I happened to click "My Gaia", noticed the Spotlight, and started wondering. If we were to be in the Guild Spotlight, what do you think would happen?
Obviously, there would be an influx of people, but what ELSE?
For those who need a spoon of some sort: ~In your opinion, would it be a good or a bad thing? ~How would it change the game? What about the guild as a whole? ~How would it change your perception of the game/guild? ~Obviously, there would be a sort of social hierarchy, with those who were SGers before the Spotlight at the top. How would this blatant hierarchy affect the game/guild?
<3 It was just something I thought about, and figured it would be interesting to see what you guys thought.

Brix. I would poop them.
Then I'd be worried about trolls and conflict and mass confusion and newblets.
Then the games would get more interesting with lots of new faces about. :O

Well, guild rules say we let everyone in, and we'd probably get a massive influx of new people.
Which would give the mods a lot more work, piss off the oldbies, and probably cause havoc in general.
On the other hand, it would be rlyrly cool. I still don't think I'd like it, though.

I would be REALLY ******** HAPPY I'm not captain anymore biggrin That would be my first thought.
It would be cool. It would be more lively in here and thats always good. Its been dead lately. It could cause a TON of drama. Especially prommie wise I think. I would love it <3

I've oft wondered some of this, and I think it would probably be an overall good thing. It would nigh-definitely bring more people in, and (filtering out the inevitable trolls) would bring more social discussion and interaction. It could also make the games more deceptive with more people bringing their plots and ideas to the table. There will always be that hierarchy of age before beauty, but I've seen it before and over time as I'm sure you too have seen, it dissipates as people who stay assimilate into this group.
...that post was totally not just a practice of vocabulary
P.S. Hi Monkey

It'd be good and bad. More spam, but more people and activeness... I think I'd be glad overall, though the guild would probably need a few more mods.

I think, past the newblets and the trolls, that it would be a great thing for the Guild.

(I think it would be really cool just to see us in the spotlight. Just so I can go to that page and see us.) New Members = Good. Trolls = Bad. Drama = (Haven't decided....) Life to guild = Good. Pissed-off Oldbies = Very Bad. mad New Faces in Games = Good. For the most part, its okay. How does a guild end up in Spotlight?

sweetnessfairy For the most part, its okay. How does a guild end up in Spotlight?
There's a button underneath the guild logo in the right corner that says "Recommend Guild" which was used. Except everyone and their mother recommended every guild on Gaia, so they shut off submissions.
We're in before they closed though.

Bad, bad, bad. We're not talking about the 50 or so players we desperately need, we're talking about hundreds, if not more... Gaia is huge and a lot of people check out the guild spotlight. The guild would be too huge to really enjoy anymore. confused

ninja For the benefit of Mr. Kite... I tried to recommend the guild... But it's already been recommended... xD!!
It deserves the spotlight...it's the most organized guild that I have ever seen. 3nodding At the same time, it could go like Ego pointed out. It would probably be like the top threads thing... So many "top threads" were reduced to s**t because of it...but at the same time, the word was spread.
...there will be a show tonight. domokun

This could be a very good thing and a very bad thing at the same time.
Good - new members to bring some life in here instead of random bursts of activity. More than 70 people would sign up for a game too.
Bad - Trolls, noobs, and ...well things that could end up making it actually worth a chan raid. @_@

Well, there'd definitely be plenty of trolls, n00bs, and the like that would come... but I'm sure we'd get much more "good" people out of the mess, and it'd sure make things even more exciting around here...
Yeah, we'd have the oldbies, and the "new people"... but as time would go on, the lines would diminish, and the guild would be enhance from all the new faces.
So, I'd have to lean that it'd be a good thing... but yeah, more mods, definitely... ^_^
