The colder season had been very eventful for the crazed stallion, and as he trudged through the frosty snow, he was still in disbelief at how his life was molding, and how it was becoming.. more normal. He now had 'friends', and he had also met more sides to his family that existed. He learned that there were others out there who wanted to be around him, and it was an incredible discovery! His mind was becoming more stable and controlled, and his anxieties were not nearly as bad as they used to be. He only hoped that the happiness he felt would continue on in this lucky streak, and that he would continue to grow in his ever-changing life.

With a large yawn, Dante realized that the sun was noonish in the sky now, and that he had woken up rather late that morning. He was also sleeping better, and sleeping was something he almost never did in the beginning span of his life.

Snow was something he was starting to enjoy day by day now, especially since he had met a mare who was completely devoted to the snow. Everytime he walked through the chilly wonderland he thought of that white mare, and how kind she was to his crazy personality.

With a flick of his hair, Dante stomped forward under the comfortable conditions, wondering what else was going on in the world around him, and what else he had missed. He had been so self absorbed.. that he needed to venture out and see how everyone else was doing. He HAD checked up on his mother, sister, and he had even met his grandmother.. but his brother was still a task he needed to complete!

Eventful was a rather simple way to put it as the events that had come and gone had not only bombarded the stallion with both physical and emotional pain but it had also brought upon an unwanted and drastic event that had been caused by his darkened desires and anger concerning the matter that his own father had won over the very mare who he loved. But through the brawl with his own father, Ezriel had learned the truth and reality of Reaper- the mysterious figure that had once haunted their thoughts and dreams when he and his siblings were but only foals. Somehow Reaper just had to have met Nimue and found a connection with the obscure yet captivating mare and claimed her as his own. Damn! He was on a streak of bad luck!

But that was only the begining.

Because of that blind rage and need, Ezriel found himself to become consumed by his emotions and wants and had seduced an innocent mare. He was furious with himself and tried to keep his distance after the ordeal but, to make matters worse, it seemed that the fates and spirits hated him so much that he had managed to get the mare, Eponine, pregnant. Needless to say, Ezriel was the father of two foals: A filly named Cassiel and a colt named Rue.

After the foals had come out from their baskets and greeted the world, Ezriel had left with Rue. Why? Well for some reason he felt that he couldn't abandon the poor colt and he did promise to at least try and visit with Cassiel but even he found it unlikely. Somehow he couldn't bear the thought of having to stare into his own daughters eyes since it was obvious that she was angry with both he and Eponine since the two had separated and were vastly different than other parents. And besides that- Ezriel wanted to be alone.

Nimue was gone. Gone away with his own father as the pale, white stallion was left alone with his only company the demon within and Rue.

Oh damnit! He was alone with Rue and stuck with him wasn't he? Ezriel could only scorn to himself and make a note that he'd better learn how to control his son- the colt was a spitefire and a bundle of energy; a surprising personality that Ezriel didn't even expect nor imagine his own flesh and blood to ever have.

Both father and son had wandered for little over an hour as the old snow underhoof crunched. The mind of the stallion was isolated as his void-less orbs narrowed ahead and his spaded, spiked tail flicked behind him. So many emotions and thoughts restlessly toiled within his mind, often causing him to snort or flare his nostrils as a wreath of mist emitted and encircled his muzzle. He had remained quite except for when he ordered the colt to stop doing something that annoyed him or asking a million questions. It wasn't that he didn't like Rue- it was moreso that Ezriel was still trying to grasp how to be a parent.

He was learning that it wasn't easy.

"Rue wants to know why Daddy has- has spikey things on him? Rue wants to know how Daddy got his eyes? Or why is the sky bluuue? Rue wants to play a game! Yush! No! Rue's hungry! Daddy can Rue eat? Daddy Rue wants to find his pet cloud cuz he went missing..." Little Rue flicked his ears as he gave a lopsided smile, prancing around his father and butting his head against Ezrie's legs and giving a slobbery kiss or two.

Even then he could feel his body tense slightly and his eyes suddenly lock upon his son. Why all of the damn questions? Why so many! He grumbled, biting his lower lip as his ears flicked back. Ezriel intook a deep breath and tried not to get angry as he was working on the skills that Eponine had so graciously tried to help him with knowing that the stallion would get nowhere if he had a temper and yelled.

"Rue," his jowls clenched, teeth grinding together as he exhaled a deep breath from his nostrils. Slowly, slowly. "Why...don't we just take a damn break and eat something then if you're hungry, okay?"

There was some tough love in that sentence but it was an improvement. Again, Ezriel still had a lot to learn.

The similar void-less orbs of the small colt seemed to light up as he grinned. "BREAAAAK!" And without warning Rue began to run off in front of him leaving Ezriel staring wide eyed and angry.

"What the hell? Rue!" He called out, suddenly galloping after him.

This was going to be a loooooong day!

Dante thought he was drunk for a moment. His eyes saw a mini Ezriel running in the distance, and then his eyes also saw Ezriel chasing after the little Ezriel. Ezriel looked as though he was yelling, and the little colt was laughing.

