Moira Vontage wasn't a girl who was extremely into romance. Sure, it was absolutely sweet to have a guy send you flowers or chocolates at a random whim, but then again, she wasn't one to expect them. But this time, after meticulously planning and leaving a note for Shane, and then sneaking down to the kitchens to get items for a nice little picnic, Moira was certain that all the trouble of romance would be worth it.

Because when it came down to it, what was more romantic than a midnight rendezvous with drinks and chocolate?

And with that in mind, Moira loaded the rest of her things into her little picnic basket, including a blanket, and headed down to the garden to wait for Shane. She had left a note on his door, pinned there, that specified where to find her in the garden. And now she would only wait. Moira looked around the little area she'd picked out for them, and smiled a little before setting out the blanket. It'd be a fun night, if nothing else, and Moira thought (and hoped, really) that they could be within grasp of each other without either of them vying to rip the clothes off the other and have their wicked way with them.

... Ahem. Bad thoughts.

Moi shook her head of those thoughts, and dug out the blanket, spreading it out. Then she sat down, content, and took out a little piece of chocolate, nibbling on it and letting out a pleased little noise at the taste. Chocolate was a delightful treat, and Moira didn't indulge often. She thought that tonight would be a nice night of indulging.

Be it in Chocolate or in a certain delicious Irishman.

Finding that note pinned to his door had been...quite a surprise for Shane. He hadn't thought Moira was one to carefully plan meetings, and the idea of a secret meeting in the gardens thrilled him. Perhaps a little more than it should, especially considering it was winter time, after all. Glancing into the mirror one more time, Shane scrubbed a hand through his hair to ensure he didn't look as though he'd done his best to look nice for her before giving himself a confident nod and strolling out towards the gardens. Perhaps a little quicker than he ought to, as he had an excited and pleased jaunt to his step.

Noticing the air wasn't as chilly as it had been the last time he was out, he wasn't sure if that was because he saw the object of his affections, or just simply a much more appropriate temperature. The Irishman still didn't much enjoy the cold, but catching sight of Moira, he decided that for one day he could withstand it, at least. Besides, having her close would certainly warm the air more than any parka would.

Smiling as he approached, he gave a small wave before lilting, "I see you've been busy, lass!" He was surprised at how well set up everything appeared to be, but also delighted that she was actually interested enough to go to all this trouble.

Moira heard the lilting voice before she turned to actually see Shane, and she grinned slowly when she heard him, straightening up from her crouching position where she'd been straightening out the blanket. "Only a little." She said, innocently. Moira turned to face Shane, and took a split second to appreciatively (read: blatantly) admire him, before stepping off the blanket to greet him properly. "Wasn't like I took all day to do it." Nah, most of the day was spent planning.

"How're you?" She asked, stopping in front of him and crossing her arms behind her with a coy grin. She almost leaned in to kiss him, but before getting too close to doing so, she stopped herself. Not too much too soon, Moi. Keep your head on straight. From the other day, though, Moira found herself almost too tempted to throw herself into his arms again. But she didn't. Self-control prevailed.

... This time.

An amused chuckle escaped from Shane's lips as Moira admitted to being just a 'little' busy. His grin only broadened when she mentioned it hadn't taken all day. If he knew the lasses in the kitchen, which after all his run ins with them, he felt he did, then Moira was obviously lying. But, out of happiness for seeing her again after such a short time, he chose to omit that fact, merely letting his lips settle into a cocky smirk.

The smirk nearly dropped to a frown when the lass stopped just short of coming up to him fully, and Shane felt the strangest desire to sigh. It wasn't as if he couldn't kiss her or hug her and not think of the bed. Regardless of how he often wished they'd done more, Shane felt that this was a girl to go slow with. She didn't seem too trusting of him regarding relationships, and he intended to find out why. As if to show her he meant to take it easy, he stepped forward and wrapped her in a bear hug, giving her a chaste kiss on the cheek before taking a step back and shrugging, "Doing much better now that I've managed to see you once again, lass." Raising an eyebrow, he returned the question to her, "And how are you, aside from having planned this little outing, that is?"

