In an effort to develop Suto's character before I enter him into rp I'm going to start a rp here. If you would like to have a character that is already submitted be an assistant or a worker in Suto's Lab let me know and I can see what I can do. If you would like to play just your run of the mill NPC lab tech let me know as well <3. Really this is more for character development and it is very possible this story may eventually cross with the main one 8D

Tic tic tic tic. Suto hit the enter key on his keyboard rather roughly and stared at his screen as the results of his currently gathered data were being displayed. He nodded his head approvingly a few times, snickered to himself, and sometimes frowned in detest. All of these expressions were displayed within a matter of minutes, which would leave one to wonder the true sanity level of this man.
Drumming his fingers on his desk a few times, Suto sat back in his chair and stared into the monitor thoughtfully. This state lasted for a few more minutes before he stood to his feet and snapped his fingers to get one of his lab tech’s attention. In seconds a scrawny little man with mousy brown hair trotted over to him, his head held low like a whipped dog.
“Yes, Mr. Adolphus?”
“Fetch me the reptilian patient from quarter block C. I think a few tests are in order.”
“Y…Yes Sir.” The man bowed a bit before he ran off to comply with Suto’s requests. In the mean time Suto prepared himself by gathering up his things and rummaging around on his desk. With a medical bag in hand full of supplies, equipment and the like, Suto leaned over to the cage beside his desk.
“Don’t worry, I won’t be gone long.” Suto poked a finger between the bars as if to entice the bunny to come closer. Instead, the long deceased rabbit just sat there in a pose that it had been permanently mounted in, staring out of the cage with eyeless black sockets. “That’s my girl, I’ll be back soon.” Suto chirped and left to head for the containment room.

Suto made his way through the labyrinth of hallways and down another level. There in front of him stretched a long corridor filled with more hallways and rooms. His destination was close, however, as he took the first hallway on the right and entered the first room to the left. The door made a click as it locked behind him and Suto found himself staring down a teenage boy.
The lad had been strapped to a table that had been set in an almost vertical angle. His black hair was strewn about and the bright lights above reflected off of the blue scales that lined his jaw and ran down his arms. “So, how are we doing today?” Suto smiled in a slightly friendly manner as he set his medical bag down beside the table the boy was strapped to. After a few moments of getting no reply Suto glanced back at the boy. The teen had a stern look on his face, glaring at the doctor before him. His will had yet to be broken. Suto smiled. “Excellent.”
Searching through his bag Suto produced a syringe and took a small sample of blood. It was a procedure he had started from the beginning, always good to see the before and after. Taking off the needle and throwing it away, Suto capped off the syringe and placed it back in his bag. From there he drew out another syringe with a vial looking green liquid within it.
“Today will be the first step in your gene splicing journey, Taka.”
“My name isn’t Taka, you jerk off. Its Anthony!”
A sadistic grin started to worm its way across Suto’s face, “Your name was Anthony, back in the real world.” Suto got close to the boy the light reflecting off his glasses making his eyes impossible to see. “But that place no longer exists to you. Just this one, and here you are named Taka.”
The boy let out a threatening hiss baring his elongated fangs that no doubt held venom in them. He was about to make an attempt to strike at the doctor but there was a pain in his arm that drew his attention away from his task. Suto had rammed the needle into his arm and injected the liquid before pulling away to see the results. In horror the boy watched as the effects started to set in and the skin around the area of the injection site began to turn black and creep up his arm.
Letting out a scream of pain, Taka tried to pull away from his changing arm as the once blue scales grew larger and more prominent. Claws began to extend from his fingertips as the flesh began to twist and distort growing in size. The sound of the bones within his arm started to crack and bulge in places as they too tried to keep up with the transformation.
“What have you done to me?!” Taka demanded. By this time the transformation was creeping up his shoulder and scale like feathers were jutting out of his jaw line and creeping up around the left side of his face. His reptilian left eye took on a more golden color but remained nearly the same.
“Its not every day I test dragon DNA on someone. You should feel honored. Most of the subjects don’t take the transformation well and die from it. I’ve only had on person survive so far but I’m hoping today will make two.”
As the transformation over took exactly half of the boy’s body he began to writhe in pain, thrashing on the table pulling on his restraints. Suto watched in a calm manner, unconcerned that the boy may in fact get free. Successfully the boy managed to pull his left arm free and reached out toward Suto with the intent to rip him to pieces but once he was only inches away his eyes went blank and his arm fell limp and lifeless next to him. His heart had failed. With a sigh, Suto drew out another syringe and took another sample of blood and gathered up his things and headed back to the door. A beep sounded and the door unlocked allowing him to exit.
“Sir?” It was the mousy haired man again.
“Another failure. Throw him in the incinerator.” Suto said calmly before heading back upstairs.

