--RP Log-- ((Ara & Kohta)) Zan-chan It was a bright day, a bright cold crisp day and it could be said that the prudent male enjoyed hearing the lesser beings -namely leaves- crunch to their doom under his delicate black silk paws. His intricately marked body rippled under a gust of wind as his red eyes flit around for... her. "Ara-babe, where'd you go?" Manda Said kitsu was currently hiding behind a tree ... having left earlier and determined to prove one way or the other that she was -fine-. It was sweet of Kohta to worry about her, really but .... enough was enough. Zan-chan However, the male of the relationship couldn't stop worrying. She was smaller, she was ...less fuzzy, and above all Kohta couldn't push out of his head that she was weaker too. He wasn't sure how well she could do anything anymore and to top all of that off, he still blamed himself for it. He sat down placidly, sulking, his ears drooping too and then whimpered. It was an unattractive gesture and demeaned him, but still... his Ara... was... and it was... his fault and... well he couldn't live with himself. "Oh Araphel... why ... this ... my fault..." He muttered. Manda Her own ears went back at seeing that and she would have snorted except that it would give away her hiding place. She did start moving though - circling along and using trees and undergrowth as cover so she could get a bit closer ... close enough to pounce. Zan-chan His mumbles turned into inaudible words of self pity and he sunk lower and lower until his head was hidden under his paws, and until his body was curled so even his tails could hide him in his misery. "Ara..." He wailed. She was missing again and this time he was so helpless that he felt his entire masculine attire was worthless. His usually show offy nature and his need to be manly had disappeared after he'd gotten closer to his mate. He had stopped trying to impress her and only meant to protect her with his entire being. It didn't matter if other people saw him lowly... but now... now it did, for if he looked weak... then so perhaps would she and everything would be for naught. Pity and unhappiness swirled around and around, consuming the poor male. Manda Finally, she got close enough and crouched down, quiet still, though she highly doubted at this point that Kohta was going to hear her. Then she sprang forward, running a couple of steps before jumping up and landing on top of the male. She yelled, practically in his ear, "Quit worrying about me!" Zan-chan The quietness of the world suddenly upset him and his great head lifted, just in time to see Araphel running towards him. Unfortunately he wasn't fast enough to move or respond and was pounced by his loving female. His ears rang with the sound of her gorgeous voice and he continued lying on his stomach with her sitting on top of his back. "Ara-babe..." He crooned affectionately, happy to see her and happy to see she was alright. "It's so hard for me to forgive myself for what happened to you Araphel. ...I was worried then and I'm worried now... you keep running off... why can't you just stay by my side babe? Why?" Manda She nipped at that ear then. "Because if I do that, you'll never let me go anywhere on my own." She jumped off, settling herself beside him to nuzzle at his cheek. "I know you really can't help worrying, but you could worry a little less. It's embarrassing." She tilted her head though, smiling. That last was ... sort of a joke. Or meant as one. Zan-chan "Heh..." He took it seriously, his head nuzzling hers affectionately as he licked her own cheek. "I'm your mate, why would you want to be anywhere but with me?" Aha! A sign of life! He, the emo Kohta, had cracked a conceited joke. Manda She wrinkled her nose at that and joked right back. "You smell." Her tone was completely serious, though she was still grinning, watching him. Zan-chan "Oh yea?" Kohta said grinning at her, looking back. His tails wrapped around her and his ears perked slightly. She was all he needed and she was all he wanted. Manda "Yea," she replied, and leaned forward to lick his nose, her own shorter tails flicking just a bit. "I think your nose is dirty if you can't smell yourself," she commented, as if explaining why she did that. Zan-chan He wrinkled said nose and looked at her, as if angry he batted her with a paw. "Aw, whatcha do that for babe? It's not at all dirty..." He chuckled slightly. Manda Ara batted right back, quite a bit harder. Weak, was she? She'd show him. "Is too! So are your ears ..." And with that, she was wriggling closer, and fairly attacking those ears like a mother would do to a kit. Zan-chan "Oi!" He laughed, batting at her, trying to pin her down so she couldn't get at him and try to clean off his apparently smelly ears. Manda Being smaller did have its advantages though, and she slipped out of his grip, taking off between the trees. "Oh no~!" she called back, obviously faking. "A mooooooooonster~!" Zan-chan "Ara!" He laughed and dashed after her, however she WAS smaller and therefore WAS faster and not easy to catch. "I will catch you... haha..." Manda "Suuuuure you will," she called back, ducking under a log that Kohta would probably be too big to get under. He'd have to climb over it or something else. Haha ... Zan-chan Ramming headfirst into the log he tripped and was sprawled on it and half off. With dizzy eyes he waited for focus before he leapt to the tips of his paws and hopped onto the log. A new feeling overwhelmed him and he felt fast. "Oh Ara....." Manda She'd ducked behind yet another tree, waiting for him to get over that log. After he'd run past her, she giggled softly. Then called, "Wrong way!" and ducked back under the log. Yea, she was gonna make him work to get her. Zan-chan But he didn't want to, he wanted his paws on her that second so she could stop running and so he could feel her fur beneath him, and with odd strength he ran on the balls of his feet and jolted after her. "Araaaaaaa!" Manda She laughed louder this time, but slowed down just a bit ... just enough that he could catch her. She was starting to get a little tired anyway. Not as much endurance ... which was annoying, but it was ok. Zan-chan "Heh..." He laughed as the balls of his feet brought him closer and closer and then, he was nearer and then... crouching down as he ran, he pounced. Manda Ara yelped as she got bowled over, tucking herself into a little ball. She was still laughing though - even though Kohta was bigger, he wasn't going to break her doing that. "Ok ... ok ... I guess you caught me." Zan-chan Pinning her down, but being very gentle in doing so, he licked her cheek and flicked his tails back and forth. "Yep!" Manda "Mm ... so what are you going to do with me now?" she asked, pulling her paws up close to her chest and blinking up at him - trying to look innocent. Zan-chan "What would you like me to do babe?" He flashed her a grin and licked her cheek, smiling at how cute she was. Manda "Iiiiiiiiii dunno," she replied, blinking. "You pick~" Zan-chan Leaning close he nuzzled her neck. "My Ara... you haven't even given me choices to pick from..." There was a laugh in his voice as he continued his affectionate gestures. Manda "Oh but I thought you were the manly man ... kitsu ... whatever. Do I really have to give you choices?" Another tilt of her head, this time with a smirk attached. Zan-chan "Yea..." He laughed. Her comment was true but he still wasn't exactly sure what measures he wanted to take upon his beloved. A few popped into his head immediately but... were they honestly appropriate? Manda She chirped at him softly and leaned up to lick the underside of his chin. "Well. We're mates now, yea? So .... let's make a family." The suggestion was made, again, in all seriousness - she just waited to see what his reaction would be. Zan-chan A family. The world stopped, time paused, his heart and body froze. What a lovely option that would be... proof of his lover for her. "Really?" He seemed incredulous, his voice at a low whisper as if he was lost for words. Manda Ara paused, blinking - trying to figure out if he was ... shocked? Or if maybe he didn't want to have kits...? "Yea ... really," she replied, tone having gone careful, expression blanking just a bit. She wanted kits but ... it was ok if he didn't. Or at least, she was trying to convince herself of that. Zan-chan Noticing her change in expression he gave a gentle smile, "Yes... kits, our kits." It became obvious he wanted them too and he wanted them to be theirs. His ears perked back, he seemed slightly tense and excited at the same time. Manda Another beat, and then she beamed up at him and wriggled slightly. "Yea ... exactly," she purred, obviously happy. She hadn't really liked her own siblings all that much growing up ... but her dad's new brood ... they'd all just been so cute. And now ... she wanted her own kits. Zan-chan Leaning his maw closer to her he whispered, "I'll give them to you... they could be ours my love..." It was a soft seductive voice unlike him, but then again, he was in mood. It was time to play. Manda She blinked slightly, but was already shivering at his tone. "Mm ... yes ... " --Skiiiiiiiip over actual mating as this is not PG-13 *bricked*--Zan-chan Kohta still lay with his mate, tired but knowing perhaps she was worse off. Perhaps. His tails curled around the two of them and he nuzzled her.Manda Araphel purred softly at him ... and she was tired, yes, but in a good sort of way. It had been a bit awkward at places but well ... they'd figured it out. "Mm ... thank you," she murmured. Zan-chan "My love..." He murmured in return. Her purring was a sound he loved hearing, now and forevermore. Awkwardness was something he was good at masking, and now, just like this.. he was satisfied. "I'm glad I could make you happy... Ara-babe..." He chuckled at himself for being so sappy.

--RP Log-- ((Raensu, Garen, Endless, Soot, and Atae)) Manda To be honest, he was still sort of ... stunned by the whole thing. He hadn't even imagined that there might be ... well ... children ... from what had happened with Dansha a few months ago. Even though she had -told- him, it still hadn't seemed real until there were eggs ... and now there were kits. One of them was currently attempting to creep up on him, batting at a tail with a paw and then darting away again. Raensu himself ... was just sort of watching in a bemused fashion, unsure what to do with this little thing ... Haisyn Fierra Endless walked quietly, turning his head from time to time to spy on Soot behind him, who was trying to step forward only in Endless' footprints... which resulted in lots of hopping and losing balance and tumbling over. He couldn't help a grin. He gently nudged the little femme kit snoozing on his shoulders back up to a safer position, and wondered if they might happen to see her father today...And just as he finished his thought he spotted Raensu. "Well well... what have we here?" Manda Meanwhile, Garen was convinced that Raensu's tails were his own personal plaything. He crouched down with a little growling noise, ready to pounce again ... when Endless suddenly speaking up startled him. With a squeak, he jumped into the air and then took off to hide behind Daddy ... then proceeded to -climb- on Daddy, trying his best to burrow under Raensu's vest.Raensu yelped in turn and squirmed at that. "H-hey, I don't think you can fit ..." he trailed off, as the kit somehow managed it, though one ear and most of his tails poked out ... making a rather comical image. "Er ... hi, Endless," he said, looking up. "And Soot." At the angle Endless was standing, he had yet to see the little femme riding on the other. Haisyn Fierra Endless turned his head around and nudged Atae until she woke up. "C'mon Atae... there's some here you need to see." He lowered himself to the ground as the little femme stretched and shook herself, and then slowly slid down from Endless' shoulders. She crouched down and peeked over the top of one of Endless' front legs so you could only see from the top of her nose up.You could see she was interested, not that the pricked forward ears gave it away or anything... her uncertaintly turned to startlement however as Soot darted past the both of them to give Raensu a very Sootlike nuzzle-hug. Manda When nothing else really alarming happened, Garen squirmed around until his head and front paws were poking out of that vest, watching. He blinked and stared at Soot, especially when black stuff inexplicably rubbed off on Daddy. Whaaaaaaaaaaat was that thing? Was it really a kitsu at all? Weeeeeeeeird."Eeeh, that tickles!" Raensu yelped, shivering at all the squirming inside his vest. He was quickly distracted by the sight of Atae and Soot though, smiling as Soot nuzzled him. "And who are you...?" he asked the little femme quietly. He knew already, yes, but she seemed a bit shy. Haisyn Fierra Soot was quite as fascinated by the new addition to Raensu's wardrobe as Garen was by Soot. Soot proceeded to try and stand up tall enough to get a good look at Garen by standing on Soot's back legs and propping Soot's front paws against Raensu's shoulder. Soot squeeked curiously and smiled. This one was silly. Endless lifted his paw up so Atae couldn't hide behind it any longer and nudged her forward with it. "Go on, say hello." Atae stood up hesitantly and padded slowly forward. "I'm... Atae," she said softly. "You... you're... Daddy?" She remembered his voice, but she'd never seen him before.Manda Raensu bobbed his head slightly at that and without really thinking leaned down to touch noses with her. "Yea ... I'm Raensu."Problem being that that spilled Garen right out of his vest and dumped him directly on top of Soot. Garen nearly squealed but cut it off to a squeak and tucked himself into a ball, rolling off the black-covered weird thing. And now there was black stuff all over -him-! Haisyn Fierra Atae's eyes widened when Raensu touched her nose, but she wagged her tails gently. She'd almost made her mind up to go cuddle with her father when Garen fell on Soot and Soot tumbled back to almost land on her. She jumped backward, but stepped forward again to check on Soot. "Are you ok?..." Soot righted Sootself and nodded, and then followed Garen over to check on him. Didn't touch him, just stood nearby and squeeked in a concerned tone. Soot hadn't meant to knock Atae's brother down. Endless just sort of chuckled and settled across from Raensu. "So, how have you been? I haven't talked to you for a while."Manda Garen eyed the black stuff on him and kind of puffed his fur out, wondering if it would fall off. Some of it did, but not all. He blinked at Soot's squeak and looked up, ears perked toward the other. Head tilting a bit, he squeaked back, though it was more in imitation than actually trying to talk to him.Raensu eyed the kits, looking a little concerned ... but finally figured they could take care of themselves. And even though Soot was little, he knew that Soot was actually older too. "Well ... ah ..." How to put this? "It's been interesting," he finally said. To say the least. Raensu seemed a little more ... reserved ... than when Endless last saw him, and there was just the shadow of a haunted look in his eyes now and then if one looked carefully. Haisyn Fierra Atae padded over by Soot and looked at Garen, ears somewhere in between the "curious" position and the "intimidated" position. "Hello?..." He looked like her father... was this one of her brothers? Soot tilted Soot's head at Garen. Did he have the squeek problem too? Soot had no idea what the squeek meant, but... Soot drew in front of Garen "Hi, I am Soot." and squeeked again. Endless watched Raensu for a moment, and then put a paw on his friend's shoulder. "If you ever wanna talk about it, you can look me up. You're... one of the few friends I have, it's the least I could do."Manda Garen blinked at the words Soot drew on the ground, not understanding ... as he didn't know how to read yet. Head tilting to the other side, he pawed at them, messing them up without really meaning to. Oops ... ears drooped immediately, and he looked up at Soot apologetically.Raensu smiled slightly, trying not to show how he tensed just a little at that touch. It wasn't anything Endless was -doing- really just ... he wasn't all that keen on touching with anyone but Dansha after what happened. "I know. I'm all right though ... " he replied quietly. Haisyn Fierra Endless dropped his paw too quickly to notice Raensu's small reaction. "Well, just if you're ever not all right I guess. Or if you just want a different place to crash for a while, you can come over to our place." He shrugged. "No offense, man, you just look like you could use a little support... or something." He trailed off and let things stand for the time being.
Soot looked puzzled at Garen until Soot realized that Garen must not know how to read! Soot didn't know how to read before, and Soot was still learning. Endless was starting to teach Atae a little bit, maybe they could teach Garen?
