-- RP Log between Tejasvi & Kianga [Felyn and DFA] It had been a few days since the young queen had seen the pink lioness, though she still felt that the girl would be returning to them. She often made a trip out to the edge of the jungle, peering across the lands, before she returned to the heart. It was a busy business, being a queen, and the trips out into the peaceful borders were as much to look for the companion she had met as it was to get away from all the fuss for a little while. It was hard, being a queen and not exactly knowing all the comforts she had when she was younger. Even her sisters seemed to treat her a little differently than they had when they were all growing up. It couldn't be helped, really, but she did hope that one day she could find a companion that would treat her more like an actual being than a queen. Even queens could ache for companionship.
She sighed as she reached the border, deep green eyes peering out across the savannah that stretched beyond the jungle. Perhaps Kianga would come today - then she would at least have something to take her mind away from all of this. She laughed softly at herself, shaking her head as the thoughts passed her mind. What would Usha thing, the little social butterfly? Tejasvi was sure nothing of this sort ever plagued the other queen. Indeed; today was the day. Kianga had finaly settled her affairs beyond the horizon and though she had every intention to keep the ties (for after all, as far as she was concerned, Ushuafu and the lithe white minx were not two beings that could be left alone for long without fear for the worst), she was glad to be back. She wished to give these lands, and this pride a try. She wished, from the bottom of her heart, that this be the place she'd been seeking for so long; as it was though, she could only hope. As the jungle appeared before her, the pink lioness paused in the middle of the savvanah, her purple gaze raising in the air, her eyes scanning the skies as if for a signal before she closed them, took in a deep breath, reopened them, and determined.... padded towards the trees. She approached at a harmless pace, for despite the fact she had a royal invitation, she knew guardsof prides were prone to acting first, and asking later, if they saw themselves threatened.
Kianga was proud of herself in the sense she was quite certain she knew the etiquette needed to approach another pride's lands. She was thankful to note a familliar scent even from a distance, and thus she lifted her head and made a formal greeting like any lioness would have; she roared.
She roared so her position would be known and would not be a threat while also issuing a greeting. This done, she proceeded to enter the jungle and trees she'd never once set foot in.Tejasvi heard the roar resound through the air, a smile spreading slowly across her maw. Indeed, the female had returned as she had said she would, on a day that Tejasvi needed a little distraction as well. She lifted her own head, letting her roar spill out in answer of the females, cracking through the silence of the jungle. With a small nod, she shifted to head a little more into the direction that she had first heard the pink lioness. Careful, deft paws propelled her forward through the tangled underbrush of the jungle.
Glimpses of pink through the green leaves surrounding her told her the lioness was near, though her scent was strong this close regardless. With a soft smile, she moved to break through the tangles and webs of leaves and vines, presenting herself to Kianga with a soft bow of her head. "Welcome back," she said kindly, tail wavering slowly behind her as she stood before the familiar figure. As she stepped into the jungle, the first thing that came to mind was that... well, everything was much darker inside. The sun fltered through the trees eeriely, making it hard to see or make much sense of her surroundings. Kianga wasn't quite sure which way was left, right, in or out, really, after she'd taken just a few steps inside. The queen found her sooner than she found her and though she bowed her head slightly, a smile graced her maw, "I'm back; thank you..." taking the innitiative, she padded forward so she was face to face with the other female, "I tended my bussines outside the lands, and though... I would like to check them every so often, just to make sure I keep them out of trouble, I am free to stay, so to speack," this said, she looked around the dense foliague, "Would you be so kind so as to show me the way?" a pause followed, after which her ears twitched, "I must admit I am at a loss, so feel free to tell me about the place; where I am needed, what I must do. I'd be honored to do whatever you wish."Tejasvi nodded at her words, shifting her eyes to stare past the female and out to what little parts of the savannah she could see through the leaves this close to the treeline. "It is not uncommon for males to live outside the pride - they do not want the way of life that males inside live, and that is alright," she turned her eyes back to Kianga with a smile, "it is fine that you want to go check on these others, we will not stop you."
