She had had a few encounters since she had left banda to sleep beneath the trees in peace, those encounters had been both enlightening and frustrating, but she knew, all too well that the only thing she could do now, was tell Banda. He had to know about the pride he was goign to. Had to know about the queen and the hierarchey. Had to know the place of males.
The one thing she didn't want to tell him though, was of the situation she had put herself in to falling in love with a male.Taking a deep cleansing breath she padded quietly through the undergrowth, her tail lifted high, her chin jutted forwards.
This trying to seem regal lark, just wasn't her, and as usual, the first branch which jutted out beneath her feet caused her to tumble. She landed roguhly, on something soft and squishy,a nd without a moments hesitation she realised what it was. "Hi Banda." She whispers, her voice full of appology. Why must she, in every situation be so damned clumbsy?

Banda's head bent over a large pile of what appeared to be scraps. Leaves, seashells, flowers, but one mans scrapes were another treasure. His paws worked furiously, pulling and snapping with his jaws. Thin, strips of bark torn from a large tree near by were laid askew, some even twisted into Banda's flamboyant mane. Grabbing one of the strands, he pulled tightly on it, his teeth managing to shove it through a crack in a seashell. Then he thrust a flower petal on, then another seashell. The work was slow, and hard to do with only a set of jaws, but in another instance he grinned proudly and grabbed the jumbled mess tightly in his jaws. His head swung around only to have Gurami meet him full force, and the small treasure slip from his grasp and land precariously on a tree branch.
"Oh! Hey Gurami." Banda mumbled through a mouth full of her fur. It might have been soft and beautiful, but it didn't taste good in his mouth. He had nearly forgotten about the trinket with the fur taking its place. Banda's eyes widened in disgust at himself as he turned swiftly to the tree behind him where all his supplies lay. All his supplies, no trinket. He turned franticly, but seemed to calm when he noticed it swinging on a branch. With a firm jaw this time, he pulled it slowly down with one of his canine teeth.
"Here Gurami! I made this for you." He managed to say as he laid down the trinket. It looked like a necklace, but who knows what it really was. It was crudely done, no pattern intended either. It went feather, flower, feather, seashell, flower, feather, stick, and so forth. But Banda seemed oftly proud, grinning like he was on top of the world.
"You like it?" He asked eagerly with a smile.

"Hey." She whispers righting herself slowly. She was glad that Banda thought her tripping was cute. It was just a pain in the tail that she never could really stop herself from doing it. She had to pay more attention to where her feet were going.
Shaking her fur to rid herself of the dust that had settled there the pale female finally let her gaze rest on Banda. She smiled softly and was about to give him a nuzzle when he started looking around frantically for soemthing. She thought for a moment that she must be invisable, but then he turned and presented ehr with his gift.
Giggling gently she put her nose out to meet him "Oh it's lovely Banda." She puurrs, tipping her nose to lift the gift from him before letting it roll down her neck. Clearly he had put alot of effort in to his gift and she was very glad of it.
Turning her lilac eyed gaze upon her mate she gave him a loving nuzzle. "you're so wonderful Banda." Pausing she gave a sigh. She had to stop gushing over the big orange maned male. It was going to get her in trouble.
Swallowing she sat slowly and tried to look regal for her mate. "We have to have a serious conversation Banda." She paused for a moment her gaze looking a little hazey. It was hard to think serious thoughts when all she wanted to do was snuggle with Banda and play their silly games. No! She ahd to be serious. "I went and spoke to my queen Banda, she says you are allowed to come with me." She surpressed a whoop, though she smiled at him ever so sweetly, this was the good part of this conversation, there was a but. "But..I have to tell you all about my pride before we travel on..."

Banda grinned, his eyes beaming with pride.
"Thanks Gurami. I..made it special for you. I even when out looking for yellow feathers and yellow seashells, see? I couldn't find a yellow stick, but I'm glad you like it." He took a step forward and reached out to nuzzle Gurami's cheek. She always seemed so calm, so collected. Where as for all he knew Banda could be mumbling like a fool. She was just so...perfect. Where all mates perfect in the eyes of their loves, or was Banda hypnotized by those lilac eyes? He shrugged it of gently and padded to Gurami's side, shoulder to shoulder.
"I'm up for any conversation. Just as long...as it's with you." A light blush dusted Banda's cheeks. What was with him and the mushy stuff today? Besides, Gurami had said "serious" so Banda straightened out rather quickly, hoping dearly he hadn't embarrassed himself.
"Oh yeah! I've been rather curious about this elusive female pride." He suppressed a smile, trying to be as serious as possible. That’s what Gurami wanted right now, right? For him to be serious?

