It was late and dark and the water in the rivulets he splashed through at intervals was icy cold. This was not of any great concern to the stallion encased in faintly glowing bones however; the movement of his muscles combined with the slight warmth given off by the skeleton he wore was keeping him comfortable enough. As the Aeri approached an especially deep-looking streamlet however, he slowed from a canter first to a trot, then a walk, then to a halt at the water’s edge. Giving a contented sigh, the black stallion lowered he head to the surface of the babbling stream and took a deep drink of the cold, clean liquid.

He stopped before he had truly stated his thirst however and began to pace slowly up and down the bank; he’d pushed himself hard today and if he didn’t want to stiffen it was important to let his muscles cool off slowly rather than just halting all of a sudden. Too much cold water all at once wouldn’t do him any good either; he’d have some more in a little while once his heart rate was back down close to normal. After that some food would be good; he could see some good clumps of a peppery water plant, the name of which was lost in lethologica, growing nearby and he did like that stuff.

Giving a snort at a passing fly, the red maned stallion halted his pacing and began to stretch out his leg muscles. He was aware that he probably looked rather silly doing this, but he didn’t much care. Tomorrow, he would not be sore and that was what mattered. He still had a lot of ground to cover and could not afford an injury out of sheer negiligence of his body's needs.

Coming from the ocean and back through D'ob; Velg'larn found himself in Yisi on his way to Casa. He often had to pass this way to get to Casa Tiner He didn't much like the crystal lands during the spring and summer there was too many nequus about then but in the winter the life in Yisi was barren much more desirable since he didn't care to much for others being around but if they were he still didn't care.

The purple spider stallion was leaving his two new children and their mother since it was time. Colleen was strong enough and he had left Eris in the care of his other child Lilith. He didn't much care for this new brood two children a boy and a girl. How they turned out was not his problem Colleen could take care of that. Taking his thought he turned his mind from such foolish things.

It was bitter cold out but the purple stallion could care less, in Casa the bitter cold was more intense. Velg'larn noticed another stallion nearby and wore a skeleton about him. He didn't seem to care about what he was doing either Velg'larn turned his head from the sight if the Aeri and continued walking toward Casa Tiner.

Lucius spotted the pretanaturally tall Bae not long after the Bae spotted him but, as he opened his mouth to greet the stallion, the purple thing turned away. Lucius frowned and set off after him; he did not appreciate such rudeness. “Good evening, Bae,” the red-maned Aeri rumbled in his bass voice as he drew level, “where might you being going, and on what mission so urgent that you have not even the time to greet me?” If this little idiot was going to play silly buggers... well, it had been a trying few weeks. It might be fun to get in a little stress relief if the web-patterned creature didn’t show a properly respectful face and such an eventuality would help him keep combat trained, too; that was no bad thing.

Velg'larn paused and turned his head to face the large Aeri. In an elegant voice void of emotion he responded "You seemed busy at the moment looking rather strange" he told Lucius He didn't care how this other stallion looked but he might as well tell him he looked odd. Most likely strength training as Aeri was quite large Brutes. Velg'larn then added.

"I am heading to Casa Tiner although that is no business of yours Aeri."

Velg'larn was quite large for his kind and he had sleek muscles that he used when he was imprisoned underneath the mountains. He didn't care anything about this Aeri and why did it want to stop him anyway? For a fight perhaps? Surely this thing was smarter than that.

Lucius narrowed his eyes at the purple Bae. “That does not affect common courtesy, or ought not to at any rate.” Yes, this idiot was definitely going the right way about getting his face kicked in. “My name,” the Aeri went on, “is Lucius, and I wish I could say I was pleased to meet you, Bae.” He was big for one of his sort, probably some mixed blood back in the line somewhere, not that that mattered anything beyond an internal observation. “Might I enquire,” the black-coated stallion went on with icy calm, “as to what your name is?” He really was going to lose his temper in a minute if the twit didn’t shape up, oh yes, he’d make this little fool regret his impertinence a thousand times over if he didn’t shape up. Some people just had it coming.

"I am known as Velg'larn." he told the other his name. If this Aeri was going to make such a big deal out of nothing he was a foolish one. Angry over nothing other than something trivial in this case… Manners. Emotions were pointless, so many things proved it. His face didn't change even with the threats of the other nequus. He had more pressing matters to deal with. Velg'larn had heard his brother had returned and he was going into Casa once more before dealing with him.

