The starry stallion raised his head, scanning the horizon for any signs of danger.. When a few seconds of complete silence had passed and he was satisfied, he returned his attention to the snow. A thin coat of ice had formed over the ground bellow, hiding his morning’s breakfast.
Using his ivory-like horn, Suirien began to break up the ice and then his hoof to dig. “All this for a measly meal” He growled under his breath. Though the days had been oddly warmer lately, the snow refused to leave, irking Suirien terribly. And with snow beginning to sprinkle itself over the land, He gave up; unwilling to have his face frost-bitten and stuck in a snow bank any longer.
He looked around, no one to be seen. He shook snow from is coat yet his horn remained frosted at the tip.
Suirien began to head towards a river. It was frozen and slick to the touch.
With slow, carefully placed steps, he began to cross the slippery river. He would run at the slightest sound of breaking ice…Yet in the middle of winter, it seemed highly unlikely.
Movement ahead caught his attention, making him throw his head to the side to see exactly what is was. T’was a little dark mare, but before Suirien could think of anything else, his back legs buckled beneath him, sending him sprawling to the other side of the frozen river.

It was...interesting, strange, shiney, almost. Tilting her head to the side Ryu'Rage looked with silver hues as if to find her reflection in the frozen sheet that coated the moving water beneath its smooth cool surface. Strange, but interesting. As if testing its limits, she placed a hoof on it, pressed down weight, but nothing happened, it seemed sturdy but...she didn't want to test fate, least, not today.

It was strange.

Something though, something different, just like the snow had come, was coming here, but it was not something cold, something blue, almost shimmering on its own. A stallion? Taking a step back the black mare watched with unsure eyes, soul feeling calm today, tired, today was safe.

But who was he?

He was stunned and out of breath; the slip had happened so quickly. Now sore and even colder, he rose to his feet.
"Fun to look at..." He called out, he was blanketed in white, "Definitely not for the faint of heart to cross..." He admitted with a defeated smile. His coat shook violently, beckoning the snow to free itself from his fur.
He didn't quite know this area, so he decided to make friends with the locals...
Nearing her, glanced at where she had stepped on the ice, her hoof print still visible and said "A word to the wise, the ice is thinnest in the deep ends of water...It may look safe, but crossing at another spot would be safest....Like over there" he motioned to where his 'accident' had just happened, it was all still visible in the snow that covered the ice, then embarrassingly added "You shouldn't have a problem if you take your time...". A fish billow the ice caught his attention, he lowered his head to examine it closer "How’d’you suppose they live in such cold temperatures?" He asked in awe, the fish quickly disappeared.
"Where are my manners? My names Suirien, It's nice to meet you..!" He introduced himself with a smile.

He was different...so..what was the word or phrase to suite his stature. She tilted his head at him, stayed silent, he seemed to be so calm and he did not know her, it made the black mare wonder in awe at how others could be so trusting right away, how they were able to socialize so well without any fears or doubts. So strange and different indeed. She craned her neck down to peer at the fish swimming against the current below.

Strange, how can they stay in such waters when they were so freezing.

"I...don't know really..." maybe some kind of power, some magic, or just, they had always lived in such waters?

Raising her view she watched him, took a step to the side so he could stand on the firm frozen earth, and nodded at him with his name, "I am Ryu'Rage, Suirien..."

what was he doing way out here?

“Ryu-Rage…” He repeated aloud, making sure he knew exactly how to pronounce it. “Very unique..” He said with a raised brow and a little smile.
The dark mare had red patterns throughout her coat which caught his eyes “I’m yet to meet a fellow horse with such a unique coat. Were you born with those?” He asked, he had heard stories of strange two legged creatures that could add colors to ones coat, designs even….yet had never seen any proof of it first hand.
His smile disappeared…He held his head high and began to scan for any signs of movement. He whinnies in a low tone, his nostrils flaring; the cold weather made it look like steam from his nostrils….like a mad bull!
Something strange was in the air….He could smell it…danger? His ears swiveled, trying desperately to locate the source of his alarm while trying not to unnerve the mare. It was his protective nature.
“So do you live around here?” He asked in a much quieter voice, his attention still in tune to the unknown danger.

"Unique," or doomed to fate, either way, her name was something indeed. Shaking her head once, as if attempting to shake something from her neck, she watched him with silver hues, something was the matter or... her marks? Her ears flickered backwards, then swiveled forwards, and she looked to the ground, "Yes," she wanted to add unfortunately to it, but she refrained, her mark was such a curse indeed.

What was it about now that caught him off guard?

"Yes, not far from here, the wolves may be awake now though, I barely see them," it was true, her companion was off with the new male now and again moreso all the time.

Yes, her friend was moving on.

He smiled at the mare, forgetting the danger for a few seconds when he smelt that scent again...It was so distinct, yet he couldn't put his hoof on it...What was it? Canine? Noo..Feline? Nope..Not that either..
A heavy growl erupted from bushes ahead, A large bear, no doubt a grizzly, slowly emerged from the treeline; the recent warm winter days had probably stirred the bear awake, confusing the abnormal sunny weather with the spring thaw.
"Dont run...Never show fear...Just respect" He spoke strongly in a stern voice, "Just slowly back away.." He began to do so, his legs bringing him further away one step at a time while staring at the cranky beast ahead.
