Progress. That's what it was. Just one more step towards a goal that had now been long held by the slender Melancholy. He and Dariyn were again headed to tutoring, but this time, not by one of the teachers, but by the twins...Empyreans that Zethyr had seen and talked to in passing, but had never really become acquainted with, and Dariyn certainly hadn't. However, they were Twos now...and that meant that they suddenly could not only tutor, but had more authority in doing so. Indigo eyes glanced about the area...the twins were usually found in the Infirmary, according to them...so Zethyr had dragged his friend that way, though Dariyn was quite shy when it came to talking with anyone he knew that wasn't an 'adult'. For some reason adults didn't intimidate him as much as his peers or even older students.

Dariyn, ever the faithful follower, was padding after Zethyr, the little Phlegmatic looking every inch the scared child pulled away from his mother's skirts on the first day of school. However, that was how he looked just about every day, so Zethyr wasn't letting it sway him. Zethyr was always so adamant about things...Dariyn couldn't understand how he or any of the others did it. People were scary! D:
But at least...at least this was music they were studying, a subject that both Zethyr and Dariyn alike enjoyed.

Aureus and Argentum, as usual, were in the Infirmary going about their chores. They'd recently Ascended to Stage Two and that more responsibilities in their various jobs. They had earned the right to offer a few select services in the Dreaming Pool and they could now treat injuries without supervision. As it as, the visiting zeroes would find them during a quiet period.
All about them, birds twittered and flew around, alighting on various perches set up in the peaceful Aviary just off the main Infirmary wing. A quiet singing echoed about as the two tossed a wordless song between them, taking the opportunity to just relax.

Listening, Zethyr could hear the two of them, just barely, above the other subtle sounds that were primarily provided by the Aviary. Zethyr had been here once or twice, but didn't stay long. He enjoyed being around people, and preferred having someone near for relaxation purposes. Thus...he spent a copious amount of time at the dreaming pool...visiting a certain someone.
Dariyn however was the first to spot the twins, and he tugged on Zethyr's sleeve. The Melancholy raised his hand in a wave and he veered over towards them. "Hullo." He greeted, voice still rather soft, as though unwilling to disturb the atmosphere of the place.
The smaller Zero echoed the greeting in a just barely to be heard whisper, staring just a bit at the other two. He hadn't seen them since they had ascended...and they were...very lovely on the eyes, like one of Morrow's paintings given life.

Argentum was the first to look up, blinking even as he finished off the particular section he was in the middle of. Rising, he nodded in response and tacked on a musical 'hello' onto the end as he walked over to Aureus and placed a hand on his brother's shoulder.
"Hello?" He blinked as he turned around, tilting his head in question then caught sight of Zethyr and Dariyn, "Oh! Hello!" He grinned and turned around fully to stand beside his Echo. Now around thirty years old, physically, the two cut a regal and noble figure. Fluttering his wings, the muted golden yellow twin walked over with a smile, the glow about his halo remaining bright as the power they'd raised hung in the air like a blanket.
Argentum wasn't far behind and grinned in greeting as well, "Something wrong, boys?" He knelt and looked them over, making sure they were alright. The atmosphere held, however, a trick of Upkeep the two had learned so they wouldn't have to sing for a long time if the effect was needed. It was like ambient calm.

Zethyr grinned widely at the two, not intimidated by them in the least, more, his opinion of them was just below a quiet sense of awe, a respect...and that was probably the way it should be, considering that Zethyr was just gaining that generally needed respect for those older than he and in certain positions of authority. "Nothing at all is wrong." He replied easily, responding to Argentum's question. "Dariyn and I were just curious to see if we might procure some tutoring from the two of you..."
Now, for those who knew Zethyr, it might seem an odd thing that he'd been seeking tutoring lately, for studies had never precisely been his preferred forte...but for those who knew of his private goal...and his interests of late...it was easily understandable.
Dariyn just nodded his assent, the quiet one as always. Zethyr was in charge here, and it was much easier just to stand and let the other be his mouth until something was directed at the Phlegmatic specifically...or until Zethyr would no longer let him be silent.

Argentum blinked as he stood, "Tutoring?" Crossing his arms, they let the ambiance fade so that their attention could focus on the two before them. "Something in particular you're looking for help on?" Argentum flashed a winning smile and gestured for them to follow he and Aureus to a nearby group of benches.
Aureus laughed softly, "You know who we are, but we aren't familiar with you. Mind telling us your names? Might help things along." He winked as he stole up beside Argentum and wrapped an arm about his shoulders to pause him.
Argentum nodded, realizing his oversight and grinned at his echo. "Yeah. That'd definitely be helpful. We could call you by something other then 'hey you' then."

