Anywho, I'm starting up a mudskipper tank, and I intend to get some mangrove propagules to help filter the water and be generally pretty. What I was wondering is what kind of bulb will best supply them with the light they need? I've read that they prefer a moderate-intensity daylight lamp, with yellowish light. Will a Hagen
FLORA-GRO bulb work, or is there anything else that would work better?
Update:
My tank is now fully cycled and stocked. My pH 8 with a specific gravity of about 1.008.
Inhabitants:
-2 Periophalmus barbarus mudskippers. (Named Blinky and Fluffy, respectively.)
-3 Black sailfin mollies. (1 male, 2 female.)
-1 extemely neurotic silver scat.
Blinky has become very tame, and has learned to climb up on my hand to eat. Fluffy is still a bit shy.
I have found a store that occasionally carries mangrove seedings. I will be getting two or three in the near future.
UPDATE: I moved the puffers into my freshwater tank, and have replaced them with three sailfin mollies. They have been thriving so far, spawning has occurred and one female is definately pregnant. The other one may be pregnant too.
