Shayna stepped back and dusted off her hands as she looked over her handy work.
The three brightly coloured pavillions had been provided for her, but the shiny lanterns that were strung along between them were her own addition. The large tents were arranged in a triangular pattern with the doors facing a central dancing space. Food tables were set up inside one of the colourful structures, small finger foods and large bowls of punch already covered the tops. Her aunt had been cooking all morning.
A bright globe hung over the dance floor and more hung from the ceilings of the tents.
The area surrounding the tents was covered in fluffy snow, a pathway shovelled out for guests that wanted some time away from the noise of the party. The outer boundries were clearly marked but thick red ropes and signs were posted along the path warning Heralds and Guardians not to stray.

Shayna was vibrating with excitement as she waited beside the summoning stone for people to arrive. She was wearing a short purple dress that sparkled in the winter moonlight. The midthigh length skirt was held out by layers of bright pink tule that peeked out from the bottom. The top was cut low and was sleeveless but she didn't feel the cold.
Eamane was already at the Sanctum. It was her first time here and she was still in wonder. The darkness obscured the valley from prying eyes but the splendor of the tents was enough for the little elf. She did a last minute check of the food and music system that Shayna had dragged here from her room.

((prologue where Lily and Kemuri are still at her house))
The dark winged herald tried stuck his wings through the white long sleeved dress shirt that Lily had provided. it was a perfect fit since Kemuri was about the height and size of her dad. Lily had cut slots for his wings to stick out of. She tugged on the dark blue wings while complaining how a girl would've been much easier to get wings through. especially if the dress was cut low in the back. When the white shirt was done, they did the dark red vest that had buttons down the front. He wore black dress pants with a belt to top it all off. He leaped on the windowsill and told Lily, "I'll wait outside" He took a graceful hop and landed gracefully on the snowy ground below.
Lily ran quickly to the washroom to get changed. She took about a minute to change out of her regular clothes and into a lovely pink dress. It had spaghetti straps and was knee-length and had sparkles at the foot of the dress. She wore her lacy white socks that went to mid-shin. She turned off her room lights and went out to get her shoes on. Her mom had known about this dance party that Lily was going to so Lily didn't have to sneak out of the house. She wore her grey running shoes that were quite new looking even though she was worn them for quite some time. She rushed out and saw Kemuri standing waiting.
The two headed out in the cold winter night towards the sanctum. The air was frosty and Lily kept blowing smoke clouds from her mouth. Kemuri continued to walk towards the sanctum. They eventually reached there and to Lily's surprise, she had never really noticed how there was this place there in the first place. It was so new to her... Kemuri took her hand and lead her in as she was stopped in her tracks with awe.
((EDIT:: Lily is at the end awed by something other than the sanctum xD maybe something outside of the sanctum xD ))

[Keep in mind guys, that the character, Blood, is that of my avatar/account Crying Blood. [x]]
Blood shifted her way quietly through the snow, heading towards the familiar area of the summoning stone. Her body was dressed neatly in a black, female, suit, so the cold couldn't effect her too bad. She'd have to change into her dress much later on when she was warm. Her silver, almost white, hair danced neatly in the wind, and her pale skin reflected the moonlight softly as she weaved her way through the snow.
Thin clouds of white drifted upwards, from her mouth and she sighed out slowly. The cold didn't bother her, but the walking sure did.
She soon arrived at her destination and smiled at the sight of the red headed teen, dressed beautifully in a purple dress. She looked so beautiful, and it seemed like only yesterday, the tiny, short haired red head was running around lighting things on fire by accident. The thought made her laugh.
*
"Welcome to th--Mum!!!"
Shayna's eyes brightened as she caught the red of the womans eyes. She smiled and ran over, wrapping her slender arms around the woman she grew to think of as her mother.
"I'm so glad you came! You look stunning!"
The teen ushered her over to the slab of stone, and turned to her.
"I'll see you later, alright?"
*
Blood smiled as her daughter ran for an embrace.
"Shayna! You look so beautiful."
She held the herald at arms length and took in the radiance of the girl. She was so proud of her. She had grown so much in that time she had left. It tore at her heart to know she missed so much time with Shayna, and before she could mull over it too much, she was being lead to the giant stone, and Shayna was letting her through to the sanctum.
"Don't be too late! Don't wanna miss all the fun."
And with that, a bright light enveloped Blood, and she had been transported to the most sacred place of the Heralds.

