Adain wasn't entirely sure what he was doing at the park. Well it really wasn't so much the location, since he'd been at the park lots of times, especially after his transformation from player to family man, and even before then just to scope for chicks, but now he wasn't entirely sure. Reiha and Adain had reached a new peak in their realtionship. They were dealing with each other, tolerating each other and Reiha had a very tiny ammount of respect for him.
It was going great.
But then Chel had to push it. She thought that Reiha was getting lost in the shuffle with the twins and the marriage and all that other stuff that she might not be directly related too. Adain thought Reiha liked it best that way but Chel had been reading all sorts of parenting books. (Man it was hard to ask for sex when she was doing that.) So now they were having a 'bonding moment'. Which meant he was sitting on the bench looking at jogging woman (always a fun past time, ring or no ring) while Reiha kicked around at the park.
And she was bored. Reiha saw no purpose in the park if Berial wasn't here. The grouchy girl, content with her single friend, saw no reason for this whole endevor. Why did she need to bond with Adain? Yeah she respected him more, she didn't verbally abuse him or ask to live with someone else like she did in the first few months but still...Why did they need to get closer?
Now Adain was watching women, would proably bug Chel into the act of sex (something Reiha wasn't enitrely what it was only that her heart froze every time she thought about it) as soon as they got home and that would be the end of bonding. She hoped it came soon.
"Why don't you go on the swings?" Korbin asked shifting a bit in the sand pit where Reiha currented resided. The dark crow hated to see Reiha unhappy, even such an unhappiness as boredom. "You like swings." And it was a solitary pursit. Korbin's golden eyes watched the other kids with distain and fear, he didn't like Reiha to be with others, it just encouraged her to trust people and that was never smart, they just hurt and betray.
"'cause they full Korbin. No point in that." Reiha muttered, "When one gets free maybe, I'm fine right here. Adain will go home eventually and then we can go back to my room and read up on spells." Her favorite past time.

Arya hurried towards the park, her father (or itay as she called him) Linneas in tow. The Tale struggled to keep up with his rambunctious and quite possibly hyperactive daughter, but he couldn't blame her. Winter was always the worst time of the year for them. Especially the past few year's, but he pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind. Arya hated being cooped up at home with nothing to do or anyone to play with.
Sure there was her aunt Paestri and the various sprockets and Avitus, no wait, not Avitus, the feien disliked Arya the most of all the residents, but still Arya needed someone her own age to play with. At this point, she wasn't picky, hell if Avitus had been willing she'd have played with the anti-social Feien! Now that it wasn't as cold as it was, Linneas didn't see why he couldn't bring Arya to the park to play.
The little girl certainly had more than enough energy to burn. When they arrived, Arya frowned to see her favorite swings were taken and the long line that had formed. She wasn't in the mood to wait, she had been waiting for days now and she didn't want to waste another second. Letting go of Linneas' hand, Arya half-ran, half-plowed her way towards the least crowded section of the park to play and run and do all sorts of things to move around.
It just so happened she ended up accidentally kicking sand towards the lone figure with a small bird. Not exactly a large amount, maybe a few grains or so.

Korbin didn't like any sort of intrusion, so he called out to the little human he thought of as a boy. The dark crow flapped hard, golden eyes glaring as Reiha reached up and snatched him. "Calm down Korbin! He didn't do anything to us. Sorry kid, Korbin doesn't like...people. He gets aggitated easily." Reiha said shortly, glancing to the boy, not really looking close enough to realize the mistaken gender.
"Let me go! He attacked us!" Korbin cawed, flapping his wings in his prision of Reiha's arms.
"He didn't attack, he just was running, now apologize Korbin!"
"No!"

Arya wouldn't have been afraid of the dark-colored bird, hell she'd have swatted at it if it had come any closer. Before she had the chance to do anything about the approaching bird, its owner had already gotten hold of it. Arya would have just waved in dismissal at the apology since nothing really happened and she was still eager to go and play. But as the owner started talking to the bird, Arya frowned.
It was not because she had been called a boy, her only problem with boys were if they were saying girls weren't any good but since the long-haired girl made no indication that she thought girls were inferior, that wasn't the reason for her distaste.
"Don't call me a kid!" She huffed, stamping one foot angrily on the sandy ground. Her voice was steely, but quite androgynous and so far she hadn't made any indication of correcting the girl of her gender. "You don't look older'n me, so's you can't call me a kid." her brows furrowed.

"Age has little matter on if you're a kid or not. Adian's still a kid and he's married and s**t." Reiha said primly, lecturing the obviously unknowing kid. She struggled with Korbin. She wasn't all that eager for the apology, just to get him to listen to her. "If you wont apologize you have to go." she said firmly.
"I'm not leaving you alone with this guy! What if he hurts you?" Korbin cawed at his guardian, flapping hard, though refusing to use his claws against Reiha. That was never right.
"I can defend myself from some scrawny guy." Reiha snorted, glancing over at the boy again. She taken on bigger and stronger guys, and come out on top. Besides, Adain was just around the corner. It didn't occur to Reiha that she would have hated that fact a few short months ago.

"Says you," Arya snorted, unimpressed by the other girl's usage of a swear word. Ignoring the cawing of the bird, Arya misunderstood who Reiha was saying who had to apologize. The short-cropped haired girl glared with her amethyst eyes "And I don't gotta apologize for nothing. 'Sides, I ain't no boy." She folded her arms across her chest, she was obviously not backing down.
Arya had no problem getting into scuffles, though that was probably one of the reasons her itay Linneas was so reluctant to bring her anywhere. She was simply too head-strong and didn't know how to back down or admit defeat. This little encounter would certainly prove interesting.

Reiha blinked and glanced at Arya, the crow breaking free but only fluttering up to Reiha's shoulder and landed, throwing accusing glares to the aparent girl. Korbin didn't notice gender perfectly and since there was no proof of gender....
"You're a girl!?" Reiha gasped, looking over her. "Why don't you look like one?" she asked, in a purely interested manner. She wondered how she could look like that. She wondered if she cut her hair like the girl if that would work. Then again she didn't seem to gain anything for it. she'd still be bothered.

Arya quirked a disbelieving brow, "Whaddya mean I don'ts look like one? Girl ain't gotta be all ribbony and pink. You sayin' girls should only look like you?" She frowned, it was true that most girls she'd met were of the long-haired, ribbon-and-lace, and skirt-wearing variey but that didn't mean to Arya that girls should only look like that.
Her hands still folded across her chest, Arya showed no signs of lowering her guard or her open distrust and dislike.

Reiha pulled back and glanced over her cheap clothes and dirty pants. Her hair was long true but it fell wild across her face. She wasn't wearing anything pink, or ribiony, or lacy, anything remotely female really.
"What's wrong with the way I look? I don't got ribbons and pink!?" Reiha groweled at her, eye's flashing brightly. "Your face looks weird. Like a guys. And your hair is short like Adain's! Of course girls don't have to wear pink but they should look different somehow from guys." Reiha said with a nod, "It's biology!"