Once back upstairs and at his desk Suto went about compiling more data from the experiment he had just done. Sending the mousy haired technician off with the blood samples to do tests Suto went about making more notes, typing away at his keyboard furiously. The typing only ended as he turned to the side to look at his pet rabbit again, still in the same position he had left it in.
“Today hasn’t gone well, Flopsy,” Suto confided in the rabbit. “Nothing seems to be going right.” Turning in his chair he leaned back fully facing the rabbit now within the cage. Reaching forward he opened the door in the front and withdrew the raggedy creature and cuddled her close stroking her back and exposed spin. “But you understand me don’t you girl? You understand the importance of my work.” A maniacal smile started to twist the corners of his lips in an upward direction. The thought of his ultimate goal always brought a happy thought to mind. Power, strength, long life, but his time was running out. His wasn’t exactly getting younger though his aging process had been slowed.
Frowning at the thought Suto turned back to his computer screen, the rabbit still in tow. He eyed his last entry for a moment before he realized he still needed a vital experiment returned to him. It had been months since Mitsu had escaped; maybe he needed to redouble his efforts to retrieve her?
“Lucas!” Suto called out.
“Yes Sir?” This time a rather large man came up to him. He did not look like a normal lab tech, he barely looked like a normal human. He sported long black talon like claws, jagged ears, and green cat like eyes.
“Go to the surrounding villages and post up notice that I am hiring. I need another mercenary it seems.”
“Yes, Sir.” The man retorted sternly before he turned and left without question.

Kaine had been curled into a ball in front of his blast furnace for a few days. His body was telling him to hibernate. His blood was telling him to sleep for a few years. Ignoring his bodily urges, he sluggishly got to his feet and dressed himself in his uniform. He had sewn leather straps into it to make it look like a straight jacket. "I'm a regular Susie Home-maker heart !" He said to himself. He beamed with pride in the mirror, His cold black eyes suddenly betraying a bit of warmth. He wrapped his black leathery wings about himself like a cloak, and twirled his special scarf around his neck and face with a fluid motion. Kaine despised the cold, and activated a few of the heat runes woven into his scarf as he thought about the ill effects chilly air had on him.
He had brought a bit of a snack with him on the way down towards Suto's lab. It was a bit of meat from the calf of a human, still on the bone. He gnawed on it absently in between dictations to his new assistant, who was trying to avoid the traffic of people, keep pace, and scribble in a note pad at the same time. Some of his assistant's scrawlings were concerned with Kaine's stocks, but most had to do with keeping the facility running. Supplies, business projects, labor, and maintenance were just a few of the topics. And that was just during the span of one small hallway.
It was easy to get lost here, and Kaine was constantly finding himself traversing the same ground he had covered only moments before. Finding Suto was easy, however. Once you learned Flopsy's smell, you could follow it for miles. He handed his assistant the leftover meat and dismissed him once he had entered the room that contained Suto.
He hadn't been sent for in some time. He wondered if he had offended Suto recently, though he felt incapable of doing such a thing. After all, Suto's word was law; it was such a pleasure to serve.
Kaine reached his master's desk shortly after the inhuman Lucas had left. He clicked his heels, then he kneeled. It was instinctive. His body did it without any conscious choice. It made the hair on his neck bristle. "Reporting, sire." The words purred out of his mouth with vigor, as if he lived to say them.

“Ah, Kaine,” Suto mused at the sudden appearance of his financial backer. “It’s always a pleasure.” Placing his deceased rabbit back within the confines of it's cage and latching the door, Suto turned in his chair and faced Kaine fully. A devious smile danced across his lips as it normally did as he focused his attention on the dragon hybrid. “So,” Suto continued contemplating for a moment before standing from his chair. “What brings you to my humble workspace?” Standing at his full height Suto stood only a few inches taller than Kaine but it still gave him a sense of control. Not that Kaine fought him much on the matter. His messy lab coat and crumpled shirt though hardly marked a man of power.
“Are you concerned about your investment?” Suto continued his smile broadening. He knew Kaine was rarely concerned with money, not as long as he got what he wanted in the end. Maybe he was bored and needed something to do? If that turned out to be the case, Suto had a plan in mind.

Kaine would have tittered at Suto's question, had it been asked by anyone else. Instead, his body remained motionless, his face staring at the ground. He couldn't have moved if he wanted to (not that he did), unless Suto allowed him to. The was swift death. He was hell incarnate, but he had a very tight leash.
"I'm here to update you on the current status of the facility." Kaine began. "Everything is in nominal shape, save for one thing. The DNA of the dragon you've been cloning for your experiments is, well...." He broke off to think of the exact phrase the technician had said. "No longer viable for use due to cellular degeneration." He said, slightly tilting his head to the side. He felt good that he remembered it verbatim, but grimaced when remembered what the dragon looked like. It didn't have the intelligence to wipe the drool off of its own chin. It was a jellied husk. "This suggests that another costly expedition into the Bad Lands is needed." He finished with a hiccup. He sighed slightly. He had either been cooped up in his room, or fine-tuning the fixes for the day-to-day worries for the past few days. He fidgeted in his position, trying to convey that he needed something to do... something other than squeezing extra pennies out of an already extremely lucrative business.