Atae padded over and looked confusedly at the words, pawing gently at the edge of the H. "Soot... is probably trying to tell you that Soot's name is Soot..." She blushed slightly, and her ears went slightly back. "I'm... still trying to... learn the sounds... I can't read the words yet..." Though there was no real reason for her to be embarrased, she was all the same. Manda Raensu offered Endless a bit of a bigger smile and nodded. "Thanks. I might take you up on that sometime." For example ... if this ever happened again. Because now he'd -know- to expect the weird moods and strange craving Dansha might go through before eggs came. Geeez.Garen looked confused for a second, wondering how the drawing in the dirt could mean something like that. But his sister understood it so ... ok, that was fine. He bobbed his head then, smiling, ears flopping a bit as he did so. Then he started kind of pawing at the dirt himself, more doodling than anything. Maybe he was trying to do the same thing, it was hard to tell. But it was clear that he had no idea how to 'write' like Soot had. Haisyn Fierra Endless nodded. "So how's it going with a little one around?" He supposed he'd gotten the better end of the deal, since the egg Raensu and Dansha had entrusted him with had turned out to be a girl. They tended to be less rambunctious... though now that he thought about it, Atae was more quiet and shy than even girl children usually seemed to be. Not that he... had any idea why or what to do.Soot and Atae watched Garen draw in the dirt. Soot ended up writing "Hi" again and squeeking at it, then nosing at Atae to get her to tell Garen what it was. She looked up from the stick-figure kitsu she'd scribbled and squinted at them. "That one... is an H. And that one is an... I?" She looked at Soot and got a nod. "I think it says... hi." Manda "All right, I suppose," he replied, then glanced around as if looking to see if Dansha was lurking somewhere near-by. "Sometimes though ... I wonder if I even know what I'm doing with him. Dansha says not to worry but ..."Oooooh! So certain marks meant things? Ok ... that made sense. With a squeaking sound of his own, Garen bounced just a bit and tried to carefully imitate Soot's drawing. His wasn't nearly so nice-looking though, and he frowned and wiped it out ... starting over again veeeeeeeery carefully. Haisyn Fierra Endless stretched out. It was warm for the time of year, and it was so nice it was almost making him sleepy. "Well... don't give in every time they whine. That just makes them spoiled. But make sure if they really need something before you disregard it. The most important thing is to stay calm around them. They take their cues for how to react to things from you."Soot squeeked in approval of Soot's new pupil, and tried to help Garen see what was wrong until he got it right. Soot was beaming in pride. Soot's first student! Soot couldn't help but bounce in joy. Atae smiled, but backed up slightly from Soot's bouncing. She didn't feel like getting bounced... She ended up backing into Raensu and turned to look at her father. He seemed so... big from here. Manda Raensu nodded, appearing to actually be listening. "Yea ... that makes sense," he said. Then he glanced up at the angle of the sun. "I think we should be going now though. Have to get him back home before it gets really dark, you know." Then he blinked as Atae bumped into him. "Careful there," he said, smiling at her and then turning to collect Garen.Garen tilted his head and tried again ... lines coming out straighter this time. He grinned, ears sticking straight up as his little chest puffed out in pride at getting it mostly right. But now ... it seemed to be time to go. And as he didn't know how to draw goodbye, he settled for stepping over to Soot and bumping into him a bit before turning and doing the same to his sister and then following Raensu off. Haisyn Fierra Endless flopped down where Atae could climb back on. Soot joined her this time. "Until next time then, my friend. I hope things go well for you until then." It was indeed getting dark, so Endless set out to take the two kits home. It had been a nice visit, if a brief one.

--RP Log-- ((We're having eggs!)) Manda Araphel was sort of wondering where Kohta had gone off to. She hadn't seen her mate in a little while - and it wasn't really like him to be gone for so long. At first she'd thought maybe he was just hunting or something ... but she was starting to get a little bit worried. And aside from that ... she had something important to tell him. With a little secret smile, she went to look for him ... Teh Zan It had taken a long time, seemingly far longer then he had originally wished. He meant to get away for a while and sort out his thoughts, but after a few mild events he was now laying beneath a tree somewhere. Of course, he didn't know where this somewhere was and he was most certainly positive that Araphel was worried. He'd tried to get up from the spot, but his bag leg was snagged on a tree root and he just couldn't remove himself. However, his need to be 'manly' wouldn't allow him to cry for help in any demeaning or degrading matter. So here he would sit until found. What a stupid adult. Manda It didn't help that it had rained a little today so it was kind of hard to smell where her mate had gone. But Araphel was trying her best, nose low to the ground, thinking idly that this form was good for this sort of thing ... as she didn't have to bend over as far. She really was starting to get worried now, as the trail led off into the woods ... and it was getting steadily darker. She started to call out for him once she was under the trees, looking around. "Kooohta! Are you in here? Kohtaaaaaa?" Teh Zan "Araphel?" Her voice sounded like a sweet symphony to his deprived ears. "Ara-babe! Good of you to drop by..." The sarcasm wasn't eluded and his mood was a bit soured by being wet, tangled and lost. Thank goodness help had arrived! And help in the form of someone he loved dearly. Not only had she probably been worried, but Kohta couldn't help freaking out about something trying to step on her the whole while he was gone. Manda She winced just slightly at those words, quickly running over to where he was. "What happened to you?" she asked, eyeing him. "I was getting worried ..." Teh Zan "I got a little caught up..." He said meekly, bowing his head, but not hiding the pure happiness in his voice of seeing her. "Forgive me for worrying you, love... I didn't mean to." Manda She stepped forward then and nuzzled at his cheek, eyes lidding. "It's ok ... maybe I can help you out?" With those last words she stepped back a little again, looking at the tree root and his leg. "How in the world did you get caught like that?" Teh Zan His head lifted very slightly, nuzzling her back and licking that very cheek. He smiled gratefully at her, "Help would be very nice... it's starting to sting a bit." He paused at the question. "Uhm... it's a long story, I'll tell you another day." Really he was avoiding telling his very UN-manly story about how he fell out of the tree because he saw a freaky bird and in an attempt to bolt had got caught in the roots. Manda Araphel raised a brow slightly ... sort of suspecting this story was going to be interesting. But she nodded with a little smile and went around to have a better look. "Hmm ... let's see here ... " she murmured. Then she hooked one of her own smaller paws under the root and started trying to work it off with that paw and her teeth. Teh Zan Tugging slightly at his leg, he tried to help her, but his spirit was not the only thing damp. All this lying around hungry had stolen his strength too. Manda Araphel glanced up, and moved her paw to put it on his fur for a moment. "Stay still," she said around her mouthful of root. "Almost got it." And then with a hard twist of her head while holding down another part of the thing with that paw, said root finally slipped off. She dropped it and spat out some sap that had gotten into her mouth. "There!" Teh Zan Flinging himself forward and rolling into the far tree, he turned swiftly and tackled her as lightly as he could. "Ara!" He was definately much happier now. Manda She squeaked at that, bowled over by his tackling. Where had all the energy to do that suddenly come from?! "H-hey!" she half-protested, laughing. "You're gonna squish meeee~" Joking, of course. Teh Zan "Oh..." He quickly backed off, but not too far. He was still close enough to nuzzle her and put a paw on her back protectively. "I'm just so happy to see you... I've missed you." Manda Ara nosed him at that, and snuggled up against him quickly. "I was kidding," she pointed out. "And I missed you too." Turning, she glared and stuck her tongue out at the tree and roots. Stupid tree, trying to steal her mate ... Teh Zan They seemed so much like children; like playful newfound lovers, but it mattered not for their love was deep and precious. "I didn't worry you much, did I?" He said fondly to her, licking the top of her head. Manda Ara purred at that, leaning up into his licking. "Not toooo terribly much. I found you anyway," she chirped, bounding away for a moment to tackle him in turn. "Aaand. I have something to tell you. But! You have to catch me first!" And with that, she ran off - heading in the general direction of home ... but not quite straight there. Teh Zan Giving in a bit to her small tackle, he watched her, eyes sparkling. Something to tell him? He was curious, wondering what it could possibly be. Jolting after her, he tried to catch up, but her head start was keeping her just slightly ahead. Manda After a few minutes, she realized she was actually -faster- than he was for the moment and wondered if maybe he was hurt. Worried, she slowed a little and headed for home in truth. She didn't really stop until she got there, though, wanting to tell him -here- and not out in the woods someplace. Teh Zan Her supsicions would be correct though. He was slightly sore from having his back foot caught and could not honestly catch her this time, so he'd simply have to chase her to the end. Manda Once there, Ara stopped, not even really breathing hard (still in shape!) and waiting outside for him to catch up. Watching him come a little worriedly, she noticed he was limping just a bit. Oooops. Well, now she felt dumb. Teh Zan As soon as she stopped, he slowed down and stopped in front of her, easing forward slightly to take the pain from sharpening in his back foot. "So? What is it you wanted to tell me?" He smiled at her, not really caring about his own pain too much. Manda Instead of answering right away, she padded around and licked gently at his leg. "I'm sorry ... I shouldn't have made you run after me," she murmured. "Wasn't thinking ..." Teh Zan "No... it's fine... really..." He said softly in reply. His ears flicked back and his tails licked at the bottom of his legs. "I'll be fine." Manda Leaning on him just a bit, she sighed and nodded. "I know ... I just ... " and trailed off. Not the time to start blaming herself for things, much as she might want to. "Come inside ... then I'll tell you the news." Teh Zan He looked at her with a sideways glance and gave a half smile. "All right..." He was a bit nervous about this 'news' of hers, but all the same he'd follow her lead. Manda With a smile that was meant to be reassuring, she padded inside and waited for him to come in as well before going over to their little nest in one corner, curling up and inviting him to join her with a little raise of one brow before she got started. Teh Zan Padding after her lightly, he followed and curled up around her small body. She seemed so small these days and it was all he could do to keep from blaming himself. Manda Turning around so she could face him, Ara snuggled in a bit closer and leaned up to lick his face. "Kohta ... you're going to be a father," she said quietly, a soft sort of smile on her face. Teh Zan There was a moment of silence, of pausing, when he didn't move. Shock overlapsed him. What had she said? Surely she was joking. This was a joke. Yes of course, a joke. But no... the look on her face. What if she got hurt because of this? Worry freckled his face, and he couldn't find a response. Manda After a long moment or two, Araphel tilted her head, smile faltering just slightly. "What's wrong ..?" she asked. Was he not ... happy about this? She, herself, had wanted kits ever since her sister's first litter ... but she hadn't really said anything. She had thought ... it was her fault, somehow ... because of being ... like this now. And even before ... nothing. But now ... Teh Zan His slicked back ears pricked forward just a tad, and he looked down, away from her for a moment. "I don't know... what to say Ara... I'm more worried about how you'll handle it... if you'll even be able to... gods if anything happens to you I don't know what I'll do..." His words were soft and heartfelt. Manda Ooh ... oh yea that made sense. Ducking her head a little, she lifted it again and bumped his chin with her forehead. "Hey ... don't worry so much," she murmured. "I'll be ok. I'm stronger than you think, love." Teh Zan "What if you're not? Did you think of it that way?!" His voice got an octave too high, and worry was filled in it. His red eyes glared at her. He really didn't think she understood that loosing her would turn his life into something he didn't want it to be. Manda She winced a little at his volume and shifted to get up, and whack him with one paw - pretty hard. "Kohta ... really. I'll be fine." Her eyes got a little bit of a faraway look and she murmured, "Besides ... there's probably a good chance that at least one or two will be ... smaller. Like me." She'd heard that her brother also had kits now, and two of them were bobtails. Teh Zan He took the blow, and cowered against the wall. Not because he was afraid, but because he didn't want to touch her. He didn't want to feel her there. "Ara... it's my fault you're like this... if you're tiny now, how much smaller could our kits be? Do you know how dangerous that is? And..." Before he could continue, he seemed to jolt a bit and look up at her with shock. "Wait... one or two? How many kits are we having?" Manda At that, she looked just faintly embarassed ... and she just -knew- his reaction to this was likely to be bad. But she wasn't going to lie, or evade the question. "Ah ... four ... actually," she said softly, watching him carefully. Teh Zan "Four..." He repeated in a disbelieving voice. "I can't believe this is happening..." He moaned a little and buried his head in his front paws, thoroughly upset with the whole thing. Manda Another little wince at that ... and she had the random thought that she was -never- going to get him to erm. Yea. Never again ... juuust great. "Kohta ... I ..." And she trailed off, not knowing what else to say. She knew that he was upset because he was worried, but she'd thought maybe he might be a little bit happy ... Teh Zan "Ara." He looked up at her, shaking his head a little. What could he say? He should've been thrilled, shouldn't he have? She'd been so excited... but he was so terrified. Why couldn't he trust her? Maybe it was himself he couldn't trust. He needed to try. He got up and nuzzled her very lightly, hoping for forgiveness, "Look... I love you... I'm just worried... please understand." Manda With a soft sigh, she leaned into him again, eyes lidding. "I know that. I know you're worried and that you love me. I love you too." A slight pause, and she turned her head to like his cheek. "It's ok ... " Teh Zan "I'll love all of them as much as I love you... I promise... but you have to promise me you'll be okay..." He said placing a paw on her protectively and nuzzling her gently. Manda She purred softly and nuzzled into him. "I know that you will. And I promise, I'll be fine." With a little smile, she asked, "Do I have to hit you again to prove that I'm still strong? Or bite you maybe?" Teh Zan "No," he replied with a laugh as he attempted to push her down. "Here, come here, let me keep you warm against me Ara-babe, I won't have you to myself much longer." He smirked a little. Manda She grinned at that and half-pounced him, still purring - louder now. "No arguments here," she chirped happily, snuggling in close. Teh Zan Settling down a little, he curled up with his tails encasing her against him. He licked the top of her head gently and purred very slightly himself, not being one for it normally.

--RP Log-- ((Ethuil meeting up with Kalani)) Manda Ethuil was, once again, wandering about alone. Her mother was really ... very scatterbrained and though she did try, the butterfly kitsu just ... still wasn't really used to having to watch over smaller things that had hatched from the round things. Sometimes she remembered her daughter was her responsibility, but most of the time she didn't ... getting distracted by any number of things.
Which left Ethuil more or less to her own devices. Padding out of the headquarters, she looked around, then spotted a clump of flowers a little ways off. Grinning, she bounded over - glad that her legs were longer now. She was getting bigger and that meant she could explore more!
Jumping right into the middle of the flowers, she pounced here and there, pretty much crushing them, but having fun all the same. Tsu-chan It was rather odd to be traveling alone, without the presence of a certain starry male Kitsu nearby; of course, Kalani hadn't really chosen for this to happen, either. As it was, having tagged along with the adult normal, the bobtail teen had become separated from him, much in a way like how Sunday would go 'missing' when dragged along with Tuuli, only, well, Sunday did it purposely, to ditch the overly-enthusiastic perma-kit.
