 Nanu hadn't seen the outside for a while now. She had been counting the days she had stayed inside doing things for her parents and having others take care of her- but. She just about had it with it all. She loved the excitement she had with going outside! Laughing and playing... the friends she made. She wondered if they still knew her.. still.. after so long being locked away.
When all were asleep... Her soft ocean eyes opened softly.. Her ears slicked up quickly.. She looked around the darkness of her pack.. One next to the other and her siblings beside and around her. Her tongue softly found her lips edges.. And her tail began to wag. Finally she could escape this place- from what she thought for the moment or at least just one night.
Her paws slipped forward, finding the little gaps between the pack's skin tight members when sleeping. The look outs- she knew how to get past them hopefully.. maybe they had fallen asleep as well? To her surprise the guards were out of their normal poses... Slowly she slipped by the members.. and then finally. She jumped over a member 's mother's tail and was almost home free. Her tail wagged in the air as she made her way down the path that had been set as always.. She stopped and felt the breeze in her fur.. Her ears flapping in the breeze.. A smile came to her maw -and down she went through roockiest of paths that made way for the watering-hole. Where she met her friends.. but. None seemed to be there... Her head lowered as she got to a rock that settled in the water's-shore. She looked up - then around.. A sigh came to her.. then she looked down in to the water.
Her markings.. from what a traveller placed on her.. She stuck out now. More than ever. Her body slowly moved in to a lay position.. her head on her paws... and looking at the water.. Stealthy move on her part.. getting past her pride pack.. but her stomach turned... Was she forgotten by the world!? The always humble and smiling pup thought hard ...

Gin had slipped away again. That was his point in life-to get away from the 9 siblings he so hated being around. They were loud-annoying... stupid. He didn't care for them one bit. He walked now, with his golden eyes narrowed-intent on getting away from his Mother and Father-so busy with his family they were-that they would not miss the white and silver pup... not for long anyway.
On he went, intent on doing anything but wallow with his family. He wasn't sure of the direction he was going-in fact he didn't really care. Mom would find him. He stopped occasionally to sniff at something that smelled interesting-his narrowed eyes relaxing-as he got farther and farther from his family. He was at ease now.
Now as his time to shine. Only, he was sort of parched from all this walking in the sunlight... but he could smell water-bonus. So he hurried his pace, his head bobbing as he went-a small hum from his maw. Today would be a good day.
He caught sight of her.
He had never seen such a thing. Such unusual colors-with those gold marks. He stood looking at her, before he wrinkled his forehead and moved along the path towards the water. She looked intent on staring at herself... and he would probably do the same as he drank. She was pretty.
He stopped at the waters edge, gazing over at her. "Something wrong?"

When she heard a voice- her ears went up and she turned to see.. Oh my~ What - what the. Her eyes large and she smiled greatly and not even seconds later she wagged her tail happily. She had no words but her gestures and her body language showed more than enough. She jumped to her feet and hoped to him. Her eyes hid when she closed them within the smokey gray color of her body.
His words what joy it gave her to be accompanied... Then she opened her pale blue eyes to see the majestic designs he inhabited... She had never seen anyone with a white nose before.. and his body reminded her of her dad's white coat. With no further emptiness or distance she walked up closer to him- close enough to almost touch his nose if a breeze went by and pushed her. She was.. rather short for her age and it didnt help that she had stood out with the markings either but at the moment. He mattered to her- to aid his question he asked before she shook her head and made weird noises as if she was talking but .. it was weird. They weren't words but more splurches of weird noises.. but they were soft non the less and looked up at the boy with a goofy smile. As though seeking more of his words.

