Shuman leaped and bounded in the tall, tall grass. He wasn't really doing anything of importance, but who cared? Leaping and bounding around could be just as fun as tugging on your siblings' ears, as long as you made it fun. So, as his father had taken his three sisters out to some place that he couldn't remember, he was with his mother, just having a good ole' time by himself! Who need sisters anyway? They tended to whine too much anyhow.Chu'mana was laying down on top of a rather warm rock, watching her new and only son make a fool of himself out in the tall grass. He was jumping around, landing funny, complaining about hurting, and then doing it again. As stupid as he was being, she just had to smile. She felt the most proud mother in all of the Pridelands. She had a wonderful mate and four wonderful children, two of them being twins. What more could a once forgotten lioness ask for?

Shiri awoke to the thought of both Chunuka and Chu'mana. Since she had her cubs, she had not spoken to either of them and now there was plenty of great news to share! At the thought of Chu'mana, Shiri blushed. Her friend had found a mate and it would be wonderful to announce that she too had also found happiness. During their first meeting, the two hit it off incredibly well and Shiri hoped that they could continue to do so.
Calling for Hodari and Dakarai to follow after, Shiri began to make her way about the pridelands, searching for a yellow eyed, green lioness. There were a variety of pelt colors amongst the pridelands, but green was not the typical color. Chu'mana would be easy to spot.

Hodari, having spent a good portion of the last month meeting new lions, had always wondered just who his mom spent her time with playing. She did not seem to have very many friends and so when she mentioned Chu'mana, Hodari was excited to meet his mother's friend.
When he heard that his brother was going along, he smiled even brighter. At least while his mother hung out with her friend, he would be able to play with his brother. Sticking close to Shiri's side, Hodari also kept an eye on Dakarai.

Dakarai had not had the exposure to other lions that his brother had, but he was with his Momma so there was no reason to worry. Her call was answered immediately. He had been playing, pounced on his own tail tuft, when he heard her voice. Jumping up, he bound to her side. The first thing he did, not bothered by the fact she was moving; he purred and nuzzled her leg in greeting. Excited, he kept up with her, always keeping an eye on his brother as well.
Going on an outing with both was exciting, with his momma being so much taller than them, he could have one side of her all to himself, and still see his brother. Playing while they walked, he made little faces at Hodari. They weren't rude ones, just silly ones.

"Rawr, rawr!" The pastel green cub pounced upon a beetle that had been minding its own business. When it felt the earth tremor beneath its little buggy feet, it quickly began to scurry about, trying to find safety and shelter.
"Hey... Where are you going Mr. Beetle?", Shuman asked, putting his paw out to bat at the scurrying bug. "I just want to play!" The beetle, needless to say, didn't like the sounds of that.
"What an odd cub he is. Always finding the smallest things to play around with."
Chu'mana shook her head some, continuing to watch her son. He tended to make a big deal out of things, even if they weren't of any importance at all. That's just the way he was. However, he was a very sweet cub, and wouldn't hurt anything on purpose. The same thing might not be able to be said for the beetle he was playing with though.
"So much of your father in you, Shuman.", Chu spoke softly, smiling as she put her head down in between her paws, letting the sun above her warm her green backside.

When Dakarai came to her side and nuzzled her lovingly, Shiri felt her heart melt. Becoming a mother was entirely what she felt her life had been designed for. And while she found her mother and was slowly developing a positive relationship, she felt almost guilty that Memetuka had missed out on her entire childhood. Had Meme been older, perhaps she might have understood. Things might have played out differently. At this point in her life, Shiri would not choose to have anything changed. Things were falling into place.
As they neared a common resting place towards the center of the pridelands, Shiri noticed a familiar green lioness resting atop a large rock. Immedietly Shiri began to quicken her pace, eager to speak with her newest friend. "Chu'mana!" She called out, hoping not to frighten her. It had been quite awhile, in the back of Shiri's mind, the lioness was almost worried she might have been forgotten.
Shiri was about to call out again when she noticed another lion nearby. The lion had the same color fur as Chu'mana and upon further inspection also had the unique snake marking. With a blush, the lioness became aware of how similar the two were. Had they both had cubs during the same time?
Each instance in which Dakarai made a face at Hodari, the cub twisted his face as though it was difficult for him to ignore. He was the eldest of the family and so he was expected to be mature and ignore the antics of his younger brothers. Forcing himself to look away, the cub watched the scenery change as they moved along. The pridelands were such a beautiful land.
While Hodari had been prepared to play with his sibling while his mother spoke with his friend, he was happily surprised to see another cub to play with. Spotting the beetle, Hodari padded over and introduced himself. "Hi! I'm Hodari! What're you doing? Is that a beetle?" Hodari had seen a few colored beetles outside their den.