And if Monday was attempting to hint at something by this, it would have been obvious by now, Kalani hoped, unless he was attempting to test how well she could do on her own, anyways. Oh well; she'd survive, right? The bobtail hadn't reached Sunday's level of paranoia so far into life, as she spent her time with either Monday or Shreya, after all.
Making her way further along the Mountain, Kalani attempted to console herself with the fact that, at the very least, Tuuli had better things to do at the moment, which would mean there'd be no surprise encounters of the overly imaginative at this time.Manda Eventually, Ethuil started to get bored of the flowers and padded out, shaking pollen off her fur and letting out a little sneeze when some went up her nose. Shaking her head, she started off in a different direction, searching for something else to do.
Ooh ... hey lookit, another kitsu! And it was one of the ones with short tails too ... like Araphel. Bounding over toward the other, she called out, "Helloooo~!" Tsu-chan She was momentarily caught off guard by Ethuil's greeting, having become slightly absorbed in her thoughts to pay attention to the existence of other creatures such as herself. However, Kalani stood her ground, willing herself not to jump and back away, though she did rather wish Monday was around, at least for the sake of being able to hide behind him.
"Hi," the bobtail greeted cautiously in reply, "Who are you?" Manda Ethuil didn't even really notice the other's nervous manner - being a bit like her mother in some ways, after all. She did skid to a halt though, just before crashing into the bobtail, and nodded her head a bit. "I'm Ethuil," she said cheerfully. "Who're you-you?"
Her own tails waved about behind her excitedly, the prospect of a new friend far more interesting than flowers were. Tsu-chan "Kalani," the bobtail replied, relaxing a tiny bit (though still on guard; Tuuli could do that to a Kitsu if they lived with her long enough), "It's...it's nice to meet you, Ethuil," she said, nodding.
"Um..."
The bobtail paused, trying to start a conversation without an idea as to what to talk about, before trying again. "Um...so, um...where do you come from?" she asked. Manda Ethuil blinked slightly, then waved her tails back in the direction of the Headquarters. "Up there ... my mom lives there. When she's not wandering off someplace..." She didn't sound particularly upset about that, though. It was just ... the way her mom was. Somehow, she knew it wasn't really Zhaima's fault that she was so scatterbrained.
"How about you?" she asked then, sitting down. "D'you live around heres?" Tsu-chan "You live near the cabin, then? Or at the cabin?" Kalani inquired, attempting to get her facts straight, at the question as to her own living situation, the bobtail frowned, attempting to remember which direction it was in.
"It's, um..." she began, looking around for a familiar landmark, "It's..."
The bobtail shrugged, looking a bit confused, "Um...well, Monday would know, since I was traveling with him, but I kinda lost track of him," she admitted. Manda Wow ... she didn't even know for sure where she lived...? Well, maybe Ethuil should help her find this other kitsu then! First though ... "Close to it ... Mom likes to stay outside when it's warm. But we go inside there if it's cold or raining or something."
"Uhmm ... isn't Monday like a day of the week?" she asked then, finding the name a little odd. "But! I could help you find him, if you want," she offered then, not wanting to seem rude or anything. Tsu-chan Well, not really, no. Sunday didn't, either, at first, and Morie, more than likely couldn't find her way out of a paper bag at the current moment, seeing as she had yet to explore any further than the front yard. Kalani, at the least, could explain that her home was in whatever was the opposite direction she had traveled in, provided she hadn't lost her way, but other than that, well, the bobtail was a lost cause.
It seemed that Tuuli was good for one thing, after all, and that was her navigation skills; it was a wonder that the perma-kit managed to find her way back home each and every time she went off exploring.
"I, um...I guess so," Kalani said, nodding, "There's someone named Sunday that lives with us, too, though Tuuli always calls her 'Sunny' or 'Sunny D'."
She hesitated, not really certain if it was okay to burden another with her own inability to keep track of the others, before relenting. "Um...okay," she said, "That'd be nice." Manda Ethuil tilted her head a little at that, wondering if Kalani was related to any of these others she was talking about. She knew that she had siblings of her own, though she didn't really see them all that often - as they lived with other older kitsus. Friends of her mother, she thought ... or something like that.
"Ok! Maybe we can get my Mom to help too, if we run into her ... she's got wingies, so it would be easy to look for people from up above~" Really, she didn't mind at all helping out ... as she had nothing better to do, and it sounded like fun, anyways. Tsu-chan If Kalani was related to anyone that lived with her, Tuuli would be a close guess, coloring-wise. Personality-wise, she was like Sunday with her borderline paranoia in some cases, and, well, in all other cases, she did tag along with Monday like a younger sibling.
As it was, though, the bobtail didn't really know as to her relation to anyone, just that, despite her size, Tuuli ruled the house to most extents, and could make a grown kitsu afraid of her.
"Oh, um...okay," she said, "That sounds like a good plan." Manda Grinning, Ethuil padded forward then, looking around to see if anyone else was nearby. "What does Monday look like...?" she asked, glancing back toward the bobtail. "Does he have shorter tails like yourses?" Tsu-chan "No, um...actually," Kalani said, "He's bigger than me. And he's blue. And starry. And has little planet...orb...things that circle his tails and...um..."
"He's just really starry and blue. And bigger." Manda "Ooh ... well, he shouldn't be that hard to find," Ethuil said, blinking a little. After all, that was fairly distinctive. Kinda like Araphel's Dad ... he was one of those who wore clothes - and the clothes he wore were really cool ... in her opinion.
"Where'd you see him last..? Up near the cabin or something?" Tsu-chan "Uh-huh. Not too hard to find, I hope," she repeated, thinking as to how, as a general principal, the other members of her family were easily recognizable either due to their coloring or their spontaneous nature.
"Um...I think," Kalani said, "I'm not sure. There might have been a fork in the road, or, um...something. We were on our way to the cabin, though, so maybe he went on ahead?" Manda "Weeeeell, we can start there, then," Ethuil decided, smiling and padding on ahead - leading the way. She'd explored enough that she at least knew the area closer to the cabin well enough to find her way back.
And she was having fun helping too, since it was always more fun together than alone. As they walked, she took little side trips to investigate things, sticking her nose into more clumps of flowers and bounding after crickets and other small bugs.

--RP Log-- ((Cyr and Ali - Playing With Swords is Dangerous, Kids)) Manda Cyr'uhan made a little scoffing noise as he fairly stomped along down the street. No one had been paying attention to him back at the HQ building. And that stupid female had made fun of him again ... he was really starting to hate her. Needed to think of something to do to ... to get her back for everything she'd said. He could be evil, he really could be. If he could just figure out how. The Nobody made a soft growling sound, kicking out at the sidewalk with one booted foot, hard. +Sephiros Immortal+ Aligheri was leaning up against one of the buildings, glancing up at the portions of sky that could be seen between the buildings. He wasn't sure what diverted his attention, but he heard a noise, and his green eyes snapped to the other...wondering just what he was about. "Taking your irritation out on the concrete is hardly mature." He commented, not sure who this one was, but not finding him too terribly entertaining...mildly amusing, perhaps. Manda Cyr's head snapped up at that, hood falling back to reveal shocking blond hair, cropped short, and angry blue eyes. "Who the hell asked you," he snarled. Who was this guy anyway? Looked like some kind of p***y with his fancy coat and slicked-back hair... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smiled faintly, "No one...except perhaps myself...if I take a personal interest, then I can make whatever comment I like, isn't that so? The gloriousness of free speech and all..." Tilting his head, he watched the other, wondering what he would do. Manda "Doesn't mean you have to say it out loud," Cyr snapped back at the other, glaring now, shoulders hunched in just slightly. "Cause y'know that might bother other people. Like me. So just keep your damn mouth shut on your 'free speech'." +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali shrugged, "I never pegged you for the sensitive type...but apparently you're way too touchy." Straightening, he took a step towards the blond, a silent challenge in green eyes. "So...have I hurt your feelings? Or is that bother bit a threat?" Manda Cyr didn't back down, though eyes widened just slightly as the other moved toward him. "Yea ... you did hurt my feelings. But you're right, maybe I should kick something other than the sidewalk." And with that, he smirked and lauched himself at the other with a sort of wild yell, foot out to try and kick Ali. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smirked in return, twisting and deflecting the blow with a hand whilst aiming a kick of his own at the other's midsection. He was a silent fighter, though he could be talkative enough when given the chance...combat was another thing entirely...and this could prove to be interesting...very interesting indeed. Manda Eyes widened at that, and surprised, Cyr didn't even have a chance to block - getting sent flying halfway across the street to land and slide a foot or two along the pavement on his back. Ow, dammit. With a sound not unlike a snarl, he picked himself up and glared at the other again, fists clenched. Little sparks crackled around said fists for a moment and then he flung a hand toward the other, a kunai seeming to appear from nowhere - lightning dancing along the edge of it. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali laughed, dancing away even as it sizzled by him, causing strands of hair to fly free. All right, so this one wasn't as ill-equipped as he appeared. Unsheathing his katana, the silver-haired young man darted in, that competitive sort of gleam in his eye. This wasn't like sparring with his father or uncle...this was unpredictable and so much better. Manda Cyr grinned at his near-success and summoned up another kunai - keeping this one in his hand to attempt to block that katana when Ali moved in close. Problem being ... that even though he wasn't really a weakling, the Nobody wasn't much of a match for someone who was part-demon. And so he was forced to fall back when the katana got too close for comfort, tip of the blade slicing through coat and arm as he backed up. ******** ... that really did sort of hurt... +Sephiros Immortal+ He slid the length of his katana along that kunai, and his eyes seemed to gleam, more than pleased about this little encounter. Spinning on a heel, he thrust the blade with little forewarning towards the other's midsection, a blow that could do serious damage if it managed to connect...Cyr had better dodge and quick...and if he failed, well...he was in trouble. Manda As it turned out, though, Cyr was really very bad at close-in fighting ... and he didn't move remotely fast enough. His body jerked as that sword slid into it, eyes going wide, the young Nobody making a startled, choking noise. And then came the wave of pain, and he let out a soft cry, hands going to the blade - just fighting now not to pass out... +Sephiros Immortal+ Well s**t. Ali really hadn't meant to do that...and he slid the blade out, letting it clatter to the pavement as he moved to catch the other. He'd rather expected the blond to have marginally better reflexes...and in Ali's defense, his usual sparring partners would have easily parried such a strike. "Ah ********..." He muttered, instantly feeling more than a little guilty about this...and really hoping that this wouldn't endanger the other's life. Manda Thankfully, Nobodies weren't that easily killed off... but it did hurt a hell of a lot right now. And Cyr blinked up at the other, already feeling like everything was sort of ... distant. Oh, distance was good ... no more pain that way ... and within seconds, the blond was out - going limp in the other's arms. +Sephiros Immortal+ Kneeling, Ali picked up his katana and sheathed it, and then scooped his fallen opponent up in his arms. Well...he really had no choice but to bring Cyr home...of course, if he took the blond to his room, then probably his father and uncle wouldn't notice. Hopefully. Probably. Better move quickly then...heading towards home, he glanced down at the male in his arms. "Just don't die on me, kay? I really wouldn't know how to explain that." Manda Cyr's only real response to that was to shift slightly in the other's arms, with a soft little pained noise. For as much as he blustered and acted badass and 'evil' ... he'd never really been hurt before, not like this. And his body and mind really had no idea how to deal with it... +Sephiros Immortal+ Biting his lip, he headed towards home at a swift clip, getting there and proceeding to sneak inside, noting that neither uncle nor father seemed to be downstairs. Luckily. Heading up the stairs and down the hall, he brought the other to his own room...setting him down on the bed and proceeding to unzip that coat. He'd need to clean and bind the wound...he knew that much. Ducking into the bathroom for bandages, he came out and proceeded to do just that...still rather worried about the other. Yes...he really did feel guilty about this whole affair...he'd sort of provoked the other after all. Manda Cyr didn't truly wake up through that process, though he flinched away whenever sensitive areas were touched and made quiet sounds of pain now and then. For the moment ... mind had escaped the pain and it intended to stay away for a while, probably. +Sephiros Immortal+ When finally he was satisfied, Ali situated the other a bit more comfortably in his bed...before scooting off of it to go sit in the chair next to it. He would stay here...keep an eye on him...just in case something happened, though he was praying that the other wouldn't get worse...if he did...then Ali would probably have no choice but to go to his father or uncle. Manda It took a good hour or two for the Nobody's mind to decide that it might be safe to wake up now. And then he stirred just slightly - making a soft sound before eyes fluttered open. Where...? +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali had just begun to doze...but he sensed that movement, eyes snapping open as he leaned up to look at his 'patient'. "Hey...you're awake..." He smiled faintly, just glad...that the other wasn't hurt any worse than well...yeah...about that. "How do you feel?" Manda Cyr considered that for a moment or two, wincing as he tried to lift his head up ... attempting to look down at his stomach. Ouch... "Like s**t," he finally muttered, falling back and letting eyes lid again. "Did you ... have ... to actually stab me?" +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali bit his lip, glancing down at his hands. "I honestly thought you would parry that." He confessed softly, "Believe me, I was nearly as surprised as you were when that happened." He put a hand on the other's shoulder, "You're going to have to rest for a while...and let that wound heal." Manda Oh suuuuure... parry it. Cyr made a little snorting sound, but didn't move away from that touch. At least Ali hadn't left him out on the street to bleed to death. "I'm Cyr'uhan," he said then, almost reluctantly ... since it looked like he'd be staying here a while. +Sephiros Immortal+ He smiled at that, a faint, but friendly expression. "I'm Aligheri...and this is where my dad and uncle live...but you're in my room at the moment." He offered, tilting head to one side. "Why exactly did you fight me...anyway?" Yes, Ali had baited him...just a He smiled at that, a faint, but friendly expression. "I'm Aligheri...and this is where my dad and uncle live...but you're in my room at the moment." He offered, tilting head to one side. "Why exactly did you fight me...anyway?" Yes, Ali had baited him...just a [i]little[i/]...but it had been Cyr who started the fight.[i]little[i/]...but it had been Cyr who started the fight. Manda "I was angry..." he muttered. Still was, though now the anger was for -himself-. He'd been an idiot ... to try and take on someone else in a fight... which he so wasn't good at. And he knew it. "Someone ... back... where I live always mocks me. For trying to be something ... " Something he really wasn't .. but he wasn't going to admit that to Ali. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali tilted his head, leaning forward, curious now. "What is it you're trying to be?" He inquired softly, wondering if he could perhaps do something for the other...as sort of an apology for stabbing him through with a katana. Uhm...yeah, that was kind of something that needed more than just 'gee, sorry I stabbed you'. Manda Oh great, here it comes. Ali would just make fun of him too, he was sure. He couldn't even be cool, much less, "Evil," he blurted out, before he could stop himself. Then he closed his eyes and just waited for it... +Sephiros Immortal+ Oook. Well...he had to admit that wasn't quite what he expected. "Well there's one I've never heard before." He replied, "So, just why is it you want to be evil now?" Surely if someone wanted to be evil, then they had to have a reason for it someplace...like Ali's father had once. Manda Cyr blinked at that, mind going perfectly blank at the question. "I ... " he started, then sighed and looked away, staring at the wall. "I don't know. Maybe ... if I was ... someone would pay attention to me..." Both of his parents had pretty much ignored his very existence as soon as he was past an age where he needed care of some sort ... and ... it had hurt. He didn't know what he had done that made them treat him like that, so he had watched them ... seen how they were ... and tried his best to imitate them. Thus.... evil. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali slipped onto the bed to sit cross-legged next to the other. "Hey...yanno...you don't have to be evil for someone to pay attention to you...in fact, being evil generally gets you the sort of attention you don't want, like what happened earlier. Even though it was an accident, if your actions are what people deem 'evil' then there will be folk who will come after you in earnest...sometimes even those people you want attention from the most...I know...that's how it worked for my father and uncle..." His green eyes were fixed on the blond, and Ali was speaking of a subject he knew a lot about. Dante and Vergil were happy now...but there had been far too many times...that bad things had happened between them. Manda Despite himself, Cyr was listening to the other, biting lip slightly. He'd never... really thought about it like that before. Of course, he'd never been very good at being evil ... so the only thing he'd gotten out of it was ridicule. "But then... what'm I supposed to do?" he asked, sounding a bit lost. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali shrugged, "Be yourself, of course...I know that's a cheesy sort of answer, but its true. The thing that you're best at being...is just you...your personality, things you like, people you get along with...You aren't evil...I can tell that...you're just frustrated, and now I'm really rather sorry I took advantage of it. But hey...you're already taking a step in the right direction...you're talking to me, right? I'm not ignoring you, that's for sure." Manda "I don't even know who I am..." he said at that, softly. And it was true ... he'd tried to be something else for so long ... that now, he was lost. He felt like an utter idiot and wondered ... if he hadn't been trying so hard, would he have friends now? Would his parents have paid more attention to him..? +Sephiros Immortal+ "Well then...I guess the next step is to find out, don't you think?" Ali glanced down, "You know...I'll be more than willing to help you out...if you need it...consider me your friend...I mean, seriously..." He grinned playfully at the other, "It's the least I can do after what I did earlier." Manda Cyr looked up at that, eyeing the other. "Would you... really..?" he asked, blinking. That was more ... than he'd ever hoped for. Ali didn't have to help him, no one did. He was just a screw-up that no one wanted ... so why..? +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali's expression softened...gods the other really didn't think anyone wanted him at all. Though Vergil had been less than a warm, nurturing parent, Ali had never doubted that his father cared about him...Ali couldn't imagine growing up like that. "Yeah...yeah I would really..." He murmured. Manda "Why...? You barely even know me," he asked at that, moving to get an elbow up under him ... pushing up just a little off the bed - even though that hurt. He didn't understand ... and he had no idea what to do about this. +Sephiros Immortal+ "Because. I'm really not a bad guy...and you look like you could use a friend...that and it isn't as though I have copious amounts of friends myself...I don't have a problem talking to people...but...social activities just aren't my thing, you know?" Ali slid up, gently pushing the other back down. "Hey hey...don't do that...you might start bleeding again." Concern flitted through green eyes as the silver-haired male ran his fingertips carefully over the bandage. Manda Cyr didn't fight when the other pushed him back down - in fact rather wanting to lay down again. Eyes lidded and he took a couple of careful breaths, the moved one hand to touch the one on his shoulder. "I ... thank you..." he murmured softly, sounding a bit startled and maybe a little awed at the prospect of having a friend. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smoothed blond hair back from the other's face. "No trouble...promise...now get some rest and get better, a'right? Then I'll show you some tricks about how to avoid getting stuck with a katana like that." In truth, Ali was sort of excited about the prospect of having a friend that would stick around...like it appeared Cyr would...and well...first impressions aside, Ali rather thought he'd like Cyr. Manda Cyr pulled up a smile from somewhere at that, finding ... that he rather liked the touch. It was nice, somehow. "Kay.." he murmured softly. And learning how to really fight would be nice too. Though what he would do with the skills, he wasn't sure ... if he wasn't going to be evil. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali returned the expression...noting that Cyr seemed far nicer on the eyes when he smiled, not that he wasn't...er...nevermind that thought. "Sleep well...I'll be right here if you need anything...a'right?" He himself was a bit tired...but...he'd let Cyr have the bed for now... Manda Cyr blinked slowly at the other, wondering ... if he was just going to sit in that chair all night. That couldn't be very comfortable... "If you'll ... help me move over a little ... we could share the bed," he offered quietly. He and his siblings had used to share a bed when they were all still little and with his parents, so it wasn't that strange a thing to him. +Sephiros Immortal+ Oh...well...that solved one dilemma right there. "Sure..." Ali, when he'd been little, had gone to his father or his uncle...generally both, because he usually found them in the same bed...but since...he really hadn't shared a bed with anyone... Hey don't look at him that way, I'm well aware the kid needs to get laid. Working on it. Shedding his coat and draping it over the chair, Ali slid on up into that bed, and gently got his arms around the other to help him ease over. Manda Cyr helped with that as much as he could ... though he wasn't really all that big - thanks to both parents also being sort of smaller people. Still, though, it hurt to move and he bit lip to keep from making any kind of noise as Ali helped him scoot over kind of. +Sephiros Immortal+ Once that was done, Ali lay down next to the other...fairly close, but not too close, closing his eyes with a sigh. "Mmm...well...I guess I'll talk to you in the morning, huh?" He inquired softly, feeling somehow overjoyed and amazingly devious all in the same moment. Just what would his father and uncle think if they found the other in here? Ah well...they generally let him wake up on his own, so no worries there. Manda Cyr turned to look at the other, smiling slightly. "Yea ..." he said softly. And gods, he really was tired ... apparently getting stabbed took a lot out of you ... mm, sleep would be nice. And so, with a little yawn, he let eyes slide shut, and was indeed asleep within moments. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali watched the other fall asleep, and with a content little sigh, he snuggled further under the covers, closing his eyes and making a pleased, purring sort of noise...before he too slipped off to sleep...out completely.

--RP Log-- ((Cyr and Ali - Hey What Did We Just Learn About Swords?)) Manda Well ... Cyr knew for sure that that was not something he ever wanted to do again. Having to lay around in a bed for almost two weeks really wasn't any fun. And then even after he'd been able to get up and move around, it had been another week or so before he felt anything close to normal. And now, Ali wanted to try to teach him to 'really' fight. Which ... Cyr wanted to learn, yea, but ... he wasn't all that sure about this. Especially since they'd gotten past bokken and such rather quickly, and were now both holding real blades, facing off in a little clearing out in the nearby forest. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali grinned, "You ready for this?" He was going to go a wee bit easier on the other than he might have otherwise this time...just to let him adjust...Cyr was still his student, after all, and Ali wasn't sure he'd be able to forgive himself if he wound up hurting him like he had last time. In fact, the silver-haired young man had become quite attached to this new friend of his...and luckily, both uncle and father had been quite busy and hadn't yet noticed the 'new addition'. Yet. Though they knew that Ali had a friend that he spent plenty of time with. Manda Cyr bit his lip just slightly and then nodded, lifting his own sword up a little higher. He was far more used to the smaller kunai that he could summon out of the air, but... he could see the wisdom in learning a larger sort of weapon too. "Ready when you are..." he said, and set his feet - waiting. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali came at him at a slight angle, moving to attack him with a hit that was obvious, so long as he was paying good attention. Ali didn't intend to throw anything that he couldn't pull back in time to prevent serious harm, should Cyr miss, or somehow find himself incapable of blocking one of the blows. Ali was fast...but he knew from experience that so was Cyr...this little exercise shouldn't be anything the other couldn't handle. Manda Cyr blinked, and the moved almost without thinking, blocking that strike. He learned quickly enough... it was just that no one had ever taken the time to try and teach him before. And they'd practiced enough with the bokkens that this was fairly easy, at least right now. Looking up at Ali then, he grinned, just glad he hadn't screwed up yet. +Sephiros Immortal+ All right...so one was good...with a pleased sort of expression, Ali then came in with one of the series of strikes that they'd practiced with bokkens, knowing that the other should be able to block it by rote...but every so often...he'd toss an odd strike in...trying to catch the other off guard...test him...then they could really play. Manda As they kept going, Cyr's confidence grew slowly ... and soon enough, he was even getting the odd ones out without too much trouble. "I think... I'm getting the hang of this," he said, smiling. He found himself doing a lot more of that lately ... it was kinda nice. And then he decided that he'd had enough of doing what they'd already done, and he stepped back, then took his turn on the offensive, going after Ali now. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali nodded in agreement, and then beckoned with a hand as he swiftly dashed out of the way of one of Cyr's strikes. "Good. Come get me then!" It was playful, as this was something that he liked to do...something he could do and be unafraid of taking a bit of damage. It was something he had one up on as far as most people went, though he didn't flaunt it...it was just...the family trait. Manda Cyr nodded at that and grinned, stepping back for just a moment and then ... quite literally went after the other with a wild sort of yell. He didn't know why, but suddenly, this had turned fun. He knew it was still serious, yea, but he got a sense of power from what they were doing, and it felt good. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali blinked in surprise, not quite having expected that, but managed to block that first blow. Well well...seemed someone was enthusiastic and ready to go today. It would seem that Ali would have to compensate...but it was hard to switch mental gears...especially considering that he still didn't want to hurt the other. Manda Cyr was caught up in their battle now, though. And he seemed to have all-but forgotten that this was supposed to be play, and not real. Grinning, he spun suddenly, twirling blade in his hand and reversing it almost like a bigger and much longer version of one of his own kunai. Then, as he darted past Ali, he thrust with that sword, backwards, in a totally unexpected sort of move for anyone more used to conventional swordplay. +Sephiros Immortal+ Oh s**t. Ali knew the instant the other was past him that he was in trouble...and suddenly...Ali found that he couldn't breathe...save to make a startled, soft cry, green eyes going wide...ah hell. Thank you very much world...he hadn't planned on taking quite this much damage today. Tasting blood on his lips, he realized distantly that the other must have hit a lung. Wonderful. Manda For a moment, Cyr didn't even realize what exactly had happened... just knew that the other had suddenly gone silent. Blinking, he turned then, just in time to hear that cry ... see the blood. And he made a sound himself, an almost panicked noise, very nearly dropping the sword. Oh ******** ... nonononono ... hadn't meant to ... s**t... "Ali..." he got out, voice half-choked, pulling blade out and moving toward the other. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali fell to his knees....and then he realized dimly that he must be worrying the other sick. Coughing, he raised a hand, "I...I'll live...just...need to get...need to get back so I can rest for a bit." He smiled weakly, "I...do believe you...win this round..." It was just a lung, it would heal...it wasn't something more serious...such as his heart...and he was fairly sure he couldn't heal decapitation. Fairly sure anyway. Manda Cyr shook head though, falling to knees as well, and pulling the other in close. He had no clue about the Sparda family's tendency to heal things like this... and was indeed worried sick. "I didn't mean to..." he said, sounding horrified. Trying not to be evil... but instead he'd just stabbed his friend, and probably somewhere vital too! ******** class="clear"> +Sephiros Immortal+ The silver-haired male shook his head, "I know you didn't..." He rasped, "S'fine...s'fine...I'll...be all right...just...need to rest...promise...I'm not...all human, yanno...I don't ******** die, thank you very much..." He reached up to clasp the other's arm with long fingers. "This isn't your fault...that...was a good move..." Manda Eyes just a bit wild, Cyr nodded at that, smoothing hair back with a nervous sort of worried gesture. "Ok ... so rest... I ... we can do that," he murmured, attempting to shove panic down. If Ali said he would be all right... he had to believe him. The other wouldn't lie to him, not about something like this. Carefully... ever so carefully, he moved then to get arms around the other, pick him up... slowly. And then he started back toward town, and the shop. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali nodded, closing his eyes and resting against the other's chest. "I'll be fine...promise..." He'd been hurt this bad before...just give it a few hours and he'd be mobile again. It was inconvenient, but that was about all that it was...oh yeah, don't forget the painful part...however...having Cyr hold him...was something of a nice bonus, now wasn't it? Ali hadn't even tried to delude himself when he'd realized he was fond of the other... he liked the blond immensely, but he really wasn't sure what to do about such a thing. Manda Even going slower so he didn't jostle Ali too much... it only took a few minutes to get back. And then it was just a matter of sneaking up to Ali's room... and he set the other down carefully on the bed, still looking worried. "D'you... want anything?" he asked, a little awkwardly. Oh! s**t... should probably get bandages right? Looking around, he frowned, then darted off toward the bathroom. "Be right back!" +Sephiros Immortal+ "Hey! Cyr! Cyr, get back here!" He sighed, and thought perhaps now should be a good time to explain. Yes, there was blood, and that would need to be cleaned up, but good lords, his wound was already closing...bandages really weren't needed. Manda Cyr heard that but kept going anyway, getting a couple of towels wet in the sink and then grabbing several more he figured he could rip up ... o-or... he could just use the sheet... SOMETHING. Skittering back into the bedroom, he put one knee on the bed and started using one of the wet towels to try and clean up blood. "Should you be talking?" he asked, eyes flicking to the other's face. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smiled wryly, "Cyr...look for yourself...my wound is already closing up...yeah, it still hurts like a b***h, but I'll be all right in a few hours...sore, but ready to go...I'm the son of a Valkyrie and a half-demon...I heal at a remarkable rate...you don't...have to worry..." He reached out a hand to brush the other's cheek, "I'm sorry...I know that I did worry you...but really...no need..." Manda The Nobody blinked at that, and looked down at what he was doing ... staring for a moment or two. Ali was right... it was closing. And now he just felt sort of like an idiot. Biting lip slightly and dropping the towel he'd been holding, Cyr sort of... stood there, not knowing what to do now. "I ... " he started, then trailed off, staring down at the floor. +Sephiros Immortal+ "C'mere, Cyr..." He said quietly, "I still need rest...to heal properly...and my body has lost enough blood so that I have to compensate for it...would you come rest up here with me?" He hadn't meant to make the other feel worse...he just...didn't want his friend to worry about him more...that's all...and now...well...Cyr could still be of use, if that was what he wanted. Manda Cyr glanced up at that, blinking slightly... and then he remembered how -warm- the other had seemed when he was hurt. "Oh... I guess I could..." he murmured, reaching over to get the wet towel off the bed. Then he shrugged out of coat and dropped it over the back of a chair and climbed into the bed slowly - careful still. "Just worried," he murmured, scooting in a bit closer. +Sephiros Immortal+ "I know..." He smiled faintly, "And I guess in some odd way...that's probably good...its very flattering that you're worried about me." Pulling covers up around them, he snuggled up against Cyr gingerly, careful with his wound, as it still pained him greatly. "Thank you...you really are...the best friend I've ever had." Manda Cyr relaxed then... just wanting to make sure he didn't hurt the other. And he snuggled in a little closer, carefully draping an arm over Ali's waist. "Flattering...huh?" he murmured, blinking at the other since their faces were now just inches apart. "Mm... and you're really the only friend I've ever had..." +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smiled drowsily, "I guess that just makes us special then, doesn't it?" He murred, closing his eyes and wiggling ever so cautiously closer. Yes...that was nice and snug now. "But...thank you, Cyr...for being my friend...and for staying here...with me...things are better when you're around." Manda "I'll stay... as long as you want me to," Cyr murmured in return, quietly. And he would... he really had nowhere else to go back to. Though a part of him kind of wanted... to go see his parents again, at some point. After he had figured out who he was... when he could show them he wasn't just a useless little child... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smiled at that, and rather wondered what the other would say...should he reply with forever... It would be nice to stay by Cyr's side...it was warm here...and there was a comforting sort of companionship...and perhaps even affection between them...not that they'd explored it...and perhaps they wouldn't...if Ali never mustered the courage. With a sigh, he let his tired body tug him off to sleep...perhaps he'd think more clearly once he was well. Manda It didn't take too long before Cyr followed, still not completely healed from his own wounds ... and rest was always a good thing.