He'd be content to hear all the details of her day, and banter back and forth all night, if she wanted. Though he was sure the food would be delicious enjoyed in her company, he was finding himself full and content merely looking into her eyes.

"Aww." Moira couldn't help the little coo that escaped when he'd admitted to being much better now that he saw her, and she leaned forward to hug him. She took advantage of that, and grabbed both his hands, tugging him towards the little blanket. Her shoulders lifted and dropped into an innocent shrug at his question.

"I'm just cherry." She said, smiling at him. "Especially now that you're here." See, she could be romantic too! In fact, she leaned up, and kissed his cheek. Then she let go of his hands, and went over to the blanket, flopping down. "Things're quiet around here for some reason, but it's pretty peaceful, y'know?" She smirked at him. "For now." Whether that was a sexual innuendo or a foreshadowing of some sort, nonetheless, it just sounded dirty, dinnit?

She flipped open the top of the picnic basket, and poked her head into it curiously, looking around. Then she procured a bar of chocolate, and looked at him, grinning. "Want a piece?" She offered, breaking off a small piece and eating it herself. Ahh, chocolate, the food of the gods.

Willingly allowing the lass to drag him towards the blanket, he smiled at how happy she seemed to be. Unable to prevent the chuckle that escaped from his mouth, after she hugged him and kissed his cheek, Shane laughed out of amusement at how they seemed to be simply trading friendly hugs and chaste kisses. If they both continued to strain so hard at trying to NOT get too involved, too quickly, things could turn out as a disaster.

Rolling his eyes, he gave the lass a small shrug, "Around Lotus, who knows how peaceful things can last?" Unbidden, an image of Estrelas boisterously running through their picnic came into his head. One that made him both laugh, and shudder. It would be horrible if she stumbled upon them, among other things, it would completely ruin the purpose of an intimate picnic!

And just what were you thinking was the purpose of this picnic anyway, boyo? Taking it slow and easy, remember?

Smiling down at Moira before joining her on the small blanket, amused at how delighted she seemed to be in her bar of chocolate. Positioning himself so that he was sitting near enough to her to touch her if he wanted, but not so near she might think he had any ideas about what to do, he couldn't help but imagine how nice it would be to delicately feed her a piece of that chocolate she seemed to love. How romantic and intimate that would be. But moving a little too fast, he thought, remembering how their kisses had become so fervent and rushed so quickly.

Nodding towards the chocolate bar, his slow and easy smirk returned, "Sure, lass, I'll have a bite."

Moira watched him sit just close enough to seem casual, and smirked a little around her piece of chocolate, chewing thoughtfully. They were both being careful, and while that probably was the best option... It was hard. It really was. And this particular young lady found it nigh impossible to resist just leaning against him a little on their little blanket. So, she did the only humane thing she could think of. She broke off a piece of chocolate for Shane, and in handing it over, she leaned against his side.

Which would probably be utterly normal if, in fact, she moved back after giving the piece away. Instead, she stayed leaning against Shane's side, smiling up at him. "So, Mr. Rian." She mused innocently, watching him with a small grin.

"Am I good enough company for you?" She asked. A random question, sure, but one that'd she'd been thinking of regardless. Even girls like Moira needed to be reassured occasionally. She didn't watch his face for the response, instead she opted to look away and look around the little area they were hidden away in. It was almost as if time were freezing for their little rendezvous. Moira didn't mind; Time freezing meant she'd stop aging, right?

Of course that'd be Moira's big concern. The whole world could explode and she'd be worried about getting old.

A small smile touched Shane's lips as the lass next to him leaned in against him as she handed him a piece of the chocolate she was so happily chewing on. Unable to resist as he deftly took the chocolate from her with one hand, he wrapped his other arm around her, pulling her closer. He didn't say it, but he was grateful that she'd been the one to break from the monotony of pretending they didn't want more, when both knew they did. Even though he'd remain a complete gentleman in this case, it was nice to know he wasn't the only one having trouble resisting.

Absentmindedly sucking on the chocolate he pretended to mull over her question. Fully entertained by the use of his last name over his first, and not wanting her to pull away just yet. In the gardens, in winter, it was nice to have a bit of warmth tucked in close. Regardless of the fact that warmth would have to stay distant, though she sat right next to him for the time being. Another smile took his face as he watched her gaze around the gardens, and he settled for an action in response to the question, knowing full well it could land him in hot water. Although he hoped that something as simple and chaste as a kiss on the cheek wouldn't, he knew that with their current tip toeing about, it very well could.

