I doubt that I am the first asking this, but how did you get into the Lolita fashion.
In my case, I found out about Lolita about a year ago. I had heard the song "Gothic Lolita" by Emilie Autumn and looked it up (at that time I was not aware of the book). Anyway, I came to the conclusion that I really liked it, since I was already interested in Victorian fashion.

To be honest, I really dont remember. Its soooooooo many years ago. ^^lll Perhaps it was from paradise kiss when i first read it in 8th-9th grade(before it became popular). Yeah, that must have been it since Miwako was my fave character. She had the whole punk loli thing going on in her own way.

I blame my best friend for introducing it to me (and helping me out). When I first got very interested into Japan, it was more of the anime and manga areas. Then I met my best friend, whom told me a lot about JRock, pretty boys dressing as girls and of course Loli. ^___^ -hugs my friend-

Well, I've always been into Japanese and other foreign things (I'm a gamer mainly 3nodding ) Though, I can't remember exactly what triggered my liking for Lolita, I think it would have to be my start into anime and manga around 7th or 8th grade. I didn't really start to like Lolita until 10th, though. Now my friends are liking it too. pirate

I was born into it as a matter of fact. Perhaps not the Japanese fashion oriented style, but the true style from Europe. My grandmother was raised and taught in the ways of beauty and elegance and she, in turn, instilled that ideology into me...I grew up watching Aristocrats and Nobles on television and I remember always loving it. I've been humble, respectful, and have done my best to be elegant my entire life, though others always found it a bit odd.
As for the Japanese style itself, I suppose I found out about it during the Malice Mizer days and naturally I followed Mana and the rest, as they say, is history.

Hmm, I remember that I stumbled across Meta's website several years ago, and I honestly thought that their stuff was a bit strange, but I liked it in a way. And then a year later or so, I was watching Top Model, and they were in Tokyo and had to make an outfit based upon several different Japanese street fashions, and they went to Meta's store to go shopping, and I think that was when I really fell for it :3 Though I never thought I could look good in lolita, so for years I just looked at other people dressing in lolita. Though in November, I decided that I wanted to become a lolita as well. So yeah, I'm slowly but steadily building up my wardrobe now xp

Combination of jrock and anime, I'm sure. I never really have pin-pointed it. I didn't actually get any inspiration to try and dress in the style until after I'd joined this guild. Oddly enough, what pushed me to do it was the infamous L_F episode where we ended up having guild members posted all over that community. Hah. Well.
At least I can say I learned my lesson, I guess. (:

I... can't remember... sweatdrop
I think I saw a web address in a japanese magazine last year and decided to look it up. It was a lolita fashion website and I didn't really know much about lolita, so I looked it up online to learn more.
I found pictures showing the different types of lolita and I instantly fell in love with the country and sweet lolita styles.
At least, I think that's what happened...

Actually it was via this guild, in a way!
In 2nd grade, everyone around here was really in love with China. They thought Sailor Moon and Pokemon was from China. Then they found out it was actually Japanese...So ever since then I've liked Japan. I didn't know about Lolita until I joined Gaia and got randomly invited to this guild. I think I must have posted in a related thread because I thought the stuff looked cool...or something.
Anyways, then I started researching and looking around and have loved Lolita ever sincce.
The funny part was, even though I was pretty gothy at the time, I have always liked classic/aristo and country Lolita the best.

I have always loved the old French and English Victorian styles. I swear, I was either born in the wrong place, or the wrong time period, or both! lol Anyways, one day as I googled pictures, I came across a very cute little japanese girl in what looked to be victorian children's clothes. I was wrong. It was sweet lolita. Then I looked it up on wikipedia, and sure enough, there it was, and I instantly fell in love with it, especially when I saw where it's roots came from! whee heart
And then I became a greater fan when I learned about Malice Mizer, Nana Kitade, and Kana. This was many a year ago. I don't even remember exactly when...wow...it really WAS long ago now that I think of it!.....*sorry, now it seems that I'm lost in thought about the past sweatdrop *

Well a couple of years ago I think I found out about it online, I did a little research and fell in love with it! I've always loved Victorian clothes which are somewhat similar to lolita.

Well, when I was in 8th grade I learned about Malice Mizer and Mana. I bought a volume of The Gothic and Lolita Bible and was absolutely amazed by all the beautiful clothes. I was a bit close-minded back then with clothes (only wore hot topic stuff XD) so I didn't think I could find Lolita-esque clothes outside of Japan. And not too expensive. I started sometime at the end of this year to really dress in the clothes. I'm eighteen now. I probably confused a lot of people, becaus for two years or so I was into decora. XD
