my high school opened three years ago, pretty bran spanking new, and our band program has just recently started to really pull together
last year our director proposed the formation of a marching band program
and was met with our enthusiasm but our ASB would rather throw their money at our schools dance team than music programs so we went without uniforms for a while
when we finally got them we where told that we owe our ASB $10,000 to offset the costs. we thought that for the next few years we where destine to fund raise endlessly to pay them back until we heard a contest on the radio.
KZOK, a local radio station, is having a battle of the bands contest for high schools and the first prize is (( suprise! )) $10,000!
our music students have been voting but we are still a sad eighth place. could you guys help the musicians of Bonney Lake High School?

I really wish you good luck, though! My high school opened about five years ago, so we're not that much older than you guys. The second year the school opened, the marching program was started, and we're starting to make a name for ourselves. I wish you the same!

Well, if you don't win, you can get all the people fromthe fine arts department to start a fundraiser, such as a bake sale or car wash something or other.

i don't understand why a lot of ASBs don't appreciate their bands
every school i've been to has had an under-supported music program

it was pretty good, surprisingly, even through every guy in my section managed to burn their projects beyond recognition
but we are trumpets so it makes sense haha

I know what you mean about the school not caring about the music program. When our school does show interest, it's to the choir. Bandos are freak-os to them.

Of course, I'll vote. I know what it's like to come from nothing. My high school didn't get anything until they fundraised the crap out of the community. And my college, we have absolutely nothing that we need. It's awful.

what we do at my school is put on a spagetti dinner every year somewhere in the spring. We have band members volunteer to be waiters, have spagetti in the caffeteria with a small band playing most of the time(like Jazz band, Jr. High Jazz band, Choirs, soloists, ect.) We have our big bands playing in the auditorium so people can see everything the music department has and then some. Usually we can get donations of materials from the community and have band parents help out with cooking. I think we raised 5,000 or so last year. Is your whole Music program combined into one financial group or are orchestra, choir, and band seperate? And how many band members do you have so far?