Gin gazed at the colorful female curiously. So far, she wasn't as annoying as his siblings were. He admired how nice her marks looked on her slate colored body... way better than the pale-white and silver marks his father gave him. He could not help but smile at her happy antics, as she sprang over to him. Then-the response he was expecting to hear-did not come. But... sounds came. He blinked his golden eyes at her, but the kind smile remained.
It was unusual for anyone to see him be nice and kind to anyone really. Truth was, he was a rather bratty, mean, soul... but this girl.. She was cute.. and something made Gin's usually gritty attitude much more pleasent.
"Er-ehehe.... You can't talk can you?" He asked, hoping he wouldn't offend her. He padded up to her and nosed her nose, almost making sure he didn't hurt her feelings with is question. But she seemed to be expecting something-perhaps more talking? "Doesn't matter if you can't talk... I am glad I found someone out here other than my siblings.. I was getting really irritated with them-but now that i found another Wild Dog... I can actually have a good day without them in my fur....

When he nosed her- it was.. weird. She never felt that before, well. From her grandmother grooming her but that was about it, surprise filled her face though.. non the less she was happy to see another too. Planting her rump, she lifted her paws to her chest.
When he had come to realize- he was the first one ever to notice that she couldn't talk right off the bat. Others would make mean comments or not even play at all. Or.. pretend and never come see her again. That was her problem, but.. he seemed. Accepting... And from deep down it over through her heart with joy.. She tilted her head, her face showed now a sigh of a look- longing, and somewhat confused on how he automatically knew...
Then when he said it was fine by him, her face lit up again like the sun and that goofy smile then inhabited her face once more. Making the again weird soft noises, then the slim sound of giggling.
Gin. His name hit the back of her head and then slammed in to the front, what a name that was... So short. Like hers!!! Others were way to hard to remember.. SHe tried to say her name but then again, hearing her sounded like rambling noises of a mouse-but she caught her self in mid noise making. She looked down.. then as she done many times before she made a lil space beside her, in to the rough dirt. Planting her paw in to the ground and drawing out her name, her ears pulled back as she concentrated.
*N.A.N.U.* When she was proudly finished she tapped the end letter and turned up at him. With a bright smile and her ears flying up. To see if he approved.

Gin smiled at her. She seemed to be happy with is touch... which was unusual for him-his siblings didn't like it when he touched them-because it usually was to shove them away or something. Gin chuckled, his golden eyes shining. He gazed down as she wrote, his ears twitching foreward as he said her name aloud. "Nanu... Your name is Nanu then... Then... Well... I suppose you could have had a longer name-then you'd have to write it in sand alot more... considering letters and stuff..." He said, sort of rambling, before he sat up on his hind end as welll in imitated her, his white feet against his chest. He stuck out his tongue in a silly gesture-he then sat his front paws back down.
He stood up and nosed the water, drinking for a moment before stepping into the cool water. He gazed down at his reflection, before looking back over to her. "I've never seen such colors on a fellow Wild Dog before... it's neat... I am used to spots, grey and white... thats about it... My family wasn't very... wide ranged in the colors section of life.

She giggled when he said her name and nodded. When he copied her, she didn't even notice, rather she batted at his paws and even followed him to the water's edge.
Then she stood there watching him in the water. Taking in the water.. she found herself starring in just pure wonderment. He was talking and she was gladly to hear. With a bright smile. Then .. he went in a lil.. and Nanu just stayed at the bank. Her tail wagging low now.. because of how many times the wtaer would try and consumer her whole but she didn't want to show any sign of being scared! That wasn't her.. So she went a little closer.. And looked at him.
Nodding when he complimented her colors. In which the tattoo designs that she WASNT proud of.. but of course. Hoping that acceptance was on her side with this one.. Why? She didn't know. More than ever she wanted to be accepted by this Wild pup. There wasn't pups that came here often. Just her pack and her sibling and herself. Wee the ONLY pups. So far.
She lifted herself up on the bank and pawed out to him a bit. Trying to tell him that his fur looked just as nice.. but only minor sounds came out of her maw. With a look of sadness- that she couldn't tell him what she thought. Then she tried a smile at him to try and lift up his spirit. Just a little bit anyway.. All colors could be obtained! Even if you weren't born with it... She looked at her own fur as she looked down.. then looked back at him with again a smile. Her tail slapping itself to each side of her rump. /b]

