There. It had taken three trips somehow, but all of Archie's files regarding alien exiles were now stacked neatly in one of the many closets in Carrie's old house. It was still strange to think of this place as some sort of safe haven for criminals who were, for whatever reason, dissatisfied with their new lives, but there it was. That fact didn't look like it was going to change any time soon.
Archie brushed his palms on his pants as he stepped out into the main room. Headquarters was quiet; there was some sort of outing going on, which was why he had even chosen to bring the files over tonight. He dropped onto the couch and stretched his legs out in front of him, enjoying the silence.

The silence was not to last as Jera unlocked the front door and made her way inside. She was accompanied by the sound of hooves falling heavily on the floor and harsh breathing. Though the breathing soon steadied and was replaced by cursing. Jera was furious and teetered on the edge of trying to maintain the person she had become and reverting to the person she had been. She had be crossing the line all day.
Upon entering the main room of the Unit Surisana found herself face to face with the subject of her Ire. " You" She hissed. " You scumbag, thanks for nothing."

Archie turned around in his seat with a welcoming smile on his face that fell when he heard Jera's curses. He lowered his head until his chin touched the couch's back cushion, looking over it like a child watching tigers in a pen at the zoo.
At her vague accusations, Archie's head lifted again. "Me?" Who would have reason to call him a scumbag? Unless... "Surisana?" No, no, that wasn't it. He stood and turned to face her, the sofa still between them, but hardly enough protection from a pissed-off centaur. "Jera. I... I'm sorry."

" Sorry, what good does sorry do me or anyone else you choose to sell out. What was the point of giving us second chances at life if you were only going to allow us to be punished for our crimes again." Surisana ground the words out as she moved ever closer to the man " You have put me me in the most dangerous position of my life, you have endangered innocent lives and if anything happens to Nyx while in those bastards care you will pay with your life." Surisana was not as attached to Nyx as Jera but she still respected the woman who'd had the ability to raise her in a sense. To have her captured , used as bait to lure her in was unacceptable.
" I am well aware of what happens when I apply the full strength of my kicks to a head. Unless you desire your family to see what it looks like on your head I suggest you comply with my demands." There would be no negotiating here, Surisana would have what she wanted or there would be death. Perhaps not here as this place need not be tainted, it was important to others and served a purpose she could understand. Still Archie would die if he resisted, this was after all his fault.

To his credit, Archie stayed put even though every cell in his body was telling him to run. She would catch him easily anyway, unless he somehow managed to get outside and shimmy into a sewer, which... was gross. The tiniest flicker of anger sparked in him at her words, but it was quickly doused. She was right. He had never intended to endanger any of the children he had kept files on, but assuming the people they wronged would just forget about them once they were gone had been a mistake. Just how large of a mistake was something he was coming to understand very quickly.
He realized his hands were slightly out in front of his body in an unconscious attempt to shield himself and he hastily lowered them. "Yes," he said, adding a nod since his voice was barely audible. "I'll do anything you like." The meaning of Jera's words finally made it past his fear and he added, in a stronger voice, "Those guys took your guardian?" Great.

Surisana was glad she wouldn't be forced to harm Archie. He was of much more use to her functioning. Though he was going to pay for what he had already done she'd wait to give him what he deserved.
She nodded in response to his question." Nyz was the only one home when they arrived. I returned home to fight my HOME my REFUGE in shambles and a note from Brosser of all people stating that he and his associates have Nyx and that in one week at your house I'm to surrender myself to them in return for Nyx's freedom." Here the centaur woman pawed at the floor in agitation.
She flicked her tail while clenching and unclenching her fists ." I cannot risk going outside any longer. I'm not certain what Brosser's plan is but he never does anything without great assurance and backups. I can't afford to be seen in public often right now. " Surisana was concerned, what was the Ginkoan's plan why did he need a week to implement it ?
" Your job is to harbour me for the week and provide me with the genetic material requires to impregnate myself. I am not particularly concerned with the source provided it is healthy."

Archie's expression went from concern to guilt to - he couldn't help himself - a smile. He opened his mouth to speak, and something like a chuckle came out, which caused his expression to change yet again. His eyes widened and he muttered, "Where... um... okay. Why?" He mentally kicked himself for replying so quickly, and agreeing? Where was he supposed to get... genetic... material? And how was she going to impregnate herself without a doctor? Or sex?

In a flash Surisana had reached up and lashed out with a forehoof to kick Archie in the stomach, it was hard but not as bad as it could have been. She thudded down to the floor and glowered at the man " This is a serious situation Mr. Saturn I suggest you take it that way. If I cannot count of you to carry out my instructions I may find it necessary to use you for my needs and I can assure you I'd rather not do that."
She began to pace back and forth in the room " I require this becuase my hunters will not harm me if I am with child. I have commited great crimes but to distress a woman carrying a child, to risk injury to an unborn innocent is by far the greatest crime and even in the name of justice they would not commit it. If by the end of the week I can conceive they will be forced to release Nyx and leave me alone for at least the time it takes me to give birth. that will give me plenty more time to think." Surisana felt it important to get her point and reasoning across to the man.

Pain bloomed from where hoof met stomach, and it only increased as Archie landed on the floor and folded in on himself. He managed to remain in a seated position, but just barely. Shock and the sound of his own ragged breathing prevented Archie from hearing Jera threaten him with more fatherhood, or he might have inadvertently laughed again. For a moment he thought about standing, even tried to, but it hurt too badly. Instead, he lay back on the ground and watched the teenager pace above him, most of his attention turned inward.
"Yes," he said when she had finished speaking. He would put what she had said together later. Right now he just didn't want to be kicked again.

Surisana looked at Archie laying prone on the floor. She sighed and rubbed at her temples. " I intend to sleep where you're laying." That said she reached down to help the man up. He didn't seem capable of doing much on his own now. Perhaps she'd kicked him a bit too hard. Not that he hadn't deserved it. laughing at her situation like it was some sort of joke.

Archie winced as he slid back onto the couch, the initial sharp pain in his stomach giving way to an uncomfortable ache. The kick would bruise, but currently he found he could manage to move without crying out or otherwise embarrassing himself.
He wasn't going to thank her for helping him up, not now, but he did offer, "There are blankets and things in the old bedroom and some of the others should be home soon." Archie shifted his weight until his midsection was only dully throbbing, jerking and wincing again when he heard his name.
"Archie?" Dixie pushed open the door and stepped inside, the light in the room causing her to squint after the darkness outside.

Jera shifted away from the man, filing the information she had learned away. Leaving the man to be tended to by his child Jera quietly made her way to the kitchen so she could eat and think in peace.
