It was the end of Anoki's day, finally. Not that he'd had many classes, but all the extra work that Raven was giving him meant that he was falling behind on his actual classwork. So even though his classes were finished, he found himself dragging his bag of books to the common room, sitting in one of the comfier armchairs, and leafing through a thick tome about attack magic. Which was another one of Raven's assignments, but then, she would be angriest if he didn't finish her work.
Knowing that Anoki would be a while, and seeing as the room was otherwise empty, Myung-Ki was curled up on a pile of pillows that he'd pulled off the sofas and chairs. If the person was going to be boring, that meant it was a good time for a nap.

Damaris peeked her head around the corner of the corridor that lead to the common room. She saw a boy there and a dragon, one doing homework, the other...napping. She didn't recognize either of them but Autumn had told her to stay in the common room for a while since he'd be late coming home from work today.
She walked into the room and looked around at the chairs and sofa with a lack of cushions. A little jealous of the dragon who was hogging them all she decided to ignore it. She took a seat in one of the cushion-less chairs and fiddled with one of her bracelets. She looked over at the two boys every once in a while, however she didn't want to interupt them.

As soon as the girl entered, Myung-Ki opened one eye and followed her movements. She didn't seem to want any of his pillows, which satisfied him- after all, he had taken them fair and square!
At first, Anoki didn't even notice that someone had come in. He was focused on the book, and every few seconds he would mouth some of the words, trying to cement them in his brain. It was complicated stuff, printed in tiny type, and he found that he was getting a headache sooner than he'd hoped. With a sigh, he put dogeared the page he was on and shut the book. It was then that he finally noticed the company, and the book almost slid off his lap as he suddenly let go of it.
"Oh! H-hello!" he stammered, grabbing the book before it hit the floor. "Were... w-were you here long?"

Damaris looked up at the boy when she was adressed, "Hi!" She greeted back with a smile, "No, I wasn't really here that long. I just didn't want to interupt you, you look busy." She said rocking back and forth in her seat. She had her back pack sitting on the side of the chair but it looked fairly empty, it seemed that she didn't really have much homework today. "What're you working on?" She asked curiously trying to peer over at Anoki's book.

Busy? Well, one could say that. But Anoki didn't especially want to. "Not r-really," he shrugged, setting the book aside. "I th-think I need a b-break anyway. It's a b-big book." And it wasn't as though he was going to finish that day anyway, so a bit of a rest wouldn't hurt.
"Oh... w-well, it's ab-bout magic. Sp-spells for attacking th-things." Anoki shook his head. "B-but I don't r-really like that kind of m-magic." He didn't really like magic at all, but he couldn't very well say that, his mother being who she was. Instead he shrugged and smiled nervously. "My n-name is Anoki. What about y-you?"
By now, both of Myung-Ki's eyes had flickered open. They were talking, and if people were talking, he couldn't sleep. It wasn't so much that he was kept awake by the noise, but rather, the idea of people there. If there were people there, they should be giving him attention. And they weren't. He wouldn't stand for that.

"Magic can be fun." She said with a smile hopping off of the chair and heading over to Anoki, "You sound like you have a cold, you feel ok?" She asked reaching up to feel his forehead as Autumn did when she felt sick, "Oh, I'm Damaris, nice to meet you Anoki!" She said happily with a smile.
"You should get something warm to drink if you don't feel good, the winter can be really icky. I had a real bad cold a couple weeks ago, it wasn't fun." She said making a sour face.

"Hm? Oh... n-no, I feel fine!" He wasn't sick, at least not that he could tell. In fact, now that Anoki thought about it, he'd never really gotten sick. Injured, often, but never sick. "I d-don't think I get sick," he murmured, more thinking aloud than actually commenting. He would have to ask Raven about it sometime.
Then he remembered that he had company, and shook his head. "I'm s-sorry you were sick, Damaris. B-but I'm g-glad you feel b-better now!"
Myung-Ki snorted a puff of gray smoke and started to inch towards the chatting kids, staying as low to the ground as possible. He wanted to be closer to the action, but he knew that if Anoki saw, he'd say something silly. This was best done under the radar, at least until circumstances proved otherwise.

Damaris giggled a little bit, "You say some funny things Anoki." She said, "Well at least you feel ok. So how come you're here after school? I'm waiting for my Daddy to come pick me up, he said he had to stay at work late." She thought on it a bit, "I don't remember how late he said he was gonna be...Oh well, I'm sure he won't be too long." She said rocking back and forth on her heels.
She seemed almost antsy, she wanted to do something but there wasn't really a whole lot to do, and Anoki looked like he was one of the older kids so he probably wouldn't want to play with her. She fidled with her little horse shoe necklace as she talked with Anoki.

