To kickoff 2008 and the guild's first anniversary, I'm hosting a contest! It's going to be one of a kind unlike any other!

How it will work:

You are not allowed to bump. Your post can be anything you want it to be, except for a bump. You can start a game with your post, a random topic, a mini RP, talk about yourself, start a conversation, the possibilities are only limited to not using bump. Try to be creative.

Rules:

1. Keep things within Gaia's ToS
2. Your post may not include the word bump
3. Label every 5th post somewhere(i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20...)
4. Hmm...just have fun!!!

Other things:

1. This competition starts February 1st and ends February 29th.
2. You must be a member of the guild to participate
3. I don't know what Gaia's record for the most posts made by a person in any thread is, but I want to try and set a high known standard for that
4. Anybody that can make at least 5000 posts, I'll give that person a very special prize. Make even more posts and the prize becomes even sweeter!
5. You don't gain gold for using the word bump

Prizes:


The 1st place winner will recieve 20k. The second place winner will recieve (#of total posts x 10g) gold.*

i.e. lets say the total number of posts for this thread are 800 so, 800 posts x 10g= 8000g 2nd place prize


Special Bonus:


Winner gets an additional 5g for every post everyone else made.
Everybody gets 1g for every post he/she makes.



Special Special Bonus:


Earn 10g or 100g for every post you make in the guild for one week- February 7 to Feb 14**. They can't be spam, stupid senseless posts...they have to be real and make sense.



The way it will work is at the end of the week, I will do a random number generator ranging from how many posts you had before this competition started to how many posts you had after this competition started for everyone. If the number generated is very high, I will multiply it by 10g, if it is low I will multiply it by 100g (what I consider a high number and a low number will vary since people will have different amounts of posts).


Special Special Special Bonus:

Everyday I'll randomly give it out gold to someone.***

I'll use Gaia's random number generator to select the page and also to select the post. Then I'll roll 20 die, each with 100 sides, and multiply the outcome by anywhere from 5-10, and whatever that number turns out to be is how much gold the person will get.****

i.e. date February 2nd, 3 pages for that date; random number generator between 1 and 3- #2 generated; page 2, posts 14; random generator between 1 and 14- #5 generated; for post 5, roll 20 100 sided die-#1000 rolled; multiply 1000 by 7;the person with the 5th post on page 2 gets 7000g.


*if the second place prize becomes bigger than the first place prize, then I'll swap them around...also I will change the amount of gold won should there be a huge number of posts (i.e. 10,000 posts)
if you're interested you can request me to switch the prize-1st and 2nd place- to a guild with multiple subforums-often at least 6 subforums!

**to ensure that people don't post just for the contest and then stop, you must continue being an active member for 2 months before I'll give you the gold you won, and even after that I expect you to continue being an active member.

*** i doubt I'll be on everyday, so if I miss a day, then I will select a winner for the day that I missed the next time I'm on.

**** i realize this isn't completely fair as sometimes one person or just two people or only a few people can take up several pages, therefore, I do have a backup plan for whenever this happens to ensure the daily giveaway is as fair as possible.

I recently followed the advice of a friend to invest in the evolving items and spent all of the gold I had remaining on them when they were cheap and rising in price. Well that's turned out to be a huge loss. One item has completely dropped in price and the other items I should have sold when they were 8k above what I bought them for and now they're below what I bought them for as well. Luckily I have plenty of garlic left to sell, and make a profit from, so if all of you could just give me a week, I'll have enough gold to meet 9k biggrin

lol maybe, if i have enough gold. i would make it so that everybody gets free gold, but i think i would change the shape of the contest to make it more into a party for the guild than an ad