........................................ ............ ..... ... .

Taking in a deep breath, Dante wondered if his happiness was driving him mad! But, before he could try and figure out his mental state, he heard the voices of the specks in front of him, since apparently they were real. It couldn't be.. Was Ezriel seriously there?! What luck! He hadn't seen his brother in ages! Good, he could finally chat with him, and see how things were! That was the right thing to do with family, and Dante wanted to start fresh and relearn things about his brother!

Dante then increased his own speed, and he galloped until he was finally approaching the two Ezriels'. Wait.. two Ezriels? Ok, his brother obviously had some explaining to do! Dante was starting to feel dizzy as he looked at the two mirror images, and he shook his head before speaking.

"Hey, Ezriel!" he then yelled, while stopping and collecting his breath. "What's up, brother! And.. why is there another one of you?" Dante then shot the young colt a glance, before brining his panting face back on his brother's. "You.. what....no way.."

Dante quickly took a step back, and he shifted his weight on his back legs. If Dante's calculations were correct, this 'colt' was Ezriel's son. But how the hell could that be possible? Maybe Ezriel was just watching this colt? That wouldn't make sense either, since the colt looked absolutely identical to him. "Oh man, Ezriel. It looks to me like you got a lot to tell me.." with a raised brow, Dante walked closer to his brother, as if making sure it was really him. Dante was known to be paranoid, so it was no surprise he was taking the situation in so strangely. "So.. what's new with you?" He then said, almost too bluntly.

Dante's speech was most certainly better, but his reactions.. were still the same!

With Ezriel chasing behind him and playing with him, Rue giggled with glee as he darted quickly through the snow. He couldn't help but make his own sound effects and noises as it seemed that it was all but a game between father and son. Rue's ears flicked as his maw gaped open, tongue somewhat lolling out of his mouth as he raced onwards. "NEEEEROOOOOM! ZOOOOM! WOOOOOOSH!" The colt exclaimed, narrowing his orbs of purest black as he skidded and slid upon the snows ice patches and slick surfaces hidden upon the ground.

His similar crimson mane just like his fathers whisped against the light breeze as he was approaching something large and- wait? Who was that! Rue seemed to gasp to himself as he continued to run forwards not knowing what to do. While the battle between logic was slow, the small colt happened to trip and sprawl out on his stomach and the foce of thrust caused him to slide closer towards the unfamiliar soquili or 'big thing' as he called them.

"WEEEEEE!" Rue squealed as he skidded through the snow and slowly came to a halt a length or two away from the very large and strange stallion.

Snapping his head upwards, Rue simply looked up towards him with wide eyes and a slightly gaping maw.

Ezriel grumbled to himself as he ran, ran as fast as he could after his runaway son. He cursed under his breath and snorted, ears flicking back as he was slowly gaining on Rue. How? How did his son have so much damn energy! The stallion had to keep up but it seemed that Rue rejuvinated and replenished his stamina within the blink of an eye leaving Ezriel to struggle to keep him occupied and under control. Those similar orbs of purest black narrowed, locking upon his son as he slid into the snow close towards Dante-

Wait.

What!

Just as shocked as he was to acutally think he saw his brother, Ezriel's ears perked upwards as his brother began to call out to him. At first he felt as if he couldn't talk and his tongue felt heavy- right as he tried to will himself to speak a rush of emotions seemed to swallow him but Ezriel fought back. As he slowed down, the stallino shook his head and snorted.

"Dante?" He called out, that typical low tone ever present along with that all to familiar reserved notion in his speech somewhat lacked. "Dante! How the hell are you!"

It felt strange but comforting. How long had it been since he had seen his own brother? The very thought seemed to cause his stomach to knot up slightly in discomfort. Ezriel could only be sure that it had been too long and he needed to keep connected with his family more. Though he wouldn't quite admit it, he had changed and that lone nature and dark streak had diluted. Slowly the stallion was begining to understand himself and his inner balance a bit better yet it was still a long road.

Ezriel approached slowly, catching his breath as his thick locks of crimson waved from out of his face and behind him as he glanced towards the ground where Rue laid buried slightly and still in awe at his brother. It seemed that already Dante was speculating something and knew that something wasn't right on account of his 'mini' self settled upon the ground and now attempting to absent mindedly gnaw at stray locks of mane. In the midsts of Dante's realization, Ezriel sighed and grumbled, glancing away and looking elsewhere as his posture stiffened slightly.

"A lot of s**t has happened lately," he admitted, somewhat gruffly as the whole story of events and timeline seemed to suddenly flash within his mind.

He could feel himself cringe and wince slightly as even the fleshy pink scars that hinted their existance alongside his pale white coat kept themselves as a reminder of the brawl between father and son. "Are you sure you have the time to hear about it? There's no abridged version I'm afraid."

Rue wobbled up onto his hooves as he blinked and still continued to stare at Dante, then to his father, then back to Dante. His little brows knitted with a quizzical display as he gave a lopsided grin and tilted his head. "Rue is Rue! Who is big thing? And how does big thing know Rue's daddy?" Obviously the little colt was thinking outloud and it could be assumed that he was a little- well, different.