As Kaine explained his business in detail, Suto couldn’t help but find his eyes roaming about the lab. He was listening well enough and caught ever word that passed through the dear hybrid’s lips, but his true focus was elsewhere. There was many a problem that needed to be worked through and this had just added to them. Dragons were hard to come by being a dying race. “A trip to the Bad Lands you say?” Suto’s eerie golden eyes finally rested back on Markaine as he gave thought to the…no doubt suggestion on Markaine’s part. He could tell by the way that he was standing that Kaine was itching for something to do, but fetching another reptilian from the Bad Lands wasn’t exactly what he had in mind.
“Before we discuss plans to remedy a current problem might I suggest a possible task to help fix an old one first?” Motioning from Kaine to follow him, Suto walked through the lab laying out the problem he was facing. “For the last two months one of my prime subjects has been lost and despite the effort I have put forth to retrieve her all effort has been for not. I have a few men I have hired out looking for her as we speak, and though they seemed rather reliable in the beginning I am slowly realizing they are not entirely up to the task.” Suto stopped at one of the lab tables, poking around at the vials and test tubes that sat there. “I’m sure you remember the one gentleman rather well, Yuval was his name.” Suto looked up from his work to look at Kaine to see if he indeed remembered him before he continued. “He seems rather capable but I’m not too sure he doesn’t need a little…assistance.” Suto had paused as if trying to find the right word before he had ended his sentence with ‘assistance.’
“So since my work keeps me here and unable to look for my dear Mitsu myself, I was wondering if you would honor me and look for her as well. The sooner she is returned to me the sooner my research on regeneration and slowly the aging process can continue.”

Kaine followed alongside Suto as he talked, drinking in every word. He was happy just to have a task assigned to him, but when he mentioned the name 'Yuval', he perked up a bit. The man's demeanor had always had a strange effect on Kaine, which only made him want to mess with him all the more. He grinned wolfishly, hoping their paths would cross. When Suto had finished, Kaine nodded his assent and bowed. "It is, as always, a pleasure to serve. If you will permit me a few days for preparation and recon before I leave, it would be appreciated. I'd rather-much not run into this without being ready to the fullest." He said in a tone that sounded as if he were asking a great deal from Suto with just this simple request. What have you done to me? He asked inside his head. He was almost afraid to know.

A devilish smile crossed Suto’s lips, but only for a moment. “Of course, Lord Markaine. Take the time that you need but I must ask that you make haste in the matter. I want my little pet back as soon as possible.” Pressing the glasses up onto the bridge of his nose the light reflected off of them just right to prevent his eyes from being visible. Kaine really was a fun toy to play with.
Before Kaine took his leave, Suto brought up one other matter. “Oh and Kaine, please try to refrain from eating anyone important. Remember if they are not to be missed then they were never there.” At that, Suto let Kaine take his leave and went back to his work preparing for his next experiment. His work hardly ever seized.

Kaine allowed himself an unseen smile behind his scarf when Suto made his last comment.
"Your word is law, sir." He said before taking his leave.
When he left the room, Kaine found his assistant standing outside holding the meat he had given him by the end of the bone at arm's length. He leaned over and chomped down on the meat, taking the morsel out of the young man's hand. Fighting to keep from uttering an exclaimation, the assistant clapped a hand over his mouth. Kaine just stood there watching him while chewing on his snack. When the boy recovered, Kaine motioned for him to follow.
"I need you to procure a few items for me. I will need six adult human jaw bones with all of their teeth intact, a sternum from a female giant, two human skulls, and all of the vials of my blood not marked for testing." Kaine said as he weaved his way through the scuttling technicians, moving towards his workshop. "I will also need you to bring me the caretaker that dealt with the missing subject the most, and I also need them by tommorow." He stopped in front of the door to his destination. "If you have any problems, I will be at the Aviary for the next few hours. After that, I'll be here." He motioned using his arm in a sweeping gesture before glaring at his assistant. "Get busy."
Abandoning the young man, Kaine began the journey to the roof where the Aviary and its denizens waited.

