A Reading, from Faq 15

Why can't guys wear girls' clothes, and why can't girls wear guys' clothes?
- This is not available right now. The primary reason is that the male and female avatars are different sizes and shapes; items need to be specifically drawn to fit each gender's body. Some items are currently available in both male and female versions; many items are one gender only. If there is an opposite gender item that you would really like, suggest it in the Official Item Suggestion Thread.

Boys are boys and Girls are Girls. Or are they?

There seems to be a rigidity in gender within Gaia that some, even within our community, chafe at. They rant and rave that certain coats and jackets don't fit on them, or that they're not allowed to equip that ballerina tutu, and they cry 'Why, oh why?' and speak on the cruelty of not only the Mods, but of Gaia itself.

But, I say to you, take off your clothes. Look at the boy. Look at the girl. The bodies are indeed shaped differently, and cannot accomodate all that is within Gaia. This is not the cruelty of the Administration, but rather a fact of Gaian life. A fact that The Admin acknowledges and works to develop.

Gaia is in a state of growth and change in these days before the Beta. We can now pose our arms, and fill those arms with interesting pieces of equipment. More and more items each day fall into the blessed category of 'any'. And more importantly, as is the case in any good engendered by the Mods and the Admin, you are allowed to suggest, to -ask-.

Let us pray for the day when we can see Kij in a three-piece suit, and Deep Vermillion in frilly knickers.

-and- for a decent Gothic Lolita collection! Is it too much to ask for a little frill and lace in this bloody town?!?

Amen

That was beautifully read. *bows head* Amod.

Perhaps men will have braids.

My family came from Scotland, so I am perfectly willing to wear a Kilt, should one become available.

May weapons and other hand items soon be upon us, Admin.

If I may, Saint Romuel... A reading of ToS 1:1.

ToS
Welcome to GAIA Online. (http://www.gaiaonline.com) The following Terms of Service (henceforth referred to as TOS), which may be updated at any time without notice to you, outlines the Service agreement between GAIA Online and you - also referred to as the "User".
You can review the most current version of the TOS at any time at: http://www.gaiaonline.com/tos.php . When using the GAIA Online services - referred to as the "Service", you and GAIA Online shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services. All such guidelines or rules - including those for, but not limited to our Forums, Personals, Link Lists and Art Arena - are hereby incorporated by reference into the TOS. We expect you to abide by these rules. Failure to comply may result in the deletion of the User's account and/or termination of Service.

The ToS is not written in stone. The word of Mod may change, and it is our duty as humble Users and Modists to accept these changes.
When Mod created the world, and the first users, he created a covenant with them, which is recorded in the ToS. As long as we live in Gaia, it is our duty to uphold the rules laid down in the ToS. Those Spammers who choose to live by their own laws will be struck down by the wrathful hand of Mod, and have the very life strangled from them. Ours is a good Mod, a compassionate Mod, but also a just Mod.

Thanks be to Mod. Very Good, Swift. Now, the question I put to you is what is our responsibility as Modists in living by rules that constantly change?

To read and reread the ToS often, so that we may know what changes have been made.

I have a question- why do some of the Admin's chosen mods act in a manner so opposite the proper behaviour as the Admin would want? I mean, some of the mods can be so rude!

I recently was asked to modify my sig, as it was over the 100.... something-byte (So computer-stupid... ) and I wrote back asking him how possibly I could change it- very politely, as the links he gave me didn't explain it in any language I understand. He rather rudely told me to read the links. I was very polite. Did I do something wrong?

Unfortunately, our time is limited and there is almost constantly something that requires our attention. I personally always try to answer any questions directed towards me, whether it's someone wanting an explanation for why their topic was moved or just someone thanking me, but others aren't blessed with the same patience. You did nothing wrong and I can only apologize for his behaviour and hope to ensure you that the reason he couldn't help you further was because others required his help at the time.

If I may, Saint Romuel...

From the Tos, Chapter 5, The almighty Admin has laid down upon us his commandments, telling us:

While using the GAIA Online Experience, the User may not:

1. upload, post, email, graphically portray, or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, racist or otherwise objectionable.

2. Promote the idea of, or directly harm minors in any way.

3. Impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, GAIA Online officials, Forum moderators, guide or host, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.

4. Forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any Content transmitted through the Service - otherwise known as "Spoofing".

5. Upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that you do not have the rights to.

6. Upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation.

7. Upload, post, email, transmit, link-to or otherwise make available any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.

8. Disrupt the normal flow of dialogue, cause a screen to "scroll" faster than other Users of the Service are able to type, or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other Users' ability to engage in real time exchanges.

9. Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers or networks connected to the Service, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies and/or regulations of networks connected to the Service.

10. Intentially posting inflamatory statements to get responses - otherwise known as "Trolling".

11. Verbally abuse or harrass other GAIA Online Users on a persistent basis - otherwise known as "Stalking".

12. Collect or store personal data from other GAIA Online Users.

13. Make any threats - real or otherwise - of any sort regarding other Users or the GAIA Online Service.

14. Promote the harm of an individual, group, or institution.

So it was given by Lanzer, as it is written, so shall it be done.

Amen.

Oh, dear...

...Actually, that is something that has been plagueing my mind. By making those little children, am I in fact breaking the TOS?