Somehow the colt fell silent for a few moments until he gasped, and stared up towards Dante in all seriousness.

"Are you Rue's conscience?"

Gritting his jowls slightly as the stallion was sure that he couldn't get out of this one just like he couldn't evade Nimue after she had found out, Ezriel found his posture to become tense and rigid as he intook a deep breath.

"Dante- this is my son...Rue."

Dante could sense the tiredness in his brother's voice, and he had no doubt that what he was going through was.. crazy. "I've been fine, well, good actually. But don't worry about me," he then rolled his eyes on the Rue-child, who was bouncing around his father. ".. I think I'd rather hear more about you."

So Rue was his son. Mini-Ezriel was really his son. "Who is this child's mother? Do I know her? How many kids did you have?" The questions started rolling out, and Dante took a breath before asking more. "You.. your a dad, and, you slept with a mare?" He hushed his voice slightly, knowing that the colt didn't need to hear that kind of talk. Dante was surprised, he could never see his brother doing that sort of thing. Sex was so animalistic, wasn't it? But maybe he was surprised because he himself was still afraid of sex itself? Either way, the fact alone was shocking enough.

"I want to hear everything, Ezriel." he then said, with a solemn nod. He then made his way closer to the colt, and looked into his piercing black eyes. "He really looks just like you, its amazing. Its kinda cute, actually." He had learned what the word 'cute' meant, and now was the perfect opportunity to use it. "Have you told mom yet? Or does.. even Reaper know?" What would Ezriel having a child mean? Would things change in the family?

"I really have been behind on times, haven't I?" Dante then lowered his head to stare at the colt again, before smiling widely. "I'm not your conscience, Rue. I guess.. I'm your uncle? But you can just call me Dante. Its nice to meet you, little one." His voice was soft, and after he confronted the child he brought his eyes back on his brother. "So." He wanted to be sympathetic, and hopefully his brother knew he was there for him, through thick and thin.

A small fret that had long embedded itself within his mind seemed to dissapate after Dante had spoken that he was well. Certainly that in itself was a relief knowing that his brother was getting better- he could see it and his brothers voice and appearance seemed a little brighter. The stallion managed to give a small smile as a sigh exhaled from out of his nostrils.

"It's been a hell of a long time since I've seen you, Dante. I'm glad things are getting better- you seem to have a bit more confidence. I like it." For the moment the tension built up within his own posture seemed to loosen as Ezriel shifted slightly with crimson brows furrowed slightly. Oh- sleeping with a mare wasn't the right word. Even mentioning it still made him frustrated and angry at himself while that horrid pain seemed to return causing him to wince slightly but quickly keeping it hidden from others.

"I never meant to sleep with her," he admitted rather low, his voice reserved and worn. "I-It just happened out of anger...it happened all becuase I fell in love with a mare but it seemed that when...when Reaper met her he decided that he wanted her for his damn self since she was just like him- she was cast out of heaven and committed a sin just as he did and he felt...damnit he connected with her and found someone in this ******** world that he could relate to," he grimmaced, staring elsewhere for several moments as he flared his nostrils and pawed idley at the ground. He couldn't stop the memories and the recollections from all of the damn-tastic events and Ezriel couldn't help but cringe and feel as if a great stone was embedded within his own stomach. It still was painful to talk about and he feared that it would never be easy for quite a while.

"Dad fought me for her- we...nearly killed each other but I just- I couldn't ******** win and I still have the scars from it," he continued, swaying his head to his shoulder where the largest of the wounds was caused by the largerst of his fathers horns, spearing through him and causing immense pain as even now he still sometimes walked with a limp as his shoulder became so painful. "The victor...he won Nimue," Ezriel's voice choked slightly, teeth grinding as he breathed through his clenched jowls.

"I lost and I'm damn sure that if I try to reclaim him that I'll have to fight again...I-I," crimson brows furrowed slightly as he lowered his head. "I lost her."

He tried to regain himself, Ezriel tried to stay strong but those void-less orbs began to become glassy with the tears that so desperately sought to fall from his eys and roll down his pale cheeks. No. He wouldn't let them. The stallion stiffened his posture as he tried not to show the hurt and pain he had endured but Ezriel knew that it wasn't working very well and continued onward with the explanation.

"After I staggered back to mom and Glamrock, I...found this mare. I didn't really care for her but- hell, she took interest in me and didn't even get the ******** away when she saw me and just...treated me like I was normal-normal just like Nimue did. Somehow we began talking, somehow I just- we..I-I just found myself with her and that next morning I felt like s**t." Those pale ears flicked back as he shook his head, glancing down towards Rue as he shrugged his shoulders.

"I was blinded by damn rage and frustration, anger...I never meant to hurt her..." he quitely trailed off, managing to give a small, displaced smile with a new change of subject.

"Yeah- He really does." For a moment Ezriel grimmaced. Oh no- he hadn't even thought about how their mother woud react! What would she say? Would she think that he had acted just like-like Reaper? The stallion bit down his lower lip. "I'm going to tell her- I just don't know how. As for Reaper...I'm sure sooner or later he'll find out, I'm damn positive he will."