Turning to watch Kaine leave, a wry smile tugged at the corners of Suto’s lips. “So the game is finally in play.” He said to no one but himself. Looking about the lab Suto eyed his associates one by one picking out who was the most expendable. “Mathew!”
A short portly man made his way to Suto, his eyes darting about in a nervous manner. He was obviously not a brave man. “Y..yes Sir?”
“Go help Lord Markaine gather up whatever else he needs.” Suto instructed carrying on with his work. He learned early on never to send anyone of use to Markaine, they rarely ever came back and when they did they were missing a few limbs and fairly useless from then on out.
“B..but Sir.” Apparently the man knew what his fate was going to be. “I am in the middle of an important task, would you not prefer to send Seth or Zach?”
“Are you questioning my order?” Suto had stopped what he was doing but did not turn to face the tech. “Because if you are I have a different task in mind for you.” That devilish smile began to worm its way across Suto'’ face again which meant nothing good would come from what he had in mind.
“N..no Sir,” The tech quickly responded. As afraid of Markaine was he was he was a tad more afraid of Suto. He had seen the things this man did on a whim and he could care less if his ‘experimenting’ was on friend or foe.
“Good, then hurry along,” Suto’s voice was almost sing songish as he went back to his work. He would be sure to divvy up the tech’s work once he was gone.
Bowing as low as his middle would allow, the tech took off for the door and searched out Markaine. His movements were slow as he left, the door closing softly behind him.
“Bon appetite,” Suto chirped before he gave a short chuckle.

By the time that Matthew caught up with Kaine, he was standing outside of the Aviary, his hand poised on the door to open it. He paused just before swinging open the metal slab.
"Yes, what do you want?" Kaine said.
He didn't even wait for the man to reply. Kaine pulled his scarf away from his mouth, and spun on his heels to face the rotund man. He gave a grin that flashed all of his jagged teeth. "You came at a wonderful time. I had asked my personal assistant to fetch the attendant that worked with the missing specimen the most. Seeing as how he has so many other things to get and I'm already here at the Aviary, if you brought him to me now that would cut the prep time significantly." Kaine said in quickly in one breath. He clapped his hands twice and made a shooing motion.
The metal slab that served as a door gave a rusty creak as he pushed it open. He walked along the cages that contained all of the birds. They were chirping and squeeking their territorial cries as he passed. He took his time, intent on drinking in all of the bright colors the birds had on their plumage.
Kaine stopped in front of the cages he had come here for. There were at least two dozen black forms contained within. They peered at him with the beady eyes contained in their pitch black silhouettes. The conspiracy of ravens was in the cage to his left, while the murder of crows was to his right. He crooned over them, while he waited for the squat little man to return.

As quickly as he had found Kaine the pudgy lab tech was sent off on yet another mission. “Y….yes sir.” His reply was a little down hearted. This whole running business was a little beyond him, from his build alone it was obvious he was foreign to exercise.
When Kaine disappeared beyond the door the tech took off to track down the attendant for Miss Mitsu. It had been a while since he had conversed with the attendants here and for him that was a blessing. Most of them were rather frightening looking, though the creatures that they often had to deal with required them to be as such.
Nearly ten minutes later the tech found himself outside of the housing area for the attendants. While they weren’t working or busy with a patient they often came here to rest. He wasn’t sure if the one he was looking for was here but it was a good place to start. Slowly opening the door Matthew poked his head in and looked around the dark confines of the hallway beyond it. “Hello?” There was no answer but he could hear movement further down.
Stepping into the hall and closing the door behind himself, Matthew began his journey forward poking his head into each room as he went. Some had inhabitants, none of which he was looking for, while other rooms were empty. “Amir?” He still received no answer but at the end of the hall he finally found who he was looking for in the next to last room. “There you are, Amir, why didn’t you answer me?”
The thin creature like man turned toward Matthew a clicking noise escaping his throat as his bug like eyes reflected what little light came from the hall. “Sssso sssorry. I didn’t hear you.” His voice was raspy and low as he looked Matthew over tilting his head. His face was rather expressionless but his eyes showed curiosity.
A little crept out to say the least, Matthew tried to display a smile though it gave away his emotions easily. “Well, come on then.” He tried to sound stern but failed as his voice cracked and squeaked. “Lord Markaine wishes to speak with you about the girl that was in your charge.”
“I ssssee,” Amir stood from his chair and turned to face Matthew. His form was hunched over but even so he still easily stood nearly seven feet tall. His structure was rather thin and frail but his over all looks were eerie and foreboding. “Lead the way.”
Matthew gave a stiff nod and led the creature back the way he had come. He tried to be as quick about it as possible, not wanting to stay in this things presence any longer than he had to, but his short legs would only carry him so far in one stride. Amir on the other hand had no trouble covering a great deal of distance in one step, which only made Matthew hurry to avoid being too close.
The trip back was much quicker and Matthew gently knocked on the door that Kaine had disappeared into. “Lord Markaine?” He opened the door just a tad. “I’ve brought the attendant, Amir, to see you.”