--RP Log-- ((Cyr, Ali, Dante, Vergil - Family Can Be a Pain)) Manda It wasn't too long after that, though... that Dante decided to go see just what his nephew was up to. He and Vergil had both noticed that Ali had been spending quite a lot of time up in his room lately. Vergil would rather leave him alone and just wait it out, but Dante was curious. And upon peeking into the room, the demon-hunter blinked.... then lips spread into a smirk. SO.... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali wasn't sure what woke him up, though it was probably Dante's presence...and he stirred, shifting slightly as silver lashes fluttered apart to reveal sleepy green orbs beneath. Then...that gaze landed on Dante...and he blinked...several times...oh dear...He just saw the look on his uncle's face...and knew that he'd have to explain...and fast...or this could get embarrassing rather quickly. Manda When Ali moved, Cyr woke up too, and blinked... turning to stare at the newcomer. Who...?Dante grabbed a chair and spun it around to sit on it backwards, watching the two of them. "So, Ali!" he said cheerfully, smirk oooonly getting wider. "You wanna tell me who your friend here is~?" Ooh yes, he was going to have far too much fun here if someone didn't stop him. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali swallowed hard, "Uhm...Uncle...this is Cyr...Cyr...this is my uncle Dante...When I met Cyr a while back, we got into a fight, and I sort of...pulled a dad and stabbed him through the chest...so I figured I should bring him home and fix him up..." Gods he was antsy right now...because he knew how this looked and he knew Dante...and...with his own feelings in the mix, this could get bad. Manda Dante's brows cliiiiimbed upward at that, and he glanced from one to the other, head tilting. "That means this has been going on for a while, hmm?" he asked then, obviously not willing to give up on his first thought upon seeing the two of them. After all, this 'Cyr' looked well enough now... if anything, it was Ali who was a bit paler than usual. And if Cyr was no longer hurt...then... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali bit his lip, "He's been staying here, yes...and when he recovered his strength, I started teaching him how to use a sword...and...er...suffice to say he got me back for earlier out there during practice today." Oh please drop it...please please please. And very very belatedly, he realized just how badly his words might be taken...especially by Dante. s**t. Manda "Really now?" Dante said, as if completely fascinated by this story. And he leaned forward a little, actually rocking the chair up on two legs for a moment. "So you stabbed him first..." he said slowly. "And just now, today, he stabbed you back... with a sword...."Cyr just stared at the two of them, mouth hanging open. He could just tell that Ali was somehow going about this all the wrong way... but he couldn't see exactly how. He didn't know Dante, after all. But ... "Uhm," he started. "It ... wasn't like that...." +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali flushed slightly, "Not like that at all..." The green-eyed young man brushed his fingertips over the still-healing wound, "Here...see? Its healing nicely, though..." He commented, "And...dammit, uncle, I...Cyr's my friend...all right?" As much as Ali might wish to be more...for now...that's all the two were. Manda Dante eyed the two of them, and then just ... dropped it, still smiling, but no longer smirking like that. "All right, all right..." he murmured. Of course, it wasn't too hard to tell Ali's feelings on that 'friend' thing, but Dante wouldn't comment on that just now. Still, though, he had to have some fun. "Just don't go stabbing one another too often..." he said, schooling face into perfectly serious lines.Eyeing the older man suspiciously, Cyr nodded slowly at that, then glanced over at Ali. He'd figured out what Dante was implying here... but... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali made a face at his uncle, "Well I doubt we'd want to, as long as Cyr takes to heal wounds." Stubbornly refusing to acknowledge Dante's innuendos any further, he really hoped the other would leave now...kay thanks. Manda "If you don't stop doing it so often, you might get sore!" Dante pointed out, and then... just... burst out laughing, unable to help himself. This was just too great.... good gods... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali turned red, glancing down at his hands as fingers fisted in the covers. s**t...why couldn't Dante just leave him alone? He'd been fine with the way things were...and now...now Cyr was just going to be uncomfortable... hell, if things kept up...he might leave, just to get away from Ali's insane relations... "Shut up, Dante..." He murmured, far too flustered now. Manda "Ali..." Cyr started, and then trailed off, not even sure what he was going to say. What he could say. Dante really was just ... making things worse though.Blinking away tears of laughter, Dante just shook head, still helpless. This was just... too perfect. It wasn't often he was able to get the best of his own kids... and now here Vergil's son had given him the best opportunity in a loooong time. +Sephiros Immortal+ It was about that time that Vergil decided to see what all the commotion was about...and all he did was glance between the three of them, and blue eyes narrowed, and he tapped his brother on the shoulder. "Te...let's leave the boys alone." He'd get whatever details that Dante had divulged...and talk to Ali later...for now...Dante didn't need to be heckling them. Manda Oops. Attracted the twin... Dante ducked head almost like he thought the other might hit him (as he probably deserved it). "Uhm. Yea, sure," he said quickly, and got up to follow the other out of the room. Probably Vergil would just hit him later.... or do other things..."So uhm.... that was your dad..?" Cyr asked after a minute or two of total silence. In truth, he did feel a bit ... awkward now. But that didn't mean he'd just hightail it and run off... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali nodded, "Yeah...he's...he's Dante's twin brother...and...I'm sorry, Cyr...sometimes...I guess...Dante just doesn't know when to shut up..." Or knew...but merrily plunged his way past that regardless. Manda "I ... sorta figured that," he replied quickly, ducking head. ..... Oh for the love of... "Ali," Cyr said then, turning to look at the other. "D'you... do you like me? I mean like... uhm. Like he was saying. Implying." Whatever the hell he'd been doing. +Sephiros Immortal+ Oh hell...why couldn't...Cyr stop being perceptive for once in his life? Sighing softly, Ali nodded, "Yeah...I...I do, Cyr..." Please don't leave...hell...if the other went he'd be all by himself again...and would Cyr be ok? Hell, he'd never bothered to explain the complicated way in which his family worked, about his father sleeping with his uncle and about how most of them swung that way...and...dammit he was an idiot. Manda Ok... uhm. Well, hadn't really expected this but ... but maybe he should have. They were friends, yea, and he knew that much... but didn't it also make sense that maybe there was more to it? He'd never... even had friends before, much less anything else. "Ali.." he said slowly "I don't really know... how I feel. I mean ... never really had a friend before much less..." and he broke off with a bit of a flush. "But uhm. I... won't take back what I said before. I'll stay here... as long as you want me to... try to figure it out.." +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smiled weakly, a sort of relief evident on his features. "So...you're not going to leave me?" His voice was soft...and it was evident that was just what he'd been fearing...had been terrified of, in fact...scared that first Dante...and then Ali himself...would drive Cyr away from him. Manda Cyr blinked at that ... eyeing the other... then shook his head. "No ... where else would I go..?" he asked softly. Though he didn't at all mean that here was like... a last resort or something. No... he did like Ali, and he liked being here. Having a friend, and being able to talk to someone... figuring out slowly who he was... +Sephiros Immortal+ He wrapped his arms around the other in a fierce hug. "Cyr...I do love you...and I want you to stay...to stay with me...even if you never feel for me as I do for you...you're important to me...and you make me happy. Somehow...I hope I do a little of the same for you..." Closing his eyes, he rested against the other for a long moment...trying to quell some of his own nervous tremors. Manda Without even knowing quite what he was doing, Cyr almost hesitantly wrapped arms around the other in turn. "You do make me happy..." he murmured then, softly - fingers going to brush hair back. "Thank you, Ali... for bringing me here... and being my friend." +Sephiros Immortal+ Tilting his head to look at the other...Ali couldn't help but notice how close they were...and he was driven by a nearly overpowering urge to kiss his friend...something he'd wanted to do before...but now...the temptation was far greater. Without thinking...he leaned in...and stopped himself just barely short...settling back a bit and lidding his eyes. He'd promised to give Cyr time...and he would do as he'd said. Had to remember this wasn't about what he wanted. Manda Cyr caught onto that, though ... and smiled slightly, one hand shifting to hold the other still. No one ever said... he couldn't try this. Just because he'd never had lovers didn't mean ... that he had no clue whatsoever about the physical aspects of such. "Go on..." he murmured. "I don't mind... " Time... didn't necessarily mean they couldn't try things. And how would he ever know if they didn't..? +Sephiros Immortal+ Oh...oh well then...with a pleased little smile and a trembling breath, he then pressed warm lips to Cyr's own, pressing close to the blond with a low purr. Oh yes...this was very nice...and just as lovely as he'd imagined it...imagined it far more times than he probably should have, mind. Manda For just a moment, Cyr was utterly still, and then... he let eyes lid... and returned that kiss. He was a fairly fast learner, and this wasn't exactly hard. It was nice, though... felt good. And he made a soft noise of his own, leaning in just a bit.

--RP Log-- ((Cyr and Ali - Trouble in (Not Quite) Paradise)) +Sephiros Immortal+ It was some time later after Ali...initiated things that they both finally collapsed...sweaty and sated, on the sheets. Ali, though fairly inexperienced in his own right, had known enough to guide the other through it, and Cyr had been gentle with the other...and in truth, Ali had expected nothing less. He couldn't help but hope, however, that this had worked things out in Cyr's head, and the silver-haired young man ran a hand down the blond's side...pondering as to what to say now. Manda Cyr's lighter blue eyes were half lidded now, shivering just slightly at that touch and blinking lazily at the other. Clothing had been tossed to one side of that bed toward the beginning of things and the air now was just a bit cool against sweat-damp skin. Making a little contented sound, the blond snuggled in just a bit closer - somehow flattered ... that Ali had wanted to do this with him ... but at the same time, still not entirely sure what it all meant, in the grand scheme of things. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smiled faintly, brushing his lips against Cyr's own. "Love you..." He wasn't expecting to hear it back, per say...but...he did hope for it. There was an earnest look in green eyes, and really...this had been special for him...an offering... He was Cyr's, if Cyr would have him. Running a hand down the other's arm, he closed his eyes, cuddled in as close as possible...almost holding his breath...wondering...what Cyr would say. Manda Cyr tensed at that, though ... knowing... that he still wasn't sure - and knowing as well that if he didn't say something, he would hurt the other. But ... he didn't want to lie. Didn't want to commit when he wasn't sure himself. Good gods, when had this become so damn complicated..? "I ... " he started, hesitated... dammit. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali bit his lip, and his fingertips ran their way down Cyr's cheek. "It's...all right..." He murmured quietly, "You don't have to say anything, if you don't mean it..." But he went quiet, burying his face in the other's neck and just clinging to him, wordless. He wouldn't cry...wouldn't guilt Cyr any more than he already had. He had no right. Manda Cyr sighed softly ... able to tell even with that ... that he'd managed to do something wrong. It seemed that he was pretty much ******** either way, here. "I'm sorry..." he murmured quietly, trying to keep the annoyance out of his voice. "I just ... it's hard," he said then, moving a hand to run fingers through the other's hair. He'd thought maybe ... this might change something, and ... it had been good, yes... but it hadn't helped him figure out his own head. What he wanted... who he loved. +Sephiros Immortal+ He smiled faintly, drawing back just a bit to look at the other, as he didn't want to become...a problem... "I know...and I'm sorry I put you in this position, I shouldn't have..." Selfish...always selfish... But he'd never loved anyone like this before, and he didn't...quite know how to handle it. Hell...he wished that Dante hadn't come in and forced things to the fore. Manda "No ... hey. It's not your fault.." Cyr said at that, frowning slightly. He didn't want to hurt Ali ... ********. "I'm the one that's screwed up ..." he murmured softly. And he was... he knew it. His life growing up hadn't been anything spectacular, to say the least. Then he'd been confused ... most of his life ... and just now, when he was maybe starting to find some steady ground, he couldn't even figure out for sure how he felt about the other... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali shook his head, hand cupping the blond's cheek. "You're not screwed up...it's not your fault that you didn't have anything remotely like a normal upbringing...hell, neither did I...you're Cyr...and you're perfectly fine just the way you are...you just...have to figure things out for yourself, and I'm certainly not helping by complicating things..." He felt bad for that... "I...shouldn't have confused you like this." Manda "Mm... but I don't want ... to hurt you either," he murmured in return, leaning into that touch, eyes lidding. He knew... that he liked this. The touching, the physical part ... he just didn't want to end up playing with emotions. His own, or Ali's. +Sephiros Immortal+ He sighed softly, shivering. "I...Cyr..." What could he say? He'd already been hurt...hurt because the other could not simply love him in return, though he knew better than to think it was simple. He'd just been loving the other...quietly, in his own way, without Cyr's knowledge...and that had been all right, because he couldn't be rejected...if the other didn't know, and he could live in the delusion that perhaps the other loved him too...but he didn't have that anymore. Manda "Ali... " Cyr murmured in reply, biting lip slightly. "Just ... because I can't ... say for sure that I love you, it ... it doesn't mean that I don't. I just ... I don't know and I ... I don't want to say it now, then find out later I didn't really mean it..." If he just said it to make the other happy, and then he figured out later it wasn't real ... how was that any better? +Sephiros Immortal+ "I know..." He replied softly, "But...I just wish you could...I'm sorry, this is my fault and I should never...never have put you in this position." With a little upset noise, he snatched at a pillow, flopping on his stomach and hiding his head beneath it, shoulders trembling slightly. Cyr was definitely not going to see him cry, nope. Manda Cyr blinked at that, then sighed softly and flopped back as well ... going still for a moment or two. Eyes lidded ... as ... he didn't know how to fix this, but wished that he could, somehow. "It's not your fault... dammit, Ali," he said finally, rolling over to try and stick his own head until that pillow too. +Sephiros Immortal+ But it seemed that he wasn't too keen on having company under that pillow, doing his best to keep the other out, though his words came, muffled. "Yes it is. If I hadn't said or done anything I...I could have been content with loving you...without ever knowing...if you loved me back, then I could at least pretend that...you loved me too. S'what I was doing...stupid I guess...but I...I was happy..." ******** he wanted to stop crying now. Manda Somehow, in all their collective squirming around, an elbow managed to shift just so and smack straight into Cyr's nose as he was trying to get underneath the pillow too. With a little startled noise - more of surprise than pain ... he jerked backwards and frowned at the top side of that pillow, a hand coming up to rub his nose. Then with a sigh, he laid down again - curling with back toward the other now. Fine... if Ali didn't want him there, then he didn't have to keep trying. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali peeked out from under that pillow, wanting to apologize... He did want the other close, it calmed and soothed him, but he really had no right to ask for it. So he burrowed further under the covers and that pillow, to cry quietly until he fell asleep.

