Senatla slept peacefully through the night, feeling safe and secure with her traveling companions so close. She had no idea that Kamaria had left them and brought back someone new. Curled up a little cold and almost wishing she had cuddled up with the other two, dreams were nice to her and she was unaware of it.

Just before dawn, with the sky was starting to be painted by the lighter blues and the starts retreating, she awoke. At first, her violet eyes opened slowly and her head rose to make the wide yawn easier. There was a light roar accompanying the yawn. Blinking her eyes looked first on Roho then Kamaria.

The next second she had jumped clean into the air, claws out slightly as she stared in bewildered shock. Who was that red fellow and why was he sleeping near them? Standing in front of her companions to protect them, what she would have been able to do reasonably was not factored into her thoughts, her heart beat was strong. Safe to say, the reddish lioness was fully awake now.

The earthy red lion had been sleeping like the dead, barely able to move or twitch in his sleep, but as the morning came his death like slumber was slowly wearing off. It was completely gone once he heard what sounded like a roar. His crimson eyes flashed open and he struggled to clear his vision to get a good look at who ever had made the sound.

A blurry red figure stood out in his blurred vision and the muscles inside of him tensed, had they known he was in the desert and were back to drag him back to the Firekin lands? He shook his head blinking slowly a few times trying to correct the problem.

"H-hello?" He murmured, "Are you one of Kamaria's friends?" He had not taken a good look at her traveling companions, he was so exhausted on his way here that he didn't shoot them a passing glance. She of course spoke of one of them being red like him, so it was all together possible. His guard never dropped down as he looked at her, he eased his way into a sitting position wincing as he put weight on his weak legs.

While Kamaria had originally intended to return back to the area in which her friends slept, she knew that she could not force Aten forward for so long. The two had managed to find a spot a few feet away from her friends, Senatla and Roho. Kamaria had hoped to wake earliest so that she might travel to them and introduce their new companion before anyone knew that she had been gone. To her luck, however, her sleep had a strong hold of her.

The sound of Senatla's form jumping into the air and the nervous voice of Aten was what Kamaria had woke to in the morning. Her lavender eyes went wide as she realised that things had not gone as she planned. Running forward to stand between the two, Kamaria's breaths came out quickly and nervously.

"Senatla! Ten!" Kamaria finally managed to squeeze out from her throat. She felt entirely responsible for the shocked meeting. And while she knew not of Aten's past, she understand his strange fear of those of red color. Senatla must have been a fearful site to wake to.

Turning to Senatla as though to explain, Kamaria spoke quickly, "I'm sorry! I went to get some fresh air last night and came across Aten. He seems to need company as much as we do.. and Ten-" Kamaria began, switching her gaze towards the male, "This is Senatla. He is one of my companions."

Observing the possible threat, she stood her ground, claws still slightly out. She hadn't expected him to speak as he did. An unknown lion, she expected to sound mean or at the very least assured of himself. Roho had been the first to two lions she had met and found to be nice; however, the inborn aversion to rogue lions stood with her strongly, a wisdom she hadn't had enough cause to question completely yet.

It seemed the male knew Kamaria, which meant he couldn't be bad. Kamaria would never bright someone to their little group that would cause them harm, with that she had complete faith in the older lioness.

Speaking of, white and black of a familiar coat came into her vision as Kamaria appeared. Senatla figured her actions had woken everyone up by now. With a name to the strange lion, she felt better, Listening to the introduction, the reddish lioness calmed down and relaxed, sitting as well to show she was not going to be aggressive, "It is better to meet you now that I know you are a friend, welcome." As normal, she looked more to Kamaria for her reactions, but the rogue life bred into her the instinct to also watch the other elements in her environment, so she kept an eye on Aten to observe his actions and words as well. Her muscles were already protesting the sudden jolt to action without proper stretching, but she was hardly going to show the light discomfort in front of a still rather unknown element

(P.S. - He goes by Ten, he never introduced himself as Aten. <33)

His fright was soon soothed at Kamaria's familiar voice, but his fear of the red furred lioness was not completely gone, as she had said Senalta was smaller than a firekin, but she still had the color. He bowed his head low, lower than was appropriate for the situation and looked at the both of them hopefully.

"An interesting wake up call, for sure," he chimed thoughtfully looking between the two. An interesting sight a female and her travelling companion, he wondered where their loyalty lies about one another, did they act as sisters acted, or as friends?

"If I am a problem, I have no qualms with leaving." His ears peeled back against his head.

Kamaria was glad that her exclamation had silenced the tension between the two partially. The long walk from the night before had certainly worn her out more than she had hoped for. Still tired, the lioness had only bolted over to ensure that she could explain the situation. Now, weary and guilty, her ears were lowered and she watched them both carefully. With a short sigh, she continued to explain, "I'm sorry. I had hoped that I might wake before the two of you in time to explain. I suppose I foiled that plan.."

