I hope this doesn't sound offensive, because I mean it in a good way... it reminds me of a more refined guy version of a Squaresville Pandemic character. I think its the thickness of that guy that makes me feel that way. I love it. I love the layout of this too. I think it'll be very very very nice when its done. Your sunset is stunning.
The only thing that jumps out at me is his right foot (our left). Its too much of a side view. It looks like his ankle is broken. You might also want to show a little more roundness to his backside on the side we can see. Just pull your lines out a little more so you can see his mass on that chair. Not much, though.

I don't find that offensive, but then again, I'm not familiar with Squaresville Pandemic and am now finding my way to Google.
You're right, it's pretty flat-looking. In the CG process I'm going to go in and add some dimension to the heel/sole that could help. His feet have really been an issue throughout.
I'll see what works with how he's sitting in the chair. I think it should be easy to fix.
Do you have an opinion on that window? I'm trying to figure out whether to make it a light source or not, because while it makes sense it could distract from the sunset in a bad way.

Some people just don't like being compared to others is why I was concerned.
Everything I mentioned are just tiny fixes. You probably can fix it in the rendering. Others might not even notice. I just look extra hard at human figures in art.
I think the window is an excellent opportunity for a secondary light source in a cool tone. You might want to put a lamp in the window or something. It'll look great to have warm highlights on the left side and some cool highlights on the right. It'll make the whole thing stunning.
Now why haven't you gone to art school? This stuff is amazing. You could get a killer scholarship, I'm sure.

bitches is po'. Also, I'm in the middle of an enlistment contract with the US Army. I'm a Trauma Medic/ER Technician. XD;; Can't really do much hands-on schooling until I get out.
While becoming an illustrator would probably be easier, I'm a hardcore retard and want to become a dermatologist.
I'm still considering becoming an illustrator, though. My dream was to become a 2D animator, but as you can imagine, that's since fallen by the wayside. :[

Poor 2D animation is being killed off crying
Funny story: If I were to be a doctor, it would be a dermatologist. Skin issues fascinate me for some weird reason.
You could combine your skills and be a medical illustrator too.

It might be boring... depends on how much you love drawing precise anatomy XD Also, its a very small field. I still think you'd be a killer entertainment illustrator.

Well, its just what we called it at my school... It might have different names else where. Basically, entertainment is for stuff like concept art and comic books and whatnot. I think you'd be a wonderful concept artist. And by that I mean character design, environment design, and all the stuff you do. And I bet you could make some killer graphic novel stuff too.