And with that thought strolling through his mind, he gently leaned down to the lass he'd pulled in close and kissed her on the cheek before whispering in her ear, "Aye, lass, and am I good enough for you?" He'd dropped out the company part, meaning the question in two ways. Was he good company, and, more importantly - was he simply good enough for her?

Moira melted against Shane pleasantly when his arm wrapped around her, pleased that leaning against him hadn't gone against her this time. She glanced up at Shane through hooded eyes, actually blushing a little when he gave her a kiss on the cheek. After, her question had been turned on her, and as Shane had done, Moira pretended to have to think about that question.

Which turned against her, making her actually think about it. The answer was an obvious, resounding Yes!, but why? Never let it be said the woman couldn't be a bit of a philosophical thinker. She glanced up at Shane, and smiled a little, watching his eyes. Did she really need to over analyze this? He liked her, and she was certainly fond of him. That's all that mattered, at least right now, wasn't it?

"You're more than good enough for me, Shane." She said without any doubt. Moira firmly believed that he was more than good enough for her, that he deserved better than her. Whether or not he knew it, Moira did. She'd never confess to thinking that way, it was too out of character, but thinking back on what she did remember about her past... Shane couldn't possibly be worse off than she was.

With a small, almost-not-there frown, Moira cast aside her self-pitying facade. There was no need or use for it here. Instead, she leaned up, and kissed his cheek, grinning at him. She'd enjoy this while it lasted, however long that turned out to be.

Though he tried not to show it, Shane was pleased when he felt Moira relax against him. It was nice to know that even if they weren't playing the game, they could at least sit and relax with one another. Raising a dark eyebrow as she turned and pretended to think, he nearly gave a soft sigh. Was the lass going to start the game on him already? His concern showed openly in his eyes, though he did his best to hide it, he didn't want her thinking that he was weak, or unsure of himself. Though he was uncertain in this relationship, it wouldn't work well to let her see that.

When she finally smiled and gave him an answer, he felt like he could soar, and the feeling only got brighter when she laid a gentle kiss on his cheek. He was happy that she felt he was good enough for her, and so he missed the other possible implications of such a statement. The lass made him feel wonderful when he was in her company, even if he did wind up feeling a bit crazy when they played that darn game. Not quite able to resist, he deftly dropped his lips to hers and leaned in for a kiss. It was a sweet, gentle one, with no hidden in intentions, no pressure to indicate he wanted more. Just a kiss to show that he cared for her, for who she was, without question.

Throwing on a simple jacket over her t shirt and cargo pants, Lokiari headed out to the gardens for another walk. Though she didn't intend on finding anyone to bother, but the thought of it always made her grin. She walked her familiar path, a little bit of a jaunt in her step as she watched her breath turn the air into simple white puffs. When she came across the area where you could still view Estrelas' attempts at digging up her food, a small laugh erupted from her mouth. It was quiet, and not loud enough to carry, but the thought of being caught in private musings did remind her she should always be prepared, and caused her to lift her head to glance around the snow covered ground.

Catching sight of fresh tracks, her eyebrow raised and she decided to follow them. After all, Mokoyis had expressed interest in possible Lotus drama...and if she could locate some quickly, all the better! Eyes glinting with mischief, she crept up the path following the new footsteps until she found a couple sitting on a blanket and cuddled up close. Upon further inspection, she noticed that one had leaned into the other for a kiss, and with a grin, she was unable to keep to herself anymore. If she remembered correctly, that was Shane and Moira she was looking at, people she'd pegged as possibly having previous relations but not expecting to find out the truth so swiftly.

Stepping in the footsteps left by Shane to ensure she made no new ones, and made little noise, she crept up close before simply clearing her throat, hands on her hips, and looking down at the couple. Her lips twitching slightly with silent laughter as she tried to look like a serious worker at Lotus, and not simply someone trying to stir up a bit of mischief.

