Yeahh my bd says how my crayons are in your crayon box? and then it means like dynamics cresendos and decreshendos and stuff like that. so he told almost every sections first chair to play this song, then when we ended, he was like, how bout for our logo tee shirt this year it'll have an empty crayon box. then everyone was like oooooooooo. I walked out of there like "i just got told by mr.V!" (bd)

yeah, Blue Lake Fine Arts Acadamy, Solo And ensemble, Jazz band,Lessons, and i'm joining 2 symphonies next year.

Not really, just lots of scratches, unfortunatley, i'm not the most graceful person xd .

Yeah, like i said up there^ i'm not the most graceful person, so it gets hit by like everything, and i have too many scratches to count. sweatdrop Like one time i ran into the practice room door, and then in the same day i ran into the...whatever t's called, thee xylophone but the table that it sits on.

heck naw. My neck looks all wierd.unless my neck is perfectly straight, i look like a frog neck.
17. Best compliment for your playing?
My bd told me that if he moved me up to 8th grade that i'd still be 1st chair, so either i'm really good, or the 8th grade sucks, either way i take it as a compliment. mrgreen
18. Weirdest instrument you've ever seen?
Idk what it's called, but it's like some kind of clarinet, that is basically like an oval of silver and it's crazy, i had to ask ben what it was, and then he(knowing everything about instruments) had to go ask his mom.
19.Tap your foot?
all the time, yet in some school they tell you not to cause it's babyish or somthing. idk, but our Bd encourages it, and you'll get a bad grade if you don't.
20.Least liked section?
Percussionist, nothing agaist you guys, it's just the ones at our school are pretty bad, except for like 2.

Umm, i made this thing from scratch, so i'm going to say it's pretty spectacular. idk what you think, but his took me like a good 30 minutes,
and my sister is bugging me to get on the comp, so it'll probalby end pretty soon.

pretty much, other than 2 people, the other people are stupid.

Yeah, some people from my old school think i'm geeky, but i'm just kind random, so yeah i'm the second one.
25. How long does it take you to set up your instrument?
Like a good 2 or 3 minutes, i't a saxophone, so first you put on the neck strap, then you kind your reed and suck on it, then you find your cork grease and rub in on your cork , then you put the mouthpiece on the neck (which you put the cork grease on) then trake the reed out of your mouth and put it on your mouthpiece, then you hook your neckstrap onto the saxophone, then put the neck on the saxophone. Yeah...it takes a while.
26. Do you practice, or are you talented enough were you don't have to? or are you just lazy and have no talent so your like last chair?
Umm, i guess i have talent, i'm first chair, i really don't practice unles i have a new song, but i do take lessons. Which really are a good idea, they help you alot.

I have both. well not really, i have friends in band mostly. But i met my bf in band through my sisters bf. Cause ben is my sister's bf's best firends youngest brother. Yeah. biggrin

Not in mine, but the guy that used to be enxt to me got his mouth piece stuff in the top or his saxophone.

there's only five horns this year. We didn't get any freshmen. sad And then half will go into the other band.

I don't have too many dents, at least, not by me. My flute has a scratch near where the head joint connects to the main body, as one time when my little brother decided to leave my case open, it fell out when I picked it up. My trumpet's school-owned and my horn has a few scratches and maybe a dent or two from God knows where. Most of the scratches are where your hand goes in the bell (someone who played it before I got it wore a ring on her/his right hand)
16.Do you look good while you play your instrument?
probably not. I don't even look good when conducting - I have some weird, twisted smile on my face and I bounce with every beat
17. Best compliment for your playing?
I get a lot from my mom (she likes my piano playing). My band director complements my horn playing every so often. And a few times my piano teacher's said I played really well (he never complements, so even his tiny hints were surprising).
18. Weirdest instrument you've ever seen?
I like all instruments

I tap my left foot when I play horn (as you can't really tap your right when playing horn), my right foot when I play flute, and nothing when I play piano

as a whole? I suppose the trumpets. They irritated me a lot last year. They're all great people, though. They just seem to have the musical ability of a six-year-old (at times)

