Battlefield randomizer!
The spinner's arrow spun as a red blur while everyone looked on. The tension was building when it began to slow down, and stopped. The battlefield chosen was...!
The water field! Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water.

Piney leaned against the podium, staring at the clear water down below. This field again. So many memorable battles were held here, not that she's been in Pokemon battles recently. It has been a while since she had been to the stadium. Police duties had kept her away, but it's not like she was upset about that. Work was work after all.
"Do your best Twilight!" She threw the Pokeball and it released the pale-colored Absol onto the center platform. She shook her head to shake out the nervousness of her first battle. Does she really have to live up to her mother's reputation?

((Bell's no veteran. XD She hasn't even completed one battle, though she is in several currently...))
"Ahh..." Renekai sighed. "It's not the electric field! Thank goodness for that. Water is okay, but ice is better... Oh well. Out you go, Bell!" Renekai held up Bell's Pokéball and pressed the button. The ball grew larger, then opened up, sending a red beam of light onto Bell's place in the stadium. Bell materialized with a chirp of confidence. Renekai looked over to her opponents, then smiled. "Good luck!" she called.
"I wonder why she always wishes her rivals luck," Bell wondered aloud in Pokémon language, of course. "She wants to win. So why give luck to the Pokémon that you're trying to beat? It's illogical. Well." Bell fluffed herself up and examined the field. That pool of water could be dangerous. "I won't go easy on you, Absol, and I won't wish you luck. Let's just see who wins. Let it be a fair match."

"Then no hard feelings when I do this?" Bell asked, then bolted towards the Absol with a Quick Attack.
Renekai blinked. "I guess Bell's ready for battle! No more chit-chat, eh, Bell?" Renekai smiled. Time for the battle to begin.

Twilight was distracted when Bell executed her first move. She recieved the Quick attack full force and went flying off the platform. She tried her best not fall into the water, and landed on another one through some skittering.
Things were not going well for her right off the bat. Hopefully they can still pull the battle off with some luck.
"Psycho cut!"
Twilight concentrated on the blade by the side of her head, pooling psychic energy around it and unleashing it as a mighty glowing slash right at the Delibird.

Bell wasn't going to be beaten by an amateur! She easily dodged the cut, then flew higher, trying to buy time for Renekai to give an order.
"Areial Ace!" Renekai called, glad that her Delibird was giving her a chance to decide on the attack.
Bell agreed that this attack was wise, seeing as Twilight was below and Bell was above. She angled her wings carefully, then dove at the Absol, ready to tear Twilight's back with her extended talons.

Twilight was amused by the fact that such a stubby Pokemon was flying, and got a backful of talon in return. She yelped and rolled over, the claws leaving scratches in her back but at least she got off of her.
The Absol lost almost half of her HP and the opponent didn't get a scratch yet. This was looking very bad, but it's not over yet.
"Use a Shadow ball!" She called out.
Twilight positioned herself behind Bell, and gathered a different kind of energy than the last move. It formed a dark pulsing ball that launched itself at her.

Bell was unbalanced when Twilight shook her off, but then she got a face full of Shadow Ball. Bell fell to the floor, then quickly found her feet.
"Mega Kick!" Renekai shouted quickly.
Bell charged at the offending Absol, drew her leg back, then swung it forward in a mighty kick. Hopefully Bell would return the favor of a face full of pain...

[Mega kick? How can a Delibird use Mega kick? Twilight braced herself for the incoming attack, and got kicked in the head. Slightly dazed, she was pushed to the edge of the platform but managed to stay on.
"Shake out of it!" Piney shouted to Twilight, and was pleased to see that she was still ok to fight.
"Now a Night Slash!"
Twilight kept herself light on her feet incase Bell decided to attack her while she was preparing it. Gathering the dark energy resonating in the room, she formed it into another blade, bigger than the first, and flung it at her.

(( Here.)) Bell managed to dodge the worst of the attack, but she was still hit. A few feathers and a drop or two of blood was the only proof of the success, however, because Bell immediatly countered with another Quick Attack."Keep going, Bell!" Renekai called. She'd let Bell get away with not waiting for Renekai's command this time. [600/800]

Twilight saw the incoming attack and flattened herself on the floor. She waited until Bell was clearly away from her, and got up after sliding herself to the other side of the platform.
"Good job!" Piney said. "Try Hidden Power!"
Even though she didn't know how to do it very well. Inheirited TM moves were hard to execute, but she'll have to try it anyway.
Twilight summoned several glowing balls, gaining momentum rapidly before she hurled them to all directions.

"Oooh... Keep your feet, Bell!" Renekai called as she saw Bell stumble. What would be the best move to hurt a Pokémon that was behind your own? Battle tactics flashed through Renekai's mind, and in a split second, Renekai shouted, "Use Aerial Ace!"
Bell had used Aerial Ace plenty of times, but in order to quickly hit Twilight, she'd have to turn around in mid-air. Just normally turning would be too slow! There was a manuever that Bell had used once in a battle with Prince... It was complicated, but Bell thought that she could do it. She leaped into the air, flipped upside down, then righted herself as she dove at Twilight. She lowered a talon to tear across the Absol's back.
