Moranna woke with a soft whimper of pain as usual, she always felt bruised up and stiff with cold. She tried to snuggle into whatever was close but that didn't help her feel much better. She gave a little yawn and staggered to her feet looking around in the darkened den. It still smelled like her father, she knew he came around and poked his nose in at night, but wasn't sure how to ask her mother about it.
Slowly she let her eyes adjust and tried to get a feel of what was going on around her this brisk morning.

--- From across the dark den, Necrala stared at the small pile laying in the leaves that was, by default, her brood. Her head was laid in her paws, and despite closed eyelids, she was indeed conscious. Just, watching. And wondering. Wondering if at any time they'd suddenly (and to her morbid delight) drop dead and leave her be, wondering when that lousy wolf of a father of theirs would come to retrieve them, wonder why she was cursed with them in the first place.
--- Grey eyes ticked up to watch as one of the pups awoke, the mother herself shuffling a bit in the leaves, enough to bare her chest to the pups. She knew the morning routine.
From the pile of sleeping pups Mastilan was snuggled on one side of her sister, an ears flicking back in slight annoyance as her only source of heat in the cold den moved and finally left. Arching her back the pup let out a soft yawn, showing the newly acquired puppy teeth they all had as well as the flick of a pink tongue. What was she doing up? Twas much too early.

((I figure it is my post now, if not, I'll delete this until it is.)) Undead blue and corpse gray/silver mass of fur shifted about, the warmth that was produced by the two femmes that slept to the young male pup's back, moved. The bright blue ribbon running down his shoulders twisted behind a ghosty M on his upper front legs. White eyes blinked open slowly, in the midst of silver and white ribbons, the young pup let out a very fangy yawn with a recoiled pink tongue.
Shaking his head, the male blinked the main part of the den back into focus and looked towards the largest form in the den, the mother to his siblings and himself. Puffed out chest the average sized Mahli with a, cat-like stretch, stretched into a standing position. Mahli's cheek hurt from the small gash on his face, and his chest along with his right shoulder, but that didn't keep the little guy down.
No words came from the little silver maw, but like the feeding that his mother gave them, he mechanically moved over towards her, as if sensing the unloved care rippling off of the corpse colored femme.

Moranna limped weakly over to her mother and pressed against her warmth with a soft whimper. She couldn't understand why she was looked upon with distaste and left unloved. Never would her small mind have imagined her own mother would like to be rid of her. She pressed her blue paws against her mother skin and licked lovingly.
"Morning Mommy..." She muttered softly and waited hopefully for some tenderness. The little pup had steeled herself to ask about her father today and he hoped her mothers mood was amiable.

--- 'The clingy one...' Necrala thought, watching the tiny little femme nuzzling against her corpse-like fur. She was the smallest of the three, and despite having plenty enough milk, seemed to be the sickliest as well. Even in appearance Moranna was damned, somehow out of the three pups she looked the most like her, which made it even harder to deny her kinship with them.
--- Ears flicked back momentarily at the thought, and the mother looked down with slight confusion and apprehension at her daughter. Did she expect something of a reply? Was she seriously ill? Neither of those she could respond to correctly, so, with a push of her nose she wordlessly nudged Moranna towards her chest where her brother was already suckling.
But apparently it wasn't for her two siblings, the pup soon found out as the residual warmth from her brother's proximity soon left as well. Grudgingly Mastilan rose to her paws, bright blue eyes widening and contracting to adapt to the light of the den. The pup shuffled towards her brother, giving him a soft friendly nudge of a greeting as she latched onto a teet for some breakfast. She was aware that her mum didn't care for her, her father no less, seeing as how he was never around. The only thing she didn't see was how Moranna could be so oblivious to it, but then she didn't really have the heart to burst her sister's bubble.

Mahli pulled his head to look at both of his sisters as they approached, both at different times, but after giving a half-hearted good morning greeting smile. The blue and silver-gray head turned back towards the teet he had been suckling from.
After a few minutes, the little ribboned male let go and stepped back. He was full, for now, and moved to sit down among some of the dead leaves. Blinking and looking around with his bright white eyes the little male said nothing. He would speak in his short monoslavic tone once one of his sisters came over to paw at him, but until then the little male was just look and sniff the air that filtered down into the den.

Moranna drank her fill while gazing at her mother unable to understand why she and her siblings were treated so coldly. She licked her little chops and sat back huddling slightly against her siblings for warmth and courage. She had to ask, why her father didnt come in at night, why her mother seemed so distant, and why they always had to be in the dark and cold. She steeled herself with a little breath her lungs filled with the frigid air that surrounded them.
"Mama?" she coughed a bit and struggled to get her words out. "Mama when will daddy come down to be with us? Why doesn't he come in at night?" She had managed to ask her first question.

