for some reason sports analysts and fans always say that kickers are not players and not really part of the team....i totally disagree its stupid to say i mean kickers are the ones who win the games 60% of the time...look at the patriots they never would have won as many superbowls as they have without adam vinatiari....most of there superbowl victories have been by three pionts or less

Well...I play soccer, and when you grow up playing it, I notice that kicking or punting over 50 yards isn't too much to worry about (besides a bit of accuracy and experience).

Kickers and punters, long snappers, and holders are definitely part of the team. The kickers are usually the highest scoring players on a team, while the punter is the most important in the field position battle.

Anyways, kickers' contracts are pretty high for a "skilled" position, with $1-$3 million per year. Also, there a lot of rules to protect kickers and punters, some of which (like accidentally running into them) should be either dropped or reviewed.

lol my brother "accidently" tackled me after I had kicked the ball on madden, but since the camera follows the ball he didn't get penalized for it, even though my kicker got hurt... lol

Oh, lol.

I never noticed that...

Anyways, of my like 8 year career of playing Madden, I've never blocked a punt or a kick...They've missed FGs or had bad punts, but I usually never had anything to do with that... confused

But I do get penalized a few times here and their for roughing the kicker... stressed

I don't do that, because it wastes too much time off the clock, with penalties...I like nice, quick games... razz

yea so do I, but when I play any of my brothers, its a battle, and none of us care how long it takes, just as long as we win. lol When I play my brothers, it requires a lot of stradegy. Like shanny's iceing the kicker. Thats one thing we use all the time. On side kicks, roughing the kicker, and pass interference are quite frequent. And I hate on side kicks, with a passion. lol My brother is really good at them, but I'm almost always able to get the ball. cool And we don't really try to rush the ball, we almost always throw it, which leads to many touchdowns. Last time I played my brother adam, the score was my team 134-127. lol

No, we play with no extra timeouts and we have it set for 5 min quarters. When I used to play online I kicked a**, but I used to fumble a lot too, but I got the ball back most of the time.
