-- AIM rp Kianga & Tejasvi (DFA & Felyn) The days had passed idly, and though Kianga still felt she had a lot to learn, she also knew she was doing fine; slow and steady... she was memorising the customs, and the traditions the pride held to them, surprised to note that most of them... she already had adopted herself (like good manners and treating others with respect), or simply wholeheartedly agreed with.
All in all, it was good, and she wa shappy to have found the secluded pride. It gave her peace of mind and spirit, though she'd still yet to settle other parts of her, like her heart. That could wait however, for two out of three... was a good enough deal to be comfortable with. Tejasvi was helping, too. She'd found a friend in the oung queen; one she'd never thought posible to find again. It was reminiscence from the days she'd spent with her old pride, albeit she'd been barely old enough to hunt alone. She enjoyed the feel of knowing she was surrounded by other females; it was comforting... even if still strange. Having been used to a rogue's life, the pridal ways were a comfort and a comodity.
Today she was not seeking comfort and comodity however, but her friends, near the borders. She knew the Queen was well known for padding them in search of strangers, and she felt that perhaps, she could offer her some comany. Two were better than one, after all... and thanks to the hunting party, she had little concern about food, and thus nothing else better to do.Tejasvi was indeed at the borders of the pride, though she was not so far out as normal. She had made her rounds, looked for strangers, and how now reverted back to her old habit - hiding among the foliage. It did her mind good to get away from the pressure of the pride. Though she could never do it for long, a little while always helped some.
Having Kianga around was a bit of a breather. Instead of dealing whole-heartedly with the pride, she had had a break to teach the girl their ways and she seemed to be accepting it and learning quickly. It was nice to have someone to talk to, especially since Kianga seemed to treat her less like an object and more like something with a soul.
She let out a soft sigh, curling against the familiarity of the bed of leaves beneath her with her head laid calmly upon her paws. It was a nice afternoon, and quiet out here in the dense vegetation of their world.Allowing herself to pad through the jungle with grace, the pink hued female lifted her head; her nose was guiding her, more than her eyes, for within such dense terrain, such a strategy was needed. It was then she caught the scent she'd been seeking, mingling in the air... just like she'd thought it would. Tejasvi had a tendency to creep away whenver she could; to patrol the border, or otherwise just walk. The excuses where always the same, but Kianga knew better. The queen just needed a breather. She couldn't, and wouldn't blame her, however... it was no wonder, for the rest of the lionesses were so used to looking up to her expectantly, that they no longer saw the lioness, but merely the 'Queen'.
"I thought I'd find you here," stepping out of the lush foliage (which was, day by day, getting easier to navigate and hide within), Kianga allowed herself to lay down with Tejasvi, "You seem troubled... did you meet someone during your rounds? Or is it... the same problem that seems to plague you every day?" her eyes softened a touch as she tilted her head; it pained her there was nothing else she could do for her friend than offer her some kind words.Tejasvi found Kianga's smell on the air before the pink lioness ever broke free from the vegetation surrounding the queen. The thought of the lioness seeking her out put a small smile on her maw, for she knew to what purpose Kianga was doing it. She seemed to take a true interest in her distress, and that only made Tejasvi appreciate her all the more.
"I met someone on my rounds earlier, yes," she said with that smile, though it was somewhat weak. She shifted to lay slightly against her new friend, finding comfort in being close to her. It was a basic need, to touch someone when distressed, and being that it was a common practice among the lioneses it made very little differencde to her. "Though I am still seeking a way to lessen the pressure of being Queen - I don't think I will ever be able to rule and be at peace. Perhaps that is the struggle in my soul that I must overcome in this life.""Someone?" her head tilted as she settled herself more comfortably, her side laying against a tree for support; it was nice knowing one could count on the vegetation to hide one's form, even despite the odd coloring mixtures she'd seen around the pride, "You don't seem entirely too pleased about it," she commented with an arched brow. As the queen spoke, Kiango shock her head somewhat, a frown furrowing her features mildly, "Nonesense," came the response as she leant in forward, touching the base of her friend's "That is nonesense; it is true that ruling is... harsh. A change no doubt from what you must've known when you were young. But you were made for ruling. Born to do so. Your soul and you, will both settle," she nodded as if to emphasise the words she'd just uttered, almost as if wishing Tejasvi to see the truth in them, "In due time; that and... well, no being can be alone for ever. Power comes with a big responsabilty, and usualy with a solitude others dare not face. Give it time though, it's not forever. It's only a begining... not an end."

