This is what I wondered in Gaia : how many martial arts we all know? I think there are about 150-250, but I do not know what their numbers are going to reach! So I'll run this tread with every martial art I know and I would ask every member (and visitor) of this guild to post under my message the martial arts they know a bit about! I hope I will be impressed with the numbers...
(P.S : When you post something about an art, describe it a bit, it will add some flavour)

Trust me despite what the film "the best of the best" says TKD is not karate.

You don't have my style up there, but not too many people have heard of it. I take chidokwan karate-do: (chi-do-kwan) means house of energy. It was created about 30 years ago by Shihan Bob Eller and Renchi Liberto. The style brings elements of shotokan, tai chi, tae kwon do, kick boxing and many other styles together to create a style that has both hard and soft motions. Focuses on self-defense, sparring, kata, and basics. The first person to achieve black belt from white belt in this style was Papo Villarrubia, who is a very distinguished martial artist. He now owns his own studio in Rochester NY. He also went on to study many different martial arts styles. The first female black belt in my style is 4th degree black belt Marian Kellogg. Who is also achieved black belt in Hakkaru jujitsu.

Here's a few you missed. Shinto-Ryu (Karate) Iaido Hwa Rang-Do Soo Bahk-Do Moo Duk Kwan (Not really much of a style. It's more of a different version of Korean Arts. For example, Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do is more old school Tae Kwon Do than the Olympic style of Tae Kwon Do taught today.) Cha Yon-Ryu Choson Kwon Bup Gicheon Mun (A.K.A. Kichun Mun) Kumdo (It's like a Korean version of Kendo) Han Mu Do (Hapkido)
What really surprises me is that no one said Boxing yet.
