thick, brown leather cord that wraps around a large portion of its length.

Weapon: A heavy spear known as a Glaive, its head is similar to a sword blade attached to a staff and is used as such. It has earned itself the nickname Spear of Storms because of its use in tandem with Air and Lightning magic, and its bright silver blade is etched with twin ravens at tip and tie of the blade, with a serpentine dragon along its haft. The runes inscribed along the blade translate: “Such is the price for knowledge, thy debt be paid, and thy death is sure. Use thy gift well, oh seeker of truths.” When asked what it means her only response is a stony glare.

Personality: A peacemaker, she manages to quell more fights with her fierce glares than with calming words. Her disapproval is not something to be desired, and her subtlety in punishments is excruciatingly legendary. Nevertheless, she is very kind to those who are on her good side, and she loves to teach, sometimes taking over classes when teachers are unable to be present. Fierce and determined her temper is slow to rise and even slower to fall. Curious to a fault.

Strength: A cool and level head to match her intelligence keeps dangerous situations from becoming disastrous.

Weakness: Curious to a fault she often throws herself unthinkingly into said dangerous situations just to see what happens. She will do anything to protect her students or gain new knowledge.

History: Ardenna grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. When war came to her home she picked up a Glaive and joined the fight at only thirteen years of age. It was on the battlefield that she discovered her magical affinities, and from there that she developed those talents. A quick study, she was unbound from the limitations of formal schooling and discovered many unique uses for the different elemental powers. After becoming a high ranking magical officer Ardenna became engaged to another mage who used air magic. Shortly after their engagement however, he vanished in battle and she never again heard from him. After years in the military Ardenna resigned the ranks she had gained and returned home to a life of solitude. The town, deserted and torn by battle, had become an isolated spot where she could continue learning in peace. When she learned of the school which Varnis Locust had founded, she broke free of her isolation and offered him her aid in teaching the young students the powers of their gifts.
