So, MJ was maimed today. It sucked. Here's the story:
MJ was packing up her bags to leave calculus & head off to psychology, her favorite class. She went to shove her pencil in it's pouch & felt something uncomfortable on her thumb. She pulled her finger out & discovered about half a centimeter of lead stuck under her fingernail (i'm not talking the disconnected white part either, it was lodged up there). But it didn't really hurt... at first. By the time she got to psychology her finger was burning so she showed her psychology teacher & got a pass to the nurse - who in the 3 & a half years of being at her high school she never had to visit, until now. So she tried herself in the office to remove it with tweasers & she even cut her nail away. but to no avail. The nurse offered to help. MJ told her not to worry bc she had a very high pain tolerance but little did MJ know that when people for tweaser up your nail, it hurts like a b***h. So MJ sat there looking at the wall trying to avoid thinking about her hand the nice school nurse got the lead out of there (after about 5 minutes of painful poking & prodding.) there was lots of blood, but at least it's out. Hopefully I don't get an infection
el fin.

I once slipped on a waxed gym floor and cracked open my chin. I thought I was holding at least a pint of blood in my hands. gonk
And an a*****e in my grade hit me with the small side of a meter stick on the ball of my thumb so hard it left a welt.

OW! I got a staple up under my finger nail once when I was younger. . . That really sucked! It hurt for days.
Just keep using witch hazel on it, it'll be fine.

Pretty groosome stories. There was this one time though....
I was riding my friends little bike, and the chain needed to be oiled, I kept riding it, and the chain started to act up, I was peddling at full strength, (I was like, 3 years old at the time) and the chain jammed and I flew over the handle bars, almost doing a front flip on the bike, landing face first into the cement road, fortunately, I had a helmet on. It hurt like hell. And the road wasn't like those smooth paved roads, it was REALLY bumpy.

...damn. I sound like a pansy now! gonk
Somehow I've avoided major injuries. The worst thing that ever happened to me was I broke my toe because a Clydesdale (sp? it's a huge horse) stepped on it & crushed it when I was volunteering.
The worst injuries I saw:
I was at swim practice doing dry land (at the time I was resting on a crunch set) & the team that practices before us was working on starts. This one girl did an incorrect dive & cracked her skull at the bottom of the pool. She came out & blood was everywhere & they had to rush her off in an ambulance.
The only other one I saw a girl fell off the block (onto the cement not the water) & her leg got caught & twisted in a very unnatural direction on the step. I think she broke it. She was also taken away.
Moral of the story: don't dive from a swim block unless you know what you're doing.

I can get out of anything standing up. Once, my pant leg was caught in the chain of my bike and I accidentally jammed on my front brake and flipped the bike. I didn't fall over.