Gin gazed over at her and laughed, staring down at the water. He made a few funny faces and stuck out his tongue at himself, his eyes crossing. He then pranced a few times and went out of the water-his tail wagging in pale in the light. He nosed her again. "It's rather nice... your colors-but are the weird yellow marks natural... did you get born with them?" He asked.
He decided that he would ask her mostly yes or no questions-since after all-she could not awnser. It was something he was growing fond of-made him all dominant for talking the whole time-his male side showing. It made him feel-like he was all knwing and awsome and the best.. and he liked it.
And he liked her. He thought her to be cute-how she made those little noises. "I tell you-it is rather nice to have made a friend who wasn't like my siblings in anyway... I rather like it-I rather like you... " He said, looking over with a smile. "Even if you can't talk to me... you know how to respond so that I know what you mean... thats a gift

She shook her head at the yellow marks question. she was rather embarrassed of it.. and it wasn't her fault she got it. It was forced upon her.. In a horrible night. She shook her head again and made a weird noise yet again.
Then her ears fanned forward, then up once she heard the next words come out of his maw. What? She hoped that what he said was true because she liked him too! Well, in her thoughts liking meant friends. When he nosed her, unnoticely- her cheeks became a different shade from what her coat was and she giggled happily at what he said. Nodding softly - til. A gift..? She looked up at him quickly. With a feeling of just joy. Just.. treasured with his words that she held dearly.. She - to convey her feelings. What better way.. she leaned in to his neck a bit and nuzzled his neck softly. Smiling brightly.
Her tail wagging- to the extent on having a friend whom.. was so welcoming to her disabilities. then she giggled softly and a bit warm to just be a normal laugh of a girl whom had many friends. It was special.
Her ears fanned back though when she heard the sound of thunder- she looked up from where she was -to spot dark clouds coming straight towards their part of the forest..

Gin gazed at her and furrowed his brow-he wasn't sure if her expression was one of anger-or distaste. Perhaps those marks were not born traits but those of force. He cocked his head and nodded-not sure what else to say about those marks-but he'd avoid them until later. He blinked his golden eyes and shrugged. "Eh... They don't match your fur anyway... your fur is the pretty part. Anyone could see that."
He smiled when she nuzzled into him-being he so young and fragile in mind-he was sure he liked this girl... alot. Truth was-he didn't like alot of anyone. Nanu was something else-something he could see being his friend forever.
His head lifted as the distance thunder rang-his ears twisting. Her clicked his tongue against his tongue. "I hope that storm isn't going to be too horrible. My parents would be upset if I wasn't home when It hit... "

She blinked softly and nipped at his chin... She pawed at his neck a bit, signaling that- they should take cover. Before the storm comes.. But then when he said about the fur. She blinked and nodded in acknowledgment- but the pretty part came to a surprise, blushing brightly as her tail wagged.
Then she came to realization and looked up again. It was the forest afterall.. and what comes with forests were large down pours for the luscious tress. When the sound of thunder hit closely she went in to an overprotective mode as she did with her family. Her reaction time was slit to a second as she pushed both her paws to his side and pushed him, then got on all fours and ran in to him a bit. Nudging him quickly and then slipping ahead- bounding off in to a large leafed bush that settled next to a tree a couple of feet away, waving her tail around and making weird noises- and jumping about to get his attention.
She patted the ground underneath the large leaf that led in to a tree's bark-lifted roots. It was a small cover- just the right size hopefully, she then bounded off to him again, wiping around Gin's back side as rain started to become heavier and heavier. Nudging him along- her ears draped down and her fur become as wet as the ponds that started to form.

