User ImageNadra Zuru had left Sawa for the winds, not only that the sweet scent caused her to walk into claimed territories. This was the jungle of the Chatri Clan. Whispers of where she was chirped within the trees, and this small albino lioness now took her chances; boldly entering these lands in which she did not belong too… yet. Pausing in a small clearing by a small crick she sat down, the scents of other females perfumed lightly past her nose.

Lifting her paw she began to clean her blindingly bright white fur pelt.

It’d been a week since she left the den of a male, and she had enough time to re-gather her own thoughts and beliefs. But there was one thing she felt strongly about; was the simple fact that Nadra Zuri was a new born. She had no real idea to who she was, what she believed, or even what rules she even had for herself. Most importantly she needed to gain a respect for herself, but with the sister support of a female dominant pride she’d gain more than confidence and respect. But a power that would over whelm any males she would ever come in contact with. It was time for the small lady to take charge!

Tejasvi’Nila was certainly the more stern of the two Adhi-rajs that ruled this jungle – the jungle that belonged to the Kunanda Nakhun pride. In the depths of it lived the age-old clans, protecting one of the most well kept secrets of the lands. They were an isolated group, the lionesses of these lands, and few were even away of their existence. Most of the members that joined either came home with one of the lionesses after an expedition out into the more well-known prides for whatever reason, or happened upon it out of sheer luck. Either way, the pride accepted them with open paws – as long as they learned to abide by the rules and beliefs of the pride itself.

It had been scarce few days since the last rogue had entered the ranks of the warriors, brought to the Adhi-raj’s own clan. The pink toned lioness stuck out like a sore thumb among the blue pelts of the Nihang clan, but she had become a close friend of the Adhi-raj even in such short a time. Regardless, having someone to talk to could not make her ignore her duties, and thus – she had come out to the borders of her lands to inspect it and make sure that no rogues were up to foul play.

She saw the white lioness as she hid among the foliage and bramble, confident that an outsider would not spot her before she was ready. The lionesses here were bred for stealth, for strength, and in the lands of their home, especially, they were hard to spot unless they wanted to be seen. With a bit of a nod, the queen brought her form out from the vines and greenery that hid away her bright form.

“You are in the lands of the Kunanda’Nakhun pride,” she said calmly, deep green eyes focused upon the figure of pale lioness before her.

User ImageNadra Zuru was a creature that had been born as the grunt of the litter, but out of all them, turned out to be the strongest and best huntress from that litter. Because she’s always struggled to get the best of things, but always getting the best of things, she is no stranger to struggle, determination, and loyalty to her word. As a rouge she would simply follow her own path, ignoring religion as she had thought that it was only mother nature that had pushed her in the direction she wanted to go within the sweet scents of the wind. It had lead her to many places, and even an interesting male that wanted to have more than one mate. Now how ever she followed the winds from the barren lands of the rouges and into the sweet and lush scents of the jungle. The winds of Mother Nature no longer aided her in her direction…

She figured that this absence of direction was because this would be her new home, whether or not it belonged to another pride. As she sat cleaning herself waiting for the scents of other lionesses to reveal themselves she heard a small delicate snap of a twig, a beautiful lioness the color of the sparkling rivers she had once seen on cloaked herself from the shadows of leaves and ferns. Nadra’s small form was nearly only half of this lioness’s size, she purred gently as she spoke out at her, informing her of what and whom these scents belonged too. Smiling warmly she replied in her own soft delicate voice, Am I welcome within these lands?”

Once upon a time but not that long ago, her voice would hold a firm sexual sting on it, how ever now, since that male she has had no interest with that side of herself. Standing she took a single curious stride towards the beautiful lioness, bowing her head she spoke up once again, ”The winds of mother nature lead me here.” She kept her head low, and to be honest this was the only form of family she ever had. Her own mother abandoning her only at her second stage of life, this Mother Nature, and her sweet scented winds was what she replaced the emptiness within her life with.

Her eyes looked back up at the lioness once again, a small playful smile played across her lips, ”My name is Nadra Zuri.”

