"Damn Snow..." Cloud muttered to himself as he ploughed through the deep drift, cold flakes brushing against his underside, making him shiver as he forced his way through. A hoof struck a solid rock and he lunged forwards, dragging his white-dusted blue body out of the deep slushy leg-sucking drift onto slightly higher ground.

Pausing for a moment he planted his solid hooves and with a snort shook his coat violently, short mane flying. Lifting his head he squinted his eyes against the reflected glare from the snow and looked around.

How he came to be wading through the freezing whiteness up here in the middle of no-where was a complete mystery to him. Having been out for a while and just wandering where ever the path took him then suddenly being dropped into this world of white. Wrinkling his muzzle he snorted, clearing the melting flakes from his nostrils before moving forwards. Strong legs pushed through the wind-packed snow, firm hooves seeking out safe ground to support his weight as he ploughed forwards.

Suddenly, in the glare of the whiteness, he spotted a black mark set out in the open away from the few skeletal black-coloured trees that grew up out of the frozen snow. Altering his direction he slowly made his way towards it, hoping perhaps for a bite of grass or a drink of water, but at the very least, a brief rest before he moved on.

Which probably would have been something of a sock to the stallion. As it was however he hadn't yet spotted the mare, intent only on the dark smudge of stone he could see through narrowed eyes. Head down he forced his way through one last drift before with a surprised stumble, he scrambled up a hidden slope onto higher and shallower snow-covered ground.

Stopping in front of the rock he dipped his head, snuffling at the dark lump laying under the overhang, or what he could see of it. It took him a moment to realise what it was. Snorting in surprise he lifted his head and blinked, ears flickering. "Well I never...."

A sudden sharp gust of wind blew up his rear under his short tail, making him snort. Dropping his head he swiftly but carefully manoeuvred himself under the overhang. His ears brushed against the roof but it was height enough to allow him to stand, though he had to keep his head low. Shifting he tucked himself against the rock wall, facing the whiteness outside.

The faint movement of the shadow at his feet caught his attention instantly and his ears pricked forwards as he dropped his muzzle. Neck stretching out as he slowly inched his nose closer, nostrils flared to catch the stranger's scent. Curious.

His own dark blue gaze lifted to meet the female's as she moved. Ears pricked, one flicking as his own upright mane tickled one, he dipped his muzzle slightly in greeting. "Hello there." Swinging his head round he peered out at the snow that was starting to dance like ghosts across the landscape, clearly the wind was picking up some.

Looking back at her he nodded, brow lifting slightly. "Indeed not... but then again I am actually kind of lost." He shifted his front hoof slightly, shoulder muscles flickering as a stray snowflake landed on him, cold and wet.

Her comment brought a warm chuckle from the male as he dropped his head, hot breath puffing over her mane, ruffling it. "Now now.. what makes you think you are bad company. You are certainly the most interesting thing I’ve found all day."

He smiled as she gave him her name and dipped his head, his forelock flopping against his forehead. "I’m Cloud Runner.. or just Cloud." He replied, an ear flickering as the mare shifted slightly.

The comment about getting lost made him chuckle warmly. "So it is. I have no home as yet so I do not worry about where I am too much. I just enjoy wandering around and exploring. The time will come when I need to stay in one place, but for now. I can go where I please, within reason of course."

Both brows lifted in something akin to amusement or playful confidence. The blue-hued stranger was a little difficult to read behind that cheerful expression. "I admit that it is true that I have met very few other Soquili, but I must argue with you, for you are indeed most interesting and despite the weather, very beautiful."

Boldly he dipped his head and caught a clump of her mane in his lips playfully. Letting go only to huff over the hair, making the colours within dance along her crest.

He grinned at her as she nipped him, blue eyes sparkling with amused playfulness. Dipping his head, neck arching to snake sideways he caught her braid in his teeth, lifting his muzzle up and dropping the braid to make it bounce to the other side of her neck.

"Don't be so hard on your self. You are far from plain. Your mane is beautiful, like the banded tail of a forest lemur. Your coat, though in need of a little care, is such a lovely rich tone." Stepping forward he huffed softly, puffing her forelock out of the way and delicately touching her star with his muzzle. "Touched by the havens. How can you think yourself plain? On the other hand, I really am plain. Blue, blue and more blue... " He smiled down at the cute little mare.

He huffed softly as she re-settled her braid. Quire clearly oblivious to his perhaps strangeness. He thought her blush was adorable and he wondered if he could get her to do it again some time. She really was incredibly cute.

Chuckling at the light n** he glanced down at his own chest before looking back at her, his upright mane bobbing with the movement of his head. Grinning he nickered softly with light laughter, a sound akin to a summer breeze. "My pleasure, since it is true."

Pausing a moment he shook slightly, dislodging the few stray snow flakes that had drifted into their little shelter. Chuckling he arched a brow, glancing at his blue flank. "Thank you.. I guess I match the weather right now, no?" Chuckling he carefully folded his forelegs and eased his body down to lay beside her. The low roof had started to make his neck ache.

Settling he gently rubbed his cheek against her neck in a friendly yet polite manner. "Thank you for letting me shelter with you. And for letting me meet you." He smiled warmly, ears pricked forward.

When the adorable little mare looked out, he followed her gaze, dark eyes sweeping over the expanse of white that greeted him. He had no great desire to go charging out there again so soon. His coat was still wet from the clinging flakes of snow and also, he wanted to spend a little more time with Morgana.

The blue and white coat rippled under the light n** of the mare's teeth, drawing his attention back with an amused grin. "Too true. Though you never know what is happening beyond the horizon. There could be rainbows made of candy-coloured grass for all we know." Giving her a playful look from under arched brows he chuckled at the subsequent blush that graced her features. She really was too cute.

"Of course it is a pleasure. You are a very interesting mare, and one I hope to get to know a little better before the weather turns." He replied, smiling. His upright mane rippling with a wind that slipped through their shelter, between his pricked ears.
