Adjo was laying outside, where it was sunny, his head laying on his paws. He certainly wasn't asleep, but he was up to moving just yet, basking in the warmth of the sun, much like his father would do. But there was another reason for him wanting to lay outside. Sitting beside him, nestled in a basket, was a egg, and not just any egg, a NM egg. It was white in color, with other different colors swirling around it. His tongue occasionally flicked against the basket, taking in the babylike scent, memorizing it into his mind.

Even though Vellamo was an adult now, and she was very proud of that fact... she still had some kit like behaviors still persisting. Which was event as the big, glowing nightmare female bounded around the fields, guided only by scent. She was blissfully unaware of the close proximity of another and his egg, simply too busy playing to pay attention. Although the sun was out, the glowing spots along her coat weren't nearly as bright and noticable... it was under the cover of darkness that her dazzling form lit up.
Rolling into the grass, she hissed and played with a strange little metal object. "Key key key..." Yes... Vellamo rather loves the gift that Skeleton Key gave her... one of his very own keys. She took it everywhere with her... like a security blanket or favorite stuffed animal. Clutching it in her fangs, she pranced around again, tongue curling around the object she endeared so greatly.

His head shot up off his paws as soon as his large ears picked up the sound of someone or something moving about heavily on the fields nearby and he stood up quickly and stood his large body over his child/egg. His tongue started working overtime, trying to quickly take in the scent of one nearby and whether or not they were friend or foe. First thing he found out was they were a Nitemare and second they were female. However, that is where it stopped, unable to figure out who it was and whether or not he felt they would be safe to be around.

Another Nightmaren form approached the scene, tongue flicking curiously at the scent-flavors. This was one Adjo knew, if not one he was particularly familiar with, because she had seen him on very few occasions in his life. But she had scented him, and the egg, and grown curious, and now there was yet another Nightmare traipsing nearby. Though not one Adjo knew if she was any judge of the uncertain air she picked up from his scent when she drew near.
"Pleassse do be carrreful. Therrre arrre otherrrsss herrre that would prrreferrr not to be ssstepped on." She approached from a slightly different angle than where Adjo sat, not wanting to startle him too badly if he did not remember her. Also a bit of added insurance for the egg if the other female decided to follow her voice and was uncareful with her feet.

Where was he?
Hale'oki was following her nose, or at least her tongue right now. She made loud but muffled 'qui-qui!' sounds through her mouth, the sound buffered by an egg that she held firmly (but not too firmly) in her bony jaws. Though like her mate's current cargo, it was not just any egg either, and certainly not for eating. This was the second egg from her clutch of two and like any new doting mother, she was highly protective and over-concerned for everything around her. A leaf rolled across her path, and the Nightmare's ears were quick to raise high on her head. She stopped dead in her tracks, flexing the claws of her left paw, loudly growling out a warning to anyone ahead. It took her a whole minute to realize there was nothing there. One quick scan of the area with her psionic abilities confirmed that.
She proceeded onwards.
The territory seemed safe enough, but... where the heck was he? Where was Adjo? She was becoming a little upset now, and lonely. She did another scan of the area, and... bingo! Hale promptly ran ahead, tails wagging now. Once she had his life energies in her senses, she was determined not to let him go. The light blue coloured Nightmare charged on ahead, slowing down once she reached him. She casually placed the egg at her feet, then playfully bumped her head against his hind left leg.
"You know," She grinned. "Once you get moving, you are almost impossible to track down. Though, I suppose the weather outside here is better for hatchling development than that cave found earlier, hm?" She carefully lowered her head, lovingly nuzzling her egg before rolling it towards it's unhatched sister.
"Who else is out there...?" She said suddenly, raising her head again. Now that her mouth was empty and egg-free, she wasted no time in being able to use her forked tongue again. She immediately tasted the scent of others in the air, and bobbed her head, frustrated and uncertain of what might happen. Finally, she released a soft warning growl, and sat beside her mate. If on her own she would be much more wary than this, but with Adjo around, they had far better chances of being able to defend their clutch should things turn sour.

Vellamo seemed to be content in her own little world as she rolled around in the grass once more, tails whipping about while teeth gnawed on her key. Eventually letting go of it to paw it across the ground, only to liftt it with her tongue again. Words and growls seemingly went ignored and she carried on with her play. She paused once and flicked an ear, as if hearing something but then quickly disregarding it. She was like an oversized kit without a care in the world.. and then... why should she have a care? She'd never had any problems with her life and just seemed to enjoy it. She knew few of her own kind... knew few in general. The female Nightmare just seemed to be blissfully unaware of her surroundings despite the warnings of other adults nearby.

Adjo just about whpped around and attacked the one who bumped into his leg, but hearing his mates lovely voice, he calmed down and nuzzled her beak to his own. He listened as she rolled the egg she had with her towards the egg he kept with himself. His ears flicked toward the other who had arrived and he took in the scent, finding it oddly familiar, like he had met this female before. But he pushed that from his mind when he felt his mate get tense next to him and he nudged her in reassurance, that he would let nothing happen to her or their eggs.
The little life inside had felt it had spent just about enough time in this small, cramped and dark space, even though it did feel quite warm. So, with what little strength she had, she started pushing and clawing, screeching to get attention.

Khael's tongue flicked rythymically as she tried to ascertain the situation. The Nightmared in the midst of the field seemed less than concerned with the presense of others, much less her request. "Ssseemsss we arrren't of much not to thisss otherrr." Hale's growl cause Khael to immediately swivel her head back around. A few flicks of the tongue and she realized who this female was. They had met once... briefly. "Ah... the eggsss arrre yourrrsss? How lovely!" Her tails thumped approvingly. She'd liked Hale'oki, for all that she'd not really gotten a chance to know her. "I am Khael... I doubt you two remember much of me. I am happy forrr you." She bobbed her head, though it was a pleased expression rather than an aggressive one. "I hope sssoon... my mate and I might sssharrre sssuch joysss."
