 Rules1 - Do not post without my permission unless you are: --Ephy! On shop account or otherwise. --Dropping off a gift (see rule 2). --Sure that I'm done reserving. Otherwise, feel free to drop in and say hi, and (hopefully) RP! 2 - Gift rules! Well, if you wish to drop off a gift (I love you!) you have the option of either PMing me with an optional message and said gift or (if you're an owner) dropping it off yourself. Either way, remember to be in character. However, if you're dropping it off yourself, be prepared to receive a PM with a new image URL in it so that I don't leech your bandwidth! 3 - If I have given you the responsibility of being a temporary caretaker of Rachael for me while I'm on hiatus (if Ephy says 'yes'), you may either RP using her in this journal, in a RP space, OR in one of your own journals (ToR or not). Just remember not to be OOC for her--I'd probably have given you some quick notes on the plot so that you won't be in danger of spoiling my plans or being too OOC. 4 - Obey the ninjaly domos! About Rachael
 Name: Rachael. Rii bestows upon her the surname of Lachetti. Emphasis on middle syllable. Meaning: Rachael means 'innocent lamb' in Hebrew, or something like that. Lachetti comes from Rii's birthtown, long destroyed by floods and famine. Ooh-er, now there's an example of bad planning. Stage: Rachael is an infant, although her vocabulary is not always that as befits one. Likes: It's too early to tell what Rachael truly likes. Dislikes: We're not sure what Rael DOESN'T like but Rii doesn't seem too high on her list right now. Punishments: Only time will tell.

"Family" (aka "Rii")
Rachael has but one guardian--the elusive Ritika Lachetti. Charged by her company to get the little rascal off their hands, Rii--as she is known to most--serves as a rather incompetent surrogate parent to the little ToR. The less said about her, the better. Other (albeit part-time) caretakers remain to be found. Unfortunately. If only, if only Rii actually KNEW how to parent, or perhaps if she cared...

 MemoriesSeeing red, Rael attempted to attack her guardian with a kitchen knife. Seeing blood, Rael shielded herself emotionally. This first sighting of new blood has resulted in no new memories, as the shock lent itself to erase Rael's memories of the incident. However, when throwing a rock (also at Tika) drew blood... Mos/Rael RP Blood, Rael thought to herself, shivering from head to toes. It was scary, she hadn't meant to, she wanted Tika to go away somehow but not with blood. It was so sticky and - somehow she knew - it never seemed to wash out properly. That time she had STUCK him, stuck him like a pig for blood pudding, the thin slivers of skin peeling gently and--it was so--she saw it in her mind, the round, thick puddle of scarlet death forming in the center of the wooden floor. The door beckoning behind her, and then she went with a goodbye. It was left behind for a token, a souvenir, and then she was gone, but NO, she didn't want to know -- she tried and failed to block the influx of memories flooding her, the blood, in great arcs and eddies, and he I LOVED YOU ONCE but some things never last WHY DIDN'T YOU so sorry I really couldn't have known THE GREAT SHINING OF -- and somehow, through the swirling whirlpools of memory, a voice spoke to her, mature, female, softly hoarse and seductive. "Things can only frighten you to the extent that you let them." She knew that it was herself, somehow...