Though the lionesses of the pride lived in the depths of the jungle and thanked Mother Nature for the protection that the area offered them, they were not precisely connected to the figurative ‘her’ on a spiritual level. They were more concerned with their souls, with their demeanor, and had little time to consider the physicality that was the greenery around them. They used it to their advantage, manipulated it to suit their needs, but they treated it as something that simply was. Without it, their way of life would have been noticeably different, but they co-existed with it and that was enough for them. They did not need to dwell upon it, and many of them lacked the dreamy demeanor that would have led a female to do so. Flowers were flowers, grass was grass, and the pride was what mattered the most.

“Any lioness is welcome here that can abide by the laws and traditions that we have set down,” she said with a curt nod, her tail wavering slightly behind her as she stood before the pale figure. She tried to be unbiased towards the rogues that entered the lands seeking out a place to live, but her years of living in the pride had bred the ideas into her blood. Lionesses such as the one before her were not of the same ranking as those like herself, and though she was not being unkind, she felt no need to be overly friendly with her either. It was likely that if she chose to join the pride, Tejasvi would see very little of her ever again. The lower ranks were not typically around the queen much at all.

“Well, Nadra Zuri, my name is Tejasvi’Nila and I am an Adhi-Raj of this jungle. I believe the term in other prides would be queen,” she glanced towards the borders just beyond the white figure, glimpses of the savannah greeting her with a peaceful day. Two rogues in only a few days – perhaps the winds of Mother Nature were indeed drawing lionesses to their lands. It wasn’t a matter that Tejasvi cared to dwell upon, however. “If it is a home you seek, then I will show you to the center of the jungle where the Kunanda Nakhun pride live. If you are merely passing through, then I will leave you here.” She waited for the girl’s words, calm as ever and still as stone.

User Image Though she hadn’t been exposed to any other forms of faith, she would quickly adapt to the new form of life the Kunanda Nakhun pride lead. On top of this the rank she would bare if she where to join this clan would be the lowest, not only because she was the smallest but also because she bore absolutely no color on her pale coat. Nadra Zuri could easily be described as the lowest ranking lioness within the entire pride because color was something that indicated the pureness of blood. How ever, even though she’d adapt the new form of life, she’d always have the rouges mind set that her own pelt and figure was perfect in every way. The colors of the pride would only support her thoughts and opinions. These thoughts and opinions where just that though; she’d never speak her mind within this new home and would keep it that way until the day she died. Mother Nature would always be her true and main belief but the other two would soon be incorporated into her daily routine when praying for strength and guidance. Her queen would always be her first priority.

”If that’s the case Adhi-Raj Tejasvi’Nila…” Her bowed her head and stretched her front paws in front of her own form, ”I will learn and abide by your traditions and laws.” This was the first time Nadra would have ever conformed to a form of life, a standard of living, and would accept the stale word ‘traditions’. Even though her initial thoughts would be hesitant to follow new gods, she would try her best to be understanding. Her eyes shut as she bowed and thought to herself, ”I trust in you Mother Nature, that this new pride will give me the strength I’ve always had locked inside of me. Help me prove that I am worthy of their sister hood.” Opening her eyes she remained bowed waiting for the queens acceptance or denial.

The lands beyond the pride where not home any more, she was one of the few Rouges that actually loved the unclaimed lands. Where she could truly call herself free; free from conformity, and free from rules set by a being that seen themselves better and higher than the rest of the creatures that followed it. How ever, her faith in just grass and flowers put her here, and her servant hood would prove a valuable asset within the pride. The queen would never hear of any thing disappointing from this character on top of this, she would always talk her queen up, and would think of her often. Females with power, confidence, and a strong soul appealed to Nadra, and even though she would not admit it, females held more of a charismatic appeal to her than males ever would. Like the pride, she too believed males where beneath her; thanks to Sawa…

The queen stared at the lioness before her in silence, taking a few long moments to judge the female. She could think of very few reasons as to why a lioness would choose so willingly to be placed somewhere where she would be of such little importance – the few rogues that joined the pride were Gasht or higher and the Shikar-I that existed among the ranks these days were mostly lionesses born among them. However, Tejasvi knew it was not her place to question what brought a lioness to her pride. No, it was her place to accept them with open paws and set them upon the path of redeeming their souls as the gods saw fit.