For a long moment Gurami was silent. She had to tell Banda the truth, he had to know of her pride. "Many generations ago, our pride was ruled by a foul king. He punished and degraded all females, sending many to their deaths on his wikid whims. One day a group of females banded together and overthrew the king, since that day females have ruled our pride." She paused and took a deep breath. "Because of that kings awful ways, the males of our pride are expected to do things that usually a female would do. They are expected to hunt and care for the cubs. The females of our pride are the warriors the rulers."
Swallowing she looked at Banda with her pale lilac eyes. "There is another thing, usually, males of our pride live together and a female will choose them to mate, to produce them cubs then they return them to the males when their job is over. In some cases, the couple stays together but if another female fancies the male she may be challanged to take him from her." Her ears flattened slightly. It was the last thing in the world she wanted to have Banda stolen from her. She kept telling herself that would never happen. After all you bread for colour and banda was white as a sheet, more or less.
Remaining silent she awaited his reaction to all of this. Would he still come? It would truely break her heart if he didn't.

Banda stood for a moment, unmoved eyes focused on Gurami. Take him away? Like, like some sort of possession? He wouldn't mind belonging to Gurami, he loved her. But what if another female did take a like to him, not that she would but if...could she really just take him? A long sigh dragged out his thoughts. Visions of Gurami fighting a shadowy lioness circled his thoughts, Banda all the while staring in horror from the sidelines as other lionesses rooted them on. His ears pinned back, he finally lifted his eyes from the ground.
"Convenient...you left that out..." The male turned his head away, a blank stare cast on his face. And, not only could he be fought over, but he belonged to females? He had equal respect for females and males, so why should one rule over him? Another sigh escaped his mouth. It was just the way of the pride he supposed, and he was not to question it. But, could what Gurami telling him be true? He cast a worried glance back at Gurami, a bleak smile on his face.
"I...I suppose i-it's not all bad..." He forced a smile onto his face, giving a curt nod. He had to think positive, or had she left something else out...? No. Positive.
"It's alright." He finally said with a smile, touching her cheek lightly with his nose.

Gurami's ears flattened tightly against her head, she felt her eyes welling, she knew this would happen! Banda sounded so dissapointed and upset with her. It was the last thing in the world she wanted, to have Banda, her Banda taken away from her. It was simply a part of tradition and she doubted he would be whisked away from her, rreally she was in a tribe that would help her.
She remembered her queens words as she listened to Bandas almost scathing tones. Don't let your heart get attached to the point where you would die for the male. She couldn't help it. She loved Banda. Bowing her soft yellow head she let a tear slip down her maw to land upon the dusty ground.
Those two, ever so simple words made her lift her head, that delighted glimmer returning to her pale eyes. She pressed ehr self close to Banda, giggling happily. "Oh Banda!" She whispers her eyes closing and tears rolling freely down her cheeks. "I promise I will protect you, I don't want to ever let you go."

Banda laid his head on he fur, breathing in her sweet scent. He loved Gurami, he could adjust for her.
"You actually thought I was going to leave?" He grinned wider, nuzzling her cheek again.
"I would never leave you, even if some greedy lioness tore and tried to drag me away by my feet!" His eyes sparkled, a deep, warm purr coming from his throat. He loved Gurami, he really did. Everything about her seemed perfect. Even her cute clumsiness, which gave Banda an excuse for always being so worried about her. Her purple eyes, just like Banda’s! Even this pride she lived in, which he knew would be heaven as long as he was with Gurami.
"I'm sure I like it. It just seems so strange now, because I've never been there." He reassured he with a nod.

Gurami heaved a gentle sigh in to her mated thick mane, she was so glad she had Banda, he was wonderful and she knew it. She just hoped that noone would long for him the way she did. I love you Banda" she whispers in to his mane comfortable cuddled close to her big male.
"I'm sure you'll be fine, I'll keep you safe, I promise." She coos.
"We should rest and I will take you to my pride inthe Morning, you will need to meet my queen. I'm just, I'm so happy you arn't angry Banda." She smiles dancing her paws happily and grooming his face gently. He was her world and though she knew that she shouldn't attach herself so strongly to a male, she couldn't help it.

[[ I think I about finshed it up x3]]
Banda paused for a moment, stunned at the words that left her mouth. He liked Gurami, a lot. A whole lot. Banda paused once again, shocked at the words coming out of his mouth.
"I love you too, Gurami." He leaned forward and touched her nose, almost feeling his eyes water. His past had always been so messy, nothing ever went right. For once, everything fit. Nothing was out of place, nothing was wrong. It was all so perfect.
I would never be angry at you." Banda cooed, nudging Gurami's shoulder with his head.
"Never." He hadn't realized how tired his paws were after making the necklace until now. They ached with the long miles the pair had traveled, and the comforting knowledge of the pride fueled his strive forward, but Gurami was absolutely right. They needed a rest.
"I'll get us some food." Banda said with a grin, nodding as he turned and padded off in the other direction. He was about to start his new life, in a new pride, with his new mate. Absolutely nothing could make his life any better.

Gurami smiled wtahcing as her big mate left to find them something to eat. She felt at peace with herself and everything around her. Finally her life was going right. She would return to the pride with a loving, careing mate, someone whom would help her to expand the pride and bring food to the table, someone to love.
Settling her chin on her paws a yawn rolled over her maw, her lilac eyes closing to the world. Could life get any better? No she didn't think it could...