Tejasvi shook her head at Kianga's first words, wishing not to speak ill of a pride member. However, she knew that Kianga would not tell a soul, and she could count on her as much (if not more) than Usha herself. "It is not that I am unpleased," she said slowly, eyebrows furrowing as she fought to push out what she felt, "it's.. that I do not believe she is here for the right reasons. I feel that she does not follow our pride's beliefs, and while not all rogues can commit to it one hundred percent, I feel as if she may not.. commit at all. It is troublesome, but I can not turn her away for a feeling."
Her smile did return at Kianga's words, deep green eyes resting on the lionesses' form as she spoke. Laughter lines crinkled beside her maw, though she merely looked amused - no laughter escaped. "You astound me," she said finally, eyes shifting up to stare at the faint patches of sky that could be seen between the trees overhead. "When you say it like that, I really do believe you. Perhaps you are right, and in time, I will not feel as if I am drowning any longer." Her eyes shifted back towards the pink form, watching her for a long moment, "you really do help me to clear my head."
"She will learn; do not fret.... we all do in time, and if we don't," there was a small pause as she concidered this, just momentarily, "Well, that's her own loss, not yours, or mine," the smile that followed her words was meant to be comforting, "If she feels she does not fit, it is up to her to bow and politely step out, if she so feels inclined to. It's no use for you to worry over... her soul will be judged just like yours, or mine will in the end," after waving a paw, she settled them comfortably crossed, one over the other, "Did you catch the lass' name?"
A chuckle was offered as she noted the laughter lines upon her friend's face. Her lids lowered slightly till they covered her eyes mildly, "Why would I astound you? I talk.... from experience, even if I have never been queen, I know what it is to feel responsible for others, and to have those either not appreciated it, or.... look you up like you are a creature of another plane and not this. In due time though... it'll all turn out for the better," she smiled again, her head tilted to one side, "Doesn't it always in the end?"
"Yes, but it still bothers me that someone would come into our pride with no.. plan to follow what we believe. It's almost as if she might be here to use us as a pride - take advantage of our protection, or the way we work." She sighed, however, and gave a small nod towards Kianga's direction. "Though, you are right, and she will find herself judged in the afterlife should she do this. If she is not careful, however, she may find that her next life will find her as a male." She quirked an ear at Kianga's words, then frowned as she tried to remember the pale lioness' name, "Nadra Zuri, I believe."
"Yes, but from anyone else, I would not have gotten the advice that you have just given me. I usually get answers more or less along the lines of 'You are the queen, you can do anything!'. It makes me grow restless." She chuckled softly, her own laughter finally sprung by Kianga's. "But yes, I suppose you are right. It always works out in the end."
"Hmmm..." she took the words into concideration, narrowing her eyes as she tapped her maw, "That might be the case indeed... however, in the end, her motives are her own," placing the paw back on the floor, she nodded dimply, "It is not for you to take penance of her errors. Who knows, this newcomer may even surprise you yet. Nothing is what it seems and-" she suddenly cut herself off, her pale violet eyes blinking, not once but several times, almost as if whatever train of thought she'd been following had suddenly crashed into a large mountain.
She opened her mouth awkwardly and then closed it, only to try again, this time with more success, "Nadra?!" the word was gawked, "Nadra?!" it was asked again, almost as if she couldn't believe her own ears. The pink lioness then recollected herself, pulling her scattered thoughts back together, "Surely you joke," of course she'd said this more for her own benefit than her own; never implying that what Tejasvi was saying was lie. Then she placed a paw over her eyes and let out a sigh, "Good lord; that girl. I'm afraid to say I know this lass you've dealt with," she lowered her paw and arched a brow, not wishing to explain further less the blue lioness was interested.
A paw was waved at the finaly statements, "Hardly; you are a mortal, like any other. The fact you are queen makes you a leader, yes, but surely not a goddess," letting out a soft sigh she offered her friend a smile, "Of course it will; it always does. One must work for it.... but in the end, it always comes."
Tejasvi had sighed as Kianga began to go on and on about how the lioness was not truly a problem, that it was her own soul she would have to face - all these things that Tejasvi knew, and yet, she still could not shake off the feeling. The look on Kianga's face drew her attention back to what the other was saying, however, and in an instant she realized that Kianga obviously knew of whom she spoke.