“Then you are welcome here, Nadra Zuri, so long as you can learn to do that. Straying from the path is highly frowned upon,” she nodded slowly, her tail flickering behind her as she watched the lioness. It was always awkward to bring in a new lioness, especially since she had to play the role of a stern queen and a welcome party all at once. “Welcome to the Kunanda’Nakhun pride,” she said finally, dipping her head in a slight bow as tradition commanded of her – at least to someone of such low a rank.

“If you wish, I will show you to the heart of our jungle?” She half turned, though threw a glance of her green eyes back to the slighter, paler form behind her. She would have to follow, otherwise she’d likely spend days in the great expanse of the jungle trying to meander her way through the tangles and find what she was looking for.

User ImageIt wasn’t as simple as having a rank or where she would be the lowest of the pride, it was the entire mechanics of being apart of an entire family; a pride that would completely accept her for her. She wouldn’t have to change but she would need to adapt if not a God/Goddess but a new form of life. Living with a pack meant she needed to pull her own weight and a little extra to go around for every lion and lioness within that section of her family. How this pride was divided into clans made perfect sense to her but it would be a slow change to accept that her lacking in any sort of color would gain her little acceptance from higher and more colorful lionesses… In her own eyes, she would always be the perfect female…

Her head had remained bowed waiting for the queen’s acceptance or denial. Her confidence was high enough to where she didn’t expect to be denied acceptance to the pride. After her queen spoke she nodded her head and stood once again now with a new pride about her, her warm smile revealed that she would quickly fall into ranks, ”Thank you m’am.” taking one last glance at what she used to call home she made a final scent check towards the open and free lands. Her mother nature always seemed to guide her in the right direction, turning towards her new queen Nadra blinked slowly accepting that this was her new form of life, ”I will not disappoint the pride.”

Seeing the queen start towards the heart of the jungle she quickly jotted to her side keeping only a small distance between the two lions. Nodding as the stared deeper into their home lands, ”It’s been a while since I entered the thick of a jungle.” Chuckling more to herself she would follow her new ‘mother’ figure towards the place she would call home. There would be so many people to befriend! Excitement pulsed through her veins.

Tejasvi would have liked to say that she knew the other female would not disappoint the pride, but deep down she knew there was a difference between those born to her land and those that sought it out later in life. When one was born in the land, the values and traditions were instilled from birth, etched upon the bones as the lioness age. Those that came in later in their life had been raised with different ideas, different religions. Some came and adapted well, many began to believe the truth that their beliefs taught – others remained, but often seemed separated in a sense. Most times, they accepted parts of the beliefs and not all of them. Although they were allowed to remain, Tejasvi could never quite say she was pleased with lionesses that decided to pick and choose. “Time tells all,” she said, her only response, not even daring to look back upon the newest member of her pride.

“The jungle is difficult at times, and our pride is hidden deep within it,” she flickered her tail as she shifted to wind through foliage, deft at travelling the path that only trained eyes knew to follow. Born to the jungle, she knew its ways, knew the craft of navigating through it – those not born to it usually had at least a bit of trouble with the tangling vegetation. “I will show you to the pride once, this first time, but should you venture back out and find yourself lost, you will either have to wander or depend upon the mercy of another lioness.” That was simply it – she didn’t have time to go out and rescue all the rogues that joined the pride and didn’t heed her words of the jungle environment and how confusing it could be to newcomers. Some had been lost for days amongst the greenery – though they learned their lesson when they finally returned home.

After a while of walking, twisting, and winding her way through the foliage that surrounded them, Tejasvi began to lead a path through less dense trees. The more sparse area finally gave way to a clearing, and among the clearing lurked the lionesses. It was a large area, lumps of trees within it serving as shelter for different clans. At the edge here lurked the males, though most eyes were turned away in respect.

