Age happens to render a lot.
Well, of course you have the drinking age. 21 years old. Then you have the tobacco smoking age. 18 years old.
And don't even begin to try and get into a nightclub if you're under under that age. It seems that if you want to do anything fun in life you have to wait until you're at least an adult.
Some people just don't like to wait at all... and that's when the trouble begins. Something happens and the wheels of chaos begin t slowly turn, grinding hard against the muddy surface of life until another something happens to help that wheel speed up and release all Hell.
Somethings. Sometimes. Always consequences.

Kim shuffled along the walls, her long black hair was already starting to get messy as the place was hot as hell. She was only 17, underage to be attending this kind of warehouse rave, but tonight she felt like a rebel. She would usher in the new year having an amazing time doing whatever the hell she wanted, the plan was perfect.

She'd found a pair of heels, some nice jeans and a silver sequin top. That was step one. Step two was carefully applied makeup and perfect hair. Step three; confidence.

The three steps had worked perfectly into assuring the doormen that she was 20 years of age, and got her into the club without a hitch. Kim couldn't help but grin at the prospect, but now that she was here, and the place was absolutely packed, she wasn't totally sure as to what her next move should be. Admittedly, coming to this kind of place alone wasn't wise, anything could happen to her and there would be no witnesses. None of her friends had wanted to come with her, but she went anyway. She was going to do whatever she wanted.

Kim squeezed her way up to the bar. She would have to think of a drink, or they would suss her out as a fake. As well as maintaining her cool, she'd have to keep watch over herself. There was nobody else looking for people putting things in her drinks, so she'd have to be doubly careful.

"Hi!" She shouted at the barman. "Can I have a Malibu and coke please?" It was a weak drink, but that was better off when she was by herself. The barman nodded and poured her the drink, she handed over the cash and thought about her next move.

The thundering of music showering Nina from behind was such an intense sensation. The bass had pretty much taken control of her heart beats, causing them to skip to the music in a most thrilling and enticing way that had the twenty-three year old swaying her hips as I.D. after I.D. passed through her soft, pale hands. Yes.. Nina was the Bouncer for this evening. It wasn't the most exciting of jobs, but it did help the crew quite a bit.
Nina had to deal with several bad attitudes. No... she wouldn't call them that. They were much more terrible to be given a rank of such simplicity. Maybe keeping people who didn't belong in the club was actually a very bad idea. Twice already she had been swung at... the first one from a fiery redheaded teenager who had tried to slip between the gap created by Nina and the other doorman. It was fairly obvious that the young woman was drugged up to some high, or had consumed way too much alcohol.
"You alright there, Nina?" Mori asked, a frown placed on his naturally saddened face. He was a tall man in his mid twenties. Single and utterly handsome, but more of a quiet type.
Pushing a strand of bright green from her rosy cheeks, Nina nodded, carefully examining another person before they entered the building, making sure they were of age and of sanity. "Just another night."
Well.. not exactly. It was New Year's Eve.. so of course, it was going to get wild, and occasionally violent. Hopefully sooner than later, if anything. The neon headed woman hated to deal with violence when it trekked further into the evening.

Kim downed her drink and left the glass on a small table that was already piled with various sized glasses and drinks. She looked uncertainly at the miniature city of glasses, tonight was certainly going to be wild.

The only option that she had left was to either a, go into a quiet room and chat with people or b, have a dance. Dancing seemed like a good option, she could talk when she was worn out and her feet were hurting. The only issue next was whether or not she would be able to make it onto the dance floor. Maybe she should take a trip to the toilet...

Getting to the toilet was problematic, but she made it in the end. It was a little place, bit dirty in some parts but tolerable. Kim checked her hair in the mirror. She was an OK looking girl, Olive skin tone and straight black hair in a full fringe and bands that framed her slender jawline. Her features were quite dainty, save for her two large, blue eyes that came from mixed blood. She inspected her appearance, she didn't look too bad.

"Hey." A voice purred from behind her. It was a lady with short blonde curls that bounced with her movements. "Come for some kicks?"
"Oh, no." Kim replied, realising what the lady had meant. "No thanks, just checking my hair." The woman looked unimpressed.
"Alright then." The woman lit up a cigarette and then opened one of the cubicles to tip the ash into a toilet bowl. Kim figured she best make herself scarce.

Nina could feel a headache slowly rising in her already drumming head. It wasn't so much the music.. but more of the fools who were trying their best to untie the yarn of her patience. Mori would occasionally glance at her when a sigh, soft and delicate but with enough meaning to make him frown even more, left her petite girl figure. She began to regret volunteering until the doorman beside her murmured, "why don't you do take a break? I can handle this by myself for a while." Confused, the green-haired woman tilted her head to the side, as if the other had just spoken an inaudible language.
"Are you sure?" She questioned, almost needy to leave, her head easing up on the torture it had been putting her through when the man simply nodded, moving towards the middle of the door.
Without hesitation, Nina slipped in through the side door, heading straight towards the restrooms. From the look of it, people with nothing better to do just pasted their bodies to the wall, hoping for a date.