Rue on the other hand was occupied with his fathers mane that whisped about with the passing breeze, attempting to snap his jaws upon it and tug at the strands that he had successfully caught. But as Dante lowered his head, the little colt snapped his head in his direction with a wide stare and a slightly gaping maw along with a little drool that seeped from the side of his maw.

This was his uncle? Not his conscience? Ooooh!

Those void-less orbs of purest black narrowed as his small crimson brows knitted slightly somewhat in awe. Staring at Dante's hooves that were thick with hair, towards the spikes upon his back and- were those wings on his head? No-he couldn't be an uncle! Or his conscience! The large big-thing before him had to be something more important and greater, right? The wheels in his small head were turning, he could hear that 'click-click-click' and waited, giving a serious look for several moments as he staggered on his feet and tried to look above his head.

"Uncawl Dahhntaaaay- Rue dun believe you," Rue stated as a matter of fact as he squinted his eyes.

Coming closer, Rue lightly clamped his tiny maw around Dante's locks as he tugged slightly and gave a lopsided smile, wide and broad as he tilted his head ever so slightly. "Rue say-says that you're uncawl not an...not an uncaawl. Rue knows youre an ahngaaaahl cuz you have wing-a-lings on your head!" After his first realization, the small colt gasped.

"WHERE ARE THE WINGS ON YOUR BACK AHNGAL? Why can't Rue see them!"

For a moment Ezriel was- well, a little dumbfounded. He wasn't sure what to say and after Eponine had been so helpful as to give him a crash course in what parenting 'should' be like, the stallion gritted his teeth and intook a deep breath and leaned down to nuzzle the confused, energetic and rather outspoken colt and gave a nipt at his mane.

"You can't see them because...," oh no- what was he suppose to say? Somehow from growing up he didn't want to be cruel, neglectant or smother the small, daydreaming and obscure thinking colts imagination and outlook all in one blow or constantly. Although Ezriel's view of the world weren't all that pleasant nor uplifting he wanted his son to have a better life than he did and perhaps even though he looked like his father little Rue would be treated better and 'normal' since he had no spikes nor a devil tail.

Ezriel wanted the best for his son even if he was a bit of a pain in the a** with nonstop energy, questions and demands to play. Okay- so Rue wasn't all that bad.

Something clicked and the stallion managed to give a small, small chuckle. "Because they're invisible- not all angels can show their wings. Right Dante?"

The story was devastating, and Dante was biting his lip as he listened to his brother talk. ******** Reaper, he always had to go and ruin everyone's life. "I am so sorry, Ezriel. I wish I knew, and I wish I was there.." he shook his head for a moment, feeling selfish that he was too busy dealing with his own self issues. "I can't believe dad won, he is such a jerk..." All of the fears that Dante had of Ezriel joining dad, were all lost, since it seemed at this point that situation would be impossible. Ezriel, from the sound of his voice, was still broken from the entire experience. Dante would probably be feeling the same if he were him...

The grey stallion thought carefully of what to say to his brother, and after a few moments, he walked over to Ezriel's side and nudged him warmly. "You know, there is a lot of bad s**t that happens in life. I used to think that our birth was bad, but you know? Maybe having an affair with that one mare isn't as terrible as you think." Dante then brought his eyes on Rue, who was tugging at Ezriel's mane. "You wouldn't have Rue, and your other daughter. I think mom will be happy for you, because birth is happy, Ezriel. I know I was shocked at first, but that's only because I haven't seen you. I.. I don't think you should compare yourself to dad, for being with that mare." he brought his eyes back to Ezriel's, and smiled once again. "You will never be at his level, and you should know that fully well. Look at what a good father you are being already. Do remember our childhood? It was awful! Look at how happy Rue is?"

Things were probably a mess at Ezriel's current moment in life, but Dante didn't think it would stay that way. "After you calm down, and after you ignore father, I think you should go back to that mare that you stayed with, and show her some respect, you know? Yes it will be awkward at first glance, but she deserves it." Dante then glided his eyes to Rue, and then back to Ezriel. "He deserves that, too."

It felt strange for Dante to be giving so much advice, but he had learned so much positivity from his grandmother, that he knew it was his time to help his brother. "Plus, if you need help at all, I am here you know. I got nothing to do." With a light chuckle, he then made his way over to Rue, who had asked him a very specific yet silly question. In response, he could only agree with his brother, and kindly nod. "I can't see my wings, but I don't mind, Rue! We don't all need wings." He then gave Rue a head-pat with his own head, and he chuckled at the colt's energy. "Rue, you are going to be a good boy when you grow up. I am sure you will make us all proud!"

Although the situation was completely complex, Dante felt such warmth by being around his brother and his son. He found the experience so peaceful and wonderful, and he wished his brother would view it that way as well. "I think once everything calms down, you will be able to find yourself in this experience, Ezriel. Father probably wants you to be acting this way, just how he wanted me to feel as terrible as I used to. So don't let him win like that!" What could Dante say, they were a competitive family!