The kiss, while returned and definitely enjoyed, threw Moira. There was nothing hidden there, no secret agenda or less-than-savory intentions. He really did care about her, and it startled her a little. But oh no, she wasn't going to let him see that. It'd raise questions that she wasn't ready for. She grinned after the kiss had ended, and leaned her head against Shane's shoulder. It was comfortable, even if they weren't talking. His company was definitely liked.

Of course, all good things must come to an end. Had Moira been more on her toes, she would've probably felt the presence of someone there. But she hadn't been prepared for any lurkers, so when someone behind them cleared their throat, she actually jumped. Craning her neck to look behind her, she blinked owlishly when she saw Lokiari. The recruit she'd met in the garden, she remembered her. What was she doing out here in the middle of winter?

... Okay, so it wasn't the middle of winter, and the garden was a bit of a hangout. That aside... "Hello, Lokiari." Moira greeted, grinning once she fully realized that Loki was standing over them with a look of seriousness that made her think back to her Mama. "What brings you out here?" She beamed up at her, trying to play off the serious look she was getting. Loki surely couldn't do much harm for finding them out there like that, could she?

The kiss was enough to make Shane forget that there was snow on the ground and they were in the mountains. It was almost enough to make him forget the many cold showers he'd had to endure since he'd run into Moira again, and how he fully intended to make her pay him back for those in full. But not quite, and as the kiss ended he found himself wishing it had never stopped, and a soft smile touched his lips when his lass leaned against his shoulder. Pleased with how this was going, as opposed to their other run ins.

So thoroughly caught in the lass' thrall was he, that Shane did not hear the faint crunch of snow when Lokiari crept up on them. In fact, so in his own little world was he, that had Moira not jumped, he likely would have ignored the bystander that had come upon them. Blushing faintly when he realized that Lokiari had made her way out to the gardens and spotted them, he sighed and found himself suddenly wishing he could move just a little bit further from Moira, so to appear less like they'd just been kissing.

Clearing his throat slightly, he managed a weak nod in Loki's direction, an awkward task at that, before giving her a silly grin, repeating Moira's question, as unneeded as it was.

"And what brings you out here, lass?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 20, 2008 5:00 pm

Amused at how the two lovebirds responded to her, Lokiari gave them a lazy shrug. Moira was clearly the more entertaining of the two for the time being, and it was more than a little amusing to Lokiari how the girl still thought she was just a recruit. It was almost cute, in an odd sort of way, how she was trying to act like they'd done nothing wrong. Which, they hadn't - but Lokiari was still intending to rub them about it anyway, just for the fun of it all.

Smirking as she stared down at them, she began in an overly dramatic voice, "I'd intended to take a walk of the gardens to check on some things, but I hadn't thought I'd actually find anything worth investigating!" Catching that Shane was still blushing, she leaned down just a little closer to the two and raised her eyebrow, continuing to try and look as stern as she might, "And just why are you blushing, Shane? Were you doing something you shouldn't be?" The Irishman was clearly going to be the more fun to tease, the other one more fun to pretend she was upset with. And that just made Lokiari want to laugh with excitement. She hadn't expected to find fun of any kind so soon after her return!

...Even if it was just a simple date out in the cold gardens, Lokiari was determined to use it as a chance to have some fun. Otherwise, things were just too boring for her.

Moira winced sheepishly, and grinned, rolling her eyes at Lokiari. She was a smidge better at not blushing, knowing it'd get Loki's attention. Instead, she shrugged. "There's nothing worth investigating." She said innocently. She looked over at Shane, and grinned a little at the blush.

"We weren't doing anything," she muttered sheepishly, leaning back and shrugging again. Moira felt a little irritation at their date gone awry, but moreso that she was acting as though Loki could condemn them forever for being out here on a little get together. Pfff! If it were Wraith, then she'd probably have been a little more concerned. Loki was just... Loki.

Right?

"Besides," Moira went on, snorting a little. "I'm sure there are muuuch more interesting things around here than us two." She said, not really giving much thought to talking about Shane and herself as an 'us'. Implications abound here. "Like the library. ... Or bothering the girls in the kitchen." Moira smirked over at Shane. She couldn't resist poking a little fun at Shane, even in a situation like this.