"Have you ever had need for revenge?" he inquired of the other nequus coolly.

Velglarn was it? Interesting name. Internally though he would think of the Bae as Velgie, unless the purple did something to impressed him into respecting him enough to think the full name every time. At least the twit wasn’t being such a twit anymore; perhaps he had a brain after all.

“On occasion,” the boned stallion replied, recalling how, once he had gathered the bones he now wore, he had tracked down the old stallion who told him of Pyrrus and terrified the old b*****d out of his remaining wits for fully two hours. That had been fun. “Why do you ask?" he added, wondering if revenge could be the reason this oddly large Bae was heading for the ice peaks... but who could possibly live around there that he wanted to harm? A Reya? He knew more of them than any other breed lived close to the forbidding place; he’d met some of them around there on his travels in fact. Still, Velgie would probably tell him soon enough either way.

Lucius knew of revenge at least. The only good point he had about him. But must he stop him here. He had something to do.

"Because that is what I seek."

If he must tell him, foolish courtesy... in his calm empty elegant voice he spoke "I seek to strengthen myself by going through the forest once more." as he stressed the word more as he had been through these mountains a few times. Not many but enough to make other nequus very wary. The trek would drain him physically and mentally for a while until he grew stronger once more.

"I am going to kill my brother."

Lucius, however, was not overly impressed; he’d visited the ice peaks himself twice (in a roundabout route that avoided the strange forest,) met a seer and seen an illusionist at work from a distance. Though above the norm, a Bae who could wander through the strange forests near Casa Tiner was not a cause for him to raise his brows and even if it had been, the expression would not have been obvious behind his bone mask. Lucius was a difficult creature to impress, or perturb; the act of wandering the forest gave the spider Bae no supernatural power and they both knew it.

“I see,” he said as Velg’larn finished speaking, slightly surprised by the long-maned stallion’s assertion that he would end his sibling. He himself had never had one, so the orange-winged Aeri felt neither particular disgust for what the purple planned nor kinship. Presumably he had his reasons, even if they were as odd as he was.

“Dare I ask why you want to kill him?” Lucius asked after a moment or two, somewhat interested in the matter and wondering if he ought to seek out this brother and warn him that the tall Bae was off to toughen himself up in the chill of the ice mountains for the purpose of beating him to a pulp.

Velg'larn looked away momentarily before turning back to the other nequus. "Because he imprisoned me beneath the Fire Mountains and forced me to live there for many years in the darkness..."

Hopefully that would satisfy the curiosity of the other nequus, and perhaps is plan would reach his brother and his brother would fear and return into hiding. “Is there anything else?” he inquired he might as well tell him now so the Aeri wont hinder him any longer.

This time Lucius did raise his eyebrows. He wasn't sure he condemned this brother for his action, until a few moments ago he had very much wanted to stove the Bae's head in himself, but he understood the desire to be avenged now. Perhaps being shut down there under the earth explained a few things about Velgie, now he thought of it. Yes, the Bae was just as dark and staid and otherwise uninteresting to talk to as the underside of a mountain must be. He didn't react, that was the thing; just blank and empty and hollow.

"No," the boned stallion said with a snort and a shake of his head, "nothing else. Goodbye, Velg'larn, perhaps I will see you again some day." Privately he rather hoped he wouldn't, this meeting had been thoroughly tiresome and he probably ought to be getting on in any case. Vox wasn't going to find himself, after all.

Velg’larn turned his gaze from the bone wearing nequus. He was finally able to free himself from this irritant fool. Lately as news of his brother had reached his ears he had become more emotional to put it simply and it had to be buried again. He thought of his probabilities to get through and out of the forest again and they weren’t to promising. Living right outside of the forest would be enough he decided. He luck would run out one day and he still had to live to murder his brother… He did have more sense than that.

Velg’larn looked back once to the Aeri stallion before continuing his journey into Casa Tiner.

Lucius gave a soft snort as the tall Bae walked away; what a twerp. He was like those fillies and colts who liked to consider themselves dark or dangerous or whatever. Shaking his head, the boned stallion turned away and dipped his head to drink briefly from a nearby rivulet. Once he had had enough, the Aeri raised his head once more and turned to face southwards. Qurine, that was the next place to look for Vox. If he wasn’t there... Well, he’d just have to look everywhere else too.

Giving another snort the red-maned stallion set off at an easy trot, putting the encounter with the annoying Bae behind him and turning his mind to the task ahead. Failure was not an option.
