The cold plastic chair Louis sat on did little to comfort him, as he waited in the hallway for Anne. He had been sat down in it just moments ago, but already he was fearing for his life. His ocean-blue eyes glanced up and down the hallway, as though expecting some sort of giant, horrible monster to come stomping down from either end and begin munching on him.
Louis' thick, wet tail slid slowly back and forth across the tiles (it being the only part of him that reaches the floor) and he swung his legs a little. Both of these things were only to distract himself from his anxiety.

Faigle's footfalls clunked loudly in her new shoes. The noise bothered her, but not enough to outweigh the protection they afforded her feet. She could kick things really hard now! She wandered down the hallway aimlessly with her wings folded and her hands clasped behind her head. Sevan had dropped her off at the building a few hours ago, and having gotten bored of throwing blocks around in the playroom, she naturally decided to go explore. A wet 'schlup' 'shhhhlup' sound caught her attention as she turned the next corner. And just who was that?
She stopped for a moment and tilted her head to the side quizically, examining him from a distance, first with one eye, then the other. Another kid..younger than her, and smaller. Was that big tail dangerous? Deciding that she could take him on if she needed to, Faigle marched right up to him to get a closer look, stopping just out of striking range of the tail.

Louis jumped a little as his eyes fell upon the newcomer. He hadn't seen her approaching at all! He fidgited a little, peering around her sides slightly, trying to get a look at her wings. Louis didn't like feathers very much; he found they got gloopy and useless when he played with them.
"Um, hello..." He whispered softly, after deciding that this girl probably wasn't going to tear him limb from limb. She looked grumpy, and a whole lot more bold than himself, but not murderous. Not yet, anyway.

Hmphf. He was more timid than she thought. Defiantly not a threat. "Hello. Who're you?" she asked, skipping over the usual rituals of politeness and getting straight to the point. He was so quiet; didn't even look like he had a good fight in him. She adopted a wider, more confident stance with her arms folded behind her head as she eyed him suspiciously. Surely nobody could be that intimidated. Maybe he was poisonous. Only two ways to find out. "Are you poisonous?" she asked, not waiting for a reply to the first question.

"L-louis...and, um..." He thought for a moment, bringing his knees and arms closer to himself. "I don't think so..." He looked slightly more frightened at the thought of being poisonous, and wondered if any of the other children here were. My god, he could have been playing with any one of them! This girl could be one of them! So he added, carefully, "Are, you?"

She indicated no with a quick flick of her head, scoffing at him through her teeth. "F'aye were poisonous I'd have spikes, and I wouldn't need to hit so hard." she bragged, brandishing a wing at him. "Wanna see?" Seeing how Louis curled up to make himself smaller, Faigle leered down at him with her wings outspread to make herself look bigger. She churred in good humor. This was fun! "What can you do anyways? and what are these?" she questioned, prodding his gills.

Yelping and covering his gills with his small fingers, Louis shrunk back even further, off his chair and into the small space between his chair and the next one. This girl was getting more and more dangerous, poisonous or not. Louis flicked his tail and wrapped it around his legs protectively, not wanting to be jabbed again. His gills flared a little, still stinging a little from being handled so forcefully.

Faigle followed him doggedly, still chattering non-stop. "Yeep yeep!" she mimicked "C'mon. Don't be such a sissy!" While he was busy covering his gills she tickled his nose and what she could reach of his neck with the soft edges of her wing feathers and at the same time digging her fingers into his vulnerable sides. No longer caring that she was in striking-range of the tail, she leaned in, so she could go back to jabbing at his gills the moment he moved his hands away, giggling all the while.

Louis cried out in his tiny voice as he was assaulted from all angles. This girl was completely definately very dangerous now, he decided. And with that decision made, he grabbed the nearest limb to himself and bit down as hard as he possibly could.

Oh, so he wanted to play rough did he? Before, she had only been teasing and tickling him (she was unaware of how sensitive gills could be, since he had none) but that hurt! She hissed, simultaneously trying to jerk her wing away and hit him with the other one to make him let go. She would have suceeded, but Louis was protected by his hiding space. Since they were bolted down, Faigle couldn't move them and while she could reach in to jab and scratch at him with her hands, the powerful strikes of her other wing glanced off the plastic arms of the chairs, nor could she kick at him while crouched on the floor.

The tears of fright dried from Louis' eyes quite suddenly, and a wave of instict took over. Like a threatned Moray, he lept from his hiding place like a bolt of lightning, and, without giving Faigle half a chance to blink, he wrapped his arms and tail around as much of her as he could, savaging any inch of her he could reach with his teeth.
He wasn't thinking, or seeing, just attacking as hard as he could. Attacking wildly and viciously, though a little clumsy not being submerged, still lightning fast and raging wild. Burbling, growling noises escaped his usually quiet and meek mouth, his gills flaring from breathing hysterically with effort.

Despite Louis's shift from defense to offense, Faigle had the advantage on open ground. With him wrapped around her and not making any attempt to dodge, she could easily box his ears with both fists and wings, in theory. In reality, his attack had knocked her over so that one wing was pinned beneath her and while she was hitting furiously with the other one, her arms were busy sheilding her face from Louis's onslaught. She'd already lost a few feathers covering one ear and she wasn't about to sacrifice the rest. Faigle stayed calm although she lowered her head and hissed loudly and angrily. She'd been in plenty of fights before, and she was sure she could win this one if only she could get him to let go! In a sudden stroke of inspiration, Faigle bent her torso down and brought her leg up to her chest, slamming her knee into his back.

Yelping loudly as he was attacked; Louis recoiled and released her for an instant. It was only a second before he grabbed the nearest part of her he could reach and began tearing at it with his teeth and nails. Louis concious mind slipped back in ever-so-slightly; and he wondered if he'd ever had to fight someone this hard before...? ((my comma and enter key arn't working for some reason...so I've used ";" in place of commas))

With a hawklike screech Faigle was on him again, but she wasn't fast enough. She'd intended to knock him a vicious uppercut, but he'd latched onto her arm this time and it had only served to drive his teeth deeper. She was still busy protecting her eyes with her other hand and his nails were scratching angry lines down whatever part of her he could reach. This kid might not have been as big or strong as she was, but he definitely made up for it in persistence. She managed to get a leg under herself, preparing use her size to her advantage, when strong hands seized her by the wings and forcefully hauled her off, at the same time tapping Louis sharply on the nose to make him let go.
"Whoa now kids! What's this all about?" chuckled the perpetually good-natured craftmaster. "First of all, the middle of the hallway is no place for a friendly scuffle."
Irritated, Faigle tried to jerk her wings away, but his grip was too strong and she took due warning of the increased pressure on the angle against her shoulder. One more move, and he'd break it.
Purposefully ignoring Faigle, although he did not relinquish his hold, Dragonspine leaned down to talk to Louis. "Looked like you were really taking it, little guy, but you held your own pretty well. What's your name?"

Louis struggles for a moment, then his conscious mind set back in. Seeing a little blood on his hands, he made a small noise of terror and shrunk back into his original hiding spot, between the two chairs. "L-louis...am I in trouble...?" He whispered, sounding utterly terrified. He really hadn't meant to go so far!
