Ok, so, I have a problem, and I am sure most of you have this same problem. Civilians who don't know what freedom cost's, and blame the military/government for whats wrong in the world. Well, this is what you get when you cross a U.S. Army soldier, ignorant civilians, and a really long day. Enjoy, tell me what you think.

"Personally, as a soldier in the U.S. Army, alot of you ignorant fools piss me off. If only our government had some balls, it would suck to be you, the ones who say "drop your weapons, let them win." But, I guess I have to deal with it, don't I? I have to deal with your attacks against me, against my friends, my family? I guess I do. Thats why I get paid, to defend freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, habius corpus, the right to life. You all enjoy it so freely, yet, you forget who bought you those rights. Wasn't it the Continental Army, under Gen. George Washington who bled, and died, for your freedom of speech? The Devil Dogs of World War One, the war to end all wars, wasn't it they who died so you could practice your own religion? The right to vote? Maybe it was the sailors of World War Two, at Pearl Harbor, those men who were innocent of any crime, other than loving their nation, wasn't it they who were straffed, bombed, burned, and drowned, so you could burn the flag that they so valiantly defended? Maybe it was the Airmen of Korea, Veitnam, maybe it was they, who met they earth at high speed, their planes burning, their chute unresponsive. Maybe it was they, as the thought of their family's, the ones they would never see again, who paid for your right to harrass soldiers, mob their families, soil their graves?

I guess you just don't know what it feels like, to buy other's rights, with your life. If you support YOUR soldiers, let us know, we appreaciate it. If you don't, may God help you, because I won't want to. But hey, it's my job."

My opinion doesn't count much on this matter seeing as how I'm Canadian but I do agree that it's ******** up that people can do exactly what you described in your post. It irritates me that a lot of people my age(20) are like that that I encounter. Yeah I'm Canadian but I support the American troops as well as my own. But it's kinda obvious I support the troops seeing as how I created this guild, huh?

Your opinion counts very much, I don't care what nationality you are. All of us are american's by default, whether you live in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, or any one of the smaller nations, we all share the North American continent, and a attack on one of us, is a attack on all of us. Besides, I have much respect for our northern neighbors, they have been good allies for a long time, and I personally know a Lt. in the Canadian Army, so, it's all good. Thank you for your support.

The worst thing I have ever seen, well maybe not the worst, but bad, was when I saw a picture of a soldier holding a flag upside down and had written very very negative stuff on it.
Pissed me off like no other.
You can hate the president, you can hate his decisions, but that is no reason to disrespect the flag and with that, the country.
Why the hell would you be a soldier if you hated the country that much, it goes against your oath.

Ive seen several people like this, and yes, it annoys me to death.. I wish I could just grab them by the neck and choke them to death, but I cant. We are fighting for their freedoms as well as our own. Its our JOB to protect their rights, no matter how they use them.

On a related note (not the original topic, yet), some commanders require Junior Cadets to salute all military personnel regardless of rank. Also, from a civilian being called "Sir" is a sign of respect. Especially in uniform. That is, unless it is a Drill Sergeant when the conversation can be overheard by their ward.

Now to the original topic:

In the south, we aren't really bothered all that much, but in many parts of the country they don't like us to be seen off post in uniform for any reason because of the threat of "those who don't like us very much" as it was put by my former 1SG when I was stationed in VA. It isn't like we didn't stand out, but both in and out of uniform we usually moved in large groups to deter any potential threat.

Ah, well. Such is the fate of those who offer everything for those who are blind to what it really means. I really wouldn't mind a mandatory two year stint for the sake of making sure everyone knows what it is like. Even on a smaller scale.

Am I the only one that finds it hilarious, the idea of a civilian picking on a trained soldier of the world's most powerful army? It's completely unnecessary!