Dakarai couldn't imagine a life without being with his mother around, to him, the world revolved around her. Whenever he wasn't trying to play with his brother, he was looking up at her. Taking some time to look around, he wondered about the new lion they would meet. Certainly the lioness must be wonderful if Momma was bringing him to meet her.
Getting frustrated with a lack of response from his brother, he tried harder before giving up and amusing himself. Pouncing ahead if his mother's steps, he'd wait until she was one front paw ahead before pouncing forward. Playing with his mother's shadow, he had near constant low purr, endlessly happy, even if his brother wasn't playing along with him. Sometimes, older brothers were no fun, but Momma always was. Looking up when he heard the name, he searched for this Chu'mana, eager to meet someone else.
Reluctant to leave his mother's side, the small cub finally gave his mother's leg a nuzzle than padded off to met the new cub that his brother was meeting. A few times, he stopped to turn and look behind him to see his mother. This not being one of these times, he looked to the new cub and spoke after his brother, "Hiya, I am Dakarai, nice to meet you!" Staying close to his brother, he watched the new cub with friendly curiosity.

Hearing something, Shuman poked his head up from the beetle he was playing with, his green eyes beginning to dance with joy. Two cubs came running over to him, simply out of nowhere. They were both a different color, one being black and gray and the other being gold all over. They even had different eye colors. Cool!
"Hi! My name is Shuman!" He looked down at the beetle again, only seeing some dirt on the ground. "And that was a beetle. I wonder where he scurried off to... Oh well!" He was now focusing all of his attention on these two cubs, bouncing up in and down in excitement. "Oh! Nice to meet you two too!"
Chu'mana's ears perked up and to the side, her head following. She had heard a familiar voice call out to her, but wasn't sure if it was who she thought it was. Blinking her yellow eyes and slightly sitting up on the rock, she saw a very familiar and very happy gold lioness padding her way. Instantly, a smile formed on her face, and she roared out to her.
"Shiri! Over here!"
She looked over at her only son to make sure he was still there, seeing that two little newborn cubs had just joined him in his playing. One of them had the same golden pelt that her friend had, but the other was mainly a black color. She wondered about him, but after seeing the fading stripes that covered his backside, she knew that the both of them belonged to Shiri. Had she had cubs around the same time that Chu'mana had? If she had, this would be a very interesting reunion.

When Dakarai approached, Hodari glanced behind himself and smiled. "This is my little brother," he announced. It was not that Hodari tried to make himself better than his siblings, but the fact that he was eldest was something important to him. Hodari was about to speak again when the new cub introduced himself. Like Hodari and Dakarai, he seemed eager to meet them.
"It's nice to meet you too, Shuman! Neat name!" It seemed everything the cubs said were so enthusiastic. They were new to one another and nearly everything around them was new. When Shuman announced that the beetle was gone, Hodari frowned a bit and then sniffed around on the ground. "I'm sure we could find another one! Maybe a bigger one with a horn on its head!"
The response from Chu'mana was all that Shiri needed to encourage herself to finally greet her friend. While the lioness was changing much for the better, remnants of her past still remained with her. Having had no friends in her past, she found it difficult to accustom to the friendly nature of the pridelanders. In Chu'mana's company, however, things were nice and comfortable.
Padding over to the green lioness' side, Shiri smiled, "It appears as though you have your paws full as well! And before I even had a chance to meet your mate!" Shiri was not offended that she had not met Siltim, but simply wished to meet the love of her friend. From what Chu'mana described, he was a rather incredible lion. Shiri could describe Kei similarly, though she had one issue to sort out still. Kei had still not decided on joining the pridelands.
When Chu'mana looked over her cubs, Shiri felt as though she owed introductions. "The little yellow boy is Dakarai. He's an absolute love. His older brother is Hodari and quite the curious cub. He takes a bit after his father." Shiri blushed at the mention of Kei.