Zethyr chuckled, "I'm Zethyr. And I think music is what we had in mind, and the settings seem fairly conducive to that particular subject...somehow." It really was rather lovely in here, the settings indeed seeming to put a calming mood on the entire meeting. Following the twins, he nudged Dariyn to introduce himself, knowing that the other had probably expected the other boy to introduce them both...but Zethyr had purposefully not done so.
"I...I'm Dariyn." He murmured, watching the two of them and then raising a hand to thoughtfully twirl a strand of hair. He was indeed chronically shy, and though he could be forced to talk, one generally needed to know him for quite some time in order to really break him out of his shell...unless he simply took to you, as he had Morrow.

Lacing hands together, the twins nodded, "Of course! Come then, and we'll teach you a thing or two." Winking, Argentum turned about and the two of them took seats on the benches, close together as always. Smiling widely, Argentum waved at Dariyn, "Hello~" He was being deliberate cheerful in the hopes that this shy one might actually take a step forward. Both Aureus and Argentum could tell Zethyr was the one who lead and while it was something they understood, it would be nice to hear Dariyn's opinions from his own mouth.
Aureus clapped his hands together with a broad smile that echoed his brother's, "Where would you like to start?" As he spoke, he reached out and drew an image with five parallel lines and a trebleclef to the left. It was a bright glowing image that seemed to shimmer between silver and gold, a physical manifestation of the essence the twins shared. "Did you want the techincal or the magical? We'll cover both but it's up to you where we begin."

Zethyr was entirely with Argentum, in truth, in wanting Dariyn to branch out, and become less introverted, get to meet new people. He could easily have answered the question, made the decision for the two of them, but instead he glanced over at his friend, and looked at him expectantly.
Dariyn had come to sit down next to Zethyr on the benches, and blinked, suddenly realizing that all attention was focused on him. "Ah...Magical..." He said quietly, realizing that if he didn't say anything, then nothing was going to happen, and Dariyn, if nothing else, did want to study just as much as Zethyr did, if for his own reasons. He was an enthusiastic student, albeit quiet.

"Magic, hnn?" Argentum smiled, obviously pleased with the choice and added notes to the scale, A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Each was labelled and in it's proper place on the staff. "Music is a magic of it's own, each note has a quality to that builds into your spell casting and boots it. There are no specific spells associet with Bardic magic. However, it is an alternate way of casting magic - particuclarly useful is Tribal and Ritual magic."
Aureus nodded and sang through the notes, each one flaring as he hit it, "Obviously, the higher the note, the higher the sound and the lower the note the lower the sound." Gesturing at the staff, the golden twin locked gazes with Dariyn, smiling mischievously, "We'll make a game of this. You pick a note, we'll sing it, and you two figure out what it's properties are. Fair?"

Zethyr grinned and nodded, "I think we can handle that." He replied, sitting back, ready to listen. This was one of the more fun subjects, one that didn't bore him. And though those particular types of magic weren't his forte, he did enjoy this.
Dariyn on the other hand, wiggled a bit in anticipation, especially when they mentioned Ritual magic, and then he nodded when the question came. "I...I think I could at least try that..." He murmured, though he was probably more educated on the subject than Zethyr.

Aureus and Argentum smiled cheerfully at that, glad that they had the Zeroes' attention now. They both noted that Dariyn perked at the mention of Ritual magic, and the spoke in unison, "You are interested in Ritual Magic?" It was their chosen magic and their strength. "Once we're done, would you like to learn a spell?"
Their gaze travelled from one to the other, "But first, you must learn about Music. That's what you're here for, after all. Pick a note now, then." Their voices matched perfectly and seemed more like one person speaking then two, a tendency that had grown more pronounced as they'd ascended.

Zethyr was quiet this time, again turning to the smaller Empyrean. This was a subject that Dariyn was particularly fascinated in...that he had a future in, and not simply a hobby, and so he let him answer once more, besides, they had been talking to Dariyn, and not the Melancholy...so he watched with a knowing little smirk.
Dariyn smiled shyly at the elder Empyreans, and nodded, "I...yes...I really enjoy the studies in that area...and I'd love to learn a spell..." Easily guessing that Zethyr wasn't going to pick a note either, he contemplated that for a moment, and then went on, "And...I think C is a good place to start."

"C it is then." Aureus nodded, the corresponding note resonating as Argentum inhaled and then hummed in that pitch. Arching a brow, he allowed their essence to become visible with the sound as they let the note influence it. A shimmering barrier-like shape rose around Zethyr and Dariyn, barely visible and resonating with the sound. A moment later, Argentum's tone trailed off and the barrier faded with it. "What do you think it influences?"
Argentum folded his hands and watched the two with a smile, wondering if Aureus' clue might help the them. It was was one of more indirect notes and therefore one of the more difficult ones to figure out.

The two looked between them, and Zethyr arched an eyebrow. He'd watched, listening intently and was indeed very glad for the hint that Aureus had given to the two students. "I would guess...barrier spells? Defense perhaps?" He inquired putting both hands on the bench and leaning back a bit.
Dariyn nodded, agreeing with Zethyr, "Barriers...and...containment spells?" He was racking his brain, trying to remember things he'd read and taken notes on...and he knew there was supposed to be more, but those were the ones that had lingered.
