Your gonna die! Was the only thing Manes heard from the strange, bloody thing sitting on the coffee table, but it hardly phased him. He had grown quite used to such threats from what he came to know as Law, one of the few who presently resided in Rent's apartment. Manes had been trying his best to remove the machete that helped compose Law's form. But after several attempts he had finally given up. He was now standing near the window of Rent's apartment gazing down at the urban sprawl below. "Rent... can we go to that park again? I... want to practice hunting some more..." He said this with his voice lowered as if trying not to be heard at all. He knew of course that Rent had heard him because he heard the water in the kitchen stop, and heard Rent putting dishes away in a quicker manner then before.

Rent had been washing dishes when he heard Manes' request, and despite his want to just hang around the house he rather appreciated keeping the boy happy... or at least as happy as the boy would let on. And so he had begun to hurry with his dishes and before long he had put them all away and walked out to the living room. He Scooped up law in one arm, and motioned for Manes to follow as he headed for the door, pausing for one moment at Verloren's door to knock and ask if he wished to join them. Naturally only sobs answered him, and then silence to signify a rather firm no.

A short car ride brought the three to the aforementioned park, which was actually quite vast, and wooded. It had a grand walkway which looped, obviously for joggers or recreational walkers, and it had a jungle gym area that seemed quite deserted today, but that was the last thing on Manes' mind as he stalked into the wooded area, spear in hand. He was practicing his hunting ability, and before to long he had disappeared entirely, hiding in the treetops somewhere as he stalked his prey at random.

Rent had grown quite accustomed to these park visits as they were more and more frequent as Manes got more and more restless, probably from the lack of communication with other Terras. And so he would bring Manes to the park, and relax on a bench with Law, soaking up some sun, or just getting a lungful of fresh air.

Parks were not Link's "thing". He did not do the outdoors. He did designer suits and parties with expensive alcohol. He did nightclubs with women of questionable morals but unquestionable good looks. But of course, that had been before the blue-haired alien-boy nightmare put his life on hold.

Said same child absolutely couldn't find a thing to do with himself. If Link left Riff alone for a minute, it seemed like he was destroying yet another pricey electronic device. Riff insisted that he could put them back together, but Link wasn't about to let him screw it up even more. Maybe child-wrought destruction was covered by the warranty, and even if it wasn't he knew it would be once he was through discussing it.

What he knew best of all was that Riff needed to get out of the house. Gwen insisted it was because he was lonely and needed companionship, but Link wasn't falling for that crap. All he needed was to run around outside for awhile instead of staying cooped up getting his skin bleached out by the glow of a television screen.

Coincidentally, Riff did not believe parks were his thing either, but no protesting would get his way. Attempting to blockade the door to his room only made Link angry and even more determined to get Riff out of the house. So after the destruction of said door with a crowbar, as well as Riff being physically hauled into the vehicle they arrived, both rather grumpy. Link settled himself on a bench with a newpaper, some coffee, and his leather briefcase. Another man was on a nearby bench, but Lincoln paid him no heed, instead occasionally glancing up to watch Riff.

Eyeing the lonesome jungle gym, Riff grimaced. Maybe if there were other kids around that'd be fun. He lumbered onto it for a few minutes until Link seemed to be satisfied and picked up his newspaper. When he was sure his guardian wasn't paying him anymore attention, Riff stealthily sped off into the woods. Now they would be fun, even if he was alone. Climbing trees, scaring the local fauna - it was a kid's paradise. Riff was fairly sure he'd have to get "lost" and live the rest of his days in the woods. It'd be much better than getting yelled at by Link.

Rent noticed the other person who appeared in the park, and also noticed the blue-haired boy. He wondered if his luck was really good, whether it was a wild coincidence, or if that was just some normal kid whos parents dressed him funny. At any rate he was fairly certain that the kid had sped off into the forest that Manes had spirited himself off into moments ago. And so he begun to wonder whether or not Manes would find him or not.

Manes had of course been honing his hunting skills every day since his emergence from the tube, and was therefore getting rather good by now. He had, in the short time he had been occupying the forest, tracked down at least seven different species of natural wildlife, and was in the middle of his eighth when he heard footsteps a ways off. Now Manes was fairly certain rent wouldn't disturb him while he was in here, mostly because Rent was usually to busy enjoying the fresh air, but also because Rent knew that every step he took left a footprint that Manes would use to sneak up on him, and in the most recent of cases trap him. Needless to say Manes grew curious of the new presence in the forest, and so he silently slunk along the treetops in a half visible form, remaining as stealthy as possible while he stalked his newest target.