When Ten mentioned that he was willing to leave if it caused a problem, Kamaria's guilt only grew. She thought she knew others as well as Senatla believed. She found something great in all those she chose to travel with. They were broken lions with distressed pasts and perhaps presents before they chose to leave them behind. Never did they speak about their pain, but instead chose to move on with their futures with the other's to help support them. If Ten simply left than Kamaria would be wrong. Perhaps he did not need them?

Taking a few steps closer to them, Kamaria tried to choose her words carefully. Perhaps he did need them and did not know it? "We cannot keep you here against your own judgement, but we would be more than grateful for your company. And surely I would miss another friendly face amongst the group."

Senatla had no idea what her coat represented, all she knew about firekin were that they were dangerous. She knew where to stay out of, and that the dreaded lions were bigger than normal, but that was the extent of her knowledge of them. Watching him bowing his head, she looked to Kamaria unsure if thats what she was supposed to do as well. When the older lioness explained that she had hoped to explain this, she really wished she had done so.

Ten's response brought a smile even if she hadn't meant to smile. It was funny, though she was sure he hadn't tried to make a joke. "I complete wake up, I agree." Although nothing was ever said, the young lioness did look up to Kamaria like a sister, trusting her and her judgment.

Waiting for Kamaria to speak about Ten's suggestion of leaving, she lowered her ears feeling guilty. Obviously she did something wrong, made the male feel like he wasn't welcomed.

When she got no blame from Kamaria for the red lion's wish to leave, she stepped up to try and fix things. "Please don't leave because of how I acted." her plea came, her own head held lower assuming thats how she was supposed to act following what he did. "I was just startled, you are not a problem, you are a new friend. I just thought you were a threat at first." Again, her violet eyes turned to Kamaria, waiting to see if she was acting right. Of course she was looking at Ten as well, taking cues from both of them.

She shook her head at the lionesses words, his judgement said to stay with them, traveling in a group of strangers was better than traveling alone to be sure. "The way you reacted was perfectly natural, I would be frightened to have a large lion snuggled up near my group too." he tried another joke but it did not come off as funny to him.

He did not know how to explain his dominance issues, he lowered his head out of a respect issue, to show he was not a threat and should not be taken as such. In his travels he found that being too assertive with an enemy can make them more aggressive, by lowering her head Senatla was showing that she too was not a threat. Aten raised his head slightly his ears still peeled back in fear of being removed.

"I want to stay with you, I would like to see where we go," he answered a question that was not asked, "however no more surprises?" his expression brightened. He meant to step forward but the moment he reset any weight on his legs that was not due he winced in agony, it was going to be slow going for him, he foresaw this as a problem.

Kamaria felt more guilt reach her when her companion lowered her ears and begged for the newcomer to stay. Senatla had no reason to feel bad about the events that had occurred. In fact, it was wise of her to react in such a way to a stranger. Not all rogues could be trusted and the small group was lucky to have found such kind, unique lions to join up with. With a feable smile, Kamaria took a few steps towards Senatla and offered a reassuring nuzzle, "You were correct to act the way you did. You were not wrong, Senatla and have no reason to apologise." She was surprised to see that Ten had also spoke the same thing.

Amongst the trio of apologising, guilty lions, Kamaria felt as though it was her responsibility to change the mood of things. She was an unelected group leader, though they all thought of one another as equals. She would need to find her voice when the others were stumbling with theirs. Improving her smile, the lioness looked towards the two, glad that things were beginning to clear up.

Unlike Ten, Kamaria found no problem with his weakness. In fact, she noticed, but mentioned nothing. Not like before, she had also been wounded and struggled with the group. She pushed herself, perhaps more than she should have, but she healed with the help and faith of her companions. This time she was the one who would support him. Looking towards Ten now, the lioness smiled proudly now. After such a scare, she was complimented that he wished to remain with them. "Alright. No more surprises.. Well, at least not scary ones, right?" She let out a light laugh.

More comfortable now, the lioness released a yawn and then glanced around. Things were settled now, but a strange uncomfort still mingled in the air. Quietly, she asked, "Anybody hungry? I can get something for you both. It's the least I can do."

Aten's little joke gained a little smile from her; it was a great relief that she had not acted wrongly. Even better, Kamaria's reassurances, she looked up to the lioness, knowing so little about how to interact with a group. Nuzzling in return, she said softly, "I understand." They both told her she was right, so she felt no need to stay guilty, smiling more as she brightened up.

The only problem Senatla had with Ten's obvious discomfort and weakness was just worry for him. Of the three of them, she was the only one that was not hurt or weakened. The young lioness had all the strength and heart of youth. Looking between the red male and the white and spotted female, she heard about the surprises, and couldn't help but laugh a little, agreeing with Kamaria, "No scary ones" She wasn't a seer, though she didn't believe anything too bad could happen to them now, they all had each other to make sure that didn't happen.

The offer of a hunt caught her attention and she asked, not about to stop Kamaria but still wanted to make the offer, "Are you sure? I can bring back something, I don't mind." She didn't want to strain her friend, even though she was healed, from what she could tell. Still, if thats what Kamaria wanted to do, then she had no troubles with staying behind and getting to know Ten better.