The pale stallion shook his head, mustering up a minute smile as best he could. "I didn't have time to tell anyone- I...just didn't want to tell anyone at all," he admitted, his pale ears flicking slightly as he exhaled a deep breath from out of his nostrils- a wreath of mist dissapating into the air. In a way, Ezriel was still angered, frustrated and emotionally pained inside at the loss of Nimue but, at the same time, after understanding what their father went through and what hell he endured seemed to numb a fragment of the pain. Somehow it didn't make sense, even to him, but- damn, it was still confusing!

His eyes were barely open, his stare focused elsewhere and somewhat off into the distance as he bit his lower lip. Ezriel shook his head, mumbling slightly. "It- wasn't even an affair, Dante. It was a mistake- my mistake." The stallion grimmaced, flicking his tail behind him as his jowls clenched slightly and that horrible feeling seemed to sink in deeper and it felt that the reassurance wasn't quite putting his mixed emotions at ease.

"I just- don't want mom to think that I'm liked him and already I feel that I've sunk so- so ******** low." For a moment he stared towards the little colt, shrugging. "He gets it from Eponine- though I don't have a clue in hell where his energy comes from. It never goes away and he's like this all the time."

"No." Ezriel shook his head, chuckling low in dibelief. He knew his brother was being supportive and trying to help him sort out this damn mess that he had found himself in but, still, that was out of the question. "I ruined- s**t, I ruined her life and there's no way I can stay with her. I-I don't love her and my daughter, Cassiel hates both myself and Eponine because she knows there is no love between Eponine and I and that we're not a family. Cassiel feels...unwanted and thinks of herself as a mistake while Rue lives day to day in fantasy, in bliss and obscure reality. I'm sure as hell not going to abandon Rue since he wanted to come with me but- if I can't have Nimue than I'd rather be alone." Again he shook his head, leveling his eyes with his brothers. "Rue...never saw Eponine. The first mare he saw when he was out of his basket was- was Nimue the last time I saw her just a few days after he attacked me. He's-" How was he to put this?

It seemed that things were much more complex.

"He thinks Nimue is his mother."

It was tough- knowing that the one his own son thought his own mother was Nimue. Why? Was this another joke forged by the damn gods and fates? Just damn-tastic! Could it be any worse?

With his brother offered help, Ezriel relaxed slightly and nodded his head. "Thanks, Dante. I'm sure I'll need help- I just...don't know where to start."

The small colt let a wide spead, lopsided grin sweep across his maw as he looked up towards Dante. Rue couldn't help but wriggle in the snow as he was given a head-pat and tried to playfully n** ad gnaw upon Dantes own long, elegant locks. "Teee-heee-eee," Rue giggled as his crimson tailed swished with pure zest behind him. It seemed to make sense- not all angels needed wings!

"Rue thinks Daaawntaaaay is an aaaaahngal even without wing-a-lings!" Rue exclaimed, bouncing up and down as he gave a tugged at his uncles mane.

Even the praise which Dante filled Rue's ears with caused the colt to give a lopsided smile and a fervent nod of his head, maw ajar as his tongue seemed to loll from out of the side of his mouth rather excited and wound up with energy. "YUSH! Rue will a be good boy! Rue make Daaawntaaay an Daaaaaddy proud! Rue be will strong jus like daddy an Daaawntay!"

Even with emphasis, Rue stomped his hooves in the snow and nickered as his small, crimson mane whisped about within the air. "Rue good boy!"

Yes- somehow the small colt saw himself one day being just as large in stature and strong as his father. Although he lacked spikes and a devil tail, he would be just like his father! The small colt always stayed near his father, wanting to be just like him and immitated him in attempt to be exactly like his fatherly figure. Rue was full of life, full of energy and was destined to live within his surreal, obscure yet plesant world that no one could break and everyone was invited.

Oh yes.

Rue seemed to often combine reality and fantasy quite often but he never faultered nor stumbled with sadness.

He couldn't be broken.

Ezriel chuckled softly, leaning down to nudge his son tenderly as he gave a small nod. "I won't let him win," the stallion replied as he focused upon his brother. "I just...need help."

It was frustrating for Dante that his brother saw now good in the situation, but it was to be expected. Dante never used to think like that either, and it wasn't until he 'saw the light' when he finally looked at things differently. "Whether it was a mistake or not, it happened.." Dante then added, while looking at the ground uncomfortably. "I just don't see why you are beating yourself up over it, it is not the end of the world, you are stronger then this."

Dante didn't mean to sound so blunt, but at this point, he was just worried!

"Like I already said, I highly doubt mom would think that at all. She knows who you and I am, so why would she think any differently? You haven't changed, Ezriel. Not even from this situation, you are Ezriel, a completely different entity from Reaper." Of course that fact was obvious, but sometimes the obvious needed to be pointed out for the sake of inner realization. "Mom would probably want to help, that's all."

