So Im very very worried about them screwing up the movie. Because they always do! They sure did in the move Blood and Chocolate, and I love that book.
If you havent read Blood and Chocolate I strongly suggest it if you liked twilight, though it isnt as good, its still wonderful.

I think that if they screw up the movie they will have many angry readers, myself included.

Im so worried! I love the movie and im worried it will ruin the book for me!

Is this just me?

This has been brought up many, many times.

We can only hope. While the obvious example is Blood and Chocolate, there are also many movies from books that followed very well.

The directors are aware of what is ahead of them, they know there is a large and fan base, and any smart director would use that as an advantage.

honestly? we know that they wont stay exact to the book, they never do.

We can at least HOPE that the stay close to the story, you know what i mean, don't leave out any charaters, don't leave out important information, stay close to the look of the character (and don't tell me that they're not just because of the actors so far, that is what make-up and props, and wardrobe(sp) is for.) and for god's sake lets hope they keep the right personalities and the right people.

i know what you mean by blood and chocolate though. I was mad that they made that one guy evil when he really wasn't, yeah, wasn't pleased. lets hope they don't do anything drastic like that in twilight, shall we?

Yeah, we pretty much know that it won't be exact. You try making a screenplay from a book and actually keep the audiences interest. It's not like you can just say her thoughts all the time. But sometimes movie made from books just ignore some simple details that could easily be changed and sometimes they cut out some parts that you thought would be really important. Who knows. They could totally botch this movie, or it could be good.

Honestly, I think the Twilight movie will be a step up from the book. Since it's a movie, it will actually have a plot a bit more earlier than the book did.
I mean, they can't honestly make a movie with the first 2/3 of it just Bella moving and complaining about Forks, Bella and Edward meeting, staring at each other, and thinking. :/ In the beginning, there is a lot of blah stuff that most likely would be cut out.
There isn't a lot that they could possibly screw up anyways. Average girl falls irrationally in love with vampire, said vampires tries to keep it a secret but fails, meet family, play baseball, meet up with James' coven, try to escape, Bella falls for James' plan, Cullens save the day. If they screw that up, then their director is very imcompetent.

I agree. The only thing they could do would be to change the ending, like the do sometimes when books get turned into movies, and I don't think they will do that. My only concern is how the actors and actresses play the charaters.

Are you kidding? The Blood and Chocolate movie was infinitely better than the book. The book wasn't that good, IMO. I mean, I kind of wished there had been a Kelly so that Vivian could have trashed her room. But other than that...the plot was better, and I even liked all of the characters better *didn't like book Vivian much*

I don't think the Twilight movie is going to stray from the book like Blood and Chocolate did though. Stephenie Meyer has had too much involvement for there to be any extreme changes. Annette Curtis Clause had little to no involvement in the making of Blood and Chocolate.

I personally loved the book Blood and Chocolate. The movie changed the entire theme or "moral" of the book plot. I understand why you feel that way though. As for Twilight, Stephenie was there while they were shooting parts, has seen it, and says it didn't stray too much. Most of the important scenes and dialogues seem to be in there, so I think it will turn out great.

I'm excited about it now that I don't think much will change. That, and the previews make it look pretty exciting! Only 3 days left. I can't wait!

Just watched the movie!

No, they didn't "screw it up"
They stayed very true to the book, although they added a few scenes and took a few away. The main memorable ones are in there. The heroin line was kept, as well with the lion and lamb line - that made me happy. And the few things that were added were so cute and pretty funny!
Nevertheless they stayed to the plot....and the ending...even better then the books.

I'm very content.

Oh, my god. It was... so bad. This movie broke my heart, and not in a good way. It started off ok, but my god, would it have killed Kristin Stewart to show a little emotion in her performance? Maybe a SMILE here or there? There was no chemistry between Edward and Bella, no dvelopment of their relationship (it was like "Nice to meet you. Oh hey, I think we're soulmates or something.") no adorable witty banter bewteen the two, no personality development to ANY of the characters. Bella in he book is a completly different character than movie-Bella. A stupid, monotone shell of nothing. And Edward was so AWKWARD, and not in a cute way. People were laughing in the theatre because it was so bad. The best actor in the movie was probably Charlie. Or Alice, who would have been great if they gave her lines or her backstory. There were some good moments, don't get me wrong, but moments don't make a story. This was not the right story. Not only was it not true to the book, but as a movie it was bad too. Someone teach them how to FILM, please.

Oh, and meadow scene was destroyed. Unforgivable. I walked out of that theatre so sad.