Eamane grinned as people began to arrive. She approached Kemuri and Lily, her floor length red dress trailing behind her. "Hello! Welcome. Shay has put me on greeter duty." The elf giggled and curtsied as she attempted to gesture at the tents at the same time. She failed miserably and almost fell flat on her face in the process, "I'm Eamane."
She was about to continue when she caught sight of Blood. Her grin became ,if possible, even wider. "Blood!" She waved and motioned her friend over.

((kinda introductary from home to the 'gateway' so to speak. Er, 2nd n 3rd paragraph wasn't really needed i just wanted to describe it...so it seem a bit long))
Crisp winter air greeted the young herald as he held the invite with trembling hands. It had not left his sight all day and more than one occansion it had almost been destoryed by Bethan or the elements. At first he was sure it was a prank but now he wanted it to be true so much he had forgotten that earlier thought and was now dressed in the best clothes he could find - well half of them.
Kain wore near enough the tradition suit but without three things that seemed so odd to think about. It wasn't near dark enough for him to see. The belt as the mist he called his lower half refused to hold it. Black trousers the reason more obvious than the last but strangely enough the tie was missing. Bethan had taken the silk item and 'edited' into a strange new blindfold. It felt soft and fitted perfectly, the darker colour blocked out more light so the constant grey vision was now black which was a change. The annoying thing was the fuss, the couldn't see the changes just feel them. That was the whole reason Bethan was willing to esort him here, at least from what he knew.
Bethan dashed out in yet anonther customized suit. She refused the fuss of dresses but managed to add little details such at tiny chain crossing her tie and and edging her jacket - that was done long ago.
The mouse-girl curled her tail as he forcefully turned Kain in order to attach a blood red tie to his neck, her mind was else where though the thought of the santum excited her, like a whole new world to explore. Though she couldn't help but to twitch when something about it was mentioned that was all that she was going to show. "So which way now?" she asked as locking the door.
Kain didn't even need to think about it anymore, so many times he had just passed it and now he could go back even if it was for a single night. He smiled and ran hoping his guardian would understand. It was like he was child, a real one. It wasn't too long before Kain grinded to a halt almost tripping over Bethan. His attension draw to the herald before him. He blushed realising how stupid he must look to other people and stammered out a greeting before trying to remember how he crossed in the first place.

Hearing her name, Blood's gaze shot back and forth between the few people here and there. Her eyes landed on a small elf waving to her.
"'Mane!! My lovely 'mane!"
Blood walked towards her, holding her hands out, and taking the elf into a hug.
"I see Shayna has put you on duty."
She laughed slightly at the poor elf's expense. Although greeting duty wasn't so bad. At least you got to see everyone dressed nicely before they drank too much wine, or spilled junk all over themselves. That was a plus. This made Blood giggle.
Looking around, Blood attempted to find a bathroom where she could change her clothes. The sanctum was full of snow, and yet the air was warm and comforting. She'd be able to change into a dress now. She turned to Eamane with a smile.
"Could you point me to the bathrooms, love? I think I shall take my change of clothes a bit early tonight. That way I can change into this suit when I am sick of a dress."