Kim opened the door to the bathrooms, and in her excitement to get out, she didn't notice the other girl entering and knocked heads with her.
"S..Sorry." She stumbled backwards, slipping slightly on the tiled flooring of the bathroom.
"Should have watched where I was going. Sorry." Kim shuffled slightly, and then took a closer look at the girl she'd just bumped into. Green hair and dark clothing, it was an odd way to dress in such a situation. Maybe it was some new craze? She must be boiling.

Ah, or alternatively she could be a bouncer, which would make much more sense... and would be a great hindrance on Kim's part! The bouncer could figure her out and throw her out of the club right there and then. She would have to be very careful about what she said.

Nina look taken back, rubbing her forehead gingerly. Upon her lips was a frown painted carefully. Her eyes were scrutinizing and her cheeks were flushed a brilliant rose. She wanted to open her mouth and give the girl a piece of her mind.. but the eyes that stared at her were almost hypnotizing. Nina was at an odd loss of words. "Just... watch where you're going next time." Was all she muttered. Amazingly, she stumbled over her words in an attempt to keep her eyes at 'eye level.'
Standing straight, the bouncer flashed her dark hazel eyes from the young girls face to her feet, repeating that cycle once more. "You look young..." Well, of course she did... but it was the youth of a... well, somebody who didn't belong at the Rave. "What's your name?" Nina asked, crossing her arms carefully across her chest.

Kim's eyes widened. Had the bouncer figured her out? No! She couldn't let the mask slip. She was obviously 19 years old, and certainly old enough to be here, honestly definitely.
"Thank you." She chuckled. "Kim." She replied casually. "Though, that has to be the most intimidating way that I've ever been asked it." She put a hand on her hip and laughed casually, despite her nervousness.

She inspected the other girl for a minute. She was frowning, and her brows were furrowed. Kim didn't take this as a good sign. The bouncers pose was very intimidating, to put it mildly, and her blocking the door made Kim want to wet herself with nervousness, but she was managing to keep it together. Maybe she should go to the bathroom? ...No, those mucky old stalls weren't worth the risk.

"What about yourself?" Kim asked, after the short pause. She couldn't let her guard down by letting the bouncer know she was too young, or that she was trying to get away from her, so casual conversation was the best way out of her predicament.

The comment of how Nina had been observing the girl had been brought up... which obviously, she knew was going to happen. The muscle's in her jaw were flexed to the point of stress and her hazel eyes, darkened with years worth of unhappiness and pointless work, did have a a most negative effect in the subtle eyes of society. Subtle? Well, not everybody behaved the same so it didn't apply with most. To calm what had happened previously, and hopefully to bring Kim, the now named young woman woman to comfort, the lime haired bouncer relaxed her pose, readjusting the death grip her pale arms had against her uncomfortably large bust to a simple, hand on curve gesture.. right hand placed firmly at her waist while the other drooped limply, almost begging to be taken.
Nina had never really been asked for her name before. Not even as a bouncer, or even a waitress. True the names were always written so carelessly by the manger in a vibrant blue dry erase pen onto the surface of a shiny, white mini-dry erase board that coincidentally had a small safety-pin glued to its backside, but customers never noticed nor put any desire into writing down whom they give their five dollar tip to. It was always just "that lady who served us."
It was was as common as her being asked out to a date and having an absolutely perfect time. Oh, yes.. how very, very common.
The momentary flip of thoughts bugged her to a point of disdain, so she concentrated, feeling alien by muttering, "Nina." It was the most peculiar sensation to utter that simple word, bringing her immense discomfort.

((Well.. the new year is hear and the eve is over.. yet I have grown interested in this. Would you like to continue and maybe build a role play?))

((Sure, why not. ^^ It ought to be fun. ~))

"Nina?" Kim asked. "I have a cousin called Nina." She smiled. "It's a very nice name." Now that she was basically out of small talk, she had no real clue what to do, maybe she could still go for the toilet? No, that would seem really strange.
She caught a quick glimpse of herself in the mirror, and patted up the back of her hair so that it retained its volume. "It must be hard to work the New Year's Eve shift, especially at a club, I know I'd rather be partying than working." Kim spoke absent mindedly, not realising that she might just be rubbing it in. "Oh, sorry." Her gaze met the floor for a second but then she brought it back up. "What time does your shift end?" She asked pleasantly. They wouldn't need doormen all night, surely.