Being introduced as the younger brother, he just beamed and came to sit near his brother. Looking back to the two lionesses, he says, "The very pretty gold lady over there is our Momma, is the other pretty lady your momma?" He sounded so proud and happy as he named his momma, he really was, they had the best one in the whole wide world after all!
Following his brother's lead, he nearly parroted, "Neat name, Shuman, nice to meet you!" After the trauma of that grasshopper chase, he really didn't like bugs all that much. Ears low a moment, he got an idea that had them up and a sparkle in his blue eyes, "Shuman, how about a game of tag or hide and go seek?" A game would be awesome, and if he had to hid, his Momma was perfect, even if his brother might expect that of him.

"Yup! That's my mommy!" Shuman himself beamed. He was very proud of his family and their 'awkward' green coats. Being different was a good thing, in his mind. However, that came to be kind of contradicting when one had a twin. "Your guys mommy is really pretty. Although, how come one of you is dark and the other is light? Isn't your daddy the same color as your mommy?" He still hadn't quite grasped the concept of colors passing down in families, and since his parents were both green, he simply thought all parents were the same color.
Taking a moment and looking around for another bug, he couldn't find one within sight, and looking all around wasn't much fun. "Hmmm.. Maybe we could play a game. What do you think, Hodari? I don't mind!"
"Oh yes. Full paws indeed." Chu'mana laughed, looking back over at her son, just to make sure he was getting along with the other two boys. "So you had two cubs, Shiri? Both boys? They're very adorable. The dark gray pelt on your oldest is quite the color." She looked back at her gold friend and smiled gently. She was extremely happy to have her here.
"I'm guessing Hodari is sporting his father's color? If so, I'm eager to see your mate. He sounds like a handsome one." She nudged Shiri some, laughing again. This was just wonderful. Shiri had a loving mate, and two beautiful boys. Chu figured she was one of the happiest lionesses right now, much like the way Chu herself felt with her four cubs and her loving mate, Siltim.

When Dakarai beamed and took a seat near Hodari, the darker cub only smiled and listened to his brother speak. It was so much easier spending time with Dakarai. Had he said anything similar about Jasiri, the youngest cub would have thrown a tantrum. The last time the two got into a scuffle, Hodari ended up with a large scratch on his muzzle.
Being the proud big brother he was, Hodari actually enjoyed how much his younger brother followed after. He seemed to appreciate Hodari's company and trust him to keep him safe and protected. When Dakarai quickly suggested other games, Hodari was reminded of the incident in which his younger brother was lost. "Either of those games sounds fun to me too!" Hodari quickly added, so that Dakarai would not be alone.
When Shuman brought up the subject of pelt color, Hodari puffed out his chest, making his single tooth necklace known and visible. "Actually, our daddy is black with a big fluffy white mane! And these necklaces we wear are from him! He's really great!" Hodari knew that it was different and strange that his father wasn't always around, but the time in which Kei was with them was always memorable.
Shiri was so pleased to introduce her two boys that she nearly forgot to mention both Jasiri and Angavu as well. Blushing ferociously, the lioness felt rather embarassed about the mistake. She adored her cubs, but meeting her friend again was such a surprise she wasn't quite sure where to start. "Actually," Shiri began with a shy smile, "Kei and I had four cubs. The other two are at home with their grandmother.." And on that note, Shiri smiled broader, "I have so much to tell you Chu'mana!"
At the nuzzle her friend offered, Shiri smiled brightly. Life had certainly done a complete turn over. She had found her mother, a mate and had four beautiful, healthy cubs. She could not imagine being any more happy. "Hodari was the first born and after him was our only girl, Angavu. She's a beautiful golden girl and inherited her grandmother's eyes.." Shiri's voice cracked as she spoke. It was so different having an actual family to talk about. "And after her was Dakarai and then finally Jasiri. He's colored like Hodari without the stripes. And what he lacks in size he certainly makes up in personality. He is the most adventurous of the group. He'll grow up incredible like his father."

Dakarai nodded enthusiastically, his necklace shifting as a response, "She really is." No lioness was as pretty as his momma, or as wonderful. Not even grandmom, though she and the others are a close second. Unlike his brother, he didn't particularly like his father, so when the question came, he deferred to his brother not even trying to answer. Rather avoiding it all together. Really, he'd be happier without dealing with his father.
As the answer to playing came down to Hodari, he turned his blue eyes to his brother and listened. A smile formed on his muzzle and he stood up, eager to play. The answer to the coat issue was ignored, he wasn't rude about it, just waited for it to be over before he said, "So which game should we play?" Raising his paws then dropping them, he was already excited about the idea.

