Faerie.

Long has the forest been independent from the rest of mankind. A place of solitude, peace, and mysterious magic that resonates within its very heart. A unique magic that has in years evenly spread across the lands seeping into every stone, and every person.

...But something has changed...

...Something else is spreading...

Beings of all shapes and sizes, those with even the tiniest inkling of magic in the veins, is falling ill.

At last the forest has called out, it has sent a plea across the land to all for help. To cure this plague before it destroys magic at its core. It was the Kingdom of Elementals who has heeded that cry. Though diverse in their magical nature, the elementals have come to help, to overlook their differences for the greater good. Even the exiles have come, unable to resist the call.

The Elder Fey of the clans, Finvarden, finds himself suffering from the curse and stepping to Death's Door; he leaves with his only daughter a map leading deep beneath the forest to ancient ruins and possibly the source of this henous curse.
His daughter, though a Fey, is magic-less and free of the blight. Unlike her warrior aid, each of them is a possessor of magics, and therefore suspectible to the curse. Even as they search for a cure, their powers begin to wane and weaken. If a cure is not found soon all of those baring magic in all the lands will fall ill and die.

Would the world ever be able to heal from the loss of all its magic, or will it die with no one to look after it?

Name: Allen Lonnir
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Race: Huamn
Element: Earth; Sub-Fire
Magic Specialty: Combat
Weapons: For someone of such a small frame, Allen makes up for his lack of physical intimidation with a large amount of weapons hidden on his person. Being a desert dweller for most of his life, Allen tends to wear layers to protect his skin, giving him ampel room for weaponry.
Appearance: (After his 'accident')
History: The masses that live in the area around the forest do alwyas dweel in lush, green areas. IN fact, many live in the dry, arid area outside the stretch of the forest's boundries. Allen was one such person. Alone from a young age, he was not in any sense a shy or quiet child. He was active, curious, and most of the time a bit of a trouble maker. His parental figure, a man who went normally by the name Mana, was a performer who often taught his son the tricks of the trade to satisfy his endless curiousity. Sadly, there was an accident when Allen was a young boy, and somthing that he will not talk about. It is the only topic that is taboo to the young man. Mana was killed in the accident, while Allen's entire left arm was severed. Rescued by some friends of his father Allen has survived to this day with their help, and continues to use his skills to make his own living.
Eventually, Allen wished to travel away from his home, but quckly found that people were not as hospitalable as he would have thought, nor smpathetic to the fact that he normally didn't have a left arm. Then there was the slight problem that he could figure out how to get home...
The curse has turned his hair white.

Username: Memory_Owl.
Name: Blume Brookes.
Gender: Female.
Age: 23.
Race: Human.
Element: Earth.
Magic Specialty: Mostly healing. Using the various aromas and botanical items she has, she can summon faeries to do certain tasks. But Blume is only able to call upon them in a time of dire need and sometimes if the faries are busy they will not answer her calling.
Weapons: For any self defense, Blume has created her own bombs. They are harmless and are very much like smoke bombs, a certain amount of a particulair plant can paralyze, poison or knock out for a few minutes. Just enough for her to get away, collect aid or come up with a better plan.
Appearance: Standing at 5'6, she has shoulder-length brown wavy hair that is always kept down loose but she never lets it hide her face. On the back of her head is a glass hair clip, a blue butterfly that is simply there as an accessory. Her long skirt reaches down to her ankles, it's a pleasing light purple hue with a smooth texture. The blouse is a pale orange and on the shoulders is a creamy white reaching to the collarbone. Her eyes are a soothing, deep jade and her skin is barely tanned since she stays out in daylight often to complete her work.
History: A slightly stubborn spirit the woman is shrewd with any misbehaving but is always willing to help her friends. Generations ago one of her ancestors had saved a clan of faeries from a vile drow, so the faeries gave the Brookes the ability to summon them but only if greatly needed. The drow had, with his final breath, sent a beast after any of the Brookes. Thankfully the monster is nocturnal though. Most of her family has been chased away to isolated areas due to their fear of the cursed monster that hunts them if they wander outside at night. So Blume lives as the only Brookes in the village, with three Irish Wolfhounds on a plantation farm on the outskirts of the village. She owns two acres, one acre for flowers and the other acre serves as an orchard for fruit tress and nut trees. From these acres she collects all that is ripe to either eat or sell. Mostly they are placed into a wooden compressing device that must be worked by hand, coaxing oils into a small container to be sorted into a glass bottle. Blume will make medicines or give a healing massage.

Name: Riley
Gender: female
Age: 14
Race: Kitsune
Element: Air
Magic Specialty: Illusions
Weapons: She has a dagger hidden on the inside of her coat as well as throwing knives in a belt on her waist.
Appearance: Riley
History: When Riley was very young, she has been trained to be an assassin. All her life is focused on missions and murder, yet with the illness begining in her right leg, she could not waste any more time on contracts and has begun her own mission looking for a cure. She'd have rather die trying to save herself than ignore the now numbing pain in her leg. When Riley was very young, she was kidnapped by a couple of low-rate assassins who brought her to the place she now calls "home." (One of the two assassins died later that year trying to fulfill a contract. The other lives as a healer at their sanctuary) Riley was guided by her illusion, a little white fox. That is her strongest illusion though it is useless in battle. It has the most advanced speech of all her illusions and it often orders her what to do. Riley fears that the illness will make her favored illusion disappear as it is doing with all her others.

