This is the Ft'olz script. You basically invert the constonants vertically as they go in a row, making a zig-zag shape and connecting the endpoints. Connect them with vowels in the same way, flipping the vowel vertically if you need it to not get in the way. Spaces are horozontal lines, so you never have to lift your pen off the paper until you get to the end of the line. For the 'backwards affricates' in Ft'olz, add an unatlered slanted line as if it were a constonant.

Yeah, it's left-to-right, top-to-bottom.

Here's a small sample, detailing how the script is put together. The word is the name of the language, Ft'olz.

Ignore the grey line. It's just to keep the writing straight.

Okay, crazy new idea.

Let's say there are three horizontal lines:
________
________
________

Each would be modified in a way to, say, represent a constonant.

___o___
___|___
___v___

Each line would be shortened appropriately to reflect in which order the constonents came in the word. Shortest = first, longest = last.

_o_
__|__
___v___

Then, the lines are switched around in a particular order. There are six possible combinations. The combination is determinde by a vowel. With six vowels, the order of the lines can be changed to reflect whichever vowel you choose. The number of a vowels you can have using this writing system is equal to "C!", C factorial, where C is the number of constonants you're allowed to have in a cluster.

___v___
_o_
__|__

For one less constonant than the maximum, the 'latest' line is unaltered. In this example, If I was to have only two constonants in this meaningless combination, it would look like:

_______
_o_
__|__

For two constonants missing:

_______
_o_
_____

Just a funny concept that I might expand upon in a future conlang. I should probably try a non-alphabet writing system, anyway.

No, you're not supposed to be able to understand my ramblings.

That's cool! As I said before in the other thread you posted the script that it reminds me of Ogham. But now that I've been browsing Omniglot it also reminds me of the Mesa script.

Don't know if that was intentional or not but I like it and would like to see more.

That reminds me of Pitman Shorthand. Awesome.