Kim wondered if her ruse was going well, or if Nina had figured her out already, and was just softening up to catch her off guard. Could she name a drink? Yes, vodka, Malibu, whiskey. Could she name a cocktail? Bamboo, Screwdriver, Manhattan. If she needed anymore she could recite place names, or random words. Knowledge of booze should really be all she needed to get through a 'should you be here?' quiz. As for appearance, her makeup and hair were done to a high enough standard that could be taken for 'mature', maybe she could pass for appearance alone. She could get into an 18 movie, a club shouldn't be much more difficult.

Gingerly, Nina began to take the pad of her thumb and rub it vertically along the back of her visible neck. Her green hair was very short... not to the point of a male cut, but short enough to get her mistaken if given a glance from behind.
Such pointless conversation.. Nina thought as the other spoke of her name and how her cousin also goes by it. Nina... it was a name she actually hated basically because her father had been as selfish as to name her before her mother could wake from the dose of morphine dripping into her ivy bag. It was such an irritating memory.
The motion she had done was a habit whenever she began to think, and at this precise moment, her thoughts had been aroused. Her shift... was pretty much over, as said by Mori; what a wonderful guy. She'd have to give him props next time around. "It's pretty much over." Nina murmured softly, her awkwardly low voice didn't appear to match the skillful flicker of her hazel eyes, or the gentle nibble she preceded on the corner of her rosy mouth. "Why... wanting to go out or something?" She questioned, eyes stroking once... twice over Kim's face. Yes, fairly blunt, but Nina had one of the biggest head aches you could ever imagine. She feared it a tumor more than anything else. After all, every afternoon she would drag her suffering body into her uncomfortably small living room and collapse upon the couch from the immense weight on her nerves.

Kim's face flushed a bright red, but thankfully she was wearing just enough concealer for it to (hopefully) just show through. At 17 years old she had placed some consideration to her sexuality, but her pondering had been left inconclusive. She didn't know if she was capable of a relationship like that with another girl. In front of other girl friends the answer, when the topic ever came up, would be 'Oh NO never! Totally straight', but in consideration you never really know until you try. Right?

"Well, I'm already out." She laughed nervously, scratching at the back of her head. "I guess you must be sick of this place, right?" It was a rhetorical question more than anything, but it felt like the right thing to do, to ask it. "I don't imagine there are any cafes open at 11pm on New Years eve though." She rested a hand on her hip and shifted her weight to one side as she thought. Kim obviously couldn't go wandering the streets alone with the girl she'd just met, nor go back to her place, the bouncer could be an axe murderer for all she knew. She'd also have to keep up the ruse of being 19 somehow, without making anything seem suspicious. The girl would really have to keep her lying wits about her and try to escape whenever she got the chance, though the risk was very exciting!

Nina took a swift glance around the crowded area of the rave. It was already hot and humid from all the bodies, not to mention their intense cycle of movements that seemed to make it even more difficult to breathe, not to mention rather uncomfortable. Each and every one of them looked to be hyped up on Ecstasy or something just as bad. It was hard to imagine why anybody would want to harm themselves like that just for the high.
Returning her gaze back to the youthful looking woman that stood in from to her, the crayon green haired bouncer sighed softly.
"I don't think so... but there's this diner down the street.." What was she doing? Was that defeat in the back of her mind? Nina couldn't believe that she was actually giving into the idea of going somewhere with this girl, who was most obviously hiding something just to keep herself out of trouble. It wasn't right... but something in Nina's mind was rambling continuously about how it wasn't wrong as well.
Maybe it was this New Years dance that was getting to her, or maybe the sudden excitement and curiosity. What ever it might be, Nina was a thankful... if even for a small amount.
"I guess there's no need to linger her any further.." She stated, her expression seemed unamused, but she was indeed quite ready to leave this dreadful place. She loved raving, but she didn't fancy the idea of checking for underage minors' until five in the morning.

"I suppose. I mean, I was planning to stay here until midnight, but I guess we could go... It's pretty dull here anyway." She looked out onto the writhing crowd. Being axe murdered was probably better.

"I'll just go get my coat.." Kim shifted through the crowd towards the cloakroom, now was the escape chance she'd been looking for. She could get out now and be out of the way of the bouncer forever, but then again, once they were out of the club she had no worries, and she could basically do whatever she wanted without consequence.

The cloakroom staff handed her her black denim jacket, and she put it on immediately and quickly made her way for the door. The icy air hit her, sending her hair cascading into her face and knocking her sideways. At this point, she looked towards the diner, she would still have to walk that way to get home, unless she called a taxi. There wasn't enough change in her pocket for the journey home, so she just stood in the street looking anxious. She didn't know if she should just stay there or head for the diner, as it seemed to be her only choice. Walking there alone was probably safer, so she decided she'd wait there another minute, and then start walking.