"I'm afraid, yes, her name is Nadra. An albino lioness, I believe - very manly looking with all that white," she made a 'tsk' noise at that, but brushed it aside. "Should I feel as if my instincts are justified with her, then? Forgive me, but you do not seem to be jumping for joy at the thought of her being here."
She simply smiled at the last words, nodding as she looked away. It does always work out, and she knew deep down that it would. Kianga just seemed to make her finally believe it. There was comfort for her to find in the other's words, and this was not the first time.

"Oh lord," the lioness rolled her eyes, somewhere between consternation and.... perhaps mild annoyance; like a grown up would feel for a cub that got into trouble perhaps... just a tad too often, "Remember I spoke of two others I'd left behind and wished to check on before coming here? I'm afraid to say Nadra was one of them. She was staying with a male, Ushaufu by name.... I'm surprised to hear she's here at all!" she too tsked mildly, "She made such a fuss about me, and in the end, all for nothing; let's just say your instincts did not betray you, Tejasvi. We did not get off on the right paw, she and I..." she snorted mildly, "I'm ashamed to say I lost my temper with the lass, the moment I met her. First time I had in a very long time, too," she waved a paw slightly as if to dismiss her thought and then shook her head, "The girl had it in her mind I'd come to her den to become both her and her male mate's mate. The male that took me there was helping me recover from my sprain, and the girl.... such a small lass too, so small I have no idea what she was thinking, acting like tht, she procedeed to treat me like a piece of meat. Comented my hips were just fine and my jaw was finely made," remembering brought the pink female to seeth before she shook it all off, "It did not bode well. I was forced to growl at my displeasure. She then took on... a child's temper tantrum and cried in a corner for a day, while the male looked awkwardly out of place and with no idea what to do."
After a moment's thought, Kianga lifted her gaze to the patches of sky, "I wonder what ever happened to bring the lass here. I surely didn't show her the way, nor did I talk of it either.... nor have I any idea what'd make such a.... physicaly inclined little minx to leave her male and join a place where such relationships are not as usual either," lowering her head she smirked slightly, a tug of her maw, "Let's just say I expect some sort of explosion when she sees me... if she ever does."
Tejasvi listened calmly as the other spun her tale abou the lioness, eyes narrowing at certain points as she picked out pieces of the girl's persona that marked her as everything the pride disliked. She shook her head finally, as Kianga brought her mini story to a close, and looked away and out towards the jungle. "Then she will need close watching," she said finally, shaking her head, "I will not tolerate such acts within my pride. I hope, for her sake, that she does well to keep her true opinions to herself." Acting out of character for the pride was often met with self-punishment, but if she didn't believe in that from the start, then it was probable that she would not set it high enough. She would, essentially, be a rebel if she acted out. However, she could only do something if the girl refused to abide by the laws. She had given her word that she would, and for now, that would be enough.
"Well, I hope for her sake that she manages to hold in any explosion she may have towards you. She is of the lowest rank, you are of the highest with the exception of queens, and that would be highly offensive. Not only would she have toh to meet, but you could call her out into battle for such nonsense," she 'tsked' at the end of this, yet again, shaking her head. The entire situation made very little sense to Tejasvi now that she was given a backstory. Why was that girl even here?
"If she's learnt anything from her interaction with me, she'll be polite if anything, and stay away from me, no doubt," she chuckles slightly, almost sadly, "The girl believes me to be some sort of devil's incarnate or something, so aside perhaps an initial outburst, I can asure you still do her very best to stay out of my way. And thus, by complete... association, she'll stay out of your hair as well, I'd wager," she did not explain what she meant, but looked up to the sky instead again. Her words might've been taken in diferent ways however, for the time being it was not explained, "Curious, though, that she'd abandone Ushaufu, the love of her life, as she so claimed, and run all the way here, to hide in a pride that deems males below female standards..." this part of the story did not seem to fit into her mind. So much so that she found herself frowning, "Hmmm... whatever her motives are, I hope, for her sake, she knows what she's doing," turning to face Tejasvi, Kianga furrowed her brow further, "Well, when I met her, I was easily much larger than her, and without a doubt, better made for confrontation. It didn't keep her from acting like the Queen of Priderock, right then and there.... lack of common sense, if you ask me," she waved a paw before lifting it, running her tongue through it through her digits, pondering, "I think her problem is a severe lack of common sense.... perhaps being in the pride will teach her a thing or two, though it still boggles me she's here in the first place."
There was a long pause after that, during which Kianga seemed to drown in thought, grooming her paw. It was only after she settled it back down that she spoke, "Love... is not something that anyone should take lightly, or tamper with."
