Janus was bored. He was very, very bored. It was Luca's fault too. His boredom had known no bounds since he had been picked up and started living with that man. Luca never did anything, he just lay around and slept all day. Any time Janus asked if they could do something the answer was always "I'm too tired" or "I'm not feeling well". Honestly, how could you always be tired when all you do is sleep.
So here he was, bored out of his mind and sitting in the courtyard at Divinity, the only place Luca would let him go alone. It would be so much better if he had someone to play with, instead he sat there and watched his tail swish back and forth as he tried to come up with something to do.

"I'm gonna draw such pretty pictures! Thanks so much for the chalk Melvin!" Tai said brightly, pausing in her skip to hug her guardian tightly. In her right hand was a small bucket still wraped in plastic with brand new chalk resting inside, all the colors of the rainbow and more. It had been an impulse buy from Melvin on his way home and Tai just loved it.
"Oh Tai, it's no problem." Melvin said sheepishly. Such loving praise was still odd to Melvin, as was the generous urges inside him. Something about Tai made him want to give, perhaps it was how down she looked when ever he got home, before she realized he was there. Melvin worried about her being home with the tudor all day. Worried about her becoming like him.
Tai skipped happily ahead, humming brightly as she wlaked up to the courtyard. it was the best place to draw, she knew instinctivly, but the young girl paused as she saw some already there. Then her grin streatched across her face.
"Ohhh! Hello!" she called out. He was a new friend waiting to be made, she was sure of that. "Hi I'm Tailynn. You can call me Tai. What's your name? I got chalk. Do you want to draw with me? My guardian's name is Melvin. Do you want to meet him? He's super nice. Do you have a guardian? Are you a Sylph like me? What can you do? Oh my god you have a tail! How cool. You're so lucky I wish I had a tail."

Janus had gone into such a daze just sitting there and watching his tail that it took him a moment to realize someone had called to him, and when it at last hit him Tai was well into her questions and ramblings.
He looked at her and blinked a few times before some of the questions actually sunk in. "Uh hi, I'm Janus." most of the rest got by him except for her last comments. "You like my tail?" he asked as he got to his feet and sung about a little.

"Of course! It's so cool. Can I touch it?" Tai asked politely. She may have been a rambler but she was very polite. Besides she learned quicky that not everyone liked to be touched. Some people got very mad and then Melvin started to studder.
She didn't like to make trouble for Melvin, she did that enough at home. Every night at dinner Mrs. Reynolds had another complaint about Tai, but she was use to being wrong. Everything she did was wrong.

Janus smiled brightly. He loved his tail and when other people liked it too, it made him happy. "Yeah you can touch it if you want," he said. It wasn't as if it mattered either she could give it a good yank and he wouldn't feel a thing, there were handy things about not being able to feel.

Tai petted the tail slowly and softly though. She had such heighted skin that she tended to treat everyone that way. Tai grinned as she felt the tail she suddenly wished she had. "It's fuzzy..." she whispered quietly, looking up at him with amazement in her eyes.
"you're so lucky! It's so cool!" she told him brightly, "I wish I had a tail. I do have this hair thing, see? most of my hair is purple but this part is blue." Tai pointed to odd colored lock of hair. "My tudor thought it was fake and told me it was wrong to dye my hair." she bragged, it was one of the few times someone had to admit she was right! "So what are you doing here? Where do you live? Do you have a guardian? Are you Sylph? Do you like chalk?" Tai rambled.

Janus grinned as she pet his tail, even if he couldn't feel it, it was nice to be appreciated.
He looked at her hair when she pointed it out and as he did she launched into her questioning again, making him blink some more as he tried to catch it all. "I live in one of the buildings over there," he said making a gesture in the general direction of the apartment that he and Luca lived, "I have a guardian but he always sleeps and isn't fun and yeah I'm a sylph... chalk?"

"Oh I'm sorry. Boring guardians must be sad. I'm lucky. Melvin is lots of fun and he spends lots of tiem with me, though soemtiems he has to do stuff like school and homework and be with his Mother but he spends lots of time with me." Tai said happily, pulling back from his tail after a while. Her hand was starting to get a little raw from petting it.
"You don't know what chalk is? Come over here I'll show you!" she said eagerly, tugging him over to her small bucket and holding it up. "See you can draw with these. I love drawing. Do you like to draw?"

Janus need to be tugged, this was much better than the nothing he had been doing before Tai showed up. Even if chalk itself proved to be boring, Tai was rather interesting herself,
"I draw a little," he said answering her question, "but I'm not very good at it."

"Melvin says I'm real good at drawing. I dunno if it's true or it's just Melvin being Melvin." Tai admited easily, chattering it up as she tore open the chalk, handing him a peice as she grabed some. She quickly spread the lines over the ground, smiling at the image she could already see there.
Tai had an artist's hand and a lover's heart.
She kept on going, drawing more as she could chatter along at the same time. "I really like drawing, a lot a lot. It's one of the few things I don't do wrong." She didn't do completely right ether but she didn't do wrong at least. When you did everything from breathing to eating wrong finding anything that was not wrong was a relief.

Janus took a piece of chalk as well and began to draw on the group next to her. He nodded as she spoke, he understood how nice it was to find things you did right, or at least not wrong.
His lack of feeling had been a bit of a problem, he had broken numerous things, mostly glasses when he tried to pick them up but wasn't holding them tightly enough. He had made a lot of messes in the same way too. It was always nice to prove he was capable of something.

Tai's drawings were comming out fine as she changed color quickly. All of Tai's drawings had an explosion of color. She liked color, and didn't get why people would want to do anything in black and white if they could do it in color.
"I love colors. What colors do you like? I like blue, and reds. They're really pretty and bright. See my hair is blue? And part of it is purple which is red and blue mixed together. Melvin says when I'm older I can have some art lessons but I don't know what those are. I hope it's fun. I like fun, don't you?" she asked him.

"I like lots of colours," he said as he drew, switching between colours himself, "there are so many of them you know, like a million shades of blue, like my tail and your hair and a lot more." Janus was good with colours, his eyes gave him that benifit.
"I like fun too," he said, "But I don't get to have fun a lot, my guardian is really really boring. But this is lots of fun"

Tai was overjoyed with her new compianion, already he seemed to understand her, and her likes. It wasn't something the young girl got a lot. Since she attached herself to such different people, like Melvin, or Demi, both of them were different to her and of course didn't get what she liked but Janus did.
"Melvin is fun, but he has school. I hate it when he's gone. I don't like to be alone. His home is really big. You should come over some time because it would be fun with a friend. Now I got lots of people there but they can't talk to me. So that's boring. Why is your guardian boring? Does he not play with you? That's not right, guardians should play with you. Melvin plays with me, when he can of course. He has lots of stuff to do, and stuff." Tai chatted along, it was easy for her to talk for hours without really stopping or saying anything all that important, but she enjoyed talking and had a sweet voice.

Janus too was quite excited about a new friend. Nothing as special as an understanding but just to have something. Tai was amusing and very much so.
"Luca is boring cause he sleeps all the time, and I mean all the time. Harrison is much funner, he is Luca's brother or something and he plays with me every time we go over to his house. His house is huge too it's really fun to run around. He's got a pool, its really cool." he said. He was starting to get the hand of this talking quickly and answering all her questions and the like.