Nuttin' here! Name: Rachael. Ironically, the name is Hebrew for 'innocent lamb', implying purity.
Gender: Female.
Personality: Something of a packrat, Rachael clings to her beauty and possessions for stability. To remove one of these items from her for any length of time is to invite injury, for Rachael will go to any length to get back said item. Easily aroused to jealousy, willing to hold a grudge for years, stubborn, selfish, unwilling to open up to others until they've established their own loyalty, Rachael may be rather hard to get along with at first. But those who manage to win her trust are rewarded with a dog-like loyalty that can be rather tiring at times to both parties involved. (It doesn't help that often Rachael thinks of her friends as items rather than people.) Despite her flaws, this ToR can be a great friend--she loves parties and shopping as well as philosophy!--although she often 'judges books by their covers', and isn't always very considerate.
Appearance: Unadorned, shining brown curls surround a small, pale face, accentuating the green of her eyes. Rachael tends to wear a taunting smile upon her full lips--if she's even smiling, that is. Her rather-simple dress reflects autumn in color, and a gauzy scarf is tied about her slender waist. The most striking aspects of her dress would probably be the fake wings--held on by leather straps decorated with golden bells; although not by any means an angel, Rachael has always wished to fly--and her abdubant jewelry (the girl loves gems, in particular malactite and tiger's eye). Her arms and anklets are loaded with light bracelets/anklets, although only light necklaces encircle her neck, for, to Rachael, anything heavier is associated with collars.
Wrong-doing: ((Lil' happy key here.))
She was initially a wonder of a child--beautiful, rather precocious but otherwise sweet. Afterwards, historians would say that it was only her circumstances which led her to do such terrible things.
But those who lived with her had no such sympathetic thoughts. Born into a rich, powerful family, with a lovely mother and an awe-inspiring father who held fertile lands close to the border, Rachael was one of the nobles, the 'fortunate'. However, her gambling-addicted mother was ill and barely-seen, and her father--quick-tempered to his family--verbally and physically abused the child, when not ignoring her. It was small wonder that Rachael would grow to hate her father as vehemently as she did.
In her late teens, Rachael took advantage of her mother's death (and the ensuing chaos; said mother had left a tangle of debt) to escape to a neighboring country, where she (now an atheist; later in life she desecrated the God's worship-places, killed priests/blessed, and so on in self-stated "revenge") eventually married an up-and-coming young man. After her husband rose to a suitable position within the government, he died a suspicious death, and Rachael took advantage of her newfound freedom to collect a string of paramours. She had by now become a stingy middle-aged woman, cruel to servants to the extent that none wished to serve under her, killing all who opposed her, unscrupulous. To punish her, the Gods kept her lands barren, reflecting Rachael's own infertility (she had born children before, but had chosen to kill them rather than nurture them; perhaps this early menopause was another punishment of the gods, although it was nothing but a blessing to Rachael), but the lady paid no heed to these warnings--for she had inherited her mother’s unfading beauty, and she knew that as long as she had this, she could accomplish (almost) anything.
In the midst of all this, Rachael's homeland started a war with her new country. The ambitious woman enlisted in the army as a spy, and traveled back to her former home to learn its military secrets. As a passable citizen of both countries, elegant in manner, obviously of great status, she found herself invited to multiple parties held by both sides, and in fact was recruited (also as a spy) by her homeland as well as the country to which she had escaped so many years ago. By the end of the short war, she had already betrayed both countries, grown considerably in wealth, and had succeeded in seducing and murdering her father as well as countless others who had stood in her way. Knowing that she was no longer safe in either country, weary of the hardships of the world, the lady Rachael attempted to commit suicide on the border between her two homes at the ripe old age of 41 (although she was deprived of this pleasure, as the gods killed her before she could stab herself). Even in death, her beauty did not fade.
Punishment: The ToR has regular nightmares about her sins. Also, her precious beauty is marred by several red spots under the eye where her father's heartblood sprayed onto her. Rachael feels 'haunted' by the malicious spirits and memories of those she seduced/killed/mistreated (if this is mere imagination, it's especially vivid). She cannot bear the touch of cold steel, or body contact beyond the ordinary (unless it be with one who truly loves her, and whom she herself loves; a rare happenstance, knowing Rachael), in memory of the weapons and ways with which she wreaked her havoc.
Last and not least, when Rachael glances into a mirror (or a few other reflective surfaces), she sees not herself but her father, or sometimes her former husband (the one person in her life who truly loved her for what she was, despite the fact that, even during their marriage, Rachael was already blatantly adulterous)--the first person she killed, and the last. Remembering these two tends to temporarily increase the potency of her other punishments, as well as bringing upon visions of blood. (Rachael despises the sticky scarlet liquid, and will go into hysterics upon seeing some of her own.)
Powers: Rachael doesn't have any distinct memories of her former life to begin with. The effects of her punishments may trigger memories, and some aspects of her appearance--for example, her fake wings--may also help her to remember her past. One of her bangles (the only wooden one) in particular may have this effect.
It's hard to tell if her beauty is a power--she keeps her beauty as she ages, but this may simply be genetic rather than supernatural. Rachael does have rudimentary mind-to-mind skills, though--she can't really communicate mind-to-mind in words, but she can project basic emotions.