"Well, politness I can abide by. If she's as fake as it seems she may be, all the better that she'll leave me be by my simple association with you," she shrugged, not really caring in the slightest that the female had labled Kianga badly. She knew the lioness, as well as she could know anyone that she had known such a short period of time, but it was long enough for her to know what she needed to. She was growing fonder of the female with each passing day. "Perhaps this male did something to her? I do not know him, but many females come to this pride after they have been wronged by males. Not all stay, but for a time, it pleases them to watch males be.. demeened, in a sense." It was the truth - they had many members come and go, just to take satisfaction in being better than a male.
"She will learn common sense, or she will suffer for it. Lionesses do not do well here if they lack that, for it often leads them to trouble and more toh than they could ever dream of repairing." She shrugged, sighing softly, but said little else. It was this female's soul at stake - not her own.
"I have never known love," she said slowly, turning her eyes back to Kianga, fondness shining in the emerald orbs for a few moments, "but I have seen it. I do not claim to know how it works, but it is for love that we do not tamper with the relationships that develop in this pride."
"Hmmm..." she wrinkled her nose at the thought, "Ushaufu was not by far... the brightest star in the heavens, and I would not trust him to lead a pride, or anyone by any means, but..." she narrowed her gaze and seemed to ponder, "He was smitten by her, and I doubt it he had much of a say in things. Perhaps he wanted space, and the lass took it as a dismisal, or perhaps they broke up. Whatever the case, the fact she's here of all places seems to to indicate recentment," looking up to the trees she frowned, "And recentment is not good for the soul. Perhaps you are right; she feels wronged and seeks a way of being above males, even if it forces her into the lowest female rank... she is still above males."
Tell truth, she did not believe the pride treated males wrongly; Kianga had always felt them... to not be of particular use intellectualy, usualy, and thus taking them away from leadership was not harsh, in her mind. This pride did what newer prides did, only the other way around. Instead of keeping the females as hunting parties and nannies and the males leading, it did it the other way around. The pink female felt it worked well, and had chosen to stay... not out of recentment for any male, but because she felt... it was right, "Let us ignore the issue at hand till Nadra gives cause for it to be seen otherwise. After all, who knows? Miracles have been known to happen. She might have changed. Time will tell."
She shook her head mildly, offering the queen a bittersweet smile, "I do not know love first hand.... I know the love a daughter feels for her mother, though I remember very little of her," she lifted her gaze to the skies and squinted, as if expecting to see beyond the clouds themselves, "I remember her touch, the way she groomed me... she loved me," a pause as she seemed to hesitate, "She was beautiful. Her pelt looked so shinny, so rich... that the wing markings on her back looked like real wings. I don't remember further than that," turning she offered Tejasvi another smile, "I do remember she told me, once, that love was the most powerful force on this earth; more powerful that Truth."

"Perhaps that is just it then. They broke up and she feels wronged - I've seen them come for less and be even angrier." She shrugged it off, not particularly too interested in what the lioness' reasonings were behind joining. She was here, and what mattered was the now and how she behaved in it. However, her ears drooped as the next wash of words rolled over her, and she gave a nod with her sigh, "you are right, again. I will just have to wait and see - there is still hope that perhaps she has changed her ways. For now, I can forget it."
Tejasvi couldn't help the smile that spread over her mug as she listened to Kianga recalling her mother. She nodded at her words, but looked away. "It was my father that raised me, like all good lions in the pride, but my mother loved me. It was hard for her to show that, for she spent so often training me for this position - but I knew that, at least. Though, the two ways differe between my mother and yours."
"As are you; we are both right. We can both hope, AND keep a look out for trouble. There is no harm in doing so. It's better to be safe than sorry, not to mention well prepared... at the end of the day it is better to be prepared, is it not?" this issue done and over with, the lioness nodded, "Forget it till she gives you reason to scowl. For now, whom said second chances can not be offered."
A pause from Kianga, her gaze parting away from Tejasvi's form, ears flattening back just a tad, "I never knew my father. I don't know whom he is, or was... Where ever he is, was.... I'm sure he too loved me," she smiled and edged a bit nearer till her neck was pressed against that of the blue female, "My mother took me to the pride I grew up in... but never showed up there. She placed me there to be found... and though I've never again seen her, I know she's there. I feel her. Looking after me, even if she's not there," she chuckled, offering Tejasvi comfort in the form of her side pressing against hers softly; it wasn't a hug, but it was close, "I'm sure your mother loves you, like mine did me. It is a bond, I figure, imposible to break. We are a part of them," she smiled.