The last thing his brother spoke of really shocked Dante, and it explained as to why his brother was again so broken. Having a son who had a confusion about his mother? That was no good, no good at all. Dante now could understand where some of this stress came from. "Do you think you will ever tell Rue, about the truth and everything? I understand that he is young, but I was always happy that mom told us the truth, and that nothing was hidden to us." With a shrug, the stallion sighed once again before shaking his head. "But then again, who wants to hurt their child like that..."

Damn, things were really complicated, weren't they?

"Do you have a next plan of action or anything?" he then asked, while raising his eyes to his brother again. "How are you going to confront father, or Nimue? I don't even know if its a good idea to even see them." Ezriel would probably lose himself even more, which wouldn't be good.

Before the stallion could think about it some more, his attention was shifted to Rue again, and he smiled warmly at the colt. "You want to be strong? Well, you will have to train a lot, and be nice and confident like your dad. Once you grow older, you will understand how it all works." He then watched Rue pounce around energetically, and he could only keep smiling, despite the horrible realities around them. "I can't help but smile at that boy." he then said, with a light head nod. "At least you got something keeping you up when your down. But anyway.. what help do you need?" He looked back towards his brother, as if putting a game face on.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 02, 2008 12:43 am

Conflicting emotions, inner pain and a severed heart had left the stallion unable to think clearly, to distinguish the reality of things from the surreal depictions and falsified predictions that came without invitation. But somehow even throughout the darkness harnessed within his own thoughts, within his lack of unable to see the whole picture, Ezriels pale ears flickered slightly as his crimson brows knitted. He damn knew very well that what had happened had happened- he couldn't change it nor could anyone. And Dante was right; Ezriel had to stop beating himself over it and he was much stronger than this, perhaps sometimes a bit too strong for his own good.

The stallion exhaled another deep breath through his nostrils as he nodded his head.

Why was he so worried and so pent up and out of shape thinking that his own mother, Korrine, would think of him any less? When he was nursed back to health back in Glamrocks herd, Ezriel had told his mother everything that happened and hadn't skimmed or slipped to mention any detail. He had told his mother everything- every thought, ever feeling and ever pain that he suffered! Again Dante was right and Ezriel nodded his head to himself.

He was different than Reaper but, then again, he too suffered the same 'curse' because of his father and that voice- that haunting, chilling voice of the demons within never fully departed although he had learned how to control them. Yes- it was easy to say that Ezriel was a different entity than his father but even so there were many things that seemed so smiliar, so strikingly similar, between both father and son. The stallion pursed his lips as his spaded, spiked tail swayed once, then twice behind him. And what about his mother? Ezriel was certain now that she wouldn't cast him out from her very presence and, knowing his mothers compassion and kindness, he wa sure that she would want to help.

Help.

That's what he felt he needed- just enough to get him up on his feet since he never did like having people do things for him. The stallion still held that independence streak in him but often succumbed to the need of asking for help when it was required. And certainly now, more than ever, he needed it.

Ezriel shifted slightly as his mind mulled over the pertaining question that seemed a bit of a stick mess as his brows knitted and lips pursed slightly.

Oh yes.

The fact that the first mare he saw happened to be Nimue had left the young colt sure as day that Nimue was his mother. It seemed that he had imprinted on her and even as her colors were rather similar to Ezriels- why it seemed that the missing piece of the puzzle was recovered and the whole picture was clear! Being that neither Rue nor his daughter, Cassiel, even had a trace of blue on them the young colt was certain that Nimue was without a doubt their mother compared to Eponine whose whole appearance was an icy, cold blue.

Hmm- no blue and only reds, white and blacks? It made sense to Rue!

Ezriel nodded his head. "I will- I just..need to find a good time and soon. Perhaps when things settle down a bit. I sure as hell don't want to keep him in the dark or be dishonest with him- that would be a goddamn mistake to make." He couldn't agree more. He too was glad that their own mother had told them about the truth of what had happened to her and why they lacked a father figure and, as for Ezriel, he was certain that he would have to do the same.

Although that didn't mean that it wouldn't hurt in the process.

The next question caught him unprepared, horribley unprepared! Ezriel shook his head and glanced towards his brother with a frown curled slightly upon his maw.

"I don't have a clue in hell of what my next plan of action is. All I know if that sooner or later Reaper will find me- he's always ******** watching us and I'm sure that he may very well take interest in Rue. I'll face that dilema when it comes I guess." His voice was low, still reserved but slowly rekindling the strength that he had built up within its tone. Ezriel needed to re-build himself, slow and steady, and he knew it would take a while. But somehow he could only hope that with help the process would be much quicker.

Rue managed to gasp, his body wriggling and bouncing with a lack of control as he giggled and nickered, bobbing his head up and down as he listened on edge to every single word that Dante spoke. He'd have to train! He'd have to be nice, confident just like Daddy! He could do this!

"Rue will- will it do!" Oh wait- no, that wasn't right, was it? Little crimson brows furrowed as those void-less orbs, an exact replicas of his fathers, blinked once, twice, three times and then for a fourth as he shifted his hooves within the snow. Within a matter of moments, the colt nodded his head and stomped a hoof into the snow.