--- Once the tiny female had gone to eating with the rest of them Necrala brought her head back upon the leaves, staring blankly up at the ceiling. This was how it'd go until Mu-, that wolf came to retrieve the little monsters. She hardly doubted that they were worth that male's threats, and the thought of the encounter brought a cold lump to her throat. That's what she got for not leaving earlier, not being en garde as usual. She'd never make that mistake again, ever.
--- Swallowing, the femme averted her eyes, turning with a mild curiousity as her pup began to speak. She couldn't help but let out a weary, cynical laugh. "Your father? Come down with us?" She started, a disgusted smile coming over her gruesome features. "Your father is a no good louse. He'd never come down here! But he will coming for you three soon."
Mastilan, the last one to wake and thus the last to feed. At her mother's nearly cackling growls the pup unattached herself from the teet and looked to Necrala with a mixture of fear, confusion and curiousity. What did she mean?
"What?"

At the words of his mother, Mahli tilted his head and stood up. He, just like his sister Mastilan, didn't quiet catch all that. "What did you just say mother?"
This bothered the young male greatly, "Why would we want to go with a lazy no good louse?" He didn't even know what all those words meant, but he didn't think they were good. Well since nothing good came from his mother, besides the milk for nourishment, but everything else seemed to be negative.

"Mommy, Daddy did come down though, I know he did. He comes in at night and leaves you breakfast and I can smell him all around us all the time Momma!" Moranna didn't understand why her mother sounded so strange with her laughter and upset features.
"Daddy is coming for us?" She frowned and looked at her mother confused.

--- How naive were the minds of pups! Day after day they woke to her near aggressive attitude and defensive nature to their so-called 'father', and they hadn't questioned any of it until now? She nearly laughed at such!
--- Her mood sobered at the young male's inquiry, and with a cold silver gaze she looked towards him. "Life is no question of want and get, learn that now and save yourself alot of trouble, all of you." Necrala glanced around the den. Their first life lesson, far easier than she was taught.
--- "But never to stay, Moranna. He'd rather not dirty his paws with the filth of what he's done." The femme sneered, glancing towards the entrance to the den. "But he is coming for you three. He'll take you to his wonderful pack and you'll be kept away from the 'monsters'. "
With every snarled comment Mastilan winced lightly, ears flicking back and an eyebrow raised lightly. Why would he come to take them? What was so important about three young pups, and what monsters was her mother speaking of?
Oh dear, it was all quite confusing, and the pup, nudging herself against her brother for support didn't believe that she wanted to figure any of it out, because whatever it was it wasn't good.

Looking to Moranna he could see that she was using up alot of her strength with asking these questions and their mother cared nothing about such a feat. Mahli was proud of his sister for trying, but then again saddened at the prospect of having to fight with their mother just to get a lick of truth.
Spotting the look from Necrala at him, Mahli turned his head back to peer at his mother. "Obviously," he muttered, bitter though the mention of monsters in the woods, intrigued him more then anything else that came from the corpse colored female's maw.
Tilting his head, Mahli was half tempted to ask about the monsters, what they were and so on, but when Mastilan pressed against him for support. The little male just sat their giving his sister a shoulder to lean on, and he offered the same for Moranna.

Moranna took a shuddering breath in and frowned looking slightly confused but more then anything worried. Their father would come to save them from the monsters and take them somewhere wonderful? She tilted her head and tried to speak up again.
"You'll come too though Momma? You won't leave us?" She didn't want to go away and leave her mother to the monsters. What if her and her siblings were the only things keeping them at bay? She leaned against her brother her energy drained, it took a lot out of her just to speak let alone to do so forcefully standing.
She breathed shallowly gazing at her mother with hope in her eyes.

--- Deep down Necrala felt a small tug at her dead heart at what she assumed for a moment was the child's concern. Then she thought better of it. She was the provider, without her the pup must've deduced that they'd go hungry, that was her only reason she showed concern. For herself.
--- The femme should her head softly. "There's only room for you three there. I'm not going."
Such strange prospects! How could it be that their mother would leave them with their father, all alone? And in a 'pack'? Why couldn't they all be together as a family. If anything, just for Moranna's sake!
Didn't their mother see how tough it was just talking for her? The dead-furred pup gave a hesitant glance towards her younger sister, didn't she care for her at all? Massy didn't know much about normal life, nor families or social workings, but she was her youngest pup! That had to count for something!

Mahli glared at their mother, would she really want to stay alone? This he didn't understand, just like he didn't understand why it was always just the three of them keeping each other warm, him placing himself in the way of the cold air trickling in to keep his sisters well. The only thing Mahli saw at that moment was a wolf suppling nutrition to keep her corpse gray hide upon the bones. He didn't know his father, but something told him that he would do whatever it took to keep his pups alive.
Looking to Moranna and then to Massy, Mahli turned his head back to his mother. "Mother, why do you not care?" the words came out of his mouth accidentally at the moment that Morry snuggled close to him.