"This way, then," she turned, her tail wavering as she waited for Kianga to catch up. She could understand the inability to navigate through the jungle - few rogues ever managed to make it towards the actual pride itself simply because of the dense and dark jungle. Those of them that had grown up there found it much easier.
As they walked along, Tejasvi winding through the jungle along a path that was unrecognizeable to any eyes but those who travelled it regularly. "In our pride, there are three ranks for females. Rawal, Gasht, and Shikar-i," she said calmly, slow that Kianga could hear, "based upon the coloring of the female herself. You fall into the highest, the Rawal, though the council will have to make that decision officially and publicly." She glanced to her, nodding slowly, "we are warriors, we lionesses. Your rank is reserved for guardians of queens or matrons, or leaders of the warriors." She knew it was a lot to digest, and it would take a long time for Kianga to learn everything about the pride.

Navigating through the jungle, was indeed hard, however, Kianga had no doubt she'd grow used to it. Just like she'd grown used to being a rogue. It was only a matter of time, patience and perseverance, "That would be marvellous," she smiled as she followed Tejasvi, "I would like that very much; I feel it is my duty to keep them out of trouble. Specialy the albino girl I left behind. A visit now and then would be nice. Even thouh I have no obligation towards them."
This said, she found herself taking in her surroundings; her new home. Taking in every aspect of what she saw and storing it into her memory for later processing. She wanted to keep it all stored so as to make a mental map of the trees that formed the jungle. Granted she knew it'd take a while to get used to walking about the place, alas, it was better to start as soon as posible.
An ear then twitched towards the queen as she spoke, her gaze swiftly falling on the pale blue form that diligently lead the way, "Coloring?" she paused and looked upon herself, her head turning to gaze at her wing markings; the lioness of her old pride had told her she'd been found one day... one sunrise, when the sun had blinded them, suddenly, she'd been there. Thus was why she'd been named Kianga. Burst of sunshine, "I'll honor whatever rank I am placed in," she spoke firmly as she turned her head, and then smiled softly, her maw offerng the queen a true smile; one that reached her violet eyes, "I hope that ranks do not interfeer in whom I am allowed to mingle with? I would very much like to remain your friend. You are the first friendly face I'd seen in so long."
She smiled, glancing back at the girl, "I know how it is to feel like it's your duty to protect someone, although mine happens to be a very serious obligation." She nodded, turning her bright eyes back ahead of them, peering through the trees and vines as the two of them got closer and closer to the pride lands."You're free to go to them and come as you choose, though a little bit of.. a notice to whatever clan you choose would probably be nice."
As they wandered, the trees around them seemed to grow a little less dense, until they came upon what seemed to be more or less a clearing in the dense vegetation. As big as it was, there were still quite a few areas with isolated clumps of trees, and it was obvious these copses were used as dens. Her tail flickered, glancing back to Kianga. "This is the pride," she said with a nod, a smile on her face. It made her proud to know that these.. were the lions she was meant to lead.
"Yes, coloring," she said with a small nod, "we believe that bright, unnatural colors are for a female. Natural colors are for males, and lionesses are ranked according to how much of each color they have." She blinked slowly, then shook her head, "No, the ranks do not keep anyone from talking to anyone. They are there to keep others in line and to keep the lower ranks from disrespecting their betters," she shrugged slightly, glancing back out at the pride, "but Rawal is the highest, besides the queens and their heirs, so you should not worry about that."
"Well, it wasn't the same for me, as it was for you though," the pink female smiled pleasently as she padded along with the queen, "I felt obligued, because they helped me," he lifted a paw slightly for the queen to see, "I fell; clumbsy me," she rolled her eyes as she continued, "Twisted my ankle in a way I could barely walk. Let alone hunt... and in that time of need, they helped me. I repaid them with what I could offer; insight, advice and protection once I was cured, because honestly, though their hearts were in the right place..." a pause as she frowned, "Or at least one of their hearts anyhow, they weren't the brightest stars in the heaven."