--RP Log-- ((Cyr and Ali - Well, Finally )) Manda After that night ... Cyr had decided... that maybe he needed a little bit of time to himself, to sort of think over things. To try to get his head on straight and figure out what he did and didn't feel about Ali. He knew... this was likely to hurt the other more... but ... if he found that he didn't really feel anything, it would be easier, maybe, to just ... fade away. Go somewhere else to live, perhaps. He didn't know.
In any case... it had been nearly a week and he still knew nothing one way or the other... and he found himself wandering ever closer to that shop, unsure why ... but stopping himself just short of actually going to visit every time. Ali ... didn't need to be hurt anymore by seeing him ... until he had an answer. +Sephiros Immortal+ And Ali instantaneously blamed himself for it. He'd taken the other's disappearance to mean that the answer had been no...and the young man knew...just knew that he'd forced the other into this...by doing what he'd done that night. Hell...if he'd never said anything...or even if he'd never slept with him...something, anything...anything that he could have done differently to keep Cyr from leaving.
The green-eyed, silver-haired young swordsman became quiet, almost surly, and he went out...day after day, to find and hunt down demons...as he couldn't quite take a sword to himself with quite that much force. But each strike seemed to be personal...though gods knew what he was hitting. Manda This day was really no different from any other ... the dark-cloaked Nobody wandering about the streets, here to there... and back again - every minute somehow growing closer to that shop, to Ali. Even though he knew that he shouldn't go back ... as he had no idea what Ali has assumed...
Today, though, he paused in one particular alleyway, frowning slightly. He could hear ... sounds of battle somewhere up ahead. Shrieks of the demons that were all too familiar in these parts, mixed with the unmistakable sound of a sword striking flesh and bone ... a katana. And a very familiar one at that. Hesitating, Cyr wondered ... if he should go back... +Sephiros Immortal+ This, however, would be the day in which Ali would make a mistake. It was a simple one, simply not looking about, totally thrown into a fight...and a demon appeared behind him...and at the first hint of pain, Ali moved, only to have the others move in on him as well...and there were suddenly not one, but multiple blades in his body, and he quite nearly screamed, his cry a choked one of sheer agony. Oh hell...he was going to die...something he really wasn't all that interested in doing, but there was...no help for him... Manda Cyr had almost started to turn away ... and then heard that cry ... and froze, eyes widenening. Oh hell. With a noise that was almost a growl, he spun around and ran toward the noise, calling up electrified kunai as he went. There weren't really a lot of plants around here... so his father's power wouldn't do much good ... and he couldn't keep up the electricity for long, but maybe it would make some difference. Charging out of that alley, he was already throwing kunai - one or two hitting killing marks before they demons noticed they had a new foe... and then it got harder. +Sephiros Immortal+ They did indeed turn to fight this new opponent, leaving Ali for now, the swordsman falling to his knees, trying to breathe again through injured lungs. Slowly, pain-glazed eyes turned upwards... Cyr...Cyr was here. He wanted to reach for him, wanted to help the other, but Ali couldn't...wasn't capable...and so he lay curled on the pavement...having to wait...hoping the teaching he'd given Cyr was enough... Manda Soon enough... they got in too close for him to use those kunai how he knew best - as distance weapons... and then Cry frowned, ducking the swing of a scythe. Glancing around, he darted toward Ali, snatching up the fallen katana on his way. "Borrowing this," he said shortly and spun - blade reversed in his hand almost as if it was simply a larger version of one of the smaller dagger-like weapons. It was an odd mix of styles ...and one these demons had never seen before. +Sephiros Immortal+ Not that Ali was really going to protest in the shape he was in. Blinking slowly, he watched the fight...and it seemed that Cyr was winning...which made him glad. The damage to Ali's own body, was going to take some time to heal...longer than the last time...gods he'd never been hurt this badly. Manda Eventually ... most of those demons were down, and the rest took a look at this new opponent ... and decided maybe retreat was the best option. Only once he was sure they were gone did Cyr slump a bit ... panting ... gods... he'd been so afraid that he wouldn't be able to fight them ... but... Ali. Straightening with an almost audible 'snap' of his spine, Cyr spun, eyes widening. "Ali!" he called, darting over to kneel beside the other... oh please ... don't let him be dead... +Sephiros Immortal+ "Cyr..." His voice was faint, slightly raspy due to pain, damaged lungs. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry for everything and anything I did...I'm sorry for pushing you...I...I...I'm sorry...Even if...even if..." But the words had been too much and his lithe body was wracked with a coughing spasm, blood touching his lips...s**t. Manda "Shh ... stop talking ... it's not your fault.." Cyr murmured, brushing hair back out of the other's face. A part of him was still very afraid ... he didn't want Ali to die ... didn't want to lose him. "I ... don't leave... " he murmured then, not even entirely aware of what he was saying. "Please..." +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali shivered, "I...not leaving...specially..." He forced a smile, "...not if you ask..." Green eyes lidded, and he struggled again to breathe, as his body was trying to mend itself. Hell, this really wasn't good. "I think...best...to go home though...not...not safe here..." Out in the streets, they were a very visible target to the lurking dangers. Manda Home... Cyr really didn't have a home, not like Ali did... but he knew what the other meant. And it was a good idea... gods, he didn't want ... Ali to die ... never. If he could have, he would have sped along that healing...helped out more ... somehow. "Yea ... c'mere.." he murmured, shifting sword so he could get arms underneath the other - lifting him carefully - with a soft noise of effort. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali winced, features tightening in pain, but he didn't make a sound when the other lifted him. "Thank you..." He breathed, settling in against the other's chest. Cyr had always been strong, though he didn't really look it...not like Ali did, who was built much like his father and uncle. Manda "Shh..." Cyr's eyes lidded in response to that, and he started off slowly toward the shop ... just hoping nothing else happened on the way there...
But it seemed that luck was finally on their side tonight, because they made it without any real incident... and it appeared the rest of the family was out for the moment. So Cyr just headed up the stairs... to Ali's room, setting the other down on the bed. +Sephiros Immortal+ As the other set him down, almost instinctively Ali grabbed for his hand...as though afraid that the other would disappear again...leave him. Gods, he didn't want that to happen, couldn't allow it to...he wouldn't ever push the other ever again if only...if only he didn't leave... Manda Cyr smiled slightly at that... turning just a bit to sit down on the edge of the bed. He ... hadn't realized... just what leaving might do to the other. Damn ... "I'm not going anywhere..." he murmured, almost as if reading Ali's mind somehow. "I'm sorry ... gods ..." +Sephiros Immortal+ "I...I hated myself for making you leave..." He confessed, curling fingers about the other's hand. "I...won't ever ask you to do anything...I won't ever insinuate...I won't push...if...if you don't want me to...just don't...just please don't leave...just...be my friend..." Tears were in his eyes, the pain that he'd been feeling over the past days had come to a head...and he was beyond glad...just to see Cyr again. Manda Cyr sighed softly ... "I never ... stopped being your friend," he murmured quietly, shifting then ... turning to lay down on that bed and pulling the other in close to his chest. Warmth would help ... he remembered that. "I didn't ... go because you pushed me ... I ... needed to try to figure stuff out. I should have stayed though ... I ... this's kinda my fault..." +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali shook his head, glad for the sudden closeness, and the warmth of the other. "I...this isn't your fault...I just wished you had told me that...I...thought that that meant your answer was no...and you didn't...you didn't want to see me..." He gave a shuddering sigh, "I'm glad...that's not the case, whatever your answer is." Manda Cyr sighed softly at that, eyes lidding ... he'd tried to tell him ... but he supposed ... that he'd done it badly. Either way, though ... "I was afraid ... earlier ... you'd die. And I ... I didn't want you to go..." he murmured, pressing in closer still, if such was possible. Eyes lidded slightly then, and he took a breath, letting it out ... "I think ... yes.." An answer to a question weeks old now... +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali's lips parted, an indescribable joy coming onto his features, green eyes lighting up. "Cyr..." Yes? It was a total reversal of what he'd thought...and the misery that he'd been living in the past week, was suddenly gone, driven away like clouds before sunlight, as though it had never been there. "Gods...I..." He had no words left to say...speechless now. Manda Cyr smiled in return ... his almost bittersweet - but not quite - reaching to smooth fingers back through hair. "I'm sorry ... it took ... almost losing you to make me realize it..." he murmured, eyes searching the other's face. "But I ... I love you ... want to stay with you ... forever." +Sephiros Immortal+ "I love you too...and I...want you to stay...want to keep you...with me..." He breathed, tilting his head and pushing himself forward, to claim the other's lips. Gods yes...this had been what he'd wanted, and what he thought he'd lost forever...and he was just glad...glad they were both alive and overjoyed that his love was shared between them. Manda Cyr let eyes lid at that ... marveling ... at how easy this really was, once he'd just ... given in to his feelings, stopped trying to analyze everything. Gods... never wanted to leave. Not ever. Making a low sort of purring sound, he wrapped one arm about the other's waist, nuzzling at a cheek for a moment. "Mm... you should probably rest. I'm not going anywhere," he murmured, shrugging off coat to lay it over the both of them. +Sephiros Immortal+ He smiled in satisfaction, sighing happily. "Rest...sounds good, especially with you here..." Green eyes closed in their turn, and he completely relaxed, snuggling up against the other carefully, trying not to jar wounds. "Thank you...you did save me today...in addition to making me very happy." Manda "Yea ... I know. You're not allowed to die on me..." Cyr replied at that, snuggling in closer still. Now... Ali just needed to sleep, and heal ... then everything... would be fine.