Ten knew that his presence in the group could count as a good thing, creatures who were going to attack others generally do not attack those in groups, and especially not those with large lions like himself in them. He let out a loud yawn and a smile crept across his maw. Aten, the young traveler that he was had finally found creatures to belong too, finally found something of a family. Although it was too early to tell, he enjoyed this group, and maybe..maybe they really could be like family.

"If you wouldn't mind," he murmured and suddenly realized the stiffness in his joints would stop him from hunting for at least a week, he did not like the idea of not being able to contribute to the group, "Do you need help?" He offered anyway. He looked from Senalta to Kamaria, new friends, and soon he would meet the other, preferably not a surprise.

Kamaria quickly shook her head when Senatla made the offer. The memory of their group hunt with Roho was still fresh in her memory and she could not handle a similar scare again. When Senatla had taken down the great zebra male, Kamaria was so scared that she would lose her. Senatla had become much more than just a friend over the time the two had spent with one another. She was much more like a younger sister. Senatla was the family that Kamaria always lived without.

Still shaking her head, but with a smile, Kamaria offered a response, "No, no, no. Don't worry. I would be glad to get you both something. I can't guarantee it'll be anything big, but it should keep us satisfied for awhile." She let out a light laugh. While she was nearly fully healed, she had not hunted much during the time she was weak. It would be good for her to get some practice.

Stretching a bit before heading off, Kamaria offered farewell to her companions, "Well. I shall see you both soon! Take care and enjoy one another's company while i'm away!" And still smiling, the lioness turned on her heal and began to sniff out something delicious.

Senatla sat down when Kamaria rejected the offer. Calling out after her, "Have a good hunt, Kamaria!" Then she turned her violet eyes turned to the red lion before her.

As her tail wrapped against her body, she tired to think of how to start a conversation. It wasn't her strong suite and she was still awkward around others even though she was getting much better being with Kamaria and Roho. She started off, lamely in her mind, "I haven't seen another lion with red fur before, the shade is really nice on you." Searching, she tried to find a better topic, though she did know normally complimenting someone was a pretty good way to start.

Avoiding someone's past was not even a concept, because the idea of asking about someone's past was never done. At least not for her, she knew the rogue lands like the back of her paw, and ones past was always something never or rarely spoken of. So instead, she starts up with something else, " I have lived in the rogue lands since I was a cub, have you been out here long?" She had to wonder if their was a red furred pride out there somewhere, maybe where she originally came from. It was a happy thought, though wouldn't be if she knew the truth of where red was most common.

The earth red male's eyes lingered on Kamaria's form as she walked away and only when Senalta commented on his coloring did he take his eyes off of the silver lioness and back on to the red one before him. "Thank you, I come from a very long line of red lions," he answered vaguely, if only she knew how long a line of lions that really was, "You're a very beautiful red as well, one of the best reds I've seen, and I've seen a lot."

"I was born in the elephant grave yards, most of my cubhood was spent with hyenas and very few lions," he did not want to answer more but it was rude not to respond to a question, "I spent most of my youth in the lands wandering trying to find my parents, and then I spent time with a pride that knew them, and now again I am running..in the rogue lands of our great world." he answered his eyes drooping with sadness and his ears peeled back against his head. It was hard to reflect on his past, hard to know where the future was heading. For now it was with the girls, and this Roho, but soon..? Who knew.

"You've spent a lot of time here? Alone?"

Senalta didn't know anything about her line, maybe there were more red lions but she couldn't even remember what her mother and aunt looked like anymore. He had her curiosity when he said he had seen a lot of red lions, as well as surprised her. Compliments were rare for her to hear, so to get one was a surprise, "Thank you," came a soft reply. Having been so unused to them, she didn't know exactly how she was supposed to react to them.

Hyenas she had only known as bullies and takers of what little food she could normally get, but obviously they all couldn't be that bad if Aten didn't speak of them in bad color. Her ears were always up and she constantly listened with great attentiveness, having never lived in a pride, she was very curious about everything to do with them.

To his question, she answered very openly, "I have, when I was a very young cub, I remember my mother and aunt taking me from somewhere, I don't remember where we left from or if we were going anywhere. One day, while I was very young, I remember my mother and aunt going off to hunt, I decided to catch something myself and wondered off. Since then, I have been out here in the roguelands alone." Looking off to where Kamaria had walked off from she said, "I ran into Kamaria and Roho not too long ago, they are the closest thing I have ever had to a family, my aunt and mother not counting because I was so young when I lost them, and this is the longest I have ever been around other lions." She could see on his face and with his ears that he was sad about it running, or being on his own, she wasn't sure.

So, after sharing her tale, she tells him, "You are with us now, with no pride, this little group has only each other, but I think you'll like it among us." She did, although still a little awkward, she was more comfortable being around a group, and loved how nomadic they were. With just three lions, now four, they only needed enough for themselves so wondering around did no harm. It made her spirit feel more at ease to know that her wondering streak didn't have to stop and that she'd be better off.