Username: Mairin Rainilt
Name: Eavan Fiachra (even fee-acra)
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Race:
Element: Earth; Sub-Metal
Magic Specialty: Shapeshifting
Weapons: Twin swords framed on her back; twin daggers at the hilts of the swords.

A floppy, casual hat adorns her head, covering most of her hair. Her pants have pockets on the sides. On her forearms, she wears metal gloves “for extra protection.” A red gem hangs around her neck. The stone is to slow down her curse that is a white scar slowly growing up her arm.
History: Known in her village for her caring nature and enthusiasm to help. When she was 13, all of a sudden she closed up. Those she called friends were surprised to all of a sudden be pushed aside and glared at with hatred. The change was account of her mother, father, and older brother had been killed. Those her age didn’t know it, but the village elders knew of the threat to her family. Because they did nothing to stop it, she was angry. She didn’t understand the reasons that the elders didn’t help, but she held a grudge against the whole village.

She spent two more years as the village outcast. She never spoke, though whether it was because of a curse or her choice, it isn’t known. Now she travels, still not speaking. She is searching for the cure of a different curse than the one that is eating away at magic users. This curse has started in her left hand, slowly paralyzing her.

Lydia pounded her pillow into a better shape hoping to drift back to sleep but the incessent calling woke her when she had had only as much sleep as she needed to function. Like a ringing in her ears it called her to come. With a sigh she rose and packed, the sun still asleep and before dawn crested the horizion she was riding on her way to the forest that haunted her dreams and all her waking moment besides.

The wind whisked over a small foxes ears. The ears twitched at the disturbance. Its mouth opened in a soft yawn and it stretched it's body in the morning air. Blinking rapidly, the fox noticed it wasn't yet sunny out. It bowed its head in was seemed to be a sigh.

The furry red fox jumped out of the burrow it had borrowed for the night. After shaking like a dog, the fox held its chest out and closed its eyes. An odd, flowery scent filled the clearing and a light glowed from within the fox, not without.

Then as soon as it all started, the scent dispersed and the light disappeared. Now in the clearing stood a young woman. The different light rolled across her skin, disappearing to reveal clothes.

Eavan walked over to a pool of water to inspect her appearance. She was getting better at shifting herself some clothes. Because she was constantly changing shape it was very difficult to carry clothes as she traveled. She ran a hand through her hair, happy with herself. I mine as well get started, she told her reflection.

Lydia rode into the middle of the village and slid from the saddle in one flid movement. She patted Sunrise's withers knowing the horse would stay since the two of the, had been together for many years. She turned trying to find the exact location of the calling before walking to the house taht seemed to hold the sorce of the summoning. She opened the door and walked in to see a sight girl of no more then 16 but with Faeries it was rather hard to tell.

Eaven turned to leave and her eye noticed the glint of metal in the water. She did a double-take and noticed it was only the swords on her back. Not giving them another thought, she continued on her way.

The young woman's ears worked just as fine in human form as animal form. A sound reached her ears different from the sounds of the forest. She pulled her hair behind her ear to hear better, thinking she might want to consider shifting herself some clips. But it had been so long since she'd seen hair clips. What did they look like again?

Anyhow, she wanted to figure out what that sound was. She easily found that she wasn't near much of a forest. She found the house that's sound had caught her fancy. As silent as the fox she had just shifted out of, Eaven made her way to a window. A small light shown as she shifted into a squirrel before looking into the window. It would seem that there were two females in there, one older, one younger.

Sigh, she thought, Why did the noise of these people draw me? Her cynical side thought. She didn't think of how no animal lived in a house and that should've been a clue that she really had no interest.

Riley walked into the village, a small white fox by her side. "Riley, we must find a cure. Why are you here?" the fox asked. "I need to stock up on provsions. If you ate, you would know I was running low," the young girl snapped. "Don't get mad at me, I'm only here to look cute and do nothing," the fox countered. "You're useless," Riley muttered under her breath. "I heard that!" the fox called over its shoulder as it bounded off in front of her. "Don't run off!" Riley yelled after the fox, trying to walk as fast as she could after it, though because of the illness in her leg, she couldn't go as fast as she wanted to.

Saraleen turned to Lydia and smiled with releif, "You're finally here..."

"Since I don't know you and I don't even know why I have come here, would you care to explain why I'm expected..." Lydia said resting her folded hands over one of her hips.

The Faerie Princess smiled, "I asked the forest to summon warriors that can save this land... There is some illness that preys on magic users... I has already claimed my father's life and now it holds the lives of my family and my people..." She took a step forward and Lydia took a step back not caring if she were being rude. The Faerie girl frowned but continued, "Here is themap my father left for whom ever the forest would summon... It leads to the heart of the forest, we think that is where the blight is comming from..."