The little mouse girl was excited about Locke's invitation. Her emerald eyes glittered with a newfound enthusiasm. She had still never been to a nice party before, and this one was to be held at the Sanctum itself. Her heart fluttered. Did Locke realize how great this was?! She looked over at the Herald, who was half asleep on the couch. At least he was already dressed.. White ruffles, draped over his small hands from his blouse that was buttoned up to the collar. Wrapped around that was a red cravat, that pooled at the front and fell down; stopping at his upper chest. His black overcoat was left unbuttoned so the child could still move about easily, and slots had been cut in the back for his wings. His black buckled shoes had been shined and polished. Getting him ready had taken a little more time then Shino had expected, the poor tike was already looking worn out. Hopefully arriving at the sanctum would fill him with some new energy.
Shino pulled up her dark, wavy, raven hair in a half-ponytail with a red ribbon that matched the one tied around her neck. It left the rest of her hair to hang down over her shoulders. She wore a deep red, strapless gown that's length hid matching dress boots underneath. Over this, to keep warm, she had a cherry-colored velvet cloak with white faux fur trimming the sleeves, tail, and hood of it. She looked very similar to a fancy, young Ms. Claus. The thought of it made her chuckle as she took one last look in the mirror and pulled her hood over her gray mousey ears.
She scooped up Locke and lay a black cape over his shoulders as she headed out the door. This got Locke's attention. His crystal blue eyes fluttered open and he stared up at her. He had a smile on his face, almost as if he knew where they were headed.
Of course it would have been helpful if he could communicate that location to Shino, because the girl only had an idea of where she was going. But she had asked Pyper and Eri, and they had given her directions to the tablet, which is where Shino figured it was in the first place.
Upon arrival, she saw a few familar faces. As she was transported with Locke to this new world, she felt so happy. And upon showing up in the Sanctum there were even more people she knew from before. But that wasn't all that had caught her eye. She stood gawking at just about everything.
Locke liked it there, it was obvious. It must have been awhile since he had gotten to stay in this place. But at the moment he was giggle and holding his arms up, open at the sky.

Shayna smiled at everyone who arrived, so pleased that she practically clapped her hands. She wondered how long she would have to stand there before everyone showed up and she could join the fun inside the sanctum. So far everyone but her mother and aunt had been able to getin inside by themselves.
Eamane grinned up at Blood as she returned the hug, her eyes twinkling merrily, "I don't think I've ever seen you in a dress. I shall wait with baited breath." She nodded her head at one of the tents that was serving as restrooms for both sexes.
More arrivals. She turned and waved, motioning them into the well lit space.

Lily was in awe until an elf came to greet them. She curtsied softly in return to the elf who seemed to be stumbling. 'eep' was a small sound that came from her mouth as she thought the elf lady was going to fall. But before Lily could say anything, the elf girl ran off. Lily shrugged it off as she walked along the shoveled path towards the tents with the man trailing behind her closely.
The herald on the other hand seemed occupied by something else. He wanted to see if Shayna was at the party. He had missed her when she was outside greeting people in. He looked around frantically like a child but had no luck.

Blood chuckled at the elf and nodded.
"And I don't think you'll ever see it again. They are aweful and uncomfortable. But for tonight, I shall dress like a lady."
With a smile and a thank-you, Blood made her way over to the tent that Eamane had pointed out. Once inside, she made her self comfortable, and hid herself away so she could change.
It took her all of 10 minutes to strip out of the suit and slid on a sleek black dress. It was silky and strapless, an reached down just past her knees. It didn't wave around too much, but it wasn't constricting. A pair of black dress flats adorned her feet, and a large chunky black bracelet was slipped on her wrist. Out of a pocket in her suit, she pulled a dainty black purse, and held it neatly in her hand.
She folded the suit and placed it to the side of the bathrooms, where she was sure it'd be safe. The Heralds and their guardians weren't terrible people, so she was sure it'd be fine out in the open.
She brushed imaginary dust particles from the front of her dress, out of nervous habit, and sighed out, before stepping into the moonlit sanctum. Her eyes darted about, attempting to find the little elf again. When she was spotted, Blood made her way to the busy girl.
"Well, what do you think?"

Eamane wrinkled her nose and waved her away, "Go make yourself pretty." She turned back to the first guests to find that they had wandered away. She shrugged scampering over to the music player and switching the on switch. Light music filled the clearing still quiet enough for people to have conversations over.
She was lost in thought when Blood came back and it appeared that the woman had popped out of thin air. With a startled exclaimation she blinked at the elegant figure. "Well well, you clean up very nicely. I should mak you go out more often." She winked and looked Blood over again.

Kemuri drifted about looking for Shayna. He wanted to see her in her dress on the snowy night. He remembered the elf had said she was Eamane. could she be auntie 'Mane Shay had said before? He wandered away from his guardian silently as she looked around the sanctum. The adult herald stepped silently and waited for a good time to approach the elf. He stayed his distance but kept his eyes on her. 'i hope she doesn't think i'm some creepy stalker' he thought as he sighed to himself.