It was only when they arrived at the clearing that Kianga stopped talking in order to inspect her surroundings; it was beatiful, and already she could smell the scent of other females in the air. She'd not spent much time there, but as moments passed by, she was more and more convinced that she'd picked and chosen correctly, "How I missed this..." she motioned towards the dens, "And the air; it's all lovely."
A pause as she looked over herself and nodeed; ranks. Well, she'd learn more of that in due time, for now... "You mentioned something about clans and needing to chose one; I might ask what clan you are in?" a brow arched; after all, she'd found she'd instantly liked Tej, and picking out the same clan as the blue lioness would be suitable, as far as she was concerned, "If it is allowed, I would like to join that one."
Tejasvi let a slow, amused smile spread across her maw at the other's comment about bright stars. "Well, I certainly know how that is," she said quietly, "the duller stars, I mean. There's a few lionesses in this pride that I must admit are not quite as bright as the great stars either." She chuckled, glancing at her paw, then slowly shook her head. "I understand what that must have felt like, feeling that you were obliged to help them. I've never been in that situation, however, because here we offer help without expecting anything in return. It is done for the betterment of our souls, and thus, you should never feel that way towards anyone."
Tejasvi watched her calmly, eyes resting on her form as she took in the site of the pride. It really was beautiful, which was why she originally thought that her ancestors had chosen here to build the new pride. After so long as nomads, this place must have been like heaven. "It is beautiful, and now it will be home for you."
Tejasvi laughed softly, turning her eyes to stare towards the center of her pride. Her clan copse was a long walk still, unable to be seen from the clearing's border. Here, where the trees just began to thin, there were males. The queen was given a large amount of space and eyes that were not turned elsewhere were humble, respectful. "I am of the Nihang clan," she said with a final nod, "and as the matron, I welcome you to it. Would you like to see?"
The smile that haunted her lips came alive, followed by a chuckle, "They're even in the bst of familys," she shock her head mildly, bemused, "Lord help them. Lord help us all; I remember we had a few like that back in the old pride.... we didn't let them hunt. THey'd give away our position accidently," she waved a paw, almost as if trying to rid herself of the mental image, "Everytime they went out, it was like a buffalo-wreck."
As the other female spoke, Kianga nodded, once, twice, "Ah, see, but you are a pride. Inside a pride, it wouldn't have been like that. They were total strangers when I found them, and they offered to help," a pause, "Tit for Tat, I figure you could call it," if anything, it was clear that she knew the baser, finer values of life, "I like that idea.... for the betterment of the soul."
Still she took in the scenery, and the smile that played her lipes became wistful, sweet, almost like that of a mother looking over a child, "Home... that sounds nice," at the laughter, purple eyes fixed on the blue female, a brow arching, the smile still tugging at her maw, "What's so funny?" myrth colored her voice as she nodded however, refraining herself from doing a small little dance. She was THAT happy. Everything was just right, "Yes, i would, very much so. Please do lead the way," she could not, however, keep the small spring from her first two steps. Excitement for her new home buzzed inside her frame, and only later would she be able to kill it off hunting. For now, she was content to dwell in the happiness.

Tejasvi smile only widened at the store Kianga laid out for her, her mind imaging scenarios where lionesses ruined the hunt and brought down all sorts of disasters upon the huntresses. "Well, they are not of my clan, so their hunting concerns me very little," she said with an amused smile, her tail snaking behind her slowly in her idleness. "Well, it is good that you helped them instead of leaving them alone," she said finally, eyes shifting towards the males of the pride. It would have been interesting had she been in the same situation. Helping males was.. not something she was accustomed to.
"Laughing?" she said with a raised brow, though it was teasing. She began to move, in a rather elegant stride across the lands, nodding her head as they passed by clan copses and some of the females called out their greetings. "I laugh because most lions treat me much differently than you do," she watched the land before her as she walked, calm and content in the depths of her home. "To them, I am the queen. You treat me like everyone else." She turned her eyes upon Kianga with a little smile, "it's nice."
