Yes, use the poll. Go ahead, discuss: old Dream Theater, or new Dream Theater? or all of it?

I didn't really dig DT's first CD that much, but I love the rest of their stuff.

Yeah, Dream Theater has changed directions along the years and albums. I personally like When Dream and Day Unite -- their first album. It has a heavy metal somewhat to it.

But my all-time favorite is Awake. Man, I can't get enough of that one. Specially Voices and Lifting Shadows of a Dream. Hmm-hmm!

There is this one album though, I think of it as their worst (or less good wink ) which is Falling Into Infinity. What was up with that one anyways?

But in an all, whether old or new, Dream theater all the way. smile

I havent heard WDADU, I dont know, my dads friend whos more of a fan (well only in the sense that he collects everything) than me recommended the When Dream and Day Reunite live bootleg version of the album...but I dont know. I have to check it out biggrin

I personally love everything....except for Falling Into Infinity. Yeah, most everyone Ive talked to puts that one last on their list.
And Im glad to see that some people Ive invited have joined. It brings the happiness in my heart heart xd

I didn''t like WDADU that much, either. But everything afterward is good in my book. Even FII. I don''t know why people bash it all the time. Sure, it''s less prog and less DT-ish but they''re good songs. As far as favorite album goes, I think mine''s probably Awake too.

I love it all but my favorite album is Scenes from a Memory and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance. But ofcourse All of it was great. Out of there older stuff I liked Images and Words alot but didn't really like Falling into Infinity, it just didn't sound them. It didn't sound different enough not exactly like Dream Theater.

I agree about the FIF thing. I didn't love it at first, but I think it's quite a good album now. It's still DT.

As for a favorite album, you could never ask me to choose. xd I guess it would be a tie between SFAM (since that's what got me into DT in the first place) and Octavarium. I love that album from start to finish. 3nodding

I'm partial to the middle stuff. The last two albums dissapointed me a little bit, but everything from images and words to Six Degrees Rocks. All of it.

All of the Music DT has produced is amazing. I wasnt to keen on Charlie Domonichi's vocals, LaBrie is so much better. I guess my Favorite album is Six Degrees. But like I said, they're all awsome.

Hey by the way thanks for the invite, I have to say "Scenes From A Memory" Was the best album Followed by "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence". But "Octavarium was also pretty good.

My fave DT album is Images & Words, I can't get enough of it. Its followed by Six Degrees..., Train of Thought, and Octavarium. I don't like When Dream and Day Unite, and I'm also not a fan of Awake. *hides from rabid Awake fans* xp

I love all of them. They have such a wide range of variety in them. Most recently though, their darker side of music seemed to suit my style a little more, while the softer side still manages to keep me 'falling into infinity' or so to speak. They are amazing I can't even speak anymore.