Lydia looked at the scroll a moment before tunring to leave.

"The forest say to tell you, Karien would wish it..." the Princess said a far away look on her face as if she was listening to a quiet voice.

Lydia whipped around and glared before snatching the scroll and storming out the door.

A high pitched whine followed by a shrill howl awakens Blume. The woman grunts slightly as she slowly rolls out of her plush bed, standing to stretch in her light blue cotton nightgown. One of her Irish wolfhounds is sitting at her closed bedroom door and turns his head over his broad shoulder to gaze at her with a whimper. Making her bed she sits at her desk and brushes her hair calmly.
"You won't starve, Dice...just give me a minute to get ready."
Dice whines and snuffles at the door but soon lies down. Out of Blume's three large hounds he is the most needy. His white fur is always shimmering in the light to make him look even more pitiful, splotches of black ovals on his rump have given him his name. After brushing her shoulder-length dark brown hair the woman pulls her wavy locks back before dressing. Opening the bedroom door and letting Dice charge into the kitchen she takes out three bowls and gets leftovers from last night's dinner, a hare she had bought in the market. For whatever reason her hounds prefer hare and chicken, but Blume doesn't mind so long as they eat just enough. Dice chomps greedily and peeks over at a black wooden bowl. From the hall can be heard a savage snarl as Night-Marauder walks in stiffly, snapping at his younger brother to keep him from his food. Night-Marauder is the hound everyone fears. If he wants to bite something and gives chase, he never stops until he draws blood from an ankle or calf. The vicious hound is an ebony color with some gray mixed onto his underbelly and chest, he only is kind to Blume since she is practically the mother of the hounds. While giving birth their real mother had rejected them, so Blume would feed them cow's milk and kept them in her room on cold days. Last but not least, dear Buck enters the room. He glances at the woman and wags his tail weakly before eating his meal quietly. Buck is a very loyal hound and he spends most of his time patrolling Blume's two acres, chasing off wandering children who might pick something from the gardens, or following someone on the road. He is very curious but has never barked so he has been known to sneak up on people. It's difficult to see him sometimes as he is the color of a young deer just without the white spots. Eating her own breakfast of cinnamon oatmeal Blume cleans up before petting her hounds. Seeing she still has a time before dawn she decides to remain inside and clean up, fearing her Hunter. The hounds soon bound outside though. Buck begins his dutiful rounds as Night-Marauder paces along the four foot stone wall surrounding Blume's cabin, it lets the dark hound know his limits unless there is danger. Gullible Dice chases Buck around and whimpers, trying to get his brother to play with him in vain. The two acres glimmer softly with dew and healthy plants.

Allen had grown accustomed to sleeping outdoors. The weather was fair, to say the least, and it hadn't rained since his arrival. Allen had only a few meager possessions with him, mong them a ragged blanket he slept under each night.

As of the moment, he was sitting against the side of a building, the blanket spread over his torso. He was sound alseep, that was, until a little white fox ran over his ankles.

"Yeow!" He exclaimed, bolting up right, "What the hell?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 04, 2008 7:41 pm

"I am so sorry!" Riley said to Allen after her fox had run over him. It was sitting a few yards away licking its paw and trying to look innocent. "It is one of my more.....wild illusions," Riley tried to explain, glaring at the little fox. "It is far different from any of my others. It actually has a free will." The fox seemed to roll its eyes. "Riley, Riley, Riley," the fox said, walking up to her. "It isn't that. You just let me go crazy because I'm so adorable," it said, seeming to grin.

The older startled the little shapeshifter out of her little squirrel heart. She jumped back at the sudden movement inside the cabin. Not wanting to look anymore, she scurried away hopping from tree branch to tree branch.

When she was away from the two women, Eaven stopped. She gasped deeply to try to calm her squirrel's heart. It was always hard when she was in animal form. Her body acted like how an animal's would, and it was sometimes very difficult.

As soon as she finally composed herself, a shout from below caused her to jump ten feet in the air. She almost lost her thought of her form, which would've been bad. She didn't know what form she would attain if she didn't shift it herself. Is her human form her default? She didn't really know.

In frightened curiosity, the shapeshifter peered over the edge of the branch to see a boy had made the startling noise. Is everyone just trying to make me have a heart attack today? she angrily thought to herself. Though she never would admit it, she liked to watch people. That's what kept her looking over the branch to see what would conspire.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 04, 2008 8:22 pm

"Oh, it's alright." Allen said, shrugging of the blanket. With surprising quickness he tied the corners to fashion an odd looking cape, "The little guy just took me by surprise. It is adorable." He kneeled down on one knee and peered at it where the fox sat, a few yards away.

"It is a solid illusion? I mean, can I touch it? It's really quite good."

"I am solid enough," the fox muttered, sniffing the air. "It's my best one. All my others are fading away now though because of this damn illness. Can't even run anymore with the illness settling in my leg. I'm Riley, what's your name?" she asked.
