The sun was wonderful on his blue hide, warm and soothing. Making him gloriously sleepy. Legs stretched out and akimbo, short tail flopped lazily in half hearted flicks against his rump against the few ever present bothersome insects. Long neck with its short cropped blue mane stretched out, tickled on occasion by the lush grass blades that swayed faintly in the warm breeze.
One wouldn't think that it was winter still, but Cloud knew a secret. A special place sheltered from the wind and rain and snow, where the grass still grew green and the sun shone at noon. The place was like a paradise compared to the cold wet drifts that plagued the forest around.
Giving a happy sigh he stretched out his legs with a heavy, satisfied yawn before resettling. Laying flat out on his side, eyes closed, probably wasn't the most elegant of poses. But the moss that clung to life here in the little glade was still soft and warmed from the sun that remained despite the clouds that drifted across the grey skies.