Gin smiled as she seemed to fuss over him-happy with his words. It was strange-he could talk to his brothers and sisters and his words did barely a thing-only hurt usually. HIs godlen eeyes shut at her touch-boy she was nice. Like-his mother nice, the way she kissed him and swooned at his good looks-but only... Nanu wasn't his mom. She was diffrent-but better.
As the rain came-he looked at Nanu with a look of confusion-water didn't really bother him much at all... but with her repeated actions he guessed she wanted him to come over there as well. So he stood, shaking the drips of water from his maw-and padded over too the shelter of the leaves. He laughed and looked at her. "You aren't scared of the rain are you?" He asked.

When they gotto the shelter.. She didn't just wiggle off the water. Instead she let herself soak because of course she didn't know better. She looked up then looked at him- huffing..
*scared of rain?* Rang through her ears- and she shook her head in nay...Well. In her mind..But she might secretly have a conflict with water... but not even she knew. But for now- that wasn't what got her adrenaline kicking. It was. She stood on her hind feet- and then smashed them in to the ground imitating the sound of thunder..but on the wet mud. -And not only seconds later There was lightning striking..
Her fur stood up and then she lowered her ears- cowarding between his front legs, Positioning her forehead against his chest. Shaking a bit.. A weird sort of sounds of whimpering came out.. As she burried her head in to his chest. She could still feel the sound inside her spine of how much she feared the sound that was SO very loud and made the ground tremble. She put one paw beside her muzzle-that was on his chest, and the other she accidently put on his paw. She didn't have sharp nails at all.. so when she curled her paw in to his.. Making quiet whimpering noises.
An explorer at soul but still femme at heart..

Gin gazed down at her and took his paw-bringing it over her neck and shoulders-in a comforting gesture. He nuzzled her with his pale nose-sensing she did not like the thunder-as her demonstration proved to him. He cooed quietly-hoping she'd be alright.... perhaps he should help her get home-just in case the rain and storming did not stop for a long time. He nuzzled her...
"We should get you back Home Nanu.. this storm could be here for a long time-and I don't want you getting hurt or anything... should I escort you back home?"
He asked, his golden eyes alight in the rain and darkness. He nosed her again-lifting his head to scent the air. He didn't smell anything of danger-other than the water rising where they had been before. He didn't like that sound...
"Or at least-we should find higher ground..."

Nanu looked up at him.. nuzzling in to him more as he spoke. She softly got up a bit.. planting her paws on his shoulders now. Looking at him then nodding. She then..in her heart she let it ride- curling her paws around his neck tightly.
For her it was dangerous! She knew that sometimes.. with lightning and thunder.. Fires could even happen.. When he mentioned 'her home' < She looked at him with wide eyes. Shaking her head quickly. she slowly slicked away from his arms, sliding next to him and looking around.. Her paw raised over her head- moving form each side.. Showing that higher ground would be best. Then she planted down. She saw the water rising.. but once exactly when the water rose and touched her paws.. She remembered how the many times that she almost drowned. Her heart raced.. and thumped so hard that she could collapse.. But. He was there.. She looked at him.. Then looked up at her pile of rocks across the way.. Where her family was. The cave..
She can't go back now! They would snag her away and she wanted to stay close to him. She nudged against him a lil.. then head first she jumped out. Looking about and over cross the watering whole.
It was flooding.. She looked back at him. Making some odd noises- trying to be loud but it only came out in squeeks. She nosed the air- showing him the pile of rocks.. Next to the whole.. The rain soaking up her fur and making it almost turn in to a black color completely. She jerked her head towards the rocks.
Piled, white stones, covered in vines.. with holes in it where she used to to play hide and seek but this. Was different. No play. She was looked at him and then the water rose over her paws..The memories of drowning.. she looked down. and was in a such a state of shock. She stopped moving altogether.. thunder hit the ground behind her- surging through it as it hit. Her eyes wide to the water.. and when the thunder it.. what could she do. Frozen...of any actions.