--RP Log-- ((Cyr, Ali, Vergil, Dante - You're Not Thinking of ... )) +Sephiros Immortal+ There was really too much going on in the house these days. Vergil blamed it all on the kids, but since the kids of the family were now partly his fault, he really couldn't complain. With a little sigh, he trekked up to Ali's room, sticking his head in there to see the two all snuggled up together. Well...Cyr was back...that was something. "Cyr, Ali?" He called quietly, arching an eyebrow, as he noted that Ali looked like he'd had a bit of an...er...accident. What HAD those two been doing anyway? Manda Cyr stirred slightly, eyes blinking open at that voice from the doorway. Trying not to move around a lot ... so as not to wake Ali up, he turned to look at Vergil. "Uhm... hi," he said quietly, looking almost a bit afraid. After all ... even if in an indirect way, it was kind of his fault that Ali had ended up like this... +Sephiros Immortal+ Vergil tilted his head. "You're back. What happened? Ali has been moping like a kicked puppy for the past week, but it seems things are back to normal." He wasn't angry, no, as Ali would heal, the same way they did, but all the same, it would be nice to know how he'd gotten that way...and why Cyr had reappeared. Manda "I ..." Cyr started, shifted carefully just a bit more so he was facing the other. "I didn't leave because he pushed me ... I wanted... to try to think things over," he murmured quietly. "Didn't go so well, though ... still had no clue about what I really felt ... about him." At least there was one thing working in his favor ... that it was Vergil up here right now and not Dante. He'd already figured out that one was a pain in these sorts of situations. Or at least, he could be. +Sephiros Immortal+ Vergil nodded slowly, apparently mulling over the words, thinking before he spoke. One of the major differences between the twins was Vergil's tendency to do this and Dante's to...not. "Well...do you know now?" He inquired, prompting the conversation further. He knew Dante would have given the other a hard time...but there was no need to do so...it seemed it had been hard enough for them both. Manda "Well... yea," Cyr said, smiling slightly and tightening his hold on the other juust a bit. "It took ... way too much for me to realize it though ... I was afraid... that I might lose him," he murmured then, eyes lidding. Gods, if he hadn't been there... heard what was going on ... +Sephiros Immortal+ Vergil smiled faintly, "Most of us...go through a moment like that. I know I have. More than once...and Dante has as well. I'm honestly glad, for the two of you, Cyr." This meant that Ali was happy...and even though it seemed like Vergil didn't care about his son sometimes...that was not at all the case. Manda "Oh ... you did?" Cyr asked, eyes widening just a bit. After all, he knew next to nothing about this little family he'd apparently become a part of. Ali had told him a bit... but had sort of glossed over the details of his father and uncle's relationship and how it had come to be. To Cyr... Vergil seemed quiet, yes, but not... really the type to be indecisive, about much of anything. +Sephiros Immortal+ Vergil nodded slowly, "Yes...I was afraid Dante would hate me...if he knew...typical idiocy on my part..."Just then, beside Cyr, Ali stirred, blinking green eyes blearily at the two of them. "Hey...Dad...what're you doing up here?" Almost instantly he was looking about for Dante, as he generally was used to seeing the twins together...if nothing else, he'd see Dante alone...his father rarely, as he didn't get out as often. Manda Cyr was about to reply to that when he felt Ali move... and turned to see that the other appeared to have woken up. "Interrogating me," he answered with a little smile - before Vergil could say anything himself. "It's all right though ... how're you feeling?" he asked, turning head to nuzzle at the other just a bit. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali smiled, and tilted his head into the touch with a little purr, before snagging the blond for a proper kiss. Yes, he was rather fond of the other thank you very much. "Far better than I did before, still a mite sore, but..." His gaze flicked to his father. "And be nice, Dad...Cyr's been very good to me." With that, he nipped playfully at Cyr's ear, a devious look on his features.Vergil's brows went up slightly, giving the two a mildly bemused look. "Oh I am being nice. I haven't threatened to consume his soul or tear him limb from limb yet." Utterly deadpan. Vergil's sense of humor was a strange one. Manda Cyr squirmed just a bit at that kiss - and then the n** to his ear, burrowing down under his coat just a bit more. "That's good..." he murmured in response to Ali, then gaze flicked to Vergil, blinking. He wasn't... really serious, was he...?And it was juuuust about then that Dante decided to go looking for his twin. Poking head into the door, he caught just the end of Vergil's comment and grinned. "Hey if we're dismembering people here, you'd better not leave me out!" Then he blinked at the two on the bed. "Ooh, you're back! What happened?" +Sephiros Immortal+ Vergil tilted his head towards his brother, "Apparently Cyr is now an official member of our little family, and since he's being nice and Ali's attached to him at the hip, it would seem that no maiming or other mutilation shall be taking place." That was probably not a short, blunt enough version for Dante, but it would work until one of the other two felt like explaining. Ali smiled faintly, wrapping his arms about Cyr. "Yeah...what dad said..." The smile turned into a devious smirk. "This one's mine." Now that that wasn't in question, Ali had no trouble flaunting it. Manda "Aww... no maiming?" Dante replied at that, moving to drape himself over his twin's back, one arm about the other's shoulders. "Well ... I guess that'll have to wait, maybe. After all, ya can't keep him all to yourself, all the time," he pointed out. Though what Dante actually had in mind was maybe showing this Cyr a few tricks of his own with a sword ... Cyr blinked at Ali, then Dante ... and just chose not to say anything at the moment, instead snuggling in closer with a little purring sound of his own - obviously quite happy to be right where he was. +Sephiros Immortal+ "Mmm...I suppose...just don't damage him, he doesn't heal like we do..." Vergil paused a moment... "That goes for you too, Ali..." After all...he didn't really know how his son was in bed, and if his relatives were any indication...Ali made a face, sticking his tongue out at his father and uncle. "Well I'll keep him around for a while if he doesn't have any objection...now how about you busybodies leave the bedroom, hmmm?" He inquired, waggling brows a bit where Cyr couldn't see. Manda "Hey... I can take a little damage!" Cyr protested, feeling the need to ... er. Defend his dignity a bit. After all, it wasn't as if he was human ... Nobodies could actually heal faster, just .... not as fast as this little family could.Dante laughed at that, moving closer for a second just for the express purpose of mussing up the hair of both boys. Then he retreated again and started out of the room, just waiting on his twin to follow. +Sephiros Immortal+ "Of course you can," Ali purred, "And we're going to test that theory..." Oh most assuredly, because he rather wanted to bed the blond now that they were lovers again...and he intended to make it a bit more heated than the last round had been. Vergil was just behind Dante, murmuring a good luck to the boys, before shutting the door behind them. Oh yes, things were about to be getting most interesting in that bedroom, he could tell. Manda Cyr blinked at the other though, head tilting. "Oi ... you're not thinking of ... doing that right now, are you..?" he asked after a minute or two. Just how fast did these people heal, anyway? It had only been a few hours, after all... he thought. Couldn't really tell for sure since he'd fallen asleep too. +Sephiros Immortal+ Ali grinned, "Oh yessirree I most certainly am." He replied, tapping the other on the nose. "Are you up for it?" He inquired, doing his best to look as innocent as was physically possible, even though he knew that...well...he wasn't being innocent at all, quite the opposite, actually. Manda Another blink at that... the Nobody peering up at the other as Ali shifted to tap his nose. "Mm... well..." he murmured slowly. "Not saying I'm not ... just... don't hurt yourself. Kay?" he said then, leaning up a bit to trace a finger along the other's jawline. +Sephiros Immortal+ The silver-haired young man nodded, "Don't worry...I can gauge myself...and I'm almost completely healed...I'm in good condition...and I'll show you just how good..." He purred, capturing the other's lips in a kiss and pushing him back, moving to straddle him. Oh yes...this should be fun. >D

--RP Log-- Uh oh... +Sephiros Immortal+ "Today was just one of those days that promised to be interesting. Sephyr had awoken in the wee hours, and padded over to her in search for a meal. She wasn't too keen on obliging him, but had been willing all the same when Marluxia stuck his nose in. Silly a**....he was protective, though he tried not to show it.
So she'd left before the sun had arisen, but now that it had, she was out looking for something to distract her, something to keep her mind off the craziness that was home. Thus far, she had had little luck. Manda In contrast, Ritsuka was sulking. Soubi had been an utter -pain- lately, and it only seemed to be getting worse. There were times when the blond fighter just ... didn't seem to realize that Ritsuka wasn't a child anymore. Even before they had ended up in this place, Ritsuka had lost ears and tail and all that went with them - and to Soubi, no less. He'd also grown in other ways, been through high school and come out the other side not much the worse for wear... But still, there were times Soubi seemed to think they were living in the past.
And it got annoying. And of -of course- as soon as Ritsuka pointed it out, they got into a fight ... which meant he'd slept alone last night. Now, he was just out walking... trying to distract himself for a while. +Sephiros Immortal+ Two souls with such similar wishes could almost not help meeting one another, especially since fate was such a fickle, playful being. She noted him, blue eyes flicking to the fellow who seemed about her age...mayhap younger, it was hard to tell with kitsu, and she made a low purring sound before she stopped herself and padded closer.
"Well hello there, what brings you out so early on this morning?" Not a good morning, that usual part notably absent. Manda Ritsuka stopped, startled out of his rather dark thoughts and blinked at the other kitsu that seemed to have suddenly showed up. Before he could really help it, he opened his mouth and answered honestly. "Irritation," he said, a bit shortly, but it was clear he wasn't irritated with her.
Still, though. Not the best way to start a conversation. In the time between when he had met Soubi and when the two of them had ended up here, he -had- learned to be a bit more social than before. With a little sigh, he shook his head. "Sorry. What about you?" +Sephiros Immortal+ "Ah, that makes two of us then." She replied mildly, "And why sir, are you irritated? Are the people about you particularly irking and unpleasant? For I know that is the case with myself." Goodness knows she could do without the vampires and the overprotective parents. She'd love to have something to throw in that arrogant face of her father's...just once. Manda "I'm just... getting tired of being treated like a child," Ritsuka murmured with a sort of scowl. She knew nothing about him, and so couldn't possible know all of what he was talking about. But it was nice that someone would listen. Or even pretend to. Or whatever. And now he was confusing himself. Sitting himself down on the ground, Ritsuka laid ears back a bit as he thought about Soubi. "Really ... do I look like that much of a child to you? Like I don't know how to take care of myself?" +Sephiros Immortal+ Bianca, however, bobbed her head sagely, "I too, am tired of being treated as though I cannot take care of myself nor make my own decisions." She smiled wryly, "You look capable enough, I daresay." She padded closer, to stand almost nose to nose with him. "I'm Bianca...who might you be, oh he who shares my troubles?" Manda Ritsuka blinked a little at her almost formal way of speaking, but somehow ... he found himself liking her. One reason being that she agreed with him ... that was always nice. "I'm Ritsuka," he replied, with a little bob of his head - ears tilting toward her. "It's nice to meet you ... Bianca." +Sephiros Immortal+ Oh my he -was- cute. She chuckled low in her throat, "A nice name. Who is it that vexes you so then, Ritsuka? Is it family? Close friend, acquaintance?" She rumbled softly, sitting back on her haunches and canting head to one side. This one might do well...he was nice enough, after all...seemed a mite like herself. Manda Ritsuka hesitated just for a moment at that. Somehow, he didn't want to admit that the two of them were supposed to be lovers. It was kind of embarrassing after all ... not that they -were- together, but that they should be fighting this much. "More like... a close friend," he finally answered, tail tips flicking a bit behind him. +Sephiros Immortal+ "Ah, I see...so it really isn't easy then is it?" She gently put a paw atop one of his in sympathy. "Sometimes...I get so irritated...I'd love to do something on my own for once. Something to do just because I felt like it...and they wouldn't have a say in the world. Make my -own- decision." She sighed ruefully, putting her paw back in its place. "I feel surrounded by the blind at times." Manda Ritsuka's eyes widened just a little at her words... and he found himself nodding, slowly at first and then a bit faster. "Yea ... I ... never really thought of it like that before. But now that you've said it, I wish I could ... think of something to do. Something to -show- him I'm not a child anymore and I can make my own choices.." +Sephiros Immortal+ Bianca tapped Ritsuka on the nose. "Well then!" She chortled delightedly, "Mayhap we can find a solution together, don't you think? One that would benefit both you and I and bring about our purpose? For we share the same complications in life." And he was such a nice boy too... Manda The slender male's nose instantly wrinkled at that tap, but he didn't protest, instead tilting head and smiling slightly at her. If nothing else ... he had a feeling that whatever she had in mind would be fun. And it would -certainly- show Soubi that he had a mind of his own. "Did you have something in mind...?" he asked, leaning foward a bit, eager. +Sephiros Immortal+ She wiggled her eyebrows at him, "Well, we're both consenting adults, aren't we? And aren't we allowed a little fun if we so choose? Unless of course, you aren't into girls at all." Prime example? Sephyr. Arrogant charmer that he was...he steadfastly held the opinion he could have anyone and chose no one...but he didn't say why...gods knew he was a pain. Manda For just a moment, Ritsuka hesitated... not sure ... that he wanted to go that far. But then, he remember how Soubi had been -looking- at him lately, like he was some fragile little creature ... like he used to be. No ... no more of that. If this was what it took to prove to Soubi once and for all that he -was-, indeed, an adult ... "Oh no ... I like girls fine," he said, almost a little too quickly. In truth, he'd .... never been with anyone but Soubi. But -she- didn't have to know that, right? It couldn't be all that different. +Sephiros Immortal+ "Then it's settled then!" She seemed wondrously happy about the whole affair. "Come with me then, Ritsuka...I know a marvelous place!" She seemed enthused, full of energy and ready to prove to everyone that she could make her own decisions in life. But it was so much more fun with a partner in crime... Manda Ritsuka bounced just a bit, almost surprising himself with how excited -he- was about this little plan of theirs. Sure, maybe it was a bad idea, but ... he wanted... needed to prove himself -somehow-. And he had never done anything like this before ... never just taken life into his own hands (or paws) and run with it. Maybe it was time to give it a try...

(( From MSN logs, July 2008. We were playing them more "humanized" but these are the Kitsu versions XD ))
Evandir muttered to himself as he fought his way through the air - headed toward home. He -knew- it was bad idea to try and fly in the rain, but he'd been gone most of the day already looking for everything that his parents had sent him after in town. Their 'excuse' was that he could get there and back faster than his other siblings. But it wasn't working too well -now-, as he was having to fight damp air and water-logged feathers to get -anywhere-. Not that the wind was helping either. Glancing down, he tried to figure out how much farther he had to go ... and as such didn't realize he was flying right into a pocket of colder air. When he hit it though, he sure as -hell- noticed, as he suddenly dropped about three feet and yelped in surprise. Attempting to correct himself, he ended up overcompensating and from that point .... he just had to hope that he could slow this fall so he wouldn't seriously hurt himself.
It was raining again. Trapped in the rain would not have been the best thing for Kadaj at any time, fond of leathers as he was, but...he didn't care now, not a whit, it had been a long time, in fact, since he'd cared about anything. Always he had fought not to be alone...he'd had his brothers always, and together they'd searched for mother...but she had come, and she was displeased with him. Yazoo had vanished, Loz was gods knew where, and Kadaj was alone. Even the one friend he'd been able to make and solidly keep was too busy for him. Dante had Vergil now, and family, lots of family. A mirthless, not entirely sane little smile touched Kadaj's lips at the thought of family. He never saw his children any longer...they were better off depending on Dante anyway...at least he would care for them without driving them away. Kadaj...drove everyone away. Soaked now, he just stood in the rain, not going much of anywhere, just standing, as though waiting for something that would never come. He'd been hurt once, here...and had run away...there was nothing to run from now.
Evandir spat out another curse as he angled wings - trying more now for a controlled landing rather than flight. Apparently the colder pocket of air extended farther than he'd thought - meaning he was getting absolutely -no- lift from below and with wet feathers, he was just too heavy to stay in the air without it. Blinking, he spotted someone down below and yelled, "Hey get out of the way!" Crap crap crap he didn't want to end up hitting someone!
Kadaj, however, was in the midst of his own despair, and he turned rather slowly when the other yelled, just in time to get bowled over by the other's fall and go down in a heap. It wasn't, by far, the hardest knock he'd ever received, but he had to gasp for air as it had been driven right out of him by the falling Evandir. Lying there for a moment, his senses had to attune to the here and now, something they were reluctant to do, and bright blue-green eyes blinked in a disoriented fashion. Who was this winged fellow anyway?
For just a moment, Evandir didn't move, a bit stunned. Then he blinked and scrambled off the other. "Sorry! I didn't mean ... but what the hell were you doing just -standing- there?" He didn't sound angry at the other, more surprised, and genuinely apologetic.
Kadaj frowned, shaking his head, pulling himself awkwardly to a sitting position. "It...it's all right. I should have been paying more attention. Why the hell were you trying to fly in the rain anyway?" A curious look crept into his eyes, and he watched those wings. How interesting...and very intriguing, he hadn't met very many with wings.
Evandir opened his mouth to protest the question, then shut it again and shook his head a bit. "Stupidity, I guess..." he admitted with a slight smile. "I -was- trying to get home faster but it wasn't working anyway." And it definitely wouldn't -now-. No way was he getting back into the air. Getting up to his feet, he folded wings with a little flip and offered a hand to the other. "I got sent on errands," he said, making a bit of a face. "What're you doing out in this mess?"
Kadaj took that hand, eyeing the connection for a moment...the first contact he'd had in a good long while. "I...was thinking." He said quietly, a wistful expression touching his features. "I don't have anything better to do, really...and lacked the motivation to go home." Home...it wasn't really a home, it was a cold, cheerless little place that reminded him of the past...he hated it.
"Thinking out in the rain 'cause you have nothing better to do...?" Evandir asked with a raised brow. "Must be pretty boring at home, hm..?" He wasn't trying to intrude, just making conversation of a sort. "Ah... sorry, I'm Evandir. Evandir Sparda."
Eyes went wide for a moment... "A Sparda..." He chuckled softly, "That would be my luck....and yes...boring, I suppose that's one word for it." He tilted his head, damp silver hair sliding into his eyes. "I'm...Kadaj." There was no last name to claim, after all, no family to attach to either.
Evandir blinked slighlty at that... what did being 'a Sparda' have to do with anything? Just who was this guy, anyway...? "D'you know someone else in my family or something..?" he asked carefully, more or less ignoring the other comment just for the moment.