"RUE WILL DO IT!" He exclaimed with pure excitement and joy. "Rue will be like daddy and be unstop-unstoppabababel!"

A little unsteady and jostled in his speech but serious none the less.

The small colt released his grip from Dante's mane and leapt back towards his father, butting his head against Ezriel's legs and snapping his jaws at the fluttering, wisps of crimson mane. With some strands clamed within his maw, the colt nuzzled and gave a somewhat slobbery kiss at his fathers leg as far as he could reach and gave a lopsided, happy grin.

"Rue love Daddy."

To this, Ezriel smiled a bit wider and leaned his head down once again and nuzzled against his son, causing the colt to giggle and give yet another slobbery kiss. Drawing his head back up towards his brother, Ezriel couldn't help but shift slightly as he glanced to the side for a moment or two.

It was hard to completely and full describe what help he needed as there seemed to be so many options and so many different aspects of help that could be given. But Ezriel just needed to get out of this place, he wanted to go back to Glamrock and her herd and find his mother and pour out his soul yet again to her. He needed advice, he just- damn, he just needed to get through this! Even then he could fee his chest tighten and his lungs feel as if they were to collapse, his throat tightening as he held back the wash of emotions that sought so desperately to bombard him.

He cleared his throat and leveled his eyes with his brothers. "Come with me to go find mom- I want you there...with me...."

A breeze carried a good amount of silence between the brothers, and even though there were no words, the two brothers were deep in thought. The situation seemed to get harder as they talked about it more, and Dante wondered what this meant for the future. He really hoped that it would all work out, since Ezriel and Rue deserved it.

"It is good that you wish to be honest," Dante then agreed, while listening to his brother's words. That alone showed that Ezriel cared about his son, and that made Dante feel much better about the situation. "It does worry me, if Reaper finds you." Dante then said, while looking at Rue with a sadness. "I don't want Rue to ever meet Reaper, and I know that is a fool's wish, but ugh." Rue would be better off, maybe he could go and live a more simple life then the all of them. "Its like the times keep revolving, and all Reaper is going to do is manipulate everyone. I can't accept that, I really can't." Dante then stomped his hoof on the ground while not even realizing it.

Dante once again let his anger fade, since his eyes drifted on Rue, and his imitation of his father. "See, you are already like him! But you know, you are Rue too, so you will have to be both! Being yourself is the best part of life." Dante wished he had that energy when he was younger, and after laughing quietly at the colt, he brought his eyes back on his brother, and let a serious expression fall.

"Of course I will go with you." Dante then answered, with a solemn nod. "Did you really expect that I wouldn't? You don't even need to ask." Dante quickly smiled at his brother, while wondering himself how his mom would take everything. He knew that it would all work out in the end, but would she really be made at Ezriel? Dante had never seen his mother mad..

(( I'm sure if you ask Meeki she'll join with Korrine, we can have them go find her or something 3nodding ))

It had been awhile since she had last seen Ezriel, and longer yet since she had seen Dante. Thankfully, Meera never seemed too go too far. It brought a little bit of comfort to her life.

Ezriel's last visit had not been a friendly one. It had taken him days to get back in good health after the fight with his father. He was really shook up back then and it seemed to be for multiple reasons. When he had healed up enough, he left again. It always hurt to see them leave because she never know when they'd visit again, or if something happened, if they'd never be able to visit again. She knew she shouldn't worry so much but could any mother really avoid such things?

She had heard rumors that Ezriel had produced foals with a mare. She was not sure if this was true. She could only gather bits and pieces from his last visit but it did seem he had been taken with a mare. Was it the same mare?

Sighing, she turned her attention back to her walk. She hated the winter. It made her bones ache, no doubt old wounds that could not heal properly even with the help of a unicorn's magic. She hated how food became more scarce as well. She couldn't wait for spring to come again.

Ezriel continued walking as Rue followed between he and Dante. He nodded, glancing over towards his brother with a slight frown. "Knowing Reaper I'm sure he will come and find myself and Rue- its a damn situation that I know will present itself when Reaper decides its time. But there's- ugh, I don't know how to even put it in damn words. It was almost as if he and I after the battle...understood one another almost. The thing that seemed to become consumed in that same darkness that's abided within me since I broke out of my basket was- was knowing that he was going to be the father of Nimue's children," he trailed off quitely flaring his nostrils as a heavy breath exhaled from out of his nose and mouth. His pale ears flickered as he grimmaced and the pain from old wounds seemed to shoot through his body causing him to wince ever so slightly.

The stallion shook his head as his eyes stared off in front of him. "I wanted to fill that emptiness- I didn't want to have foals before dad or get ******** even I-I just needed someone. But it seemed to had escalated into something I didn't want and give Eponine feelings that were never...mutual."

His voice continued to fall low, trailing off in silence once more as Ezriel kept a close eye on his son- oh yes, the colt that continued to prance between the two stallions and n** from time to time at each of their manes. He didn't mind really and that devotion to keep Rue out of trouble and walk on the 'straight and narrow' path in righteousness and innocence kept Ezriel on his hooves.