"Well, that's good, because honestly.... there are so many buffalo-wrecks one can take before going insane. Take it from me," she chuckled as she padded on through the trees, her gaze shifting to regard the few males that lingered there. Most of them didn't seemed to watch the queen; they turned their gazes away from them with respect... and those few that did look, bowed their heads. It was... interesting, and odd to Kianga, but she rather liked the attitude she was seeing from the pride. It was a group of individuals that seemed happy, content and each in their place. It was a nice, welcomed change, to say the least, "I had to. My conscience demanded it. If only for a short time."
She knew things in this pride worked diferently; much diferently, and she found herself looking forward to exchanging stories on idle days as they got to know eachother, "Yes, laughing; your voice had myrth in it. Something entertains you?" she, unlike the queen, did not answer back the calls. She didn't see it fit, but instead nodded her head and bowed it slightly when she deemed it appropiate. Tej's words did catch her attention soon enough though, "Diferent?" a pause in her step, however, Kianga soon picked it up again, "Well..." her gaze moved to peek through the leaves of the trees, the sky seemed.... so far away from within the jungle, "It is my belief that everyone should be allowed to be... oneself. You are a lioness above all... you may be a queen, but you are made of skin, and bone, just like me; I would not like it if everyone deemed me diferent due to a title, or lineague," she paused as she tried to organise her thoughts, "Granted, some moments demand respect, and action, but outside those moments, it is your right to live your life," she smiled back, "I'm glad."
Tejasvi simply nodded, of course, though the smile still twitched at the corners of her mouth - as though she were fighting not to smile. Back inside the pride, she needed to be much less open about her emotions. "Well, if you continue to treat me this way, then you and I will certainly be closer than any of these lionesses here are to me, for I am their queen and that is often all they remember." She nodded slowly, her eyes saddened as she remembered the days when she played with them as cubs. They were long gone now, and most of them acted as if they had never happened.
"Here we are," she said with a grin, pausing outside one of the largest copses of trees they had passed by - right at the center of the pride's clearing. Blue lionesses lounged around, spotted with some random colors here and there. Some of the trees had been strung with vines of flowers in ways nature couldn't have created, though it was minimal - there was only so much a lion could do with paws, after all. "The home of the Nihang clan." In the depths of the copse, it was dark and cool, very little light getting even in the height of the day.
A chuckle from Kianga as she padded alongside the queen, "Well, you are my queen, henceforth, but I would still like to treat you... like a friend, if you'd so let me," she could see the hints of a smile twitching at the sides of Tej's maw, and instantly the pink lioness decided that it'd be interesting to exchange stories with the Queen. She had, after all, much to learn about the pride, and many questions bubbled up. They could, however, wait untill tomorrow, after they'd rested and come to terms with not only the surroundings, but with themselves too.
As they arrived to their final destination, Kianga chuckled softly, "My, my, lots of blue... I stand out like a sorethumb," she lifted her head to sniff at the vines and flowers before turning to look at Tej, "I like it very much," a pause followed, however, the hesitation lasted only a moment; she'd promised to treat her like a friend, whenever the ocassion permitted it, and... well, she had to be honest, "Tell truth, I've beent ravelling for a while; the den those others had was a long ways out from here, and my muscles are a bit sore the journey. It'd love to take a nap and res myself," she smiled wryly, apolepticaly before nodding towards her surroundings, "I'll need to be fresh and prim to take in all the info I need to, so a rst is in order; am I?"
"I'd love for you to treat me like a friend, as often as possible, situation permitting," she said with a small nod, the joy shining deep in her eyes. At her next words, however, the queen glanced around slowly. "I believe rest is just what you need after so long travelling," she said with a small smile, nodding her head towards the center of the den, "the center is where I sleep, with my sisters near me. Feel free."
"I shall," she smiled before bowing her head a notch in a formal bow before padding past the blue form and towards the den in question. She felt she truly needed to retire herself for a while, in order to rest up. There was much to learn, and much to see, all in due time. That was the last of her thoughts as she entered the den, found a small cozy corner and curled up; it was soon after that a cozy, uneventful sleep took her, and in her dreams, she was no longer alone.