He did? "I d-do?" he asked uncertainly. Anoki wasn't sure if he was being silly- at least, he wasn't trying to be- but since it wasn't the worst thing to be called, he didn't argue. "I was d-doing some homework, r-reading. But it's l-long, and I n-needed a b-break anyway."
So she was stuck there waiting? That didn't sound like fun. For once, Anoki was glad to live at D-Corp. At least that way he never had to wait for Raven to pick him up. "Well... d-do you want to d-do something while you w-wait?" he asked. He wasn't very good at conversation, and he'd feel a lot better if there was some activity for them to focus on.
Perfect, neither of them was noticing, and he was almost there. For once, Myung-Ki didn't want attention- yet. There were just a few inches left, which he practically slithered across. He was right below them now, so there was just one thing left to do. Trying to look cute, he rubbed his nose against Damaris' ankle. If his person wouldn't give him attention, he would steal the girl's attention!

"Huh?" Damaris looked down to see the little dragon nosing at her, "Aww!" She excalimed quickly kneeling down to scratch Myung-Ki under the chin and pet him on the head. She hadn't realized that the dragon had woken up, and with the excitement she completely forgot that he had taken all of the cushions off the chairs, "He's sooo cute!" She exclaimed happily, "What's his name?" She asked looking up to Anoki.
Damaris instantly jumped at Anoki's question, "Yes! We could play a game or something! He can play too!" She said looking back down to Myung-Ki. "It'll be fun." She said with another giggle.

Ah, that was more like it! If Myung-Ki was a cat he would have purred, but instead he just scooted closer and exhaled a breath of warm air. The focus was on him, this girl was scratching his scales just right, and everything was perfect! Completely worth the wait!
Anoki blinked in surprise, and then scowled. What was Myung-Ki up to? He didn't trust his dragon not to pull something violent. But then, when the red got attention, he was usually content, so Anoki kept quiet. He didn't want to scare away a potential new friend, and he was reasonably sure he could keep Myung-Ki from causing too much chaos, if he had to.
"His n-name's Myung-Ki," Anoki said slowly. "He has a t-temper... so j-just be careful, ok-kay?"
Myung-Ki spared a glance for Anoki, looking innocent and almost hurt. He wouldn't do anything bad! Well... unless the situation called for it. And it if it often did, whose fault was that?
Rolling his eyes, Anoki started to think about games. "I th-think they might have g-games in here," he said, looking around. "Wh-what games do you l-like to p-play?"

"Really? He seems pretty nice to me." She said with a smile continuing to scratch Myung-Ki. "I like all kinds of games! Hide and go seek, jump rope, tag, sorry, hide and go seek, chutes and latters, uno. Wait, I said hide and go seek twice didn't I?" She said gigling and sticking her tounge out at her own faully.

Wow, she seemed to play lots of games! Anoki's mind boggled at the list. He didn't get to play too much, since he was usually set to reading or writing work that Raven assigned him. He'd never even heard of a couple of the games that Damaris mentioned. "Tag and j-jump rope are outside g-games, I th-think," he thought aloud. He didn't want to say he'd never played Chutes and Ladders or Uno before. "M-maybe hide and seek? B-but I don't know if th-there's room."
Ah, bliss! Myung-Ki leaned happily against Damaris' legs, letting his eyes close. As long as she kept doing this, he didn't mind if she talked to the person. He knew he the real focus here.

"This place is big enough! But we just have to make a rule, no hiding anwhere else than on this floor!" She anounced, "Come on Myung-Ki you can play too!" She said excitedly as she stood back up, "So, who's gonna count first?" She asked looking between Anoki and Myung-Ki."

"Just th-this floor. Right." Anoki nodded, then looked at Myung-Ki. He wasn't sure the dragon had learned to count yet. But at the same time, he didn't really want to leave his partner alone to cause chaos. "I'll go f-first," he volunteered, with a stern glance at Myung-Ki.
Myung-Ki looked up innocently. He knew how to play this game, and he nodded eagerly. Having people look for him would be the best!
Shaking his head, Anoki tweaked one of Myung-Ki's horns. "Be g-good," he said firmly, then put his hands over his eyes. "I'll count to s-sixty, so g-go hide. One... t-two..."
Myung-Ki didn't have to be told twice. He scampered, scanning the room quickly before deciding he'd be better off hiding elsewhere.