I take lessons on piano and I want to take lessons on horn, as I think it'd help me a lot

nothing for piano, and about a second for my brass instruments. Flute takes about ten seconds (although it takes about 5 minutes to put away with all my swabbing and polishing)

I didn't used to practice, as I had no reason to. Now I practice quite a bit, as I've had a lot of solos lately (on horn - I never get around to practicing my other instruments except for piano, which I practice quite often)

one. the stupid freshman tenner player stepped on my BRAND NEW cymbal (that was not even on the ground!) and poped it. so when we turned it back, there was a dent on the bell.

Bb clarinet, alto sax, and I'm learning trumpet.
2.It's name is/is going to be-
My first clarinet was Louis. He got donated to the school when I got my new one.
My new one's name is Philippe.
My alto's name is Jacques.
And my trumpet's name is Claude.
3.What chair?
Right now, I'm not sure. We're getting new chairs this week; I'm not in the first seven chairs, but I'm not last, either. So... somewhere between 8 and 15.
(It's a class of mostly upperlcassmen, though, so I didn't expect any high chairs.)
4. What classification does your BD rank under?
The really nice one-on-one, but will beat the hell out of you in groups.
60ish years old and can still intimidate 350 high schoolers all at once.
5.How many in your section?
In marching band, 26 altos.
In wind ensemble (aka, my concert band class), 16 clarinets. (There's about 16 in each class, and there are three classes. Do the math.)
In jazz band, 6 altos.
6. What brand Instrument?
Buffet clarinet. (My first was a Selmer. Selmer>Yamaha)

Bach trumpet.

I don't know. Probably "Cloudburst" just because it was the most screwed up song ever. Like. Out of 70 wind players, none of us knew how it was supposed to sound.
Although "Postcard" was a pain, too. For the first 60 measures, it changes time signature every measure or two, then it has a few places where the band is playing in two different time signatures at once... Nyehhh. e.e;;

And there's this loser guy that thinks he can sing and play his clarinet really well. He sucks. Really badly.

Actually i try to hurry up, because i unpack it in the storage room, and the storage room is like a big closet. ITS WAY TOO SMALLLLL!!!!!! and when you unpack your intrument there are other saxophone players behind you who are waiting on yoU! So it takes me, at maximum, 20 secs to unpack it and put it together.

OMFG!!!! its sooo crazy in marching band.... ezpecially with 130 people to train and take care of... i will only tell you 1 though..... i remember we were at a football game and the band was sitting in the stands, as we always doooo and my friend dropped her saxophone through the stands and it landed on the the ground about 6 feet below.... i could she she was going to cry when someone behind said "oh that sucks... but its ok it happens all the time, trust me."

YES! My mom and I both play horn, and she was a band director.

Ya, my friend and I have this inside joke of randomly licking our mouth piece (again don't ask why)

Its silver now, but I'd want it to be rose brass for a darker prettier sound.

Blue Lake fine arts camp, solo and ansamble, school band camp, hopefully next year IMEA.

No my horn has natural beauty, but for pep band, I want to paint my mellophone the school colors.

I am extremely careful with my instrument, I treat it like baby, and I've gotten into a habbit of holding it in a position that will keep it from dinging off the walls.

heck naw. My face looks a little wierd with the correct ambusher, but from far away, I look pretty good.

I'm extremely picky, and my horn teacher says I'm way too hard on myself, and says I work extremely hard.

Musical saw.

30 seconds I open the case put in my mouth piece, I'm done.
26. Do you practice, or are you talented enough were you don't have to? or are you just lazy and have no talent so your like last chair? I practice when I have too, usually I don't have to though, cause the musics easy. I will practice for auditions, or solo and ansomble, to the point where my lips will bleed though.

Almost all my friends are in band.

Nope, I'm the one pulling the pranks on my friends. (only if they diserve it though)

our director dosent want a marching band cause he's a looser (but he's still cool) for concert, its a black shirt, with a black skirt going all the way to your feet.