“This is to be your home from now on, Nadra Zuri,” she said, turning back towards the other with an unreadable face, “you would do well to beseech a clan to accept you, for lone lionesses find the lack of companionship difficult at the best of times. Remember your place, however, and know that it is in a matron’s right to refuse you.” This was typical knowledge of the pride, and she would only say it once out of generosity.

It didn’t need to be said, or even hinted at. Nadra knew that her place was lowest among the ranks, how ever; she would expect at least some sort of tolerance for her, simply for the fact that she too had feelings, emotions, and thoughts just like any other creature. Even though the queen seemed cold with this first and maybe only encounter the two had, Nadra Zuri figured that the queen had a passionate side. It was her rank, nobody would follow a weak and simple minded lioness. She’d taken it with a grain of salt, these expressionless words and indications of how she might be left out was just what needed to be said. Of course it was obvious but Nadra would soon adapt to the new life style, take in some of their beliefs because she’d seen so many, and live life exactly how they wanted it lived. Opinions where pointless and would only get her in trouble. Her lips would be silenced and her actions would prove honorable. This was her new home, no matter what changes would occur, mother nature lead her here!

Listening Nadra didn’t speak a single word, holding a friendly smile and sampleing the plants around her if she where to ever get lost. The key at getting un-lost within thick foliage was to know how the plants grew within it. No she wasn’t creating a path within her mind, but she had traveled through many jungles, and forests; it’d been a long time since she’d ever gotten lost accidentally. Unlike many other rouges that wandered aimlessly, she entered every situation with the ability to learn her surroundings. She could never get lost in these jungles, maybe pointed in the wrong direction but she would never get lost… Nodding in respect she kept a mental note that her queen had even less of an opinion of Rouge or those that joined from out side families. It didn’t matter, Nadra was accepted on the spot thus leading her to believe that this woman had a great empathy and could judge a character by their appearance alone…

She paused and a small gasp escaped her lips, these lions where so… beautiful! Every single one of them looked like an exotic flower! Tejasvi turned back to the female and she just stood there simply staring at the group of lions and lionesses that surrounded her. Her pelt was the description of lowest rank. There was not one hair on her body that had even the slightest pigment of color! Smiling to herself Nadra felt an overwhelming rush of excitement. Even though this pride based their ranks off of colors, not a single one had no color at all! Victory screamed in her mind, she was the most beautiful, no matter what they said about ranks. Once again, the meaning of her name meant something… Rare Beauty.

Walking around the queen like an excited cub looking at the new strangers she felt excited to be meeting so many different lions, turning towards the queen she bowed as low as she could showing the out most respect, ”Thank… you.” A small tear fell from her right eye, not that she was sad, but extremely happy to actually be apart of a family now. So many people to befriend and so many ways to impress the queen. Looking back up to Tejasvi her eyes glittered with tears, ”Thank you…” Bowing once again she finished, ”My Adhi-Raj”

Tejasvi could not say whether or not she judged others by first impression appropriately, she could only say that she tried to give everyone at least one chance. Rogues could learn, this much she knew, but some of them never did. She would give Nadra a chance to prove herself, though she would not be dealing with her directly. It usually didn’t take long for her to hear news of a rogue that wasn’t compliant, and as much as she hated to admit it, they weren’t very tolerant of that. Like previously mentioned, however, Nadra had the chance to prove herself – prove that Tejasvi wasn’t making a mistake by bringing her to the pride.

Her eyes watched the other for a moment, staring down at her in silence as the tear trickled from her eye. She didn’t grimace – though she would have had Nadra been any other member of her pride. Such a display of silly emotion was often frowned upon, at least outside the confines of one’s own clan. However, she just let it pass, playing it off as a new member’s overwhelmed sense of being, and forgot the incident as best she could. For now, it would go unnoticed.

“You are welcome, Nadra Zuri,” she said with a slight inclination of her head, one that was barely detectable but at least there. “I suggest that you get yourself acquainted with some other members, find a clan that would be willing to take you in. I myself must get back to my duties.” She gave her another nod, though it was a touch more noticeable since it was a dismissal of sorts. “Until our paths cross again,” she said, then turned to head off in the direction of her own clan – leaving the other behind to fend for herself.
