Call of Duty 4 and Super Mario Galaxy were tied, so I flipped a coin for this, CoD4 was Heads and Super Mario Galaxy was tails... Needless to say it landed Tails... Super Mario Galaxy is the "HEY! Listen to our GotY!" Game of the Year.