Kadaj nodded slowly, "I do...or did, rather, I haven't spoken to him or seen him in quite some time. Dante...the infamous beginner of the now sprawling Sparda clan, from what I hear." The wistful note was back in his voice again. At least Dante was happy with his kin, they hadn't vanished on him.
Evandir blinked slighlty, eyes widening just a bit. "You know -Dante-?" he asked, eyeing the other. "He's ... erm. Well, sort of my uncle," he said. "My own dad is Vergil's son... " But he knew Dante, had spent a lot of time with him, and with his kids too. Indeed, it probably was more correct to call this family a 'clan'.
Kadaj nodded, "I knew Dante well once...he was the one I could run to...but he has little time for such things, and I daresay it isn't my place to trouble him." He arched a brow, "I had heard some rumor that Vergil had had children, I see that it is more than true now. Grandchildren too...my, how the time flies."
Evandir winced slightly at that and wondered if the other now thought he was just some kid or something. But then again, Kadaj didn't look all that old either. Maybe he was somewhat like Dante and Vergil and didn't age quickly or something. "Yea... well..." he started, looking faintly embarassed. Then he blinked and glanced up. "What d'you mean the one you could run to ..? You guys were close?"
Kadaj chuckled softly at the look. "Don't worry...I'm quite young still in comparison to him he has ever been my elder...though I'm a sight older than you are, not that it...matters." Age difference had never bothered him, Yazoo being a prime example. "And...yes, we were close...at least until Vergil returned. I've only spoken to Dante twice since." And the other's happiness...hurt somehow, with a brother that loved him so completely.
Evandir winced slighlty. "Ouch ... yea. They are sort of ... focused on each other," he admitted. Dante always had a little time for the younger members of the family - but it was generally just that ... a little. Unless he and Vergil happened to be fighting at the time. Wrinkling his nose a bit, Evandir glared up at the sky and mentally cursed the weather. "Well... seems like I'm walking home now. If you wanna do something besides stand around in the rain you could walk with me, Kadaj..."
Kadaj nodded, "I...wouldn't mind...and I don't blame Dante, were I he, I'm sure I would do similar...he is lucky...to have a brother who cares for him so deeply..." One that wouldn't just...run away from him, or if he did, would surely come back. Not like Yazoo. He grimaced to remember, yes...he'd always had to...fight Yazoo for every inch...for so clearly had his brother been convinced that what they did was wrong, that Mother would disapprove, and sometimes that seemed as though it was all that mattered...that Kadaj was meaningless in the larger scheme of things...and it seemed that he had been.
Evandir blinked slightly and then picked up the bag he'd dropped when he fell, poking at it for a minute to see if anything was totally ruined. Luckily ... most of it was still intact, and he turned back to the other. "You don't have any family?" he asked. "Or ... you do, and they're all gone..." This last was just a murmured guess, as he started walking.
Kadaj tensed slightly, "I...have a family...a mother...two brothers...and four children. They all...well..." He laughed softly, the sound not a very happy one as he walked alongside Evandir. "My mother is displeased with me, so I avoid her if I can...my brothers...one left me...the other I rarely see, and he would rather please mother...and my children have their own lives and seem far happier on the other side of the family." He continued quietly, the sad, faraway look creeping back into his eyes.
"Oh," Evandir said quietly, almost sorry he'd asked - if it put that sort of look into the other's eyes. Something ... almost drew him toward Kadaj, though he couldn't have said what if he was asked. " 'm sorry if I'm making things worse. Don't mean to," he said then, glancing over. "Hey... look, I'm late already anyway ... do you ... want to go anywhere? Do something besides walk around out here?"
He tilted his head, arching a brow with a slight smile. "Oh? What sort of thing might we do, I hope you realize its been quite sometime since I've done anything and...well...I had less than a normal upbringing. I grew up in a lab, you see, before I and my brothers broke our way out." Not a real childhood, they'd never had that.
"A lab..? Geez, that must've been ... rough," Evandir murmured. Then he frowned slightly and thought for a minute or two. "I dunno... I was thinking, just get something to eat maybe?" He shivered slightly, attempting to fluff feathers out. "Someplace warm."
"Warm would be nice." He agreed, "And...well...suffice to say it has been a very long time since someone has asked me to do anything." The attention of the young man was quite refreshing, in addition to flattering, but of course, half of it could likely just be pity. Though Kadaj had the face of a youth, he had pain enough for an entire lifetime.
Evandir nodded at that, with a quick little smile and thought for a moment. "Hm... you like sushi?" he asked, raising a brow. There was a little place not too far from here that wasn't expensive. He'd brought along some of his -own- money aside from what was needed to buy stuff, so he could afford it.
Kadaj's smile turned into a grin. "Love it. Haven't had it in some time, however." He remembered well the last time, had dragged Yazoo to it, one of the few things that he would do with his brother was go out to eat, as it always seemed to make him nervous to do anything in public beyond holding hands for short spans of time and do 'normal' brother things, but Kadaj had soaked it up like a sponge.
Evandir was instantly glad that he'd suggested this and smiled back with a quick nod. "Sounds good then! It's over this way," he said, not knowing if the other knew where it was or not. Once there, it was simple matter to get a small booth and order. Leaning back a bit, Evandir let wings spread out a bit, hoping they might dry somewhat...
Kadaj watched him, curiosity clear in his eyes. "So...might I ask where in your backline the wings came in? From what I understand neither Dante nor Vergil possesses a pair, at least...not in their human forms, and certainly not wings such as you have." Therefore, it must have bred in somewhere...
"Ah... dad's mother," Evandir replied easily. "She's some kind of warrior or knight or something, I think. They ... weren't together for long. I dunno exactly how things happened with that," he admitted with a little shrug. "But she had wings, and then my dad did too ... and now me, and two of my sisters."
Kadaj laughed softly, "Ever gifted with large broods, is the Sparda family....or so I have noted, beginning with the very first and continuing swiftly on down...But they are very beautiful...I'm envious." He admitted, leaning back in his chair and running hands through drying hair.
Evandir made a bit of a face at that, and nodded. "Yea... there's six of us," he murmured. "Sometimes, it's pretty easy to get lost in all of the siblings... but some of us have started going our own ways now. I'm still living at home, myself.." He didn't sound particularly happy about that, but he hadn't really found anywhere better yet. So... it was all right, for now.
"Don't worry...your time will come soon enough, value the fact that you do have family enough that cares to let you stay with them. Family is a priceless, dear thing." Kadaj frowned, "And remember, better six children loved than lesser amounts neglected. That's what...thirteen children betwixt Dante and Vergil now?"
Evandir's gaze went distant for a moment, trying to count them all up in his head. "I ... think so," he said after a moment. "It gets a little hard to keep track. You're right though... family is good." A little frown. "It sucks that all of yours is so ... crappy." And a blink. "Hey wait, how d'you know exactly how many kids there are?"
Well, here came the question. A gloved hand traced circles on the polished wood of the table. "Well, you see..." He began easily, "I helped create the first four, and I've kept track ever since...nice to keep track of the non-official in-laws, you know." The smile was somewhat melancholic.
For a moment, Evandir couldn't say anything, mouth dropping open as he attempted to process this. "You ... you what? I ... er." He cut himself off before he said something -really- dumb and flushed slightly. "I don't mean to be rude, I just. That means we're related... sort of." Because if Kadaj was talking about Dante's children then they weren't.... technically.
"Not...really." He said softly, "I'm no part of your family." As much as he might have wished to be...but by the time that Kadaj would have accepted everything Dante could give him...Vergil was back, and there was nothing at all left for Kadaj, after all. "Though I might have been the other half of conception for Dante's children...it doesn't mean I'm family. I make Vergil somewhat antsy, that much I know...and I don't want to cause Dante any trouble...he helped me when I needed it most, and the least I could do is not be a bother."
Evandir frowned at that, though, and shook his head. Somehow, it didn't seem right to him... Kadaj obviously cared a lot about family and having someone to hold onto. He could understand not wanting to interfere with the infamous twins but... "Well. At the least you're still friends with Dante, even if you don't talk. And there's nothing that says we can't be friends too. Right?"
The smile brightened at that, and he nodded. "I'd like that." He murmured, "I've never been all that good at making friends...I suppose that's my own fault though, I can be...unpleasant at times, and I used to be one arrogant son of a b***h." He'd been taken down a notch, however...and now it was clear he'd developed a certain disdain for Jenova as well.
Evandir smiled at that and nodded slightly. "From what I hear... Vergil's like that too," he said, looking around almost as if it was a secret of some kind. Not that it was, not at -all-. Everyone in the family knew just how antisocial Vergil could be. Moving slightly, Evandir put a hand atop Kadaj's and tilted head with a smile. "It's not all that hard to make friends..."

(( Continuing Evandir/Kadaj logs! ))
After that evening, Evandir was kept busy for a little while with other things. But ... after nearly a week, he wondered idly what Kadaj might be up to - and he had nothing else to do. So he left the house and headed over toward Kadaj's place. Today ... it was actually nice outside, so he flew - getting there in a matter of moments. Then he landed, carefully, and knocked on the door.
Kadaj had been up to very little. He really didn't know where Evandir lived, and he really didn't expect the other...his new friend, to spend all that much time with him regardless...Kadaj felt he could trust no one, and it put him in a despondent state. Sometimes he failed to eat during his depression, his slight body not faring well when he was upset. Truthfully...he wished he could have at least made a point to have another opportunity to see Evandir...he liked the young man...quite a lot, what was it about the Spardas that made them so approachable? Well...most of them anyway. Today, he might want to eat...as he had failed to do so all week...but he had forgotten yet again...and suddenly, he felt the world spinning...was there a knock at the door? Attempting to rise, he tripped and fell as his world went black. Ah, s**t.
Listening for the other to come closer, Evandir frowned as he heard a sort of thud from the other side of the door. What the..? "Kadaj?" he called, then knocked again and called louder. When there was no answer, he frowned and tested the door - only to find it open. Pushing that door, he peeked inside and spat out a curse. "Kadaj!" Darting into the room, he knelt down and pulled the other up just a bit, peering at him - trying to determine what was -wrong-.
It was a moment before he came to...realizing that someone was calling his name. "Nnn?" It was inquiring and not all there, blinking repeatedly before his eyes focused. "E-Evandir?" Clearly he was startled to see the other, but pleased in the same moment. "I'm sorry...I seem to have fallen over..." He murmured, knowing in truth what had happened.
"Fallen -over-?" Evandir echoed, brows furrowing. "Looks t'me like you were passed out in the middle of the floor. Did something happen..?" Gods, he'd been worried for a minute there - though he couldn't have said precisely -why-.
Kadaj bit his lip, "S'alright...it just happens sometimes..." He murmured, ducking his head a bit. It shouldn't matter, really, he always remembered to eat a bit of something after, to tell true, and then things were fine...until he forgot again.
Evandir shook his head at that. "Things like that don't 'just happen'," he insisted, shifting just a bit to get into a more comfortable position. "And I'm not letting you up 'til you talk. What's going on ... are you sick or something?" He knew that Dante would want to know if it was something like that... not to mention he'd help, if he could.
Kadaj also shook his head, indicating that such was not the case. "N-no...sometimes I just...I forget to eat." He confessed, though it was clear that...if he passed out on a semi-regular basis, then it wasn't just 'sometimes'...if Kadaj had been anything less than a Remnant, he would probably have seriously damaged his health.
At that, Evandir felt rather like smacking himself in the forehead. Good gods... he should have come by here sooner. But he hadn't known that Kadaj was that bad off. Sighing softly, he brushed hair away from the other's face. "And ... why is that?"
"I...if I..." Kadaj glanced down. "I guess...because I don't honestly...care." He said softly, "It isn't as though I have some sort of reason to." There was no one...no one to live for, as he once had, life was empty...
Evandir made a little noise at that, and blinked at the other. "Well if you don't care, did you ever think someone -else- might...? What if you just... kept forgetting and you ended up dead? How d'you Dante might feel ... or ... me?"
Kadaj made a soft, almost upset sort of sound. "I...no...I didn't." He murmured. "I just...supposed...that no one would notice if I just...disappeared." Though his voice was quiet, it was obvious that he truly believed the words. "I honestly...didn't think you would come back either."
Evandir blinked, opened his mouth, then shut it, and sighed softly. Gods... what had -happened- to Kadaj in his past to make him think like this? "Why would you think that, Kadaj..? There are still people who care about you..." Then he frowned. "Wait, before you answer. Is there any food here? You should eat -something- so you don't end up passing out on me again."
Kadaj again shook his head, now that he thought about it. "I...rarely keep things here, mostly I go out...and when I think about it...I eat...it's better than being here, and I'm amongst people, even if none of them speak to me." It was just the way he was, he needed contact and company, and the hubbub of people...was better than naught.
Evandir muttered something under his breath at that and shook his head. "A'right... then you just wait -here- for a few minutes, ok?" he said, moving to get the other onto the couch. Then, without even waiting for an answer, he was out the door and gone. A few minutes later, though ...he was back with, of all things, pizza. It seemed the Sparda reputation for liking such had caused quite a few pizza places to pop up nearby. And -any- member of the family that came in could generally get food on Dante's 'credit'.
Kadaj eyed the pizza, and then smiled, a soft laugh escaping him. "Pizza...I should have known, some genes never leave the family lines." But it was clear that he was grateful all the same...it had been a long time since he'd had a friend willing to do...well...anything at all for him.
"Hey. It was the closest and fastest," Evandir replied with a mock pout. Padding over, he sat down beside the other and dropped said pizza into his lap. "Eat... " he murmured. "Then you can answer my probing and intrusive questions." He smiled though, glad that he could cheer the other up - even if just a little.
Kadaj did indeed eat, and once he did, his body seemed to remember readily enough that he was hungry, and quite swiftly he had polished off a good portion of the pizza, setting it aside for now, knowing that if he ate much more he'd be ill. "Thank you..." He murmured, eyes lidding a moment.
Evandir smiled at that and nodded. "Least I could do. I could have dragged you -out- somewhere to get food, but ... didn't think you would want to talk about things in a public place." He glanced over, eyes lidding a bit... wondering if his guess had been correct.
Kadaj made a face, "Not...not really, no...thank you again..." He murmured, tilting his head to watch the other, an odd little smile touching his lips. "And the least I could do for your kindness is...to...tell you more about...why I am who I am." Evandir nodded slowly at that, watching the other. "I'd like that... at the least, I might know when to come check on you to make sure you're gonna eat," he murmured, only half-teasing.
Kadaj laughed softly, "Come sit with me then." He invited, shifting to pat the seat next to him with his hand. "And I'll tell you about why I live by myself now..." It hadn't used to be that way, he'd always had Yazoo, and even if the other was stubborn, purposefully oblivious and oft-cold...he had loved Kadaj...that much was true.