Tejasvi leaned her body back against that of the pink female's, finding the comfort that Kianga had to offer for her. "I'm sure your father loved you just as much as your mother did - who couldn't love such a pretty face?" It was a teasing compliment, but she simply smiled and leaned her head against Kianga's softly. "I know my mother loved me, but it was not as warm a love as it is elsewhere. She could not afford to relent with my training, my teaching most of the time. It was what I was born for, though, so I have always understood. She loved me in her own way." There was a moment that Tejasvi frowned, thinking back to the big blue lioness that had been attached to her hip once she hit her adolescence. She had been amazing, truly beautiful, and so strong - who would have known she'd die so early. "I felt that bond, regardless of how I was raised. I am a part of her - perhaps I am something that helped her find eternal peace finally. She was, after all, a good queen - if short lived."
She chuckled mildly, "I don't know; I think most newly born cubs don't have entirely too cute a-face...." closing her eyes, she allowed her head ti lean softly against Tejasvi's. Never did she question this, or why she was perfectly okay with allowing herself to be touched... or why she was offering the queen such a comfort when she had not long ago, fought for solitude, using teeth, claws and harsh words whenever feeling violated. Thing was, she didn't feel violated.
Not at all.
In fact, she felt rather comfortable; she'd not felt this comfortable... for such a very long time, "Maybe... she expressed it the way she knew how to; preparing you for your future and for what was to come. Teaching you," she nodded at her friend's words, her tail coming to curl about them, "Indeed... it's a powerful bond. It's a very strong form of love. I've always believed my mother... still loves me, cares for me. No matter where she is, or if she's gone by now," she smiled at the skies, "She was the most beautiful lioness I'd ever seen... I got my pink from her."
A chuckle was offered as she leant in against Tejasvi again, turning her head just for a moment, to groom her ear with affection, "Perhaps she felt her end near, and needed all the time to pass her knowledge down to you. I am sure she was judged well, and so will you, Tejasvi. Despite what you wish to believe at times, I think you're a wonderful queen, and will have time to show this to the world."
Tejasvi was not necessarily too uncomfortable with Kianga being so close to her, in fact, it was welcome. That surprised her, given how distant she typically was from most lionesses. However, she found Kianga comforting, relaxing, and it was in fact not even remotely uncomfortable to her.
"That is the only way she knew how to express her love, I am sure, and given her duties - what I got with her was enough for me, even then I knew that I was lucky." She grinned, tail flickering behind her, as she snuggled up comfortably against the other, "I'm sure you know I've gotten my blue from my mother - you've seen my sisters, after all."
Her ear twitched as she felt the grooming, though it only made her laugh soflty. That was certainly something she was unaccustomed to. "I hope that that is true. I wish my mother the best in the world, but for now, all I can do is concentrate on being the best queen I can be."

She chuckled again, "Oh yes, case pleaded... your whole clan is blue... I actualy manage to stand out more than usual there," another chuckle was released, "Not that I mind in the least anyhow; I have nothing to be ashamed of. I just find it.... rather intheresting," there were other things she was noticing to find interesting as well; the whole moment they were now sharing, for one. It was not uncomfortable; but rather, the contrary, which gave for mild surprise. It was... interesting. An interesting turn of events, was the closest thing Kianga could name it as. Time would tell, she decided as she groomed Tejasvi's ear. She had time to spare... for now at least.
"I think she knows that, and..." she paused the grooming to take a deep breath in, releasing it softly, placing her head against the blue female's, their frames leaned against a tree, "I'm sure you'll do fine. Only time will tell. I've got time to spare..." a pause as a light purple eye peeked open, followed by a mild tug at her maw, a smile that danced in her eyes, "What about you?"
"Well, as long as it doesn't bother you. I think the entire purpose of our pride is for us to stand out - the brighter, the better, and you certainly seem bright enough next to our blue," she was speaking idly, letting herself be calmed and drawn into a calm by the other. She didn't know what it was about Kianga, but there was something different about her that just put the queen at ease.
"Well, I think that I want to be a queen for more than just moving on.. I think, deep down, I want to make her proud." She smiled, her eyes turning up to meet those of the other's, watching her in a peaceful silence. "I do too," she said with a nod finally, leaning into her companion, eyes half lulled in her comfort, "I do too."
