I'm a freshman, so I only have one year worth of dangerous marching moves.... but holy crap. I nearly died this year.
We had this one set where me and a few other people had 10 counts to back march about 2 yard lines worth through a line of quads. I fell a couple times, but thankfully only at practice.
So, post your hardest moves! (And sorry if there's already a thread like this. gonk )

Welll our show was like the Circus,. So there was this one part where me and the other two mellophonists(?) kept getting tromboned(?) in the back of the head! So our drum-majors let us move up to the front in the part, but we had to do something SPECIAL! So Hannah and I grabbed hands and put our feet by each other(making a ring). And Courtney(our section leader) put down her mellophone and did a jump/roll thing through it!! We were worried that she was gonna hit her head on our mellophones!

Hm, my section had a move where we would pass the bass drums and we both went in separate directions and most of the bass drums had their backs turned to us and they always almost backwards marched into us. x__x
And we had a scatter drill where the color guard behind be had to run straight through our line, so every time we did it, I had to run immediately to avoid being trampled by her and a flag. D:

Every year I've had one inpossible move (eight steps over six yard-line type things), but this year I had my first really dangerous move.
The sax line and the gaurd had a cross through. wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that the gaurd members couldn't see us, and were in the middle of a move where they spun their flags. My friend Crystal and I got hit in the head more than once. I flinched everytime we did that move.

let's see... last year, a line of baritones and mellophones that never lined up and we always crashed into each other... Also a guard thing where they exchanged flags to each other- right between the mellos. My horn got hit during practice and my lip started bleeding Then there was the crazy fast finale where I had to run backwards into a line with very small intervals. I whacked a saxophone in the head because he missed his step off and my mouth started bleeding at the biggest competition of the season.
And this year, the drill was pretty easy, except the company front. The entire band go in line in less than two step intervals, with the woodwinds coming in from behind. I got elbowed in the face by a really tall clarinet player, and whacked in the back by a flute. Really dangerous if someone messes up.

I'm on guard and my director put us in the middle of a square made of band kids. We had to move out of the square backwards spinning 6.5ft flags with 4ft silks. To make things worse the square got smaller as we were moving back. I really don't know why he did that but at least no on got seriously hurt.

My only dangerous marching move was my freshman year. I had to move backward quickly. At the same time, a line of flutes was coming forward. We were supposed to pass each other by, but as I couldn't see, I tripped over them often during practice until they learned to stay out of the way of the mellophone section. biggrin

Back step jazz run then an immediate turn to the left. You wouldn't believe how many times I fell.

Ours was this year. Near the end of our really tiring show, the drill writer set up 2 blocks that ran through each other completely across the field. I had to dodge through trombones.
Luckily, after several people injured themselves (including me with shin splints >.>) my director changed it to a section where we headbanged and danced.

We had to do this spin in 6 counts very quickly, if you didn't watch out, you would hit someone. It was crazy, but fun! Then we had to jazz run at the end of the show, that was pretty fun, too! 3nodding

well i only have one year of marching experience so i don't knw if this is as bad....but there was a part where the whole band was in sort of a rectangle and each line went in different directions like row 1 went left row 2 went right... well there were two lines of trombones and then 3 lines of tpts but like two in each line...and flutes and clarinets blah blah blah....well my friend was an idiot....(flute friend marching in a trumpet spot)......and went into the wrong line causing our line to get in the wrong line and made a huge painful collision with the trumpets trombones and a flute...it was pretty funny but scary too....lol
