This isn't relevant in the slightest to the Abortion debate, or anything like that, but I know that some of you were watching my ticker in my siggy and I thought that you might like to know that I gave birth 4 days ago to a bouncing baby boy.
For anyone that's interested;
-Brandon James -December 25th 12:31pm -9lbs 11oz -full head of black hair (funny because both Mommy and Daddy are blondes) -22 inches long -looks like Daddy -labour started early in the morning on Dec. 23rd -water broke at 1am on Dec. 25th (making the contractions jump from 10 mins apart to 3 mins apart) -pushing started at 11:45am on Dec.25th -my husband was absolutely amazing with getting me through the labour and birth -I only swore twice (once was an F-bomb that scared the crap out of my obstetrician: a very grandfatherly-type man), and managed to get through the entire labour and birth without hurting anyone (or breaking my husband's fingers) -Brandon has already regained the weight that he lost after the birth (was discharged -yesterday at 9lbs 3oz, and weighed in today at 9lbs 15oz) -yes, I'm breastfeeding, and it's going well
... and I think that should answer any of the typical questions ya'll should have about how things went.
Sorry to post so off-topic, but I figured it might explain my disappearance over the last couple of days/for the next several weeks. I plan to lurk, but it's hard to type with one hand, or with a boy semi-attached to one's breast.

Congrats, dear!<3
Hope you and the baby get along well. heart
I'm sure he'll be happy, with a competent, intelligent woman like you as his mother. You'll be a great role model, too.
Oh, I want a baby.<3 *jealous*

Woo! Congrats, Miyo! *does a little happy dance*
And might I say that December 25th is a super-cool day to be born. Your son shares a birthday with Mithra, an Indo-Aryan deity that was worshiped by the Romans. Fun fun!

That's so great! Congratulations!
That's not offtopic, at all! We can, and do, talk about all sorts of things in here, and this is a wonderful topic!
Sometimes babies are born with dark hair, but then lose it soon after birth.
Also, we desperately need pictures. *wink*
And, breast feeding is the best thing for babies!

My husband was apparently born with quite dark hair, and then went very very bald until he was nearly a year. smile
Brandon has not only regained his birth weight and then some, he did it by the time he was 3 days old.
He's been sleeping well, and eating well, and there's been soooo many visitors my head's not on quite right. Still, we're very much enjoying our little man (Matthew has taken to calling him 'Mr. Baby') and we can barely believe that he'll be a week old tomorrow.
Also, hooray for us! We finally get to have Christmas tomorrow! Hahahha, my poor mother in law has her tree still set up, with all the wrapped presents underneath.

Yea, I was born on the 21st and it ruined my life. Separate the holidays and he'll surely love you.
Congrats! ^_^