Rue wasn't bad- oh no! The colt just had too much energy that he couldn't keep up with.

Walk. Walk. Walk.

Talk. Talk. Talk.

Rue had been walking between both Daddy and Uncle Dante merrily oblivious to the conversation. The whole time he had been merrily nipping at both the silver-grey and purest crimson mane while squealing with delight and nickering. Even at times where he hadn't succeeded, the affectionate and slightly obscure colt would but his head against either stallions legs and nuzzle or lip them and then stare upwards in awe with those big, black eyes. He couldn't help but feel they were on an adventure! Oh yes! This was a game! Rue was in the midde and what was he suppose to do?

Uncle Dante had told him that he was like Ezriel and was to be himself as well. So.. did that mean have fun and not have to copy daddy all the time?

When it came to copying his father, Rue was pretty good! He was also good at copying and mimicking other soquili as well and even animals. It was clear to see at moments that the young colt wasn't quite all there nor had a full sack of marbles yet one could be sure that Rue was always upbeat, playful, spazz-tastic and ever so loving and affectionate. It seemed that there was no trace of Ezriels severed emotions and darkness in him.

Rue was pure light.

While both Ezriel and Dante were conversing, Rue glanced upwards and then looked back towards the path. That desire...oh, he wanted to have fun! But wait- he should stick close to both daddy and uncle Dante. Rue never liked to get into trouble. But fun! He wanted to run! Again the colt glanced up to the two stallions and looked back down towards the trail ahead as his small crimson tail wiggled and swayed behind him like a estatic and excited puppy as the energy seemed to conjure and collect within his tiny veins.

Before anyone could say anything, Rue suddenly bolted forwards and began to gallop far ahead of the two stallions. "RUE GO FAAAAAAST! RUE FAST IS VERY!" He exclaimed with such thrill and giggled as he darted off.

Oh yes!

Rue loved to have fun.

Somehow Ezriel should have known better- no, he should have seen this coming.

With wide eyes as his maw just dropped, the stallion's ears perked upwards as he suddenly leapt forwards in a spring after the runaway colt. "RUE! Rue- Rue! GET BACK HERE! This is no time for games!" He yelled, of course with 'tough love' as he snorted through his nostrils and began to trail behind the colt enduring through his sons 'games'.

"Damnit,"he cursed to himself while trying not to think of the unseen and unwanted invalids and individuals that could be lurking both near and far- only to come closer by the ruckus and mayhem between father and son and even uncle.

Dante was quiet even after his brother spoke, since it seemed he was lacking in the advice category. The situation had gotten extremely complicated, and it was one that even Dante couldn't understand. "Well, no matter what, I want you to know I'm here for you." he then said, while lowering his head. He felt shameful, since he couldn't even help his brother out. "I just want you to be happy, and I want you to put so much of this stuff behind you. I promise you, that when that does happen, you will start living life as if you were something else." It was hard to explain, and Dante shook his head at his lack of helpfulness. "I just want you to feel calm again, and relaxed. But anyway, I just hope we find mom soon, she will have much better advice then me." And.. Dante was also wondering what his mother would say, since the situation was extreme. He was probably as worried as Ezriel! He didn't want to show that, though.

Just as he was about to state more, he looked up to see Rue bouncing away, and then Ezriel bounding after him. "Oh my!" Dante blinked for a moment, before picking up his own pace and following. "Rue.. Rue!" Dante was scrambling behind his brother, since he didn't know what else to do besides follow!

They must have looked very silly, since they all looked alike, and they were all following each other! "Get him, Ezriel! I don't want him to get hurt!"

Ugh.. the whole Uncle thing was flowing into Dante's head, and that made him feel feelings of worry that he had never had before. Would he ever be a father like this? Goodnes.. that was a scary thought too, wasn't it?!

Korrine hadn't been out of the woods for long when something small darted across from her in the distance. The foal seemed to be enjoying himself and it brought a smile to her face. It wasn't until she saw Dante and Ezriel chasing after that the scene registered on her.

Had the rumors been true after all? She felt a little pain that Ezriel would have impregnated a mare and waited so long to tell her. Perhaps he had merely take a foal under his care? No.. the foal looked so much like him. Surely he had a reason. He had been.. rather distraught. She would not make a fuss over it, whatever the case be, she promised herself. She had made a vow to herself that she would try to be as good of a mother as possible when she had found out she was pregnant. Her son had his reasons. She knew this.

As quickly as the thoughts had come over her, they faded and she found herself running as fast as her tired old legs could carry her. She had a grandfoal to meet and that's all that mattered! It felt good to run. It seemed like it had been so long since she ran simply for fun. "Last one to that tree is Skinwalker dung!", she called playfully in greeting.

The little foal was so fast for his age. It was good for him to have so much energy. It would keep him in good shape. It seemed she spotted one too many foals spending their time sleeping away the wintery days as much as possible instead of enjoying the beauty it had to offer. Her bones ached more because of the run, but she had no regrets. She had a foal to open her heart to and her sons, how she loved their visits so!