"Hmmm.." Shuman put his paw up to his small muzzle, rubbing it, getting into the thinker position. "What should we play.... How about hide and go seek for now? I'm sure there are tons of places to hide!"
The pastel green cub beamed, so happy that he had finally met cubs his own age. And they were boys too! He shouldn't of been this excited, but for him, this was a big thing. All he knew was girls, girls, girls... And they got really boring after awhile. He needed some action! Attacking one another, adventuring, having growling contests! Yea... That's what he had been waiting for.
"Oh really, Hodari? Cool! My daddy's... Well.. Green, like me. My sisters and I are all green too. Although, I'm among the more soft green than any of them, except for my twin sister. She looks just like me, so sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between us." He stuck his tongue out in a playful manner, just acting silly.
Chu'mana's eyes got wide when Shiri spoke about two other cubs she had had. Yes, it was a most beautiful thing, but it also shocked her with just how much these two lionesses actually had in common. "You have a total of four cubs, Shiri? So do I! I have three beautiful girls and one very proud boy." She nodded her head in Shuman's direction, smiling at him.
"However, my situation is a littler different. Shuman and his sister Shumanja were born first... Only a minute or so apart. They're twins. My two last girls were born after them. Tiamat and Naga'nika. I love them all, and they all turned out so beautifully." Chu'mana then began to think some. There had to be a reason why these two lionesses, who had only just recently met, had so much in common. That's when something hit her.
"Hey Shiri.. You have a single girl.. And I have a single boy.... Maybe.. Yes... Maybe we could introduce them at some point? You know what I mean?" She had a smirk on her face and a gleam in her eyes. She felt like a very nosy and commanding mother for even offering such a thing up for her son, but when it had come to her mind, there was no way of just throwing it out.

Hodari did not notice how much Dakarai seemed to avoid the subject of their father. He was so caught up in his own pride of his necklace that he assumed that his other siblings felt the same about the situation. Having not known any different for his family, Hodari was content about the arrangement. Afterall, it allowed him to become a more important male figure for them!
When Shuman agreed to hide and seek, the dark striped cub nodded happily. "Sounds like a plan!" And then a question popped into the cub's mind. Who would be counting first? Not wanting to throw his younger brother into the position, Hodari offered to do it himself, "I'll count to 20! You both find a place to hide!" And before the two could run off, Hodari lowered himself to the ground and shut his eyes, waiting to hear the scampering of their paws.
Shiri was in absolute happiness in the company of her friend. While she found herself lonely on the nights in which Kei remained in the roguelands, she was thankful for the friendships she had formed. It was allowing her to become a more independent lioness and that was exactly what she needed. "Oh! That is so wonderful! We'll have to get the cubs together for a large play date!"
When Chu'mana offered her smirk and suggestion, Shiri's cheeks turned pink. She had often found herself scanning over the pridelands for suitable mates for her cubs, but when spoken out loud, it made her feel almost guilty. They were just cubs afterall! "Having spent so much of my life alone in the roguelands has made me worried for my cubs. I would love to ensure that each of them finds the love and company they deserve! And your cubs are so kind! I would be thankful to introduce them to one another!"

Dakarai only knew his only sister, other then that, it was him and his brothers. In his cubbish mind, he didn't think there was any difference between having sisters and brothers, after all, he liked his sister the same as his brothers.
With the game approved, the golden cub jumped up, more then ready to play. All that was needed was the counter, and his older brother had stepped up for that. When it came to hiding, his first bet was always the same lioness, his hero and mother. So when Hodari started counting, thats right where the cub bound off.
Stopping just short of his mother, he second guessed himself, although Shuman probably wouldn't expect it, his brother knew him better. Not saying anything, after all, his Momma was talking to her friend; he looked around for a better place to hide. In the end, he chose to use his coat for the advantage, hiding in the golden grasses not far from his mother. Ears low, he huddled up and held tight. He risked watching where Shuman was going to go, but other wise; he kept his eyes mostly closed and was careful to hide the blue of his times.
Gold really one of the best coat colors, his momma had it after all, and sometimes imagined he was invisible in the grass because of it.
